Macbook Air to forget my bluetooth headphones

I once paird my bluetooth headphones with a Macbook Air. The headphones have been removed from the bluetooth devices. The Macbook Air has been wiped, and OS X reinstalled. Cleared PRAM, but every time I turn on my bluetooth headphones, the Air prompts to pair.
There are several Mac's in the office, and this only happens with the one that I once paired with.  ANY idea on how to make this Air forget about these headphones????
Thanks!

  • My MacBook Air 13" - 2011 has bluetooth issues ?

    BLUETOOTH ISSUES:
    1. BLUETOOTH ALWAYS GET BACK TO "ON" AFTER I RESTARTED. EVENTHOUGH I HAVE TURNED IT OFF BEFORE I RESTARTED MY MACBOOK AIR.
    2. THE OPTION IN THE BLUETOOTH FOR "DISCOVERABLE" IS GREYED. THEREFORE I CANT TICK IT.
    WHY ?

Maybe with this bump an expert will take a look at the crash dump.
In the mean time, a generic solution for such problems is to verify (and if needed repair) the system disk and then reïnstall OS X.  If you need help with these procedures, post back.

  • Why doesn't my 2015 macbook air connect to any bluetooth devices?

I have recently bought a macbook air, having been out of the apply world for a number of years.  Stupid me, but I just presumed that my up to the minute, expensive  new laptop would connect to my non-mac, not brand new, but only a couple of year's old, bluetooth devices, the main device being my wireless speakers.  Sadly, this is not the case so I am unable to listen to any  music from my iTunes library through my speakers using my 'all singing, all dancing', amazing new macbook.  I am pretty annoyed by this to say the least.  I can't even find any meaningful advice or guidance to tell me if this is a honest to goodness fact, 'no, you can't connect it' or whether it is something that I could rectify via downloading something or even taking it to someone more techy.........so frustrated!!!!!  Please help!!

Manxtree ~ Go to Apple's Knowledge Base HERE and, into the search bar, enter: Mac Bluetooth speakers and then click the Search button. In the resulting list of hits you should see one called "OS X Yosemite: Set up Bluetooth audio devices". Click on it.

  • MacBook Pro loses connection with Bluetooth Headphones

    Hi,
Every time I turn off my bluetooth headphones and then turn them back on, my mid-2009 MBP loses connection with them and forces me to re-pair them. It comes up with an error where the only option is "Stop using headphones" - does anyone know a solution to this?
    My headphone are Sony DR-BT101.

  • MacBook Air periodically 'forgets' its connection to WPA network

I'm hoping I can gain some insight into a persistent and annoying glitch I'm having with wireless on my brand new MB Air.
At home, we use a new AE base station for internet access and it works flawlessly (so far). At work, we have a linksys router using WPA encryption. I connect via DHCP. I am able to connect, using the right password, and everything initially works as well as it does on my iMac, which also connects wirelessly.
However, after a couple of minutes all of my internet services abruptly go away. Shared volumes are lost and I am unable to open any web pages. However, my airport indicates that I am still connected to the router. Turning airport off and back on temporarily relieves the problem, which always resurfaces in a minute or two.
I'm guessing there's some sort of power-saving feature at work here. But I've poked through every system setting I can find and have not found the answer.
With advance thanks for your help,
    EB

Many thanks for the reply but it showed an ethernet connection before I ever migrated anything...ie new out of the box. The AppleCare guys weren't so surprised...apparently have seen it on other boxes too. They talked me through adding airport to the device list and we got that working. They had a plausible explanation on why it did that but I was so happy to see an airport connection that (as I am sure you would expect) I didn't pay enough attention to repeat it accurately here. What they could not resolve was the repeated dropping of the connection (all this before I migrated.) I reinstalled OS X unsuccessfully 3 times, with apple care's help, before giving up and putting disk 2 in without a prompt which apparently completed the install. Apple Care seemed happy with that.
I migrated by myself following all prompts and I am sure you may be correct and I screwed that up somehow but it does not explain the hardware issues I had out of the box, brand new, unaltered by me and not of my making. Which is why I queried the hardware.
many thanks again for your suggestions
The migration was after all this and I did it on my own, following all instructions and prompts

  • Looking for a bluetooth headphone for my Macbook Air and Ipad Mini, I am not looking for a headphone that needs a transmitter to be connected to the source rather a headphone that can be connected directly via bluetooth to the source device

I am desperately looking for a bluetooth headphone that would be compatible to my Macbook air and Ipad mini both. I am more of looking for a headphone that does not need a transmitter device to be connected to the source (in this case Macbook Air and Ipad Mini) and headphone acting as a receiver, rather need a headphone that would be connected directly via bluetooth to the source, it would be great if multiple apple devices be connected simultaneously. Please suggest some good headphones.

