Mail Rule: Can we run one periodically?

Is there a way to set up a rule that is manually invoked instead of automatic?
I have 10 rules to manage my lists and forward messages to folders. They're always active.
However, I would like to create a rule to handle one particular list's messages that ONLY works when I run it -- I don't want it enabled all the time.
The rationale is that for this one particular list I prefer to get its mail in my main inbox where I scan and delete the messages during the day instead of having them go to a separate folder.
As I've done for years in Entourage, I want to be able to go into my Trash every week, shift-click the list messages I deleted, and move them to an archive folder. In Entourage, I had a rule that I'd manually invoke every week to do this, and otherwise it would stay disabled. But in Mail, I'm only seeing situations where rules are either "all on" or selectively disabled.....for that matter, I'm not even seeing a rule criteria that can hendle messages in Trash.

Mail rules only activate for incoming messages. If you desire to have a rule that moves messages from one folder to another, for example, it will never activate unless triggered by an incoming message that meets the test criteria. Hence, the rule will only activate if you select the Apply Rules selection from the Message menu.
As an alternative you can create an Applescript to perform the chore. The script will only run when you activate it externally. There is also a third-party Mail plug-in, Act-On, that performs a defined rule only on messages that you select. Look for it at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. I also suppose you may be able to write an Automator action as well.

BPC 10.0 NW - How do I make Business Rules run one Period at a time

I was wondering if anyone has a way to make business rules run one period at a time before moving on to the next to the next time period (i.e. January 2014 calc prior to moving on to February 2014). In past SQL this could be achieved with a piece of script *CALC_EACH_PERIOD. Is there anything like this that can be applied in the NW platform for Business Rules? I have some logic that I want to run through a package on multiple periods at once. Part of this logic contains a Business Rule that uses a value from the preceding period. the Business rule appears to be calculating all time periods selected in the package at once so it is missing the piece that is supposed to come from the prior month unless the package is run one period at a time. I need the logic to run sequentially by time period (oldest first) when more than one time period is selected.

Script for the business rule is below, it runs along with the FX_Trans rule in the same package ( I have also attached a screen shot of the actual Business rule its self)

I uninstalled Firefox once, reinstalled it and it ran. I had a problem so I did it again. Now it will not run and I get an error message saying that firefox is running and you can only run one at a time. I can't figure out what is running.

Applescript run from Mail rule does not run

I am attempting to run an Applescript from a Mail rule. Basically, the Applescript does not run.
Stripped to the bare essentials, the following script runs fine when Applying a rule in Mail:

But, when I remove the comments from the block lifted verbatim from the Applescript manual:

the script does not even say Hello.
I am trying to go as far as having the Applescript create a new ToDo based on specific incoming emails, but I can't get any but the simplest Applescript to run.
Can anyone help me?

The script works just fine - at least, as designed if not as expected.
When the script runs, Mail and/or AppleScript looks for a perform mail action handler. If that is found, the commands within are executed.
If there is no perform mail action handler then the script is run as-is (i.e. as if you clicked 'Run' in AppleScript Editor).
And that's exactly what's happening here. In the first case (that works) the script is running because there's no (visible) perform mail action handler.
In the second case where it apparently doesn't work, there is a handler, so that handler is being executed. Any code outside that handler is ignored (unless it's called from within the perform mail action handler.
Since your 'say' command is outside the handler, it is ignored. However, if you move it inside the perform mail action handler you'll hear your speech.

Mail: I can only open one email at a time

Using Mail, I have a very strange phanomenon: I can only open one email at a time. E.g. when writing a new email, I cannot open another email for reference. I need to close and save the new email as a draft before being able to open another one.
It would be great if somebody could help me with this, thanks!

If you choose File > New Viewer Window from the menu bar in Mail, you can have as many email messages open as you like.

Can only run one prog at a time

I'm experiencing a frustration problem. I can't run two adobe programs a the same time - ie, Lightroom and photoshop, After effects and photoshop, flash CS4 and after effects etc
Running final release of windows 7 64 bit, licenced PS3, trial AE, trial PS4....8GB Ram, has been with both Nvidia and ATI video cards, open GL on , Open GL off, seperate scratch disks, reinstalled everything,
Any help, advice, hints would be really appreciated as having to close programs all the time when switching apps is a real pain in the neck

"Running an applet" means loading a HTML file that has another Applet tag. I assume this is what you want.
In that case you can call the following methods (in your codes in the 'first' Applet):
this.getAppletContext().showDocument(anotherUrlName, targetName);
anotherUrlName is the URL of the second html file that has another Applet tag. Check API documention for different values for targetName.

Activity monitor shows RAM usage at between 3 and 3.95 most of the time, even with no apps running. Hard drive has plenty of free space. Chrome crashes it the most, but any time I run more than two apps at a time, it crashes. It cannot ever complete a Time Machine backup. That leaves it dead in the water after a few minutes. When I say crash, I mean totally unresponsive, even when left alone for hours. Only a hard reset works. Then, it is hit or miss when it comes to rebooting. Often, it crashes at the startup login screen, and often it doesn't even make it that far. Sometimes, the computer spontaneously restarts itself. I've looked at the forums, and tried everything that I've seen suggested. I've left it alone overnight, hoping that it was just indexing, but no dice. I even used the sudo purge command once. That cleared up some RAM for a moment, but didn't affect the performance issues. I am aware that the RAM usage may have nothing to do with it, but that's the only clue I have. It is a miracle that I'm even able to finish typing this message, since right now I have Safari and Mail open at the same time! I've turned off Drop Box. Every application loads painfully slowly, and then any activity, including typing, is often interrupted by the spinning pinwheel of death. Sometimes, the problem resolves for a few minutes, and then returns with a vengance. Help!

and on the other, other hand. If you are using Oracle, schedule it in the Oracle job queue. Look into the DBMS_JOB package (DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT more specifically).
something like this would work:

Running AppleScript from Mail rules

Hi.
I'm pretty new to this, so sure it's a basic question....
I've created An AppleScript that calls an Automator application. This runs fine if I open the script in the editor and click run.
I've now created a mail rule which should run this script if a mail is received with defined subject, but it doesn't....
Whatever I try, it's just not running the script.
Any help?

Why can't cron run one of my scripts [SOLVED]

I hate to suggest something obvious to someone with 4000 posts (and such a scary avatar), but have you tried it with the full path: /home/user/... ?
Are you sure the script is not being run at all?

Is it possible to sort Mac Mail Rules into alphabetical order? I have in excess of 50 rules and everytime I want to add to a rule, such as "delete incoming" I have to go through the entire list to find it.

According to your description, my understanding is that use CMAK to configure split tunneling on VPN clients, traffic to specified devices can be routed via their own default gateway.
If the manually added route entries all have default metric and interface, clients will select one by the default routing rule, can’t select one of them according to clients’ own conditions. So, I am afraid that CMAK can’t implement the function which you need.
