Mac OSX 10.7.5 + Java 7.11 Juniper Network Connect fails

I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and just upgraded to Java 7.11. As a result, my Juniper Network Connect vpn now fails - I can't even install the software. I see the following error message "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components." I made sure the keystore password was set to changeit using the following:
sudo keytool -storepasswd -new changeit -keystore /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Home/lib/security/cacerts -storepass changeme
However, I continue to see "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components."
Any ideas?

Just a guess, but that looks to be the location for Apple Java 6, which is not replaced when you upgraded to Java 7, rather Oracle stores it in a different location.
It's also possible that Juniper has not updated their software for Java 7. I know that's true for at least one other VPN vendor.

I am trying to use Juniper Network Connect on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.10 and Java 8 (Update 25) to connect to my corporate network.
However, each time I log into my corporate network through Mozilla Firefox and attempt to establish a remote desktop connection the following message appears as Network Connect attempts to load, "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components."
Mozilla Firefox is recommended by my company.
Has anybody else experienced this issue?
I have encountered Network Connect problems over the years (and similar error messages) and I am wondering if this message is related to OS and/or Java upgrades?

The current version 8.0.7 of Network Connect and the latest Yosemite 10.10.1 don't like each other: you simply can't connect.
A workaround (and it should be nothing more if you care) is to allow unsigned kernel extensions (which are unsupported/disabled in Yosemite by default):
sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"
(reboot afterward) To revert this:
sudo nvram -d boot-args
Looks like this is also helpful for some other problematic extensions.

The applet is in the same directory as the ASP. It is a NT 4 (SP6) server. The applets loaded and ran fine with jdk1.3. Do I need to do something different in my ASP, or IIS setup to allow java applet HTTP connection in JDK1.4?

I have the exact same problem but have yet to find a solution.
It works fine in 1.3 but fails occasionally in 1.4. If I refresh the browser several times it eventually
loads.

I'm getting the java.io.IOExcetion :open HTTP Connection Failed error when I'm trying run a html page with an embedded Applet in it.
We are having a proxy server and all our network traffic have to be done through proxy.
But in Browser we give exemption to local host.
When I run the html file outside JDeveloper keeping it in the same directory in which the Applets class file is : I'm getting the Applet running.
But If I run the html page From JDeveloper , I'm getting the above said error.
My JRE is configured to use Browser settings and the browser is set to use the proxy.
Why are applets not able to connnect to the sever?
How to make Jdeveloper connect to proxy?

Even Iam getting same error error message is as follows. I tried setting codebase to appropriately but still Iam getting the same error. I searched all the forums they were also talking abt proxy setting does has any idea is that is also one of the reason. Please let me know how can I fix this problem. same application works fine with MSJVM but not with SUN JVM 1.4.2_07.

It's not difficult understand the topic.
The actual DNS resolution implementation of Java is faulty.
It's the ONLY service in my Windows machine that couldn't do a correct DNS resolution, stand alone application, Internet Explorer and Mozzilla web pages with applet-
If i use IPs all go fine... when i use domain java fail.
ALL java... non only applet. Also Java Web Start fail.
I controlled proxy, there isn't. i say to java to do a direct connect.
The only thing in my net configuration of strange is the router, a zyxel 660hw... nothing else... my pc work fine with all the rest of the programs that use IPs. Only java is faulty.

We are facing a warning when we tried to launch the JNLP on MAC using Java 1.7_45 .
Warning message - "This Java Application will be blocked in a future Java Security update because the jar file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute . Please contact the Publisher for
more information "
Warning is about adding permissions to application jar files but we have already done this on all the jars .
Added code base and permissions attribute in manifest file of each jar . This works fine on Windows 7 and XP with same Java version .
Example -
Permissions: all-permissions
Codebase: code base location from jnlp
Interestingly Java console does not show any warnings so i am not sure why Java is showing this message that the application will be blocked in future java releases on MAC if permissions is not added to Jar file .
Looking at all the testing it seems there is some kind of issue between Java 7 update 45 and MAC OSX 10.9
(As the same jnlp works without any warnings on other OS )
Any help will be much appreciated .

