Macbook air 'w' key really sensitive

Whenever i loghtly hover over my 'w' key on my mac, its types a w when i havent even pressed it, it is really annoying cause sometimes its a shortcut in things and can ruin activities that i am undertaking.
Any help would be much appreciated

It depends on the method the movie distributor uses for the digital copy. If they provide just a code, you redeem that code in the iTunes Store and the movie will download. If the copy is on a disk in the package and you use the code just to validate, then you will need a DVD drive. If you have another computer with a DVD drive, Remote Disk may work, though I haven't tried it. Or you can redeem the copy on another computer and copy it to your MacBook Air. Otherwise you will need to purchase a DVD drive, either from Apple or another manufacturer.

  • Mid 2011 macbook air. command key has popped off and is now missing the 2nd metal bar. can this be replaced?

The command key popped off my mid 2011 macbook air. It is meant to have two metal bars but can't find the 2nd one. I have clicked it back into place but if I press the button at the bottom the top pops up and I'm worried that if I don't fix the problem I may end up losing the key altogether!
Can you buy replacement metal bars? should I just remove the other bar completely?
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, must have been the crackpipe I smoked last night! LOL
You won't see anything in the Application Support --> Bootcamp folder unless you have previously downloaded the Windows Support Software. Good find.
    ADDENDUM STEP:
This step should be placed between 9-10.
Open Bootcamp Assistant. Uncheck everything BUT, "DOWNLOAD THE LATEST WINDOWS SUPPORT SOFTWARE FROM APPLE". You will be prompted to burn the image to a CD/DVD or save to a USB Key. Save the image to a USB key. This will format your USB key properly in preparation for the files. The download commences and if you're lucky, the files will simply be saved to your USB key without having to manually copy them over to the key using the steps above.
IMPORTANT - Even if the support software hangs when its being saved to the USB key, you should now be able to navigate to the directory and see the image. Follow the steps above.
    Apologies for missing this.
    Best,
    WBN

  • I have an MacBook Air, which keys do i use to connect it to a projector

Which keys do I use to connect my MacBook to a projector

When you physically connect the mac to a projector (which is turned on), it should automatically detect the projector and configure itself.  This can take a second or two.
System Preferences, Displays will provide you with a few options on how the external display will behave (e.g., mirrored).
In the Display preferences if you press the option key a button "Detect displays" will appear which will allow you to manually force the computer to connect to a display.

  • MacBook Air sticky key

Last night was a scary moment in the house, as I discovered how quickly I can lift my MBAir after spilling some juice on it. (For the record, I can do it in about 3/4 to 1 second.) After the quick spill, which luckily wasn't too much, I set the computer aside to let anything I missed dry out. Well, of course I didn't think to let it dry upside down, because that would involve me thinking properly and I just couldn't do that last night.
This morning the computer works perfectly, except for one slight issue. The delete key on the keyboard sticks a bit. It still works, thankfully, as I am not the best typist out there. But the stickiness is somewhat annoying and of course it's happened during the worst time: exams week at school.
So I'm wondering: is a key on the MBAir keyboard removable? I've got the latest 11" MBA. Thanks y'all!

Do you have alot of other devices using the same Router?
I was gonna suggest to log into your router and change your WEP key to something new - then connect with the Air and see if there is any change...
Can't guarantee anything but it's worth a try.

  • HT3964 My MacBook Air isn't really charging!

Today I was trying to charge my MacBook, but the orange/red light isn't shining. Ususally it does, but now it doesn't. I tried using a different shortage hole, and it works. But I would like to know why it wasn't working in the old shortage hole.

I have to say, I've never heard the term "shortage hole" before.  Even a Google search didn't really turn up any applicable results.  I guess it may be a language thing.  I'm guessing you mean power outlet.  If it works in one, but not the other, it would seem to indicate a fault with the outlet.

  • Macbook air usb key - where can I buy one ?

I love that MBA USB Key. It one of the coolest usb keys I've seen. I think apple should make them (empty of course) and sell them ! I'd be the first one to buy one.
Is there anything like that key anywhere ?
I currently have a usb key called 'super-talent' which is sort of similar but it's not the same.

There are literally thousands of options out there:

If you're looking for something similar in format (very thin)...

But there are so many... you can find one in just about any format that you wish.

  • My Macbook air 2011, one line of key board (a to l) do not respond, but when an external keyboard is hooked up these keys starts functioning as normal, after disconnecting the external key board (from the USB) the problem comes back...Please help. Thank y

My Macbook air 2011- key board (a-l) do not respond, but when you hook up an external key board to the usb these keys on the computer also starts functioning as normal and when you disconnect the external key, these keys stops functioning...?

