Mail Client?

I sometimes get the following message when trying to contact some businesses:  Could not perform this operation because mail client is not property installed.  What does this mean, and how do I correct it?  I use the Verizon Message Center.

If you are using https://mail.verizon.com/webmail/driver?nimlet=showmessages&view=emails#mail_Emails_INBOX
there are no settings AFA I know to correct this. Normally that comes up if you click on a link embedded in a web page and you do not have a 3rd party email client such as outlook. A work around is to right click the link and it may show the email address that you can copy and past into your Verizon webmail interface. hope this helps.

    When trying to open Outlook in Win 8.1 I get the error message:
    "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
    It eventually opens but none of my Mail accounts load. When I click on one of the accounts I get
    "Cannot expand the folder. Internet mail is not registered properly. Re-install and try again."
    Outlook is set with all its defaults. I've tried going through the Repair routine for Microsoft Office but it doesn't help.

    Hi,
    To delete a profile, you may try the steps below:
    Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps
    carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
    1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command.
    2. Type regedit in the Open field and click OK.
    3. Locate the key then right click on it and choose Rename:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem
    4. Type OLD at the end of the name.
    5. Try opening Outlook and it may prompt that you need to create a new profile.
    I hope this can help.

  • Either there is no default mail client of the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request-----error Outlook 2010

    I've tried EVERYTHING suggested in this link (http://blog.timolthof.com/outlook-no-default-mail-client-error/) and everything google and bing and still this message keeps popping up.  Now when I do a windows search for email, I'm not able to view
    the email due to this message.
    For the record, I am running W7 Ultimate x64 and connected via Excange Server.  I do have another system that is running Office 2010 with none of these problems so I don't know if it's related to Exchange though the searches I've done don't allude
    to that.
    What's up?

    Hi,
    I understand that when you tried to open Outlook 2010 beta on the Windows 7 64-bit computer, you encountered the following error:
    "Either there is not default mail client of the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and
    set it as the default mail client."
    You have checked the settings under the registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
    I understand the inconvenience you have encountered and appreciate the time and effort you spent on this issue. Please be assured that I
    will try my best to help you.
    Now let’s troubleshoot the issue by the suggestions below. Please check the results after each suggestion until the problem is resolved.
    Suggestion 1: manually set Outlook 2010 as the default e-mail client on Windows 7:
    ===================
    1.
    Click Start.
    2.
    Type "default programs" in the
    Search box.
    3.
    Click Default Programs under
    Programs in the search results.
    4.
    Now click Set your default programs.
    5.
    Highlight Microsoft Outlook on the left.
    6.
    Click Set this program as default.
    7.
    Click OK.
    Suggestion 2: Start the Outlook program in safe mode
    ==============
    1.
    Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to
    Microsoft Office.
    2.
     Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the Outlook program you want to start.
    If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Outlook program, we can try
    to disable them. Normally, you could do the following to disable the conflict add-ins in your Outlook program:
    Disable add-ins
    Click
    File menu, click Options >
    Add-in, click Go button in the Manage:
    Com-in Add.
    Check if there are any add-ins,
    clear the checkbox to disable them.
    Close the Office program and
    restart it.
    Add one check back each time to the list of Add-In,
    restart the Office program, and repeat the above procedure. Once the issue reappears again, we can determine which add-in causes this problem and then disable it.
    Suggestion 3: Test the issue with a new Windows user account
    ==============
    We can follow the steps in the articles to create a new user account to test the issue. If the problem does not occur in the new user account, some settings
    in the old account are corrupted. We can copy the main user files from the old account to the new account, delete the old account, and then continue using the new account.
    For the detailed steps on how to create a new user account and copy data from the old account to the new account, you can refer to the following articles:
    For Windows Vista/Windows 7:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile
    Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. . If anything is unclear or if there
    is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

  • Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run ...

