  • Experimenting with email/attachments

    Experimenting with email/attachments - and the problem with an ATT00001.htm attachment also appearing in Outlook/AOL recipients. is there any way to always force attachments added in any app to be placed AFTER the default email signature ie. at end of message ??

    Our office is having the same problem. Simply can't attach to the email. When the attachment is attempted it just stalls. Nothing. No change. Just won't do anything. We can forcequit the program but it doesnt solve the problem.
    When computer is restarted we are able to attach. Then after a while of routine use of MS Word and Dropbox the problem starts again. Note that we can't even attach stuff from the desktop when this occurs, so I dont think its related to Dropbox.
    We werent having this problem until the recent updates.

  • Receiver Mail Adapter, Mail Package with Payload as Attachment

    Hi Everyone,
    I have spent the better part of the day today searching and testing all of the different combinations that I could think of to solve this problem, so please don't just do an SDN search for me and cut/paste in the links as there are too many contradictive answers piling up over the last year.
    I am trying to use a Receiver mail adapter to send some data using the mail package, and I want to have the <content> tag be in an attachment.  I am using mail package to dynamically set the mail address, but to also try and turn my data into a csv file that the recipient can open in Excel.
    My mail package sets the following values:
    <Content_Type>text/plain</Content_Type>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment</Content_Disposition>
    <Content>Sample Text</Content>
    This blog is basically what I am trying to do:
    <a href="/people/community.user/blog/2006/09/08/email-report-as-attachment-excelword:///people/community.user/blog/2006/09/08/email-report-as-attachment-excelword
    But no where in here is he setting ContentDisposition, and he is (potentially) not using the MessageTransformBean module.
    It is unclear if I need to use the MessageTransformBean to make this work?
    Questions:
    1) Do I need to use the MessageTransformBean?
    2) Do I need to set the ContentDisposition in the mail package?
    3) Does Service Pack matter with these settings?  We are on SP15 upgrading to SP18 very soon.
    Thanks
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    try:
    <Content_Type>text/plain;name="file.csv"</Content_Type>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="file.csv"</Content_Disposition>
    <Content>Sample Text</Content>

  • Mail package with attachment

    Hi,
    I have to send a flat file as attachment through the mail adapter in combination with the mail package because I have to communicate with several partners and I want to determine dynamically the "To:" depending on a field in the source structure (an IDoc).
    The scenario is almost complete. I've created the file as mail attachment using the MessageTransformBean module and it works fine but how can I map the xml structure needed for the mail package?
    I've already check the following weblogs but I didn't find the answer to my question.

  • Mail Package with XML attachment

    Hi Everybody,
    I am using Mail Package to implement dynamic mail.
    The email is sent successfully, the problem is that when I try to open my XML attachment and the error 'The page can not be displayed'  appears in my browser.
    I changed charset from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8. But it still didn't work.
    Here is the information in my content_type tag:
    text/plain; charset=UTF-8 ; name=NFe.xml
    Please anyone could help me ?
    Regards,
    Daniela

    Thanks for your reply.
    In fact the right value for Context_Type tag is application/xml; charset="UTF-8"; name="MyFile.xml"
    And I also removed the values in the Tags "Content_Description" and "Content_Disposition".
    Now it is working fine.

  • Object Package with Email Notifications not working

    I have an object package with 10 reports in it.  I want Edge to send email notices to the customers when each report is ready to be viewed.  But it will only send an email for the first report not any of the others.  Any ideas on why the other notifications aren't being sent out?

    I found out this is a known issue.  The "Schedule For" option is not supported for object packages.  I worked around it by setting success and failure events and then scheduling an email to be sent when one of the events occurs.

  • Problem with email attachments in 10.10.2

    I posted this in the Mail category but I'm also putting it here because I think that it's a Yosemite issue...
    After the Yosemite 10.10.2 updated that I did last night (1/30/2015) I am having trouble saving attachments from received emails.  I can save the attachment by going to "File" and then "Save Attachment" but I can't do it directly from the message header like I used to.  When I move the mouse to the header I do get the option to "Save all" and when I click on that it seems to work normally.  But after supposedly doing that save the file does not show up in the folder where I "saved" it.

    OK, this is getting really weird!  A 2nd followup...
    Attached files are now saving the way they always have and I made no changes since my last posting!  The only thing that I did was check to see if I could save from my gmail to the downloads folder.  That worked and now saves work to any folder!
    Very strange!  But I'm not complaining!