    Perform SMC reset
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • Macbook pro 15-inch 2011 vs. MacBook Air 13-inch 2013

Hello. I currently own a MacBook Pro 15-inch, early 2011 model. It has 8 GB of RAM, a quad-core, 2.3 GHz i7 processor, hi-res, anti-glare display, an AMD 6750m and Intel HD 3000. I bought it off of an Apple product store on Ebay about 3 and a half months ago. It was 1,350$. It was in perfect condition when I bought it, and it still is. I'm really into producing music, and I use Reason 6.5. I also do some other small things on my laptop, like word-processing, web-browsing and I bring it to school everyday. I was wandering if I should sell this laptop on Ebay, and buy a brand-new Macbook Air, 13-inch, 2013 model. The laptop is a little thick and heavy, and its battery-life is nothing compared to the MacBook Air. I really value battery-life I would probably upgrade the RAM to 8 gigs, and maybe upgrade the processor to 1.7 GHz, maybe upgrade the SSD to 256, but I might not. I was wandering if this would be a good idea. How much would I be able to sell this laptop for on Ebay? Is the MacBook Air weaker or stronger than the laptop I am using now? Screen real estate is something that matters a lot when using a music program, which is why I initially went for this laptop. Now, since the MacBook Air is smaller, I know that it displays just as much as this laptop does, so I don't think that the screen size would be that big of a problem. I am thinking about saving up for a 27-inch iMac, which would then be my primary machine, but if I were able to buy one, it wouldn't be for awhile. Anyways, Thanks to anybody who can help me!

    Nice to see you again.
The macbook Air is 'stronger' than the Pro only in terms of containing MUCH fewer parts, far less to fault, easier to repair
both have unibody aluminum alloy frames.

Is the MacBook Air weaker or stronger than the laptop I am using now
Its stronger in alloy form factor, slim design with only ONE moving part, no HD to crash from mechanical failure of impact etc.
Ive got an Imac and current Air, and owned several Air, the air is the hands down choice for myself and I wouldnt part with it for any amount of money.  Also own a couple macbook Pro, new and older one i rebuilt.

    Macbook Air:
Only one moving part, ultrafast boot time SSD, the full power of laptop with the weight of an Ipad (close).
Air is the only Mac that has Haswell, 802ac wifi, and incredible 12hr. batt life in 13" I5. HOWEVER NOW the new Pro have 802ac wifi
Recommend buying the Air with 8gig Ram.
Pack around a regular laptop around about 20 days, then an Air, .....after that the standard laptops stays at home.
Only one moving part, the fan. No moving HD heads to crash or moving platters.  Runs a LOT cooler than anything else out there (which = durability).  Heater is a killer on a scale of 10X over that of accidents.
Also the AIR has far fewer parts to fail inside than a standard laptop.  Really only a few replacement parts
The speakers on the Air, contrary to what most people would assume, are much louder than on the macbook Pro.
The Air in general is faster due to the SSD, also if you have a 802ac Router (i.e. Airport Extreme) then the Air over wifi is a LOT faster.
If youre going to be dragging a notebook around campus all the time, the Air makes things a lot more lovely.
The FINAL consideration of course is your application USE, and needs regarding same (see specs and video above)
The new Air, NOW with Mavericks is just 'king of the hill'. Nothing touches it

So  I have a macbook air and i really need microsoft offie word, but can i download it online in the internet? Thank you if you help me

No. That would be against the law. You have to pay for it.
You can try a free alternative if you like, like open office, but you're not going to instructions on how to commit a crime here.

  • I have an iPad 2, shall I get a macbook air 11'' ?

    Hello,
    I need some advice.
I bought the 1st generation Macbook Air 13'' when it first came out in 2006 - It's been running GREAT until this year the internal battery died and started to expand inside, now causing an air bubble in the center of my keyboard and slowly starting to affect the motherboard (audio no longer working).. it's pretty much useless to me now and fixing it doesn't make any sense.
I decided to buy the iPad2 when it came out last year and since then I haven't found the need to use my Macbook Air (I also have my work ThinkPad so whenever I need a laptop I use that one) - I've become so reliant on my iPad that I no longer need a laptop for personal use.
However, I've been considering buying the new generation Macbook Air 11'' just because I love the computer - I'm not entirely able to justify this purchase but I absolutely want it. Can anyone who owns both tell me WHEN/WHY I'd need my macbook air and not my iPad? In what situations do you find yourself needing your laptop as opposed to your iPad?
Also, I'm waiting for the iPhone 5 to come out in June or August and will hopefully buy it then.
    Any advise? thanks!

I find the Air easier to work with if I need a keyboard if, for no other reason, that's more compact to carry around than the iPad and a keyboard, even one that is part of an iPad case.  I also often have to access data from one application when using another, and iOS is not at its best when having to do rapid application switching (Command-Tab switching is a lot faster than the double press home, scroll the icons at the bottom and swap).
As well, for editing I find the lack of sandboxing on OSX allows for efficiency enhancing utilities across applications, something you don't get in iOS.  I understand the reason for that, but while more secure it also creates issues of its own in terms of usability in a number of situations.
I prefer the iPad for totally single application focused situations where little or no input is required.  I use my iPad to hold copies of manuals when I'm doing a full day continuing education presentation for CPAs.  A MacBook Aire can't really fill in very easily for that usage.
I see them each as tools appropriate for different jobs.
