Macbook pro c2d dissipate heat through the keyboard?
The reason im asking if the mbp c2d lets heat out thru the keyboard is because I've been using it in clamshell mode (with the lid closed and connected to a monitor)
I left the white film laying on the inside covering the keyboar. The film is that white cover that that protects the keyboard and screen for new laptop. It was intentional just to keep it mint, but is that ok?
Yes but minimally, so it won't affect its use on clamshell mode. I would however remove the white film inside as this does interfere with airflow through the small space between the keyboard and display.
One very low tech gadget that I used to keep the lid of my PowerBook propped open was an eraser. The reason was that I never liked it closed without a keyboard/display protector (RadTech ScreenSavrz) so the next best thing for me was to prop it open just a bit.

I have a new macbook pro about a month old. Have not used for anything but internet browsing it is a 15" machine, I can feel the heat from the left corner and back bottom. Also, the fan is constantly running. Is this something I can do to resolve.
Fans are supposed to run whenever the Mac is on. Default/minimun speed is 2000RPM.
How hot is hot? Mine is running the CPU cores at 45-50C, the Radeon GPU 35-40C when not engaged, the chassis sensors 30-38C. And current ambient temperature is 27C at my location. I currently have Safari, Mail, TextEdit and Temperature Monitor online.

If you want a detailed view of the 20 or so different temperature sensors on the thing, download & install Bresink's free Temperature Monitor. Can my NEW MacBook Pro mirror my MacMini through the Time Capsule?
I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro w/Retina Display. I also have a MacMini about one year old which is tied to my Time Capsule for backup. What process does it take to make certain that tasks I perform on either device will sync with one another? In other words, I would like the data on both to be identical as tasks are performed such as that which happens with the iPhone, iPad etc when an address is changed for example within the Contacts. Thanks!
As long as they're all logged into iCloud with the same account, they should all show the same Calendar, contacts, etc.

Macbook Pro C2D 15,4" on order - Should I worry about the display?
I have ordered the new Macbook Pro C2D 15,4" and I read the numerous threads here about the display quality. I have just selled my CD Macbook Pro 15,4" so I want to ask you all here, is there a difference between the new and the previous model, or do you think that both are grainy?
I personally found the display of the Macbook Pro CD very good and I hope that the new is at least as good as that one.My advice to you is check it out before you buy it. I've gone to 4 different apple stores or resellers and all the ones I've seen on display have unevenly back lit displays. You can tell the cd from the cd2 from the lighting. Its very obvious as you take a look at them side by side. You'll notice what i mean if you look at the very bottom corners of the display. There is more light coming through than the rest of the screen and this is very annoying. There also seems to be burn marks at the very corners, they are faint and gray but also noticable. In fact there seems to be a bar of light that looks like a reflection of the macbook pro, but is actually uneven lighting all the way across the bottom. Definately bad. I went through 3 17" macbook pros cd2 at the store and all 3 of them exhibited the same uneven lighting. So then i went with a 15" but that too had the same problems. I'm going to wait it out for another month or so. I love the macbook pros, but I want to spend my money on a good product.

i am deleting files through my trash in my macbook pro (2010) and then emptying the trash can, but my hard disk space is not increasing! i recently upgraded to lion and the problem is new, wasn't the same with snow leopard! HELP!!!!!

Disable your AirPort and enable in a second. Or check, maybe you need to type in correct digits in; Settings/Network/Advanced/Configure...

My Macbook Pro Retina display heats up and makes a certain sea wave like noise. what could the issue be?
You should have a backup in the first place. If you don't, buy an external drive (they're inexpensive these days) and make a Time Machine or a clone backup (using Carbon Copy Cloner).
Then take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and let them diagnose the computer. See if they can isolate what may possibly be making the 'clicking' sound.

My macbook pro does not print through my PC to my EPSON RX 500 after loading OS X 10.7.4. It shows on the print queue "error" However, it will print if I directly connect my laptop to this printer via the USB connection. Any ideas?
It's all about setting up what ever version of windows you have running on your pc to share the printer. If you still get stuck post in a windows forum for help.

My Macbook pro(2010) is not reading the internal Hard Drive. At first I thought it to be a hard drive gone bad, so i bought a new hard drive. My macbook is still not reading the Hard Drive. I am able to use the original hard drive through a external(USB) connection. Also, when the macbook turns, there is a redelling sound. Can anyone offer me any suggestions to what the problem might be?It sounds like the internal cable connecting the HDD to the logic board is improperly connected or faulty. An appointment at an Apple genius bar might be a good option. The repair should not be too expensive.

If you have connected the TV to your Mac through Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt and your computer doesn't support audio over that port, you have to connect external speakers -
Hello All,
I have a 15" i7 Macbook Pro from early 2011. The past few weeks, it has been getting increasingly difficult to get on my computer. It takes the mac laptop two or three tries to boot successfully. It would turn on, show gray screen, shut down, turn on again, show gray screen, shutdown, and then turn on, show gray screen, before it can finally get to the dark gray log-in screen. Even when I finally get logged in to start working, thinking it would be okay now, it shuts down randomly.
I've ruled out the possibility of a software problem because I've just done a clean re-install of Mac OS X Mavericks on my computer just yesterday.
I did upgrade the RAM recently, about a month and a half ago, from 4GB to 16GB, I went to the apple store four days after that upgrade to have them do a hardware test, and clean the inside of my laptop, which helped with previous heat issues. When they did the hardware test, the hardware was all registered as fine from their system.
I've tried resetting the SMC, PRAM, and doing the internet recovery hardware test, but to no avail. I thought I could at least find out what parts needed to be replaced from the hardware test but it seems that when the hardware test is almost finished, the computer just shuts down, So I am unable to see the results.
My computer is also having battery issues, under battery condition, it says "replace now," parts have been ordered, waiting for arrival. But if the battery health is low, it should still boot up fine, it would just hold a significantly less charge.
Could this be a hard drive issue?
Has anyone had similar symptoms and how was it resolved?
Does anyone know what I can do to alleviate this issue?
I haven't had time to take it to Apple because I'm currently taking a 21 credit semester academically. I'm an art and design student so my computer is basically the bane of my existence. Help! Any constructive advice is welcomed!