  • Exchange 2010 issues with emails attachments on phones

    ok i have an issue with exchange 2010 server 2008 r2
    i currently have 7 phones running activesync
    only one phone has a problem sending attachments to other phones in the company....
    however the phone can send regular email to any of the other phones without any problems.
    I have exhausted my abilities to figure out what is going on and at this point Im lost which has never happened before
    I mirrored the setting on another phone to the one with the problems and still no difference
    I also changed to the readahead size notifications to 20mb
    and unrestricted retrieval size
    both phones are galaxy S3's
    I am leaning towards a configuration error
    anyone have any ideas i can try?

    Hi
    I think most probably it could be a problem with the Android device and not to analyze on readahead
    size notifications since this occurs only on a particular device
    As a part of testing please follow the below things
    1) Try to configure active sync profile for different user on that device and try sending email with attachments and see the results.
    2) Try to configure profile on a different mobile for that affected user account and see the results.

  • Attachment size - Mail cannot send email attachments over 1.5Mb

    Had this issue with Mac mail for well over a year now.
    Mac Mail, connected to Exchange server.
    Mac Mail cannot send attachments over about 1.5Mb. This does fluctuate, sometimes its as low as 600Kb.
    It seems to be related to the internet speed you have, Slower internet connections and attachment size you are able to send goes down, faster speed and it allows bigger attachments to be sent.
    Im assuming its some kind of time out issue.
    With Windows and Outlook on the same internet connection = NO PROBLEM AT ALL!
    This means its not an exchange only problem, its specific to mail and exchange.
    I have several friends all switched over to Apple in the last 2 years and ALL having the same issues and despite logging several calls with Apple and trying everything they have suggested still no fix.
    I have searched around and it seems lots of people are having similar issues all with no resolution to this.
    Please can someone suggest anything new that might resolve this, im happy to try anything!

    @Brooksymj
    We had a similar problem - but we had one Mac which had been migrated from and old G5 Tiger to a new Intel iMac Snow Leopard and no problems existed (all size attachments send), so we checked out what was different about that machine's mail.plist preferences.  We spotted some obvious ones that didn't exist on a clean install of Snow Leopard, so added them, which worked for us, as follows...
    1/ get Pref Setter (www.nightproductions.net/prefsetter.html)
    2/ quit Mail and launch Pref Setter
    3/ find com.apple.mail and double-click it
    4/ click once on any one of the entries without an expansion triangle
    5/ click on Actions and select Add New Array
    6/ call the new array DeliveryAccounts (no space)
    7/ with DeliveryAccounts highlighted, click Actions and select Add New Dictionary
    8/ leave the default name of Item 1
    9/ with Item 1 highlighted, click Actions and select Add New Key
    10/ call the new key MaxMessageBytes (no spaces)
    11/ change MaxMessageBytes class to Integer
    12/ set the value to the maximum individual message size permited by your exchange server
    (ours is 50MB = 52428800)
    This also worked on my mbp with Lion.
    Hope this works for you!

  • Scan to e-mail, Multiple PDF email attachments instead of one.

    Hi there! My problem is scanning multiple pages to e-mail them. This does not happen to all my jobs, but about 80% of them get scanned and then emailed multiple times. file names sometimes come with pages. For example: the email attachment pdf files would be named: "[Untitled]_1-6.pdf(1 MB), [Untitled]_2-6.pdf(1 MB)" etc..This happens with random pages as well. So if there is a 12 pages document sometimes i would send it to email and the pdf's would be pages 1-2 in one pdf and then page 3 , then page 4-8, then page 9, then 10, then 11-12.  Each pdf file would come in a separate email. I really only want to scan however many pages i need to email to someone and have them receive it in One pdf file. It gets very annoying sometimes and I would have to use another program to mend all the pdf files into one pdf using separate software. Can anyone help out with this?

    Hi Vamsee,
    I have similar requirement. I tried your code by making some corrections, but I am getting error as 'File is damaged' when I tried to open files.
    It would be helpful if you paste your code here.
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Ram.

