Mail Bouncebacks

Hi
Messages are being sent within a network (internal), colleagues are forwarding messages to each other. When the receiving
colleague wants to answer to the original mail (via Mailto:[email protected]) it fails.
The bounceback is always the same:
Your message did not reach some or all
recipients.
subject:
Sent: 20/03/2012
15:06
The following recipient (s) could not be reached:
  [email protected]
You can not use any e-mail account to send
to this recipient"
This happens on our Exchange 2010 platform
and have just seen an instance on our 2013 platform.
Any ideas at all?

Hi Kems92,
I recommend you refer to the following method to clear the autocompletion cache in outlook ,and check the result:
File > Options > Mail > Send Messages > Empty Autocomplete List

  • Dropping connection from inbound mail

About 2 days ago our server stopped being willing to receive messages from one of our client's outbound servers. Sometimes they receive a message bounceback immediately, other times in several hours or overnight. No changes were made to our server or mail configuration and we are successfully receiving messages from numerous other folks to the same address without issue.
Included below is an excerpt of the mail.log file showing an attempted connect to our server and then "immediate" loss of connection. I have tried restarting the mail service and rebooting the server (10.5.4). Does this look like an issue at our end or their's? If ours, any thoughts on cause and cure? Note also that we're behind a Cisco Pix, but no changes have been there for a considerable period either and the "no fixup protocol smtp 25" is set. We are not running spam filtering.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Brian

Always fun to answer your own question. It turns out that the application of the "no fixup protocol smtp 25" to the Pix seems to have resolved this issue. Very odd I must say, because the "fixup" had been active since setting the unit up years ago... Nonetheless, mail from this client is coming through now (including the backlog...oh joy).

  • Returned mail

I am getting mail returned for no apparent reason, other than they always appear to be sent to msn.com addresses. One of the addresses was actually sent to msn.com but returned as hotmail.com (??). There were several other email addresses (aol, comcast, .mac) that were delivered fine. Here is the text of the returned mail:

    What gives? Thanks.

Hi, just came to the boards to see if I could get help as I have inexplicably begun having this exact same issue with one msn.com email I correspond with frequently (a good friend). Up to now, no issues. It's a good friend and we email back and forth frequently.
    Did you ever get resolution?
Strange for me is I sent an email just this a.m., had just gotten a response this eve and replied back to get the bounceback message as you quote. I wonder if my friend didn't somehow unknowingly invoke settings? Hard to imagine, but I don't know msn.com . Thanks

  • Roadrunner e-mail just doubled?????

My roadrunner e-mail account on my iPhone 4s just doubled every e-mail that I have. It shows that I have over 1,800 new e-mails, but these are old e-mails that I've read and/or deleted. What would cause this and why would it double every single e-mail that I have on this account? I hit edit and selected all and mark as read, but I still have all of these old messages in my account now.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks,
    J

Are you getting an error when trying to send the message or are you getting a bounceback after it's sent? What error are you getting?

  • Overriding Bounceback Ver. for Selected Third Party Senders

We are happily using bounceback verification. However, we have a group here that has hired a third party to send out survey emails for them. We would like the undeliverables from these mailings to come back to us.
Has anyone successfully configured this? At Ironport's suggestion, I have created a mail flow policy that accepts untagged bounces. Then I created a sender group that uses this policy and added the 3rd party's IP as the sender. I put this sender group 2nd in the list (if that matters) after Whitelist but above Blacklist, suspectlist, etc. However, the untagged test undeliverable still does not come back through.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sparky

Everything you've done by adding a customized Sendergroup/Mail flow policy(ie. Accept-Untagged-Bounces-Sendergroup) is fine.
More than likely, the IP, hostname, or partial hostname that you entered is not matching against those undeliverables that are coming back. See if you can obtain any of those undeliverables and see what IP / hostname it is when it makes contact with the Ironport appliance.
Also, you can try search for the IP address that you entered in for those customized sendergroups.
On the command line of your ironport appliance, type this:
    grep -i "IP_Address" mail_logs
If they connect, you should see their IP addresses with respect to ICID's.
ICID's represent when outgoing servers connect to your Ironport appliance.
Here is an example of what it may look like:
Tue May 13 13:29:53 2008 Info: New SMTP ICID 4 interface Management (74.201.91.95) address 10.251.0.73 reverse dns host bungalow.sfo.ironport.com verified yes
Tue May 13 13:29:53 2008 Info: ICID 4 REJECT SG BLACKLIST match test.ironport.com SBRS None
    then type this:
grep -i "ICID 4" mail_logs to get more information.
Feel free to paste back when you get from the logs and I'll help analyze.

  • Bulk mail filter

I cannot send or reply to a frequent email address. It is now being blocked as bulk mail by the filter. It is not brown for junk, it does not show up in the junk folder. I have tried sending having disabled junk mail filter and reeive same error message. I have restarted. I have sent to reply all, as this is sent and returned to members of a committee all fromdifferent organizations. All but this one send will receive my reply and/or new message. Any suggestions appreciated.

