MacBook Pro change background autmatically

I have  problem with my MacBook Pro.
Since today the background image of my desktop changes automatically.
Means that i have one of the standard background black and white pictures and after a few seconds the
background image is gone and it is blue.
Checking it in the properties results that the picture is still aktivated but not shown.
If I change the picture now he will show me the new one for a few seconds and become again blue.
Also writing this text is very lazy and sometimes it stops or i have a delay withe the letters.
I have started the dock new but nothing happened.

I think I have found a part of the problem.
After I have uninstall the Microsoft Office 2011 and restarted the system the background picture has not changed anymore.
Now I have installed it again and the background is still OK but the delay while typing is a problem.

  • Why does my MacBook Pro make background music and video quieter when I am on FaceTime?

Why does my MacBook Pro make background music and video quieter when I am on FaceTime? When my girlfriend and I are trying to watch a movie on Netflix together while on FaceTime my MacBook Pro always decreases the volume of any background sound on my computer so I can barely hear it. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you!

Have the same issue too. Apple can you please change this annoying feature. You are making long distance relationships more difficult.
I like how Facetime was with the old iOS, where nothing was dimmed. OR at least maybe if you could give users the option to turn on or off dimming of facetime.

The following may help you understand about deleting photos from a library:
Deleting Photos from an iPhoto Library:
1 - from an Event or the Photos mode: select the photo(s) and use the Delete key to move the photos to the trash bin. Then empty the iPhoto Trash bin as follows:
2 - from an album, smart album, book, slideshow, card, etc.: select the photo(s) and use the key combination of Command+Option+Delete to move the photos to the trash bin.  Then empty the trash bin as above.
NOTE: deleting a photo from an album, slideshow, book, etc., with only the Delete key only deletes that photo from that item. Deleting a photo from an Event deletes ALL occurences of that photo in the library.

  • TS3048 The keypad is not registering with my macbook pro - changed batteries but still not working.  Bluetooth says it is connected.  Suggestions please.

My bluetooth numeric keypad is not registering with my macbook pro - changed the batteries when the light started blinking - but won't work.  Bluetooth says it is connected.
    Suggestions please.

Your MBP sees the Bluetooth keyboard but won't pair with it probably because the keyboard is pairing with another computer or device nearby. If you had previously paired the same keyboard with another device, go to the other computer or device and either unpair it or have the device "forget" the keyboard. Then you will be able to pair the keyboard with your MBP.

  • Mid 2010 Macbook Pro - Change MTU size kills internet (Jumbo Frames)

Hi everyone, i'm hoping someone here can enlighten or help me solve my problem I'm having.
I am trying to change my MTU size to enable Jumbo frames on my 13 inch Mid 2010 Macbook Pro. I recently bought a ReadyNAS Ultra and would like to speed up transfers to the unit.
    My setup is as follows:
I have my ReadyNAS Ultra 2 and 2010 Macbook Pro (Core 2 Duo) wired via cat6 ethernet to my 5th Generation Apple Airport Extreme. The Airport Extreme is connected via cat5e to my AT&T Uverse Gateway which is set up to allow my Airport to assign DHCP and NAT (gateway is in bridge mode with wireless off).
Anyways, I have enabled Jumbo frames on my ReadyNAS, when I enable them on my MBP.. it applies fine. It disconnects / reconnects the ethernet like it should, but then my connection drops. I can't see any devices on my LAN and I cannot access any internet websites, but according to the network pane I am still assigned a valid dhcp address. When I manually try to increase my MTU size, the same thing happens (from 9000 to 1600 I tried every size).....
Could it be my MBP just can't suppose the increase of MTU size? It leaves them at 1500 when I set it to automatic... if it doesn't support the increased MTU size, why would it let me custom change the MTU and even give an option to select "Jumbo Frames (9000)"?
I appreciate any help in advance!!

  • OS upgrade on macbook pro changed two-finger scrolling direction

I just upgraded my macbook pro to Mountain Lion and the scrolling direction on the track pad has changed.  Now when I drag my fingers down to scroll down on a page, it goes up, not down anymore.  And if I drag up, the page goes down.  How do I fix it?  I'm used to the other way!!

That's Apple's idioc "natural scrolling" which isn't natural at all.
Hopefully with Scott Forstall hitting the highyway, our good friend Jony Ive will fix everything that's wrong with OS X Lions.

  • MacBook Pro: change registration/user?