  • Sending SmartForm as E-mail attachment, with email subject and content

    Hi,
    I'm, e-mailing a SmartForm using the SmartForm parameters (MAIL_RECIPIENT, MAIL_SENDER and MAIL_APPL_OBJ) using control device 'MAIL'.
    Create MAIL_RECEPIENT (swotobjid): CREATE_RECIPIENT_OBJ_PPF
    Create MAIL_SENDER (swotobjid): CREATE_SENDER_OBJECT_PPF
    Create MAIL_APPL_OBJ: This works a little different. The sender needs to have an SAP Office Inbox (SO_USER_AUTOMATIC_INSERT) where a folder is to be created using the marco's swc_create_object and swc_object_to_persistent (INCLUDE <cntn01>).
    Everything works fine.
    The mail is being send and the SmartForm can be accessed as attachment, the E-Mail subject (as the name of the attachment) is taken from the title of the SmartForm (output_options-tdtitle).
    QUESTION *
    No they want to change the E-mail subject en change the content(body) of the mail.
    Is this possible within the options of the MAIL_APPL_OBJ.
    Or do have to rebuild the SmartForm program, get the SmartForm as OTF, rebuild as PDF en mail the PDF to the recepient using the SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
    I was thinking of creating a container and set the elements of that container (swc_set_table ?) but I don't no in the end if this woll work.

    Refer the following Blog-

    generate filename as yesterday's yyyymmdd format, and it must send file with same name with yyyymmdd
    You need to use the following UDF to generate yesterday's date-
    Imports: java.text.;java.util.;
    public String yesterday(Container container)
    long oneDay = (long) 1000.0 * 60 * 60 * 24;
    DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMdd");
    java.util.Date today = new java.util.Date(System.currentTimeMillis());
    java.util.Date yesterday = new java.util.Date(System.currentTimeMillis()-oneDay);
    String b = dateFormat.format(yesterday);
    return b;
    Map this with Content_Disposition as mentioned in wiki.
    XI 3.0 message must be executed one a day automatically (for example at 9.00 Am).
    Use 'Availability Time planning' for CC as mentioned above.

  • File type problem with email attachments

    Hi,
    I'm using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send email with an attachment. This attachment is a random file uploaded by the user on an ITS web site and sent to my FM.
    It is all working fine as long as I tell SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 that the doc_type is 'PDF'. When I say it's 'JPG' I get an error "Message cannot be processed as it cannot be converted".
    It's not the actual file that is the problem, I can send jpg-images or any other file as long as I say t_packing_list-doc_type   =  'PDF'. However this leads to the attached file being called *.PDF instead of *.JPG, and the receiver has to rename it.
    The relevant code is
      t_packing_list-doc_type   =  ld_format.
      t_packing_list-obj_descr  =  ld_attdescription.
      t_packing_list-obj_name   =  ld_attfilename.
    where
    - ld_format is the file extension (e.g. 'jpg', 'pdf', ...)
    - ld_attdescription = ' ' (1 space)
    - ld_attfilename is the file name without extension (e.g. 'image001')
    My FM has to work with any file extension. It receives the file name and the file extension (jpg, pdf, doc, whatever) as an input parameter along with the file, and I just need to be able to email this file with the originale file name and extension no matter what that extension is. Any suggestions? Tia.

    hi Filip Camerman,
    i am giving you the sample code try this as such.
    it_packing_list-transf_bin = 'X'.
    it_packing_list-head_start = 1.
    it_packing_list-head_num = 1.
    it_packing_list-body_start = 1.
    it_packing_list-doc_type = 'PDF'.
    it_packing_list-body_num = tab_lines.
    it_packing_list-doc_size = tab_lines * 255.
    APPEND it_packing_list.

  • PayloadZIPBean with Mail Package... is it possible?

    Hi,
    In proxy to file scenario, I send mails from PI with data received from proxy as attachment. I also need to zip the attachment.
    I will be getting the email address dynamically, hence I should use Mail Package with 'Keep Attachments' option. Now the problem is if I use mail package since the <content> tag data is taken as mail attachment, can I use PayloadZipBean in receiver mail adapter to zip the attachemnt?
    I tried using the follwoing adapter module in receiver mail mail adapter but ended with an error.
    Module Name: AF_Modules/PayloadZipBean                             Module Key: zip
    Module Config:

  • Open email attachments with Pages?

    Have just recently purchased 2 iMacs and am having a problem with email attachments. iWorks is installed on both machines. In one machine, when an email attachment comes through I can "Command-click" and get an option menu to select the application that will open the attachment- in other words choose Pages rather than TextEdit or Word (if I had it installed).
    On the second computer, all "Word-type" documents are automatically opend by TextEdit. If I "Command-click"

    You are probably not doing anything wrong but sending to persons not having Macs with Pages of the same version. If you are sending to person on PCs or Macs without the right Pages you have to export to Word or Pdf so they can read it.
