Mail Stationery

When using stationery I have noticed that the stationery sometimes gets corrupted between the transmittal and the reception of the message. In one case it arrived as an attachment and stationery at the recipient's computer, and when it was returned via the Reply it arrived as 3 attachments. In another case when the message was returned via the Reply the stationery was not part of the message at all. These messages were sent between 2 Apple computers using the same version of Mail. Can this be avoided, other than just not using stationery?

I have also experienced what you described. 13 attachments and even the saved outgoing message just compiled is mis-aligned / corrupted.
Anyone?
thx.

  • Ironing the bugs out of a custom Mail Stationery

So I'm making a custom Mail Stationery for myself. It's pretty set up the way I want to look. It looks good when I'm sending it, and to someone else who uses the Mail client, it looks like it's supposed to as well.
In Gmail's web interface, it doesn't work. Basically, Gmail misinterprets the images I use for the template as attachments, and displays them as so, rather than using them for the interface.

  • Mail Stationery Templates are in Latin?  How do I get them to English?

I've searched and searched and finally reached the end of the internet with no answer! All my mail stationery templates default to Latin. How do I get them to default to English. HELP!

it's not Latin. It's Lorem Ipsum
    http://www.lipsum.com/
It's a placeholder text without any meaning.

  • Custom mail stationery missing...

While I have the stationery in Mail, it does not appear to be where it should be. I read the following article: http://www.jdempsey.com/how-to-create-customized-osx-mail-stationery-in-leopard/
The thing is none of the stationery templates are anywhere to be found. I've searched for it with Spotlight but found nothing.
I created a template in Mail called "iantest" and it saved by default in
    Mail>Stationery>Apple>Contents>Resources>Custom>Contents>Resources
Perhaps I can modify content.html in my "iantest" file, but then would the images be embedded and would there be any placeholders?
Do you know where the Mail stationery is?

mail stationery is located in yourharddrive/library/application support/apple/mail/stationery/apple/contents/resources/stationery/contents/reso urces.
first path is yourharddrive, not homefolder.
    hope this helps

  • Installing New Mac Mail Stationery Templates

I'm trying to install a custom stationery template into my Mac Mail which I believe should be placed here.
    Library > Application Support > Mail > Stationery > Apple > Contents > Resources > Custom > Contents > Resources
However, there's no "Mail" folder within my "Application Support".
If you have any suggestions, I'd be most grateful.
    Thanks, in advance.

    Back to the original problem:
I'm trying to install a custom stationery template into my Mac Mail
Who from, and did they provide an installer?
The reason I ask is that I recently downloaded and installed a set of stationery templates for Mail from
    http://www.jumsoft.com/stationery/
They work perfectly. The installer put them at the location I mentioned, but I have no idea whether the installer created that subfolder where I found them.
    Worth checking.

  • Mail Stationery the te

I tried to use the Mail Stationery to send a mail to a relative. All those templates look great but... I typed more text than possible and the template just gives me this sound that there are no more actions to do. That is annoying if you can only type as much as fits in the text field. It only does that on the Stationery Tack Board... I guess I'll just use a different one. But all the other ones don't have as many Photo Paceholders...

And BUAH! I don't like this! Mail has so many bugs! I saved a Mail as a draft and I had a Subject, Pictures and a Recipient. I klick on Save Draft and it does nothing. Then, when I close it, it asks me to save. I klick on Save and whoops! All my Pictures are gone and the Recipient disappeared. Same thing with the Subject! What is wrong with this?? Apple! Fix! Now!
    ... please?

  • Mail Stationery and HTML

    Hi there,
Is there someone who knows if I can use a HTML-page (that I created in iWeb) as a new mail stationery? I need to make a newsletter for my company, but the standard stationery is not statisfying for me and i need a stationery that includes pictures in the text and not as a header or a footer.
    Thanx!
    iMatts

Okaaaaay, we are getting close, but still ... not the result that's needed
The header picture is fine and looks great, but the pictures and text in the content area are not editable or changeable. A rectangular box is shown with the 'X' to close it on the upper left corner.
I think using HTMLs from iWeb for email stationery should be something easily do-able, because it is both HTML and a great way to personalize your emails ... (hope Cupertino is reading this :)).
Anyone else who succeeded in this topic ???

  • Mail Stationery options

Is there anywhere else to get new stationery for mail? The options are so limited and boring after awhile. Especially looking for Holiday Sentiments

    Use stationery in messages
You can add a personal touch to a message by using stationery. For example, if you’re inviting friends to dinner, you can use the Dinner stationery to make your message look like a professionally printed invitation.
    Apply a stationery template
In the New Message window, click the Stationery icon in the toolbar.
To view the template choices, click a category, such as Announcements.
To use a template, click its thumbnail. To try a different template, click another thumbnail.
You can change the background color of some templates by clicking the thumbnail. For example, click the Daisies thumbnail several times to see different background colors.
After you decide on a template, click the Stationery icon again to see more of the message area.
If the template contains placeholder images, drag images from your desktop or the Finder over a placeholder.
If you have images on your Mac from using Aperture, iPhoto, or Photo Booth, click the Photo Browser icon in the message toolbar to view and select those images.
You can drag any folder of images onto the Photo Browser so that the images are easily accessible.
If the image is larger than the placeholder photo, double-click the image to display a slider you can use to zoom in on an area of the photo. You can also drag the image around to show a specific area.
If you use a template often, add it to the Favorites category. Drag the thumbnail over the category list. To remove a favorite, select it and click Remove (x).
    Remove stationery
To remove a template from your message, click the Original thumbnail in the Stationery category.
Any text, images, or formatting you added is retained.
    Create your own stationery
In a new message, enter and format your text, add images, and then choose File > “Save as Stationery.”
Your custom stationery will be available in the Custom category, at the end of the list.

