Mail to Link

I have a thumbnail of my resume in jpeg form in which i want to serve as a mail to link.  I made it a button and when I go to add interaction i find an option that says go to url... but how can i make it a mail to link?  if i enter [email protected] it just goes to yahoo where i hold my email account. Any suggestions anyone? I extremely new to this sofware...teaching myself.

Hey Bear
Thank you for the quick reply.
The workaround with the transparent box is what I already do.
It works fine with URLs but I could not get it to work with a mailto function.
What is it exactly that I have to put into the "interaction" field?
Thanks and greetings from Germany

  • How can i get my e-mail address linked to my skype...

    I need help!!!!
How can i get my e-mail address linked to my skype user name.
    Regards Gerald

You can use a different email account, but it will not appear on icloud.com as iCoud only hosts iCloud email.  Just add your account to the email client on your PC as you would any other email account.  To add the account on your iOS devices (iPhone), go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account, choose your provider and provide your account details.
You can't redownload purchased ringtones from iCloud for free but you can sync them to your 5c using iTunes.  To do so, connect your iPhone 4 to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Then go to the Tones folder of your iTunes library and confirm that the ringtones appear there.  (If you don't see the Tones folder, go to Edit>Preferences>General and make sure Tones is checked in the Show options.)
Then connect your 5c to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Tones folder of your iTunes sync settings, then check Sync Tones and click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.

  • Wife and I have separate iOS devices, separate iCloud accounts. But we both want to access mail from the iMac (OSX Mavericks.) Currently only my mail is linked. How to configure so that wife's iCloud mail can be seen  on iMac. Simple and explicit please!

My wife and I have separate ioS devices (iOS7)  with separate iCloud accounts.
So we access our mail separately on these devices. But we would both like to be able to access mail at the desk top (iMac, OSX Mavericks). Currently only my mail is linked. How do I set up the Mac to allow it to access my wife's e-mail too, either in the same mail inbox or a separate one. Simple instructions please!

If Mail in Mavericks is the same as earlier versions you can select accounts in the sidebar, so that you can either display the inboxes for individual accounts, or the contents of all the account inboxes. (If the accounts don't show click the disclosure triangle next to 'INBOX'). The layout may have changed since the version I have - Snow Leopard - but you should be able to do the same thing.

my mail signature links no longer work

    Hello Immunetoall,
    What video links?
Are they stored locally on the computer or are you visiting a website?
    What browser do you use?
Where do these videos link to? (e.g. youtube)
What happens when you click on a video link? Saying "it doesn't work" doesn't really tell me what you are seeing to be able to accurately understand your issue.

  • Have MacBook Air, double clicking on track pad won't open files in finder but opens mail and links, and internet sites

I have a MacBook Air.  I can not open up files in the finder when I double click on the track pad.  Double clicking does open up mail, internet, links, etc.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Specific E-mail with links causing freeze using Mail

My wife is getting newsletter style e-mail from Better Homes and Gardens that contain links to pictures and other websites.  These pictures only appear  if internet access is connected so I believe that they are links that only are active once the mail is selected.  If the internet is off, the space for the photos is blank.
I have isolated the problem to these specific e-mail messages that once selected, start some process of internet activity that causes the entire system to freeze and I get the beachball.  If I don't click on the message, everything is fine.  If I then turn off the internet access and open that message I can read it but there are no pictures or links. And the system continues to work fine.  If I leave the internet on and click on the message, it opens with the links and I can see pictures etc., BUT as I continue to read the message the computer will freeze up within 20 seconds.  If I try to click on any links within the message the computer freezes almost instantly.   Also, if I quickly get out of the message and try to view a different message from any other sender that also contains links, all the links and photos become unavailable.  And within a couple seconds the computer is locked up.
From watching my internet access speed monitor and listening to the hard drive it appears that the message is initiating some internet access or hard drive activity that interupts other mail functions and locks up the machine.
Anyone know how to troubleshoot this further?  Does it help to look at the message in it's raw coded form?  What would I look for?
    Thanks,
    Curtis

You know, I expected an answer like; "Your parental control can't be used like that. Its just a program, so it will try to block adult sites, or block unsecure connections. Like AOL mail for example. If you want her to access the school mail, then you'll just have to allow unrestricted access to the web. You can still monitor her web browsing. As for gmail, some email sites are able to be accessed even with the parental controls turned on."
I even expected some arrogant replies like Carolyn's. Telling me how to access gmail.
    Thanks for nothing!

  • Phishing E-mail - Clicked Link - Aargggh!

    Hi there,
    Sorry to bother you all.
I have used a Mac for 10 years and NEVER done anything as dumb as this. Total brain-melt moment so please don't crucify me too much - I feel stupid enough as it is...
This morning I got an e-mail supposedly from Apple telling me that "Your Apple ID was used to sign in to iCloud on an iPhone 5".
I don't know what was happening - phone calls were coming in, people were talking to me, the dog was barking, I was still half asleep - whatever - I clicked the link. It took me to a page that "looked" like Apple's site asking for my username and password. I 100% DID NOT enter my details. I realised immediately what an idiot I'd been and I then closed the page and deleted the e-mail.
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.1 - the OSX is up to date. Some of the software needs updates running (Pages, Keynote etc.) so that's not up to date but was new with the Mac a month ago. All the security settings are still at the default (I bought this Mac about a month ago) and the Firewall was on.
I have reset my Apple details and my computer's logon password. I've also cleared all cookies from Safari.
Am I in any danger from simply clicking the link even if I didn't enter my details? I've just installed Sophos and am running a scan but is there any chance a keystroke capture could have been installed or anything? If the Sophos scan comes up clear is that enough to be sure or is there anything else I should do / run?
Any help would be seriously appreciated. I feel such an idiot but I'm worried to carry on using the Mac for work until I'm certain there can't be any issues.
I have already searched and found several people who've asked similar questions but I couldn't find a definitive answer as to what I should do to be 100% safe.
    Thanks,
    Ian

    You're safe.

