Please help, it is of great importance that I get this working ASAP.
I'm not going to comment on beta software, but I do notice that the official developer forums seem unresponsive right now.
I suggest in the future you don't wait until the last minute to install software you need ASAP. Otherwise, you may find yourself stuck on iOS7 release day when every Apple server and Apple support offering is slammed to the wall. You will probably have to wait a week or so until things settle down.

Which version of Mac OS are you using?  Have you ever been able to download and install any of the applications?  What type of Internet connection are you using?  Finally what version of the Adobe Application Manager do you have installed?  You can locate it in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Adobe Application Manager/core.

  • Mac OS 10.7.5 update fails on Macbook

Trying to update to 10.7.5 from 10.7.4 fails on about three different Macbooks I have.
I have tried through Software Update.
I have tried downloading the update from apple.com/downloads
I have tried downloading the combo update from apple.com/downloads
I have tried formatting the drive and reinstalling Lion and then repeating all of the above.
    They all fail.
The most useful output I could get from it was using the installer command:
    bash-3.2# installer -pkg ./MacOSXUpdCombo10.7.5.pkg -tgt /
installer: Package name is Mac OS X Update Combined

The missing bundles don't necessarily surprise me since they sound like fairly specialized applications. There seems to be no other indication of WHY it failed however, and no contact information to find out what to do next.
Help? This is affecting about 5 Macbooks that I have tested so far, so probably another 15 that I haven't tested yet.

After researching older questions and answers it came down to the battery.  Sure enough my battery was warped on the inside and the outside.  The inside warp presses on the underside of the trackpad and click bar causing all sorts of misadventure with the trackpad and click bar.  So I answered my own questions.

  • Mac OSX 10.5.6 update fails every time

    Hi,
I recently did a defrag on my macbook pro and reinstalled it from the leopard disk. And so it was reset to mac OSX 10.5, now every time I try the combined update to 10.5.6 it fails, I tried twice with the updated deleting in after the first try. I then downloaded it from the downloads but to no avail.

Hello and welcome to the discussions. Just recently the 10.5.6 combo update was revised to allow the update from 10.5.0. Before it was required 10.5.1 to update using the 10.5.6 combo. Try updating to 10.5.1 then run the 10.5.6 combo.
    You can download 10.5.1 here:

    Hope it works for you,

  • Recovering Mac HD via Time Machine Backup fails because "Restore system from backup" doesn't show in Utilities Menu of original install. DVD

Hi, after serious problems (troubleshooting didn't help) with my iMac G5 (PPC) running Mac OS X Leopard I've tried to recover my Mac HD via Time Machine (exactly as described by David Pogue on page 242 of the Leopard Missing Manual). However, "Restore system from backup" in the Utilities Menu of my original Leopard installation DVD failed to show up. What can I do?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated -

I am using an imac 10.5.8 and can't seem to download the java i need to print coupons! Each time I try it fails to mount! Please help!

The last Java update for Leopard was:
Update 10, 29 June 2011 - This release updates J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_30, and updates Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_26. J2SE 1.4.2 is no longer being updated to fix bugs or security issues and remains disabled by default in this update. Support for out-of-process Java applets on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has been removed with this update.

  • Mac OS X 10.9 filter failed P4014

I have a Mac that before installing Mavericks (10.9) printed fine (as did other Macs used before) to a Laserjet P4014 used via an SMB server. The machine is configured to print only via the server, so I can’t print directly to it.
It now failes to print, reporting Filter failed.
I’ve tried applying the various solutions on different threads here like removing and reinstalling the printer, changing the Mac’s network name, rebooting, checking the disk and correcting permissions, and installing the latest drivers.
There is nothing wrong with the printer – we are in a building full of non-Mac users who have reported no problem, and I can print from my Linux machine.
I have reported this as a bug to Apple and exhausted option from discussion on Apple’s support forum.
    Any more ideas?

Hello @PhilipMach  , and welcome to the HP Forums.
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at HP Commercial LaserJet Forums.

  • Reader on Mac OS 10.6.2 search fails sometimes

    Hi there,
sometimes when I use Adobe Reader (latest) on my Mac (OSX 10.6.2) the PDF search fails. I.e., a search for "statt dessen" shows up things like "dieser" or "was". The results have nothing to deo with my search term. Is it a common failure on my OS version or is it a problem with the .pdf (probably not made with Acrobat)? Any hints really appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I have Mac OS 10.6.2
I downloaded the Reader 9 package. When I go to install, the installer gives me this error message:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)
    Couldn't open "AdbeRdr930_en_US_i386.pkg".
I am new to Mac, can anyone tell me how to fix this please?

  • HT4718 infinite loop error installing  lion internet recovery "Install Mac OS X" window. " Install Failed Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer - Restart"

    Hi all,
my macbook pro became extermily slow for some reason, I rebooted it many times and same problem so I decided to reinstall the Mac OS X lion from the internet.
I tried installing  lion internet recovery, it downloaded it and restarted. I got the "Install Mac OS X" window. then while installing I got the sad message " Install Failed Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer" and the only botton is "restart". Everytime I restart I gor the same message. Now I am trying to start from the harddisk but I does not show when you start the pc, keep clicking the "alt" botton. It only shows "Mac OS X Installer" and "Recovery HD". What Should I do?
    I appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Thanks Baltwo.
I could format it and get the back up from time machine but it is not up to date so I want to leave it at last.
I tried to back it up on external hard drive and got an error, tried CCC for back up and error again.
Just wanted to do an update on the subject. Still trying to get it back.