  • Can't find the custom mail stationery folder since upgrade to Lion

I have some custom mail stationery items I created in Leopard and have since upgraded to Lion when it was released.  Today I went to edit one of my custom ones and the folder was no longer present in the old location at
    User folder/Library/Application Support/Mail/Stationery/Apple/Contents/Resources/Custom
I have searched everywhere looking for the 'custom' folder but can't find it.
Problem is that mail still is showing them as if they still exist (and can use them) but I can't find where they are.   I decided to try creating a new template to see where it stored it but I can't find it anywhere and definitely not in the usual place.
Can someone please point me in the right direction .. I'm pulling my hair out!!!!

Binaut's answer is great.  However, how I was able to successfully move and place my custom stationery packages so they would show up in the "CUSTOM" category in a new mail using stationery took a different path. I had to place it in the SYSTEM Library FIRST. Of course I made the changes to the Table of Contents.plist and all that. AFTER I placed the package in the System/Library/Application Support etc. (the traditional place for templates) Mavericks Magically created the CUSTOM folder automatically and everything worked.
If I'm off on this, please let me know.
Below is a link to a new discussion I've started.
Hope this works for you!  There's also a link to a good tutorial on creating your custom stationery in the first place.
    Best to you!

  • How do I Expand the Text Box in Mail Stationery?

I have a question about using stationery in Mail. Is there anything I can do to make the text box in certain templates to hold more content? It seems that, in some templates (like Bamboo, for example), the text box expands automatically as more content is keyed in. Yet, in the Tack Board template, for example, the text box does not expand beyond what seems to be a fixed length for content. How can I get the text box in Tack Board to expand for additional content?

Please check text input state defined , also if the form is inserted in any container then try to test out the form with different text input boxes in a new page.
Additionally , check the mid-hieght of text inserted in frame.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Mail Stationery Appearing As Attachments!

    Hi,
I love the new Stationery in Apple Mail, however, I've noticed a problem. If I send an e-mail to someone on Google Mail, and they read the e-mail on the Google Mail website, the stationery shows up but underneath it are 1-3 attachments of graphics used to make the stationery. This is very messy.
Does anyone know why this is happening? A Leopard bug perhaps?

Sounds like Google mail needs some fixing.

  • Mail Stationery Templates

The 30 or so professionally designed stationery templates that come as standard with the Mail application have disappeared from my computer. I know not how!!
    I am running OSX v 10.5.8 and Mail version 3.6 (936)
Where can I find the templates on my computer or where can I download them?
    Please advise

then reinstall Mail from the Leopard disk as Klaus says. this will not affect your Mail data in any way. it will just reinstall the Mail application. applications never contain any user data. that's stored in your home directory and will not be touched. after you reinstall Mail you'll also need to reinstall 10.5.8 combo update (download it by hand from the apple website) to bring Mail to its current version.

  • Mail stationery. What the heck?

So, I have created an email that I will be sending out to a bunch of folks.
I had the brilliant idea to save it as stationery, so I can personalize each email.
Except when I go to use my letter, I can't personalize jack. It's like the text is a big picture. I click on it, and it highlights blue, with a blue border. I can't get a cursor.
I've been googling for an hour. It seems to me that my text has itself become the placeholder, as when I tried some of the existing templates, it replaces all of my text with text I've typed on the other templates.
For the life of me I can't understand what I am missing here. Help!

I had the same problem, was driving me nuts.
Turned out that since we had to replace a firewall at work (which hosts our mail server) the Alternative SMTP ports were blocked, and these were required because my home ISP blocks port 25.
So when we finally got ports 465 and 587 opened in the mail server firewall again then Mail at home was happy again and has stopped crashing since then.
However, the perhaps obvious symptoms of this problem was that you couldn't send any emails from home either, so if you don't have that problem, then who knows...
In another thread they had some success with the following:
    • Run Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities folder) and choose the "Verify Disk" option.
    - If errors are found, find your installer DVD, boot from it, and run its Disk Utility choosing the "Repair Disk" option
    • While booted from your hard drive, rerun Disk Utility and choose the "Repair Disk Permissions" option
    • Download the 10.6.5 combo update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1324
    • Reapply/reinstall the update
    Best of luck!

  • Mail stationery in Lion

I had a letter that I wanted to save for future reuse and followed the instructions to save it as Stationery.  It was done in Pages and it was saved as Stationery in Mail.  I just went to reuse it = opened new message, found the email template and clicked on it = nothing happened other than the subject line was entered.  No body.  I clicked on other types of stationery and they all show up as a template.  How do I get this email to become regular stationery?  How do I get it to work?

nope = no answer yet == looks like 5 people so far have the same Q == will post if something comes in outside of this topic...
