Mail is sending the body of my email as a .txt attachment
I have a serious problem when I send out an ordinary email, with no attachment. The first line appears as it should.."Dear whoever", and after that the email is blank. This makes me look rather stupid, but if the recipient checks the .txt attachment, they understand my message because the body of text has been punted into an attachment for some reason. I've had this feedback from several people. I use multiple email accounts in mail and I've had the same feedback for different accounts on separate domains. The message appears correct in my sent items, so I have absolutely no way of know that this has happened until the recipient tells me. It seems to be intermittent or not happening in every case.
I would be so pleased if anyone could help me out with this one?

Mail doesn't create .txt files from email messages; it sends exactly what you type. If some of your recipients are claiming they receive .txt files, that would most likely be due to their email client, which no doubt is running Windoze. Only they can solve that problem. If the message is okay in your Sent mailbox, that's exactly what you sent, so the problem is on their end.

Send text file content as the body of an email using Send-MailMessage
I am taking the last 8 lines of a bunch of robocopy logs and bunching them together.

I then wanted to use this as the body of an email (send-mailmessage). It all works but the formatting is lost in the email. I've tried using Out-String and ConvertTo-HTML with little luck.
If I look at $a in the above it looks fine in the PowerShell console it's just lost when it reaches my inbox.
I am using v2 of PowerShell and sadly can't upgrade it.The issue isn't that part. It's the content of the log files that loses its formatting.

Send an Actrobat Pro form in the body of an email?
Is it possible to send a Acrobat form in the body of an email? I would like the receiver to be able to reply with the completed form in the body of the email. It’s important that we get the completed form back as a message body and not an attachment.
Thanks, BrianYes, it is, but it requires using a script. Basically you would collect the form data into a script and then you can use the mailMsg() method to send an email.
However, if the users are using Reader then you can't use that method and will have to submit the entire PDF as an attachment to the message, using the mailDoc() command, as well as populating the form data into the email body.
The only other option is to use a "mailto:"-URL, but that has a character limitation so you can't send much data. -
The body of my emails does not show up in Mozilla, but works in Internet Explorer.
Well it depends on what webmail client you're using. If you're using yahoo, then there is no way to do it. I asked them a couple of years ago and they replied back that they had no plans in the future for the option embed a picture in their mail. if you're using Hotmail, there is a program called Live Mail Client that will let you embed a picture in your email but it's only for Windows. Maybe in the Future they will build one for Mac OS's. Not sure about Gmail.

Is there a neat way (other than Copy/Paste one chunk at a time!!) to get a complete Address Book entry complete into the body of an email in plain text (NOT as a V-Card), if I want to send to someone who doesn't use an Address Book on their computer ?
The only way to do what you are asking about is to create an html email. This is possible and assuming you are using Leopard, you can use Mail to do this. Start a new email and select the Stationary button that by default is on the right corner of the new email message window.
Pages cannot be used to create html code and the only way to use Pages to create your newsletter would be to create a PDF and attach it. The other possible option would be to send your email with a link to a webpage. You could experiment with using the Share to iWeb function and see if this could work for you. (Since I swore off - not to mention at - iWeb some time ago I don't know how well this would work.) -
Why are my attachments loaded into the body of my email
I just started using mail instead of Thunderbird. When I want to include an attachment (a document) in an email, it opens into the body of my letter instead of being an attachment that the sender can open. How to change that?
imac running maverick 10.9.2Yes, I am the sender and the problem originated with me, not the recipient. (I had already selected "always insert attachments at end of message" but it doesn't seem to hold after logging in to mail again. ) Everytime I chose a file to attach from my desktop or documents, it inserted itself completely open in the body of my email, directly beneath the text. Whenever I tried to delete only the attachment, it saved a copy of my message in the trash (including the open attachment) This continued despite quitting mail, restarting, and even after updating to 10.9.2. This evening I got the attachment to paste as a thumbnail, so I don't know what is going on. I sent a test message and it seemed ok. Hopefully it will last. Could this have been cause by an email I received with a document open in the body?
Another question...I notice when I view messages in my "sent' folder as a list, there isnt any attachement icon like I see in my inbox..why? If i open the individual message, the paperclip icon is displayed -

The problem is defining what it even means to “embed” a PDF file in the body of an e-mail, especially if you are dealing with a multiple page PDF file.
E-mail is either pure text, rich text (something akin to RTF in Word), or HTML. PDF is not compatible with any of these. Thus, to embed a PDF file, something has to be converted and that means the PDF would be converted to a less graphically rich raster format. But is that what you would really want?
I think that the MacOS and iOS e-mail clients do under some circumstances place an attached PDF file within HTML segments and by clicking on same, you get the equivalent of extracting the full PDF file, but I have no real experience with that.
Another alternative is HTML with a proxy image with a hyperlink to an external PDF file that is invoked when you click on the hyperlink.
Perhaps you can explain what you are really trying to accomplish and what the recipient of such an e-mail's actual experience would be?

On my Blackberry, if someone sent me an email with another persons email address in the body of the email i would place my cursor on it and click and the phone would crete a new email with that address in the To: section.
I am unable to click on email addresses in the body of my emails on my iPhone.
Is there a setting i can adjust to make this happen?Well..i think i figured it out.
The emails i send from ENTOURAGE with email addresses in the body will not allow me to click on them from my iPhone.
I just tried sending myself an email through GMAIL with an email address in the body and I was able to click on the address from my iPhone
It must be some setting in ENTOURAGE
