Mac OS Localization with scripts

Hi all,
Since 10.5 (and now 10.6), we try to apply localization scripts when we restore our ghost.
We have 4 locations to provide : France, UK, Netherlands and Belgium. Each have a different localization formats.
Our Ghost is a Mac OS 10.6.5 US located, and contain only one local admin (ladmin) session.
Localization customizing is done with scripts that contain some instructions using "languagesetup", "systemsetup" and "defaults write" on some files.
Files changing using "defaults write" are :
/Users/ladmin/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences (to define admin's region, currency)
/Users/ladmin/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.HIToolbox (to define admin's input keyboard list)
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.HIToolbox (to define loginwindow's input keyboard list)
/var/tmp/com.apple.HIToolbox.loginwindow (to define loginwindow's input keyboard list)
/System/Library/User Template/$Language/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences (to define template's region, currency)
/System/Library/User Template/$Language/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.HIToolbox (to define template's input keyboard list)
If local account's localizing, loginwindow keyboard input list, language setup work well, the .GlobalPreferences in the user template is ignored.
For exemple, for a french version (region : France, currency : Euro, Measurement units : Metric), when we login as a new user, we have :
Region : US (french)
Currency : US Dollar
Measurement units : Metric
Is there a link with the original language of the ghost ?
So, is there a deeper command of "languagesetup" to change System language ?
And sure, how to do that correctly ?

Are you using a WACOM tablet?
This is known behavior with tablets. It sucks but WACOM doesn't ever seem to fix it. Only solution I know is to disconnect the tablet.

Problem Running App with Scripting Bridge on MAC OS X TIger

Hi,
I have an application which link with Scripting Bridge Frame work, use XCODE 3.0 and SDK 10.5. I use Scripting Bridge, to control some functionality of ITune from Objective-C. This Application run fine on Leopard and behave as expected. When I Run this application on Tiger this does not load.
Considering that scripting Bridge was first released om Leopard.
Can my Above Application Run on Tiger. If not how do I interface ITune from Objective-C, on both Tiger and Leopard? IS there update which suppose to fix this?

There will be no update for old products like Tiger. What there is is all you will ever get. For Tiger, you will have to dig into sending Apple Events to iTunes manually. Or it might be easier to define your Apple Scripts as string resources in your application an execute them via a system() call.

[JS CS3] Apply Italics with scripting

There's a keyboard shortcut called "Apply Italics", which by default is [cmd]+[shift]+[i] on Mac, and [ctrl]+[shift]+[i] on Windows. I use it often because it will change text to the correct italic style. For instance text with the style "85 Heavy" will change to "86 Heavy Italic" or "Semibold Display" to "Semibold Display Italic".
Is there any way to access "Apply Italics" with scripting? The action is not available in any menu as far as I know.

I made this script which will change all text with the character style "I" into proper italics, and creates corresponding character styles. "I" is just a character style with no properties. It gets applied when I import content into InDesign.
I will end up with styles called "I 37 Thin Condensed Oblique", "I Italic Display" and so on according to the various fonts.

I have a Mac Book Pro with a 320 gig hdd and my drive is corrupted and I can't engage it. So I would like to switch to a 1 terabyte drive can this be done?

I have a Mac Book Pro with a 320hdd, 2.33 processor, 8 gigs of RAM and OS X 10.9.4 . My hdd crashed and I cannot access it so is it possible to install a 1 terabyte drive with the operating software already installed and also upgrade my RAM to 16 gigs?

If I were you I'd install a small SSD as the boot drive from OWC:

Then put a second large conventional drive either in the optical bay (Data Doubler) or in an external.
You don't say which MBP you have: Size, CPU type.
Also when you upgrade you could see if you can salvage your data from your old HD. Can you hear it spin up? If so Data Rescue IV.

The 30" display needs a DUAL-LINK adapter.

When I connect my Mac Mini 2011 with Lion to a TV via HDMI and an earphone cable is plugged in, it´s not possible to choose sound out via hdmi, as opposed to connection via minidisplay port. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Was just on the phone with Apple about this.
The solution was as follows for me anyway...
Go to your Finder
Choose the Go Menu
Choose Computer
Choose your Macintosh Hard Drive
Choose your "Library" Folder
Choose the "Preferences" Folder
There should be a folder called "Audio"
Move that whole folder to the trash
Empty the Trash
Restart from the Apple Menu
When you are back up and running;
     Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu
     Choose Sound
      In the output tab you should now be able to make the HDMI "Sticky"
      Enjoy your sound over HDMI and no more dirty knees or broken backs unplugging the desktop speakers!

Now I’m having intermittent problems with sending emails where Firefox freezes up. There is often a yellow warning above suggesting 32-bit mode, sometimes I can click to shift it that way, sometimes not.
Anyone having these problems?

It shows the backup as a file and shows various system info. but there are no photos or other files shown.

A PowerPC Mac, if that's what it is, won't be able to see an Intel Mac's formatted data. Also ExFat formatting is not supported by 10.6.3 or earlier. I would try viewing the backup on another Intel Mac with at least 10.6.4. If it isn't there, then the backup never really took place. I much profer a hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner.

You can never, never migrate an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and you can't get to all the bits and bobs.
First you will have to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
which will not seem to do anything, but is necessary to break the links within PSE so that you can pitch the bits manually. Then you will have to go around, not only to applications, but also to your username>library>preferences and most importantly to the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and remove everything you can find. Spotlight will not help with this kind of search, so don't try that.
Then you can install PSE from scratch.

OS X Lion. 10.7. Your profile says your running 10.6.8, which is Snow Leopard. You need 10.7 to use iCloud with your Mac.

You can't, currently only the iPhone has the personal hotspot function, it hasn't been enabled on the iPad - whether it will be possible in the future I don't know