  • Any ideas for the following problem: when mailing links with firefox as the default, multiple files appear and I can't close them or successfully mail the link?

I may have picked up a virus. I use an iMacBook Air. When I attempt to send links via my default (Firefox) email program, Firefox immediately opens dozens of files that I'm not able to close (when I attempt to open or close these, they scroll horizontally and won't stop). I am unable to do anything except quit Firefox. The mail naturally never gets sent through Firefox; I'm not a particularly adept computer user, so I don't know what to do about this.

This link should help you resolve this - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+keeps+opening+many+tabs+or+windows
You will probably have the mailto protocol set to "use Firefox", the above link show how to fix that.

  • Mail is linking unrelated emails into conversation threads - is there a fix for this?

Mail is putting unrelated email messages into conversation threads. This is making it hard for me to find emails relating to different projects. The emails don't have anything in common apart from being addressed to me - different senders, subject lines, no content in common. I like working with conversations, but this is a pain.
I've seen several discussions online about this issue going back some years, so it's a real shame Apple haven't found a fix for this. I've read a couple of recent discussions here that link this issue to Yosemite - however I'm not using Yosemite (it's a work computer and they are slow to allow us to upgrade). My details are as follows:
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
    OS Mountain Lion 10.8.5
    Mail v6.6
I know how to switch off 'Organize by conversations' in the View menu, but that isn't fixing the problem, it's taking away functionality that I like. I have tried unchecking 'Include related messages' in Preferences, but that doesn't change anything. I've tried rebuilding the Mailbox, nothing changed.
One thing that I hope Apple developers take note of - there doesn't seem to be a way to manually disassociate individual email messages from threads. That function would be really useful.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    GM

Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • I use Yahoo mail. I went to Firefox options to change my "mail to" to Yahoo, but when I click on e-mail a link, I wind up in my Yahoo in-box and not a compose b

If I have a web site on my screen that I want to send to someone, I right-click, click on "Yahoo", then click on "E-mail this page". My Yahoo in-box opens, rather than a blank e-mail compose page with the link in blue.

Hi jaxjax, yes, I see that too. They are not decoding the URL fully, and they are not getting the page title into the subject line.
I can't fix how Yahoo works, but maybe we can come up with a workaround for Yahoo! mail users that isn't too much of a pain. Maybe this:
    (1) Open a tab to Yahoo! mail so you can see your current server name, for example:
    us-mg4.mail.yahoo''.''com
You'll need that information in a minute.
    (2) Select and copy the following script (please visit this thread to copy the script in case it got corrupted in the email notification):
    javascript:void(window.open('https://us-mg4.mail.yahoo''.''com/neo/launch?action=compose&to=&subject='+encodeURIComponent(document.title)+'&body='+encodeURIComponent(location.href),'_blank'));
    (3) Create a new bookmark in a convenient location, such as the Bookmarks Toolbar
    * If you usually display the Bookmarks Toolbar, right-click it and choose New Bookmark.
    * If you prefer not to display the Bookmarks Toolbar, click the bookmarks menu, then right-click an existing bookmark and choose New Bookmark.
For "Name" you can choose something like Email-Y.
For "Location", paste the script. Then move the cursor to the beginning of the line and edit the Yahoo! server to match your mail server.
    Finally, click Add.
Now on a page you want to share, click your new bookmark and a message should launch in a new tab with the correct subject and body. (For me, it takes several seconds to appear after the Yahoo! inbox appears.)
    Any luck?

  • After installing Firefox 6, when I click on an e-mail (thunderbird) link, Firefox stays on the backround and does not open in front. How can I make firefox come to the front automatically when a link is clicked?

If I receive an e-mail on thurnderbird with a link to a URL, if I click it firefox will open in the background, but it won't automatically com to the front, but will stay in the back. I have to click on the thurnderbird icon to make the firefox screen come up.

  • Windows Mail App: Links appearing as plain text.

Some of my emails are not properly displaying web links through my Yahoo account.  For example:  I am personally subscribed to a website known as Slickdeals (http://slickdeals.net), and none of their Deal Notifications have active links within
the Mail app.  Instead, website addresses appear as plain text, even though the same links work just fine when logging into my Yahoo Mail account through IE or Google Chrome.
How can I fix this issue?  I actually love the Mail app, but this is simply a deal-breaker for me if it can not be amended.

website addresses appear as plain text, even though the same links work just fine when logging into my Yahoo Mail account through IE or Google Chrome.
That could just be a difference between E-mail client treatment of text strings which look like URLs but are in HTML and therefore are not links.   Different E-mail clients also provide different functionality in support of such strings when Plain-text
    messages are involved.
Notice that now IE10 has a helpful right-click Go to copied address command to help reduce the inconvenience of such a situation.

  • Mailing a link to a web page from safari freezes safari?

    iPad recently upgraded to iOS6,
When attempting to email a link to a page, the email UI appears, I can enter an email address, but the send and cancel buttons are not responsive.