    Lync 2013 generates repeated messages stating “Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.”. Events that
    seem to generate messages is disconnecting and re-connecting to a network but it also happens randomly and the messages will stack up during a working day. Everything seem to work OK but it is an annoyance.  The computer is upgraded (uninstalled first)
    from Office 2013 ProPlus to Office 365 ProPlus. Outlook (Desktop) is default mail client. 64-bit Windows 8.1 Enterprise, 64-bit Office (both before upgrade and after).
    (Links removed to remediations I've tried)
    Made no difference what so ever and the messages continue. What's next?
    I posted the above to the Office 2013 forum (unfortunately I'm not allowed yet to post a link to that posting) but due to the fact that the computer affected by this is a networked domain computer I've been redirected to this group instead.  I
    was asked some additional questions ing the other forum regarding the problem:
    Are you able to send mails from other applications like Word or Excel?
    NO
    Is the PC connected to any Domain/Server? YES
    Is this an issue with one PC only. NO - affects all computers that once had Office 2013 Pro Plus installed and now has Office 365 Pro Plus (Originally I posted this question in the Office 365 community but was directed to first the Office
    2013 forum and now this forum)
    Right click on any file and Click on Send to-> Mail Recipient and check if you are able to send mails using Outlook.
    NO
    Also check if the Lync add-in is enabled in Outlook.
    Start Outlook
    Click the File tab.
    Go to Options.
    Click Add-ins.
    Check if the Lync add-in is enabled. YES
    My last posting in the other forum contained the following additional information regarding our problem:
    As far as we can see installing 32-bit Office 365 Pro Plus using click to run makes no difference.
    We do not send any mails from Lync, Lync is however the process that generates the message most frequently (as Lync seem to react upon network events).
    Other processes that have Outlook plugins may also be the parent of the message popup (third party applications).
    Yes the Lync add-in is enabled. Lync functionality in/from Outlook seem unaffected.
    It is not possible to send emails from other applications (explorer, word, excel etc.) ie. right clicking and send to generates the messages and
    a follow up error message concerning lack of MAPI enabled e-mail.

  • Since iOS 8.1.2 upgrade problems with yahoo mail via apple mail client

    Since the upgrade to iOS 8.1.2 on my iPad I'm having issues with my yahoo mail account when using the apple mail client. I can send emails but cannot receive them. When I use the yahoo mail app there is no problem Sending or receiving. I have deleted and reinstalled my yahoo email account from the apple mail client. I have checked the wifi by changing between wifi hotspots. I have also restarted the iPad as well as resetting. None of these actions have resolved the problem. would appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

    Do you use two-step verification for your Yahoo! account? If yes, you need an app-specific password.
    If no, make sure your password is already entered in the "Outgoing Mail Server" in the Settings app.

  • Sending email using system default mail client

    I'm working on a project right now, and I have no desire to develop a new mailing system. What would be very convienient for me is to have a call, opening the systems default mail client. Preferrably with some of the fields, like "to" and "Subject" being specifed by me.
    I'm not really aware of how the JavaMail system works, but it seems to me like a backend API, able to transmit the mail, but not much else.
    Could anyone give some hints on how to open the system default mailer?

    I found this example here. Seems pretty good - just what I was looking for too!
    from https://jdic.dev.java.net/documentation/Examples.html
    Case# 6: Launch the system default mailer and send the constructed message with UI or without UI.
    import java.util.List;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import org.jdesktop.jdic.desktop.Desktop;
    import org.jdesktop.jdic.desktop.DesktopException;
    import org.jdesktop.jdic.desktop.Message;
    public class MailTest {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Message msg = new Message();
            List toList = new ArrayList();
            toList.add("[email protected]");
            msg.setToList(toList);
            List ccList = new ArrayList();
            ccList.add("[email protected]");
            ccList.add("[email protected]");
            msg.setCcList(ccList);
            msg.setSubject("Hello");
            msg.setBody("Test");
            List attachList = new ArrayList();
            attachList.add("C:\\test\\test.txt");
            msg.setAttachmentList(attachList);
            try {
                // Send mail in UI mode.
                Desktop.mail(msg);
            } catch (DesktopException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();

  • Sending email using system default mail client on linux and Mac

    Want to send e-mail using defalut mail client of Linux, Mac OSX, others.