If you experience any issues while trying to locate the pritner during the wireless configuration. restoring the network defaults for the printer can be done by pressing and holding both the Cancel ( ), the Wireless ( ), and the Power ( ) buttons for three seconds.

I have been trying to solve this problem for a while. Once Java got decoupled from OSX I started getting this error when Network Connect would launch. I have run out of options.

Love to hear everyone's thinking on this one. I have tried on and off for awhile to fix.

There is a thread about this in the Apple Developer's forum. Basically it looks like Apple changed the default password for the java truststore. I'm guessing it was accidental since the two passwords are very similar and they didn't notify even the Java developers of the change nor is it documented in the updates release notes. This affects:

Personally, to err is human and I can accept that. The problem I have is that Apple is taking so long to fix this. The problem came almost 2 months ago and I noticed on the developer thread that one of Apple's Java developers instead of just admitting the problem instead went on some rant on how the Sun (now Oracle) Java development team needs to change how apps are installed. Whatever.
The reality is this: Until the Oracle Java development team is convinced to change the way Java works and actual does it and Java developers have a chance to change their code this is the reality of the world. Suck it up and fix your broken stuff. Apple could have very easily released a new update that fixed this but instead it looks like their waiting for their next major update and in the meantime everyone else has to work around their mistakes. To be honest, I don't expect anything else from Apple; this is just how they operate.
BTW, According to a Juniper KB, Juniper will be releasing an update to the SA boxes that takes this into account.

Mac OSX 10.6.2 Java 6 Web Start not always version checking on launch

When launching a Swing app via Web Start on Snow Leopard, it will often fail to discover and download the new version. This feature works consistently with Java 6 on Linux and Windows PC's.
The web-start app is accessed using an Application Bundle created with the Java Preferences app. If I clear the cache in Java Preferences, Web Start will nicely download the application and run it. However, after deploying a new version of the app, the Mac client will often run the cached version of the app without downloading the new version. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Just so this is perfectly clear..... NO CAN DO
I have VMWare and Parallels on a Brand New MacBook Pro. It came with 10.5.11 and that is absolutely the OLDEST Mac OS I can install in a virtual environment. Believe me, I tried Tiger, Panther and Jaguar to no avail.
If the Mac in question came loaded with Snow Leopard, it has a "Snow Leopard or better" firmware write on the logic board and it will not allow an older OS to be installed.... even in a virtual environment, unless there's a secret that nobody I've spoken to in support for both VM clients knows.

Dont worry found the prob its that i accidintely hide them and so i went to my account went to hidden purchases then unhide them

Compiling dbxml-2.5.16 on Mac OSX

When I compile without options everything runs fine to the end.
If I compile with option --enable-java I get:
../dist/../libdb_java/db_java_wrap.c:137:17: error: jni.h: No such file or directory
../dist/../libdb_java/db_java_wrap.c:161: error: expected ‘)’ before ‘*’ token
../dist/../libdb_java/db_java_wrap.c:210: error: expected ‘)’ before ‘*’ token
../dist/../libdb_java/db_java_wrap.c:214: error: expected ‘=’, ‘,’, ‘;’, ‘asm’ or ‘__attribute__’ before ‘*’ token
etc.
Mac OSX 10.6.5, java version "1.6.0_22"
file 'jni.h' is indeed missing.
How to solve this?

Hi,
that means that a compiler does not know where to search a header file "jni.h". You may help a compiler by exporting a system variable:
export CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Headers/or wherever your jni.h is.
You can put this into ~/.profile so that the variable is saved for other sessions.

Web start Errors via Mac OSX 10.5.1

I wanted to test out webstart on Linux, Windows and Mac OSX and my mac user could not start up the web start demo I had running.

I am choosing java because its cross-platform and the 1 click web start is just a very nice way to deploy my video game. If anyone else had the same issue or maybe an answer it would help a lot.
As a note Mac OSX 10.5 include Java 1.5