I bought a Macbook Pro online (eBay). It s still new, and has a AppleCare warranty up to 2012. It was preinstalled with lots of softwares that why I bought it.
I know when you first buy a Macbook, the first time it boots up you'll be asked to type your name, email and registration.
Since my Mac has been opened and programs installed, I didn't see the first time boot uo. How can I change the registration info?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Boot to single user mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
    2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each command line:
    /sbin/fsck -yf
If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command until you do. If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message, then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
    mount -uw /
    cd /private/var/db/netinfo
    mv local.nidb local.old
    rm ../.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.

  • PC to MacBook Pro Changes Photo Colors

I have a photo biz and have switched from a PC using Adobe Elements to a MacBook Pro using Adobe Photoshop CS2. The colors popped on my PC, and they look flat when I post the pics to my site using the MacBook Pro. Help! I need to post these pics ASAP!

Have you checked what colour management you're doing in Photoshop?
Do you save files with their colour profile embedded? I initially was a little confused by this when I switched to a mac.
One thing to note, Mac's have a different gamma to PC's, so some images might look a little washed out compared to the rich dark colours on a PC.
Don't worry, viewed from a PC those images will most probably still look the same, that is, still rich and vibrant.
You have to remember that Windows doesn't really implement any colour managment in most of its applications. So apps like Internet Explorer ignore any image's colour profiles. While in MacOSX everything is colour managed. And if an image has no colour profile attached, it defaults to the monitor profile.
    Personally I understand how this works, it's just a little hard to explain, sorry ^^;

  • Macbook pro changes to read-only?

My roommate has a mid 2008 15" macbook pro and everything was going fine with it until 2 weeks ago, when it wouldn't boot. So I reformatted and clean installed Snow Leopard and migrated his files using Migration Assistant and everything seemed fine until 2 days later and he couldn't save anything from any program because it said there was not enough free space to save, however Get Info says there is 180gb remaining on his 250gb drive. So again I reformatted by zeroing-out the data to remove any bad sectors in the drive and reinstalled snow leopard. This time I didn't use migration assistant because it seemed like his previous file system could be corrupt. We could save and there were no problems until the next morning, and we get errors when trying to save a document that say "there is not enough free space", but again get info on the hard drive shows 230gb of free space). The computer functions normally, but it won't index itself or save files from Safari, Office, iLife, etc.
It seems like this drive goes to read only because we cannot save. We are going to try another hard drive, but I was wondering if any of you guys have ever seen this issue? Could it possibly be a bigger issue than a hard drive that it only a year and a half old?
    Any help is appreciated,
    Brendan

Not sure without more info(console log messages, smart status, system profiler info)but it sounds as if you may have a failing Hard Drive, if you had another drive that would be the best way to test. Good Luck

  • Macbook Pro changing wallpaper automatically when I log out and in?

    Hi
Whenever I go on my laptop and change the wallpaper, when I turn it off and then turn it on again, it has changed to another wallpaper. It changes to the same wallpaper all the time, and I made sure that I hadn't checked "change every 30 min" or something like that and I hadn't. What's the problem?
    Thanks

I was able to change mine, and have it stay after rebooting when I used IPhoto to select background picture.  It may be temporary but I was too very tired of my background picture and I hope it stays until there is a fix.

  • Macbook pro changes user picture on its own . Help please.

Does this mean I have some sort of malware?
Reccently my mac started changing my user photo on its own. Even more strangely the photos are only from photobooth.

You likely have a corrupt cache file someplace in OS X.
    12: OnyX cache cleaning
This routine cleans all possible corrupt caches, doesn't delete your data or programs.
Apple doesn't include a easy for the user, system wide cache cleaning process in OS X, something they need to consider implementing.
So we have to depend upon third party software to do this and the best, time tested and free one is OnyX
Sometimes a corrupted cache file can cause strange behavior, slow machine, Dock and fonts doesn't work, beachballs effect, something won't install, Safari acting up etc., just general strangeness that can't be explained. Web browsing slow when all the other machines are fast etc.,
Use the free OnyX matching your OS X version and run all the initial checks
Run all the maintenance and cleaning aspects (except don't delete the log files) and reboot at the end (must)
If any of the initial checks OnyX does gives a warning, then Stop and report, you have a serious drive or other issue.
This will give OS X a enema of sorts (won't delete file or programs) and let it rebuild all the cache and other files, including Spotlight.
You must be through running all the maintenance and cleaning aspects as this is a "catch all" method and any number of corrupted caches may be responsible for your issues. Don't worry, OS X will work fine (and likely faster again) after the caches are cleaned out and rebuilt from their original sources provided you REBOOT when finished using OnyX.
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11582/onyx    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OnyX
    List of proven OnyX successes:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18377471?ac_cid=sa123456#18377471
OnyX also has a Verify > Preferences
(plist) file checker, show the corrupt ones and write them down. So while your in OnyX cleaning your caches, check for corrupted plist files too for the next step below.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