    Your question may be about mail, and your question may be about Java,
    but the JavaMail library can't do what you're asking.
    I know of no platform-independent way to do what you're asking.
    You can write lots of platform-dependent code - to do it with Outlook
    on Windows, to do it with AppleMail on MacOS, to do it with Thunderbird
    on Linux - but I know of no way to do it with whatever mail client the
    user has configured on any system.
    Sorry.

  • Can't setup POP3 E-mail on mail client on my MacBook Pro

    So this problem is getting really out of hand and I'm not sure what options I have left. So here are the details:
    I'm trying to set up my work e-mail (the site host is Network Solutions) with Mail. There seem to be no problems with the online client. I can sign on without any troubles so password and username are correct. I'm using Mail 4.4. I first enter my name, e-mail, and password with no problems. Then for the incoming mail server I do the same, choosing POP, and I get the following message:
    "The POP server "mail.companysite.com" (with the proper domain inserted) is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages."
    i get this regardless if i put my username as just username or [email protected] and my network connection is fine as my other e-mail accounts (2 gmails set up as IMAP) work just fine. I've tried using different ports other than the default 110. Still the same problem.
    An interesting little quirk is that at one point it actually did work, then suddenly without any changes to anything that I could tell, it stopped. When it was working, I had it set up on my iPod touch and even when it stopped on my computer it kept working on my iPod. But that also didn't last as now I can no longer connect or even set it up.
    But wait! There's more. I've tried all the different debugging methods I can come up with, including trying to set it up on different e-mail clients, Entourage and Thunderbird, with the same result. Then I eventually tried it on another computer, on a PC running Windows XP, and wouldn't you know it, it set up without a hitch! so this means that my account is properly set up for this. Furthermore, I know it is possible to use an e-mail client on a mac with this domain as one of my coworkers has set it up on Entourage and Mail as well as his iPhone. I have no firewall settings currently on so nothing should be blocking and i've tried it using several different internet connections in different countries (seemingly then it's not a router or modem issue)
    Anyone have any ideas? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Let me know if there's any more info you would need me to provide.

    Create a New User Account, and as that New User try to set up this one account -- as it is POP, set to leave messages on the server after download. If not familiar with setting up a New User Account, see:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8235.html
    This will be a useful test, and is not meant to suggest a permanent switch to the New User Account, but rather a test of the Mail application outside of your normal User Account.
    Also in System Preferences/Networks click on Advanced, then Proxies and make sure no proxy selections have been checked.

  • Office 2013 Pro - Error Message - I cannot set Office 2013 as the default mail client

    I have a number of PCs on a single domain in the same office all running Windows 7 Pro.  Some at 64 bit and some are 32 bit depending on their age.
    My issue is that on upgrading from Officer 2010 Pro to Office 2013 Pro, the only application I have a problem with is Outlook 2013, and only on the 64 bit machines.   The upgrade on 32 bit machine goes perfectly.   On both I install the
    32 bit version of Office 2013 as per the MS notes.
    When the 64 bit machines reboot and the user logs on I get the message, sometimes twice:
    Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfil the message request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
    OK, so this should be straight forward:
    I set outlook at the default mail client and associate all file with it from Outlook\File\Option.  Nope.  That does not work.
    I go through default programs and set the default mail client as Office 2013 and associate all file with it from Outlook.   Nope.  That does not work.
    I check the registry and it shows that the 64 bit or 32 bit reversion is the default mail client.  So that does not help.
    I install the 64 bit version instead of the 32 bit version. Nope.  That does not work.
    I clean the registry and temp file.  Nope.  That does not work.
    I set a new mail profile for the user. Nope.  That does not work.
    Odd that it only upgrades smoothly on the 32 bit machines.
    Has anyone got any ideas?   All the suggested fixes on this forum do not fix this issue.