This sounds like something at your or his mail provider, rather than something that Apple Mail is doing. Ideally, I'd want to see more detail in that error message, which may indicate where exactly the message is being sent from and how to rectify the problem.
If you get this kind of "bounceback" error mail when you send mail to him, that suggests that his mail provider is blocking your email.
If you can't receive his emails, that suggests that your email provider is blocking his mail.
This kind of "spam block" is often done automatically, if a lot of email is sent or received from certain kinds of email addresses. Usually, you can contact the mail provider and have them remove the block.
    Matt

  • Google bounces back mail containing Pages document

In the upgrade to Maverick and the Pages (5.0?) upgrade, mail being sent to a gmail account are consistently being bounced back, with Google claming that it almost certainly contains spam.
In earlier searches for answers, Google claimed that it was a defect in Apple's product; not THEIR fault, in otherwords. But it is still ongoing.
How and when will this issue be resolved?
    Below is the bounceback message:
Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred
Diagnostic code: smtp;552-5.7.0 This message was blocked because its content presents a potential issue. Please visit http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answe to review our message content and attachment content guidelines. k8si3219220paw.102 - gsmtp
    Remote system: dns;gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com (TCP|17.172.220.237|47648|173.194.79.26|25) (mx.google.com ESMTP k8si3219220paw.102 - gsmtp)

I think it's got to do with the fact that the new .pages files are actually packages. (Right click on the file in the Finder and you'll see an option to "Show Package Contents.") Google and others (Mozy, for instance) aren't recognizing the packages as vaild files, as far as I've been able to learn.
I fear that both sides, Apple and the others, are going to simply point fingers (i.e. not my problem) and nothing will get done.
The new files are being referred to as the unified file format.

  • Intermittent bouncebacks going through our relay provider

We recently moved our users to new Exchange servers and have been seeing intermittent bouncebacks after going through our relay provider. We're not on any blacklists, nor blocked by external recipients SPAM provider. Our relay provider is having trouble
figuring out why this is happening. Some intermittent bounceback examples:
    - user reply's to external recipient message and gets bounceback
    - users sends a single email with multiple recipients in the same domain and gets a bounceback from one of the users
    - user gets bounceback from an external user he has mailed successfully many times before (and even within the hour)
Running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8. All mail flows from the same IP and configuration (we moved from physical servers to virtual but the virtual have new name and IP). We're setup correctly with our Relay with login and have updated our SPF record. 99.99% of
external mail goes through fine. I can see our message gets handed to our relay provider.
Any suggestions or ideas on what to look at appreciated.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your update.
Based on the NDR message, it seems that the recipients' server reject your emails.
Please check whether you are in blacklist. Tool:

  • How can I disable sending from one Mail account?

Hello. I have a gmail account that I use to subscribe to various newsletters and accounts. So it's essentially a read-only account for me. But I too frequently accidently send mail from that account. Is there a way to prevent mail from being sent from that account?

I want to do the same thing as the OP.  I have tried making outgoing server none. And checking "always use this server so it prompts me to edit the message so that I manually select a different address to send from inthe drop down list. And selecting a different account for composing.  Actually, all my outgoing emails keep coming from the one account I am attempting to disable.  Got any other ideas?

  • How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?

How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?
Have an Exchange mail account setup and accessible in my mail on iPad... however my kids use it and i would like to restrict them from accessing this specific portion of the device.  I tried viewing restriction options and do not see that i can apply a restriction specifically to Mail.  Thanks for your help.

Not a feature of iOS. Check the AppStore to see if there are other
mail apps that allow passcode protection.
Or use Safari to log onto your email via a web-based interface and
enter your credentials each time. A bit slower, but the kids will
not know the details to login.

  • How can I move an e mail account from one family pack to another

I have an e mail address (not main family pack e mail address) and I would like to move it to another family pack. Is this possible and if so how?
    Thanks

Caroline12, Welcome to the discussion area!
I believe that your question is about a Mobile Me family pack account. If that is true, I believe that the answer is no.
But your probably should post your question in the Apple.com > Support > Discussions > MobileMe discussion area.

  • How can I display not only one account's mail but all in the central inbox?

I am changing from OSX (machines with OSX 1.8.5 and Mavericks) mail to Thunderbird.
However, one feature of OSX Mail I can't find in Thunderbird or have overseen it:
I use several mail accounts, that OSX Mail is showing me on top level in one general inbox.
Below that level, I can of course jump into the different accounts if needed to read mails only related to that account.
Is there a similar view in Thunderbird?
    Thanks for any help

  • Filename in sender Mail Adapter

    Hi Experts,
    Brief about Scenario:
Invoice generated with PDF format in R/3 system and send to  mail box.  XI  pick that file from mail box  and deposited in SFTP Server.
    Landscape in XI end.
    Mailbox - - -  XI 7.0 - - - SFTP
The file name generated with CompanyCode_InvoiceType_InvoiceNumber.PDF from R/3 system. So that Same file name should be deposited in SFTP Server  . Here CompanyCode and InvoiceType are static and invoiceNumber generated dynamically with PDF format.
My question is How to get file name from mail box.
    Thanks in advance.

Hups. I forgot what was your main problem
To get attachment file name you can try to implement you own adapter module as described [here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/Adapter%20Module%20PI%207.0%20Get%20Attachment%20Name?bc=true]:
I found it in this [thread|Need to get the Mail attachment name as it is to the receiver file adapter;.
Please check that thread. The question is "not answered" but the last post states it was solved that way.
