Mail not updating to show replied/forwarded on gmail imap

Hello,
I've been reading about the various issues with Mail in Mavericks and Gmail Imap but none that addresses this. I access my account via imap on iPhone, a Snow Leopard MacBook Pro and Mac Pro running Mavericks. Everything has always worked just like it should - messages marked as replied to or forwarded on all devices when replied / forwarded on one of them. But Mail in Mavericks apparently just ignores this bit when it's not been on the local machine - that is, if I reply from my iPhone or the MacBook, Mavericks Mail does not display a replied/forwarded icon.
Any help?

What IOS are you running on the phone?
When you open an email, at the bottom of the screen you should see a tool bar of icons. The curved back arrow will bring you to either forward or reply an email. The little trash can will let you delete an email.
Are you not seeing the tool bar?

  • Yahoo mail not updating

YAhoo mail not updating for some days. I had to downliad yahoo app to check my mails

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
    https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
    On the iPhone, tap Settings.
    Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
    Tap Add Account.
    Tap Other.
    Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
    Click Next.
    Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
    Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
    That’s all!

  • My Mail.app Still Won't Work Well with Gmail IMAP

My Mac Pro is completely updated to Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.2, the latest update, but Mail.app still works really poorly with my gmail IMAP account.
Mail.app sometimes fails to pick up new mail for as much as a couple hours at a time, while Mail on my iPad is having no problem.
I've tried quitting and restarting Mail, taking the account offline and then back on, and using the synchronize command, but nothing forces Mail to pick up recent mail until all of a sudden, a couple hours later, it's working fine again.
I'd consider switching to a 3rd party mail client, but none of them have the combination of features that I like in Mail.
This happens at least every couple days.
Is everyone still seeing this kind of flakiness in Mail?

When you did the 2.1 update did it restore your backup file onto the iPhone?
If so you may want to backup iPhone, Restore, Setup as new iPhone and see if this provides better response. Post back

  • My yahoo mail not updating for hours

My Yahoo account on my Mac Book Pro is not updating, been 5 hours and my iphone and ipad received mail 3 hours ago yet my Windows mail shows mail up to the minute.  When I try to refresh, shows loading ALOT but nothing comes through.

I have the same problem with various Yahoo! Mail folders.  When I look in my Sent Items folder, the 920 will only show me the emails I sent from my phone.  I do not see the emails I sent from my PC.
Also, when I reply to an email on my 920, I can watch the email go to the Outbox and then to the Sent Items folder, but the email never actually goes out.  When I go to my PC, it's not in my Sent folder.

  • Mail not updating

    Hi all,
The Mail client on my MacBook Pro has recently been acting really strangely. I'm running 10.6.8, Mail 4.5, and don't have any pending software updates. It frequently won't update my Gmail IMAP client (which works perfectly on another MacBook Pro I have it set up on and my iPhone) and once I restarted the program a few times and it does find new messages, it marks previously read messages as unread and randomly deletes unread messages. It's getting really frustrating and I'm considering switching to Thunderbird or Outlook so I don't keep missing emails. Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thank you!

That is how my mailbox is sorted.
I think I've narrowed it down such that it's just Gmail that's the problem. It's not showing up in my Inbox even though the other two, University-based emails that I have seem to be working fine. Gmail is just not working with the "Inbox" folder at all!

  • Mail not updating after recent update

After the recent update my mail does not update unless I press the mail icon. In the past I would hear a sound and a number would appear next to the icon letting me know how many mails received. Any ideas?

did you double check the mail settings that it is set to push?

  • TS3276 Yahoo! sent mail not updated in the server.

I have an issue with Yahoo! Mail. When I'd sent email from my Mail from my mac book air, it can be sent but a copy is not updated in the server, thus when I view from the web or other device I can't see it as it is not updated. I've checked the "store sent msg in server" in the mail preference.
I don't this issue with exchange and gmail.
    Thanks

Right that is how the  POP email protocol works. If you want all mail sent and received to always be on the Mail Server then you have to use a mail provider that allows, uses, either IMAP or MS Exchange.

  • I no longer have the e-mail icons with my e-mail so that I may reply, forward, etc.  How do I get them back?

I no longer have my e-mail symbols for replying, forwarding, etc.  How do I get them back?

    Try terminating and restarting Mail:
    1. Press the Home button
    2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
    3. Touch and hold on the Mail icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
    4. Touch the "-" to terminate Mail.
    5. Mail Safari and see if this corrects the problem.
If this doesn't try restarting or resetting your iPhone:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPhone shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • Iphone 5s mails not updated since monday. Checks and then says updated Monday. All settings checked and deleted and reinstated account....no change

My iPhone 5s mail has not updated since Monday; I can see mails on iMac.  Checks for mail but nothing new appears.    I have checked all settings and deleted and reinstated mail box but no luck. Can anyone help please.

If the mail provider is a pop mail account, that could be why, because the iMac may have downloaded them already.
If you go to mail > preferences > accounts, it'll tell you there if it is pop or imap.
Let me know and i'll assist you further

  • Outlook email doesn't show reply/forward info via ActiveSync

I recently set up my iPhone 3G to sync with our Exchange server at work. When I reply or forward a message from the phone, it only shows it as read within Outlook instead of the reply/forward information as with my old WM6 device. Does anyone know if there is a setting to change this or is this another iPhone/ActiveSync bug?

This seems to still be a problem with the iPhone 3G running firmware 2.0.2 (5C1). I am using Exchange ActiveSync (syncing via 3G). When I reply to a message on the iPhone, if I look back at Outlook, I cannot tell that I already responded (forward or reply), something that has long been supported by Windows Mobile devices (and allows me to thread messages together in Outlook for historical purposes).

  • Mail not updating.  Possibly since January update.

This problem is fairly new and I am 99% sure it started when I updated my iPhone with the January update but I do not know if it is related...
My phone used to tell me I had new email immediately (as indicated by the Mail icon in the dock) in both of my accounts (one GMAIL and one other account). However, now it does not automatically tell me even when I wake up in the morning and see that I have 5 or 6 new messages. If I go to my mail and click refresh, it will load the messages but I want it back to the way it was!
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

It sounds like I'm having exactly the same problem, but it might have started before the January update. Constantly I have to manually check for mail even though it is set to check every 15 minutes.
I will wake up in the morning and mail says it was last updated last night. Sometimes I will check in the middle of the afternoon and it has not updated since the morning. I am using 2 IMAP accounts. 1 GMail and 1 Exchange server. I've restored the phone back to normal a couple times and it seems like it keeps happening.

  • Apps not updating just showing as waiting

Apps are not updating or downloading just showing as waiting.

See if any of these things help.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • RSS Feeds in mail not updating

There is another thread [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1322871] about RSS not updating in Mail.app. It is closed so I can't post a response to it. Whilst the solution offered might work it isn't really very elegant.
If RSS feeds no longer seem to be updating then it could be that the SQLite3 database that manages it has some corruption or space issues. The best solution is to fix this database (rather than to replace it as proffered in the other thread). To do so, first quit Mail, then open Terminal and enter:
       /usr/bin/sqlite3 ~/Library/PubSub/Database/Database.sqlite3 vacuum.
When you next open Mail, RSS should be returned to normal

I wonder what the problem is and how to resolve it. Anybody out there have an idea?