    Hello.
    Same problem, nothing Works!!!
    Help please, really frustrated and angry.
    Added written above   I tried:
    Uninstalled with the Microsoft fix uninstall
    and reinstall. This does not work.
    Contact the phone technical support. This
    does not work.
    Addin,s does not work. Adobe, iCloud Addin ....  does not work.
    'Send email to'   menu   does not work.
    No application communicates with
    Outlook, no Microsoft  or third  apps.
    I can only send and receive emails
    from within Outlook.
    This program is lousy, any

  • [solved] XFCE default mail client

    In preferred applications in the XFCE settings manager the two simple questions appeared: default web browser and default mail client.  I set these to firefox and thunderbird respectively, and XFCE indeed recognized that I meant Bon Echo and Mail/News. For the strangest reason, every hyperlink to an HTTP or FTP protocol will indeed open up in firefox and go where it should, but mailto links will do nothing.  In firefox I searched about:config for all options containing the world "mail" and set them to enable as many things as possible.  Gmail is smart enough to open mailto links because it overrides the default mail client behaviour and just opens up a Gmail compose window, which I'm sure many of you know.  This is another one of those minor problems that I'm having alot of these days, so any help would be appreciated.

  • How to reset time for Firefox' mail client, so it would match my desktop's summer time?

    After I changed time from winter to summer on my desktop, information about the time when I sent or receive e-mail using Firefox Internet browser and Google mail client is one hour off:
    When I check my SENT box, there is information about my immediate recent message that suggests that it has been sent out an hour ago.
    I tried to find relevant Google mail client's and Firefox Internet browser settings, but couldn't.
    What should I do?

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • Why does mail sent using the MacOSX mail client not show up in my sent folder when I access my Gmail account in a browser?

    I've recently started using my first Mac, and I hooked my work email (Forwarded to Google Mail) and my personal email (Gmail) into the MacOSX mail client. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, until I noticed that sent mail from my work email through the MacOSX Mail client is not showing up in my sent box on any other clients. Sent mail does show up in my personal email in Gmail, though.
    Can anyone help me understand why mail sent from the MacOSX Mail client doesn't end up in the sent folder of my work Gmail account? I suspect it has something to do with the forwarding-to-Google process -- a sort of "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation. Has anyone heard of this problem before? What should I try?

    I've been noticing that too.  Just told me there were 6 outgoing messages, even though I did not create any new messages.
    One hypothesis is that it's generating those messages when a rule moves an email from one folder to another.
    Can someone at Apple confirm this?

  • How can I do a clean install of Mac Mail client? ...

    ... without doing a clean reinstall of the entire OS?
    I've been wrestling with my Mac Mail client all day and am pretty sure I've got a corrupted file somewhere, either in the app or in the Home<Library folder somewhere. I've been using the mail app for several years without issues with .mac mail as the primary and a couple of POP accounts from gmail and pacbell. The troubles began late Monday when I was batch deleting some old e-mails from the mail server. The entire inbox (maybe 120+ e-mails disappeared.
    Since then, I can receive mail from all three mail providers, but am unable to send via any provider on my Mac Mail client. I have a PC that pulls mail from all three services via POP3, and it's working fine for both sending and receiving.
    I was also able to create a .mac account on the Mac Mail client on a spare iMac and had no trouble sending or receiving from it. But the Mail client on my G5 refuses to send. I've reconfigured all the accounts, checked them 10 times, deleted and reinstalled them all, all to no avail, which is why I think there's bad ju-ju in one of the files somewhere.
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks.

    First find out if you need to reinstall the mail app. Create a new user by going to system preferences >accounts. Unlock the lock and click on the + sign. Create a new user account. Log into the new user by going to the apple menu and logging out. In the new user go to system preferences>.mac. Enter your user name and password. If you can log in here then open Mail. Your .mac mail should be automatically set up. Send a test e-mail to yourself. If Mail works then the problem is specific to your user account and you do not need to reinstall the Mail app. If the Mail works then consider continuing to set up your other accounts in this user. Once your accounts are working in the new user close all windows and applications. Go the the ~/Library/Preferences and holding down on the Option key drag the com.apple.mail.plist to desktop. Now select your hard drive icon in the finder window and double click on the Users folder. Drag the com.apple.mail.plist into the Shared folder. Log out of your new user account and back into your account. Navigate to the ~/Library/Preferences and drag your com.apple.mail.plist from that folder onto the desktop. Open your hard drive and go to the Users folder and open it, then open the Shared folder. Drag the com.apple .mail.plist from the shared folder into the open Preferences window. Close the windows and open mail. Mail should work.