  • Mac Mini OS Won't After Failed Software Update

I selected to update to the latest iTunes, QuickTime, and OS-X updates. Both QuickTime and OS-X failed to update completely. I then reselected to update QuckTime again and it updated successfully and promted to restart the Mac, which I did.
Upon restarting, the Mac would boot into the OS. It just freezes at the OS X screen. I followed the step in the User's Guide to start by holding down the "option" key and power button. It started into screen with the HD, return, and right arrown icon. The HD icon shows the drive and a red "x" at the corner.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I tried the Disk Utility first. It found a Bit Map error and did a self-repair. The status was "disk repaired successfully". So somehow the failed update corrupted something. However, in the end, the OS still wouldn't start.
Then I reinstalled the Mac OS 10.4.2 system and archived the old system. All user accounts and software appeared to be preserved. I have yet to check everything. Next I ran the software update again. It found about 7 required updates, including QuickTime 7.1.5 and Mac OS X Update Combine (PowerPC) 10.4.9. Again QuickTime an d Mac OS X failed to update. I did not force it to update the second time.
    Questions:
Is it okay to remove the folder "Previous System" at this point?
What to do with those 2 failed updates?
    Thanks
    Les

  • Yosemite mac mail drowning in mail delivery failed messages I didn't send!

    babs bellNov 14, 2014 7:03 PM
Since upgrading to Yosemite, I am getting hundreds (tens of thousands this week!) emails that read:
    From: Mail Delivery System
Subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
But I didn't send any of the emails! I've spent this entire week deleting them, working on phone with my server who claims to have fixed it (NOT!), and 5 hours on phone support with Apple today. Still happening. There must be a setting that is screwed up in Yosemite, eh? Who can help me? Using Mac Mail on Mac Book Pro. I'm drowning here! GLUG. Thanks!
    Edit

Did all of that with Apple and they nor my server thought this was the problem, nor did they get it resolved. I'm wondering if there's a rule in Mail preferences that I accidentally deleted that could be the cause. There were two rules and neither made any sense to me but as soon as I deleted the first one, I realized I probably shouldn't have. And there's been a huge problem since...not sure that's why but I must find the resolution. I did have genieo somehow installed so Apple got it uninstalled and did tons of things to my system to clean this and that. BUT the problem remains. If you use mac mail and Yosemite, can you check the two rules that automatically were in the mail preferences window to tell me what rule I deleted? Thank you so very much!

  • Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.1 fails to boot

I am running OS 10.10.1 on Mac Pro Early 2009. This morning all running programs including Finder froze. All i could do was Quit or force-quit the running programs and shut down. Then the computer failed to boot. I was able to boot in Safe Mode. But any attempt for normal boot failed.
Since i have Boot Camp, I tried booting to the Disk Startup Manager (pressed Option key). I got the 3 options -- (1) Mac OS; (2) Windows; and (3) Recovery. But after I selected either Windows or Mac OS and the arrow moved to my selected option, nothing happened when i clicked the "arrow" button. I could click it  many times but the screen remained frozen till I powered off the computer.
Strangely, when I held down the Command key by itself the computer started normally. But subsequent all attempts to boot normally failed again.
    Any suggestions?
i will greatly appreciate any help. Thank you all in advance.

Boot into the recovery partition and select Disk Utility from the 4 option menu.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.
If the disk cannot be repaired an new HDD will have to installed.
    Ciao.

  • Dual Booting Mac OS X and Arch, rEFInd fails to open initrd file

I gave up on trying to solo boot Arch on a MacBook(1,1), and I'm dual booting. I have Arch installed on its own partition, and rEFInd is installed and configured through Mac OS X. I followed the wiki's instructions on moving the initramfs files and creating refind_linux.conf in Arch's folder on the EFI partition, and when I reboot, Arch appears as a boot option! This is good news! However, when I select it, the following happens:
    rEFInd - Booting OS
    Starting vmlinuz-arch.efi
    Using load options 'root=/dev/sda4 ro rootfstype=ext4 systemd.unit=multi-user.target initrd=\EFI\arch\initramfs-arch.img'
Failed to open initrd file: EFI\arch\initramfs-img
My question is, do I need to install refind-efi on the Arch partition, even though I've installed rEFInd on Mac OS X?
Also, do I need to install GRUB in Arch, even though I've [attempted to] used EFISTUB to link rEFInd with Arch?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I got 32-bit UEFI to work on my macbook, and I found it to be rather straight forward.  But 32-bit UEFI is not incredibly common, and I wanted to have a 64-bit system so that I could potentially chroot into my other computer's disk if necessary.  So that is why I ended up using bios compatibility on my macbook.
Edit: Oh yeah, and yes, using MBR only is also another way in which you can use bios compatibility mode.  Basically you just need to have a MBR with more than one protective partition, and I think you need to have one partition marked as bootable in the MBR.  It has been a while since I got all that macbook stuff working though, so the info is a bit stale in my head.