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was busy to figure out alternatives as harman kardon was a difficult affair to find and acquire, but the good news is I managed to get hold of alternative.
Sony I assume recently launched a Bluetooth headphone DR-BTN200 which is compatible to my MacBook Air , iPad mini and android phone galaxy s2 with ease, the sound quality is pretty good as compared to other brands of Bluetooth headphones I checked compatible or incompatible to apple devices alike, this is definitely what I was looking for, costed me 7990 INR, this is highly recommended for ppl who are confused, I carried my devices to the store and checked before I bought a pair and pretty much happy,
The best part of this is its battery backup, I have used this hours for 3-5 days but this has not drain even then, but I do keep this charging once in 2-3 days just to keep this ready otherwise it does not even ask for it neither the quality of sound drops after 2-3 days of use.
This is over the ear headphone which is very soft but it's get sweaty around the ear I guess that's bound to happen.
Do get back to me for any other details, would be glad to share with all :)

  • IPhone5 bluetooth can not connect to macbook air?

    hi
my iPhone5 bluetooth can not connect to macbook air (mid 2012).
is bluetooth on iPhone 5 designed so that it CANT connect to computers?

Yes, BT on the iPhone only has profiles for hands-free, audio, tethering and control. It does not support file transfer profiles.

  • MacBook Air -- Bluetooth connectivity

I use the apple bluetooth keyboard and super mouse. Periodically (not seeming to coincide with any sort of Time Machine backup, heavy internet download, etc), my keyboard and mouse stop responding. I then walk over to my macbook air, turn off my bluetooth using my touchpad, turn it back on, and everything is working again.
    Any ideas?

Yes, I installed the update 2.0, and it did not impact the problem for better or for worse.
On a happy note, since I've installed 10.5.8, I have not seen the problem, so something Apple did seems to have fixed it for me.
(Setup is a MacBook Pro 15" late 2008 with the latest Apple aluminum wireless keyboard and wireless mighty mouse. It was almost always the mighty mouse that was a problem before, and turning Bluetooth off and then on again always fixed it, but it happened a few times a day and this was a pain.)

  • Bluetooth Issues iPhone 6 & MacBook Air/ Earpiece

    Having two issues,
1)Can't get my new iPhone 6(iOS 8.2) & my New just purchased MacBook Air to sync via bluetooth
2)Can't get my Plantronics earpiece to sync with my iPhone 6 via bluetooth.
Any suggestions for overcoming this obstacle would be helpful

Re #1, the iPhone is not designed to pair (or sync) with any computer using Bluetooth except for using Personal Hotspot and will only do that if your cellular plan supports it. There are some features (e.g. Handoff) that will only work if Bluetooth is on for both devices, but they are not paired. More information: Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with my computer?

  • Bootcamp, A2DP using Vista on Macbook Air ( How To )

    Hi,
Thought I help those out who've recently picked up a Macbook Air and get them running on Bluetooth/Windows. People complain about the 1 USB, but who cares, the only thing I've got in the USB (when needed) is the Superdrive and everything else running off Bluetooth! Yes streaming A2DP on Vista on your Macbook Air !
What is Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). Allows streaming audio to your A2DP compatible headset without the hassle of wires or having to plug in USB or stereo cables. If you've got the AIR this is a must do, it's just plain cool right? LOL.
    Here's some tips:
    Bootcamp
    1. YOU NEED THE SUPERDRIVE. I tried several other brands (i.e. LG) they work as regular drives but NOT for Bootcamp/Windows install.
    2. XP and Vista run great but please note, as this was such a hassle, you must use XP with SP2 (don't try installing with any other version then attempt to update, let's just say "pain in the ***"). If using Vista (and have the 5 cd version), make an .iso of cd1, then import the /source files from the other 4 discs into the /source dir on cd1 iso then burn to DVD.
    3. Don't freak out on first startup, insert the DISC 1 the came with AIR. It'll stick all the proper drivers.
    4. I installed Vista SP1 last night, ran fine except I initially lost my soundcard output (not input, weird), but simply reinstalling the bootcamp drives resolved that issue.
    *Bluetooth on Windows*
    1. Following basic mouse/keyboard instructions worked flawlessly no issues with Wireless Apple Keyboard (from G5 series). I wish Apple would release the new thin model WITH keypad (hint hint). Using Microsoft 5000 bluetooth mouse no problems.
    2. Here's the pain in the ***, A2DP. I'm using a Jabra BT8010. Vista picked up my device and 4 services (Audio Sink, Handsfree Teleophony, Headset, Remote Control) whereas XP didn't have any services. Yes I tried broadcom, bluesoleil on XP, but could not find my bluetooth device, thus I went with Vista. Now for those four services above, Windows kept pointing me to Broadcom site for drivers and I've tried some google hacks without avail.
Then I found success using the following Dell drivers: http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R142181.EXE
Extract the .exe. When windows asks you for drivers for your Headset Services, point them to \BT350A00\32Bit\Drivers\
3 of 4 services installed flawlessly, I had to initiate the Headset Audio driver install a second time to make it work and voila! I have full streaming audio, Skype, MSN, Youtube, Winamp....etc!
    Hope this helps anyone out.
    Cheers,
    Nolan

Wanted to check this out...so played with BT on Leopard via iTunes. I have to say that the 'use as headphones' option plays quite clean (bass/treble presence, almost similar with wired headphones) not like listening to music through a cellphone call as the typical 'use as Headset' bluetooth option sounds like.
It's probably not audiophile clear but sounds pretty **** good.
Update: For kicks fired up Fusion with Bootamp (Vista), fired up Windows Media Player and it was playing through the 'use as headphones' bluetooth off host, pretty wild (both in single window and unity modes).
Curious, has anyone got A2DP on Windows XP bootcamp?
