  • My iCloud mail isn't working today.

My iCloud mail isn't working today.

iCloud on my home MacBook isn't working today or yesterday - May 8/9, 2012 (no send/receive), but it is working on my MacBook in my office.  The settings are the same but the results are 180 degrees from each other.  Does Apple ever monitor the discussions and chime in with fixes?  I've never seen it.  If not for the highly skilled, knowledgeable, and tech savvy folks outside of Apple, there's nowhere to turn for help except going directly to Apple(care), but there's no AppleCare available for iCloud.

  • Scan to E-Mail isn't working

I have a Photosmart 7520 printer and have been using the scan to e-mail function successfully.  For some reason, I'm now receiving an error message (Server Connection Error, unable to connected to Web Services).  All other services (wireless printing, etc.) are working just fine.  I followed the instructions contained elsewhere on this site (turning both the wireless router and printer off for 1 minute and then turning on the wireless router, then printer).  But it still isn't working.  Can you assist me please?

    Hi @rlsrocker
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you have encountered an issue when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 printer.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.  I have included a link toanother post that has the steps, including screen shots, on how to do this.  Please do not worry that the screen shots are for the Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.

  • How do I figure out why iPhoto e-mail isn't working?

I have used the e-mail within iPhoto for a long time and I've never had a problem. I use it usually to e-mail photos to myself for a particular purpose. Now all of a sudden, I can't get it to e-mail anything. I have tried re-starting the application and re-starting my computer. When I put my inputs in and click, "Send," the status bar shows, "Sending," but it never finishes, then I get an error that says, "Your email did not go through because the server did not reply. Check your internet connection. If the connection is working properly, the email server may be down. Try sending your email again later."
Just to make sure there is no problem with my e-mail, I went into the e-mail program and sent an e-mail exactly the same way I am attempting to from within iPhoto (same e-mail addresses used), and my tests go through with no problem. I don't understand why iPhoto is having trouble with this.
This just further exacerbates my annoyance that iPhoto started this whole "e-mailing from within iPhoto" thing a couple years ago. Before that, I was able to do the thing I am trying to do with much greater ease. I basically just need "medium" sized photos rather than these super large photo file sizes that iPhoto has. If I choose the "medium" size for e-mail, it's the perfect size. Before iPhoto changed, and it was integrated with the actual Mail application, I wouldn't have to send the photos to myself. It would put the photos into an e-mail, then I could just save those photos to my desktop. So you can see why it's so annoying that I feel stuck with this lack of being able to e-mail when all I really need are the "medium" sized photos!
    Thanks if you can help.
    Melanie

But it is a better solution for me because, if you read my last paragraph of my original post, you'll see that's all I wanted to do in the first place. Having to e-mail photos was already not ideal for what I wanted/needed to do. So exporting to my desktop is actually a much better solution than e-mailing the photos to myself. I have no idea why I didn't think of it before.
I did go in and check my e-mail client preferences in iPhoto and there's no reason it shouldn't be working. I don't know why it's not working but I don't care anymore. If I need to e-mail photos sometime in the future (it's something I almost never do), I'll address the problem again then (if it's still a problem).
Larry, I really appreciate you trying to help me. Thank you.

  • I just upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion......now my e mail isn't working....any suggestions?

I downloaded/upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion, version 10.8.2, and now I can view any of my emails. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this problem? If so, it will be greatly appreciated!

    Quit Mail.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy (command-C) the selected text to the Clipboard. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste (command-V) into the box that opens, then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. If you get a warning that the file is in use when you try to empty the Trash, log out and log back in.

  • HT4864 my iCloud mail isn't working at all - I haven't received mail in over 24hrs. What's happening?

Can anyone help? I'm not receiving any mail on either my Macbook Pro, iPhone or iPad. I use iCloud and Mail.
    Help!

A wet phone is out of warranty. This is considered user damage. Even if you were able to get it to start now, the chances of it working for long are slim. I suggest going to Apple and see about an OOW replacement. One for the iPhone 4 is only $149USD and it would come with a short warranty. It is a refurbished device and you would not be worried about encountering additional problems.

Please help

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
    https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
    On the iPhone, tap Settings.
    Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
    Tap Add Account.
    Tap Other.
    Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
    Click Next.
    Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
    Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
    That’s all!

  • Apple Mail still not working

Since downloading the OS X Yosemite upgrade Apple Mail isn't working. I think there's a major bug.
It hangs and won't respond. Can't access the Mail menu bar commands to make any changes. It crashes. It isn't displaying email content. And, quite oddly, the message viewer window is doing a "punch through" and revealing what's displayed on the desktop behind it.
I see many similar complaints about Apple Mail in these forums. I contacted Apple to see if the issues could be resolved - They acted like they haven't heard anything about Apple Mail problems. They had me re-install Yosemite. Same Apple Mail issues still exists. This is a disaster for those of us who use Apple MAil in our business communications. APPLE HELP!
Does anyone know of a solid work-around, a patch or alternate?
