Maintaining arch src code for offline compilations/hacking

hello,
i would like to maintain local copy of all pkgbuilds and associated tarballs, patches, and what not that is needed to build a package. my main catalyst behind this is that i do not always have an internet connection and i find myself need to recompile a package or just would like to have available src code for offline viewability. to my knowledge archlinux does not have src ISOs.
i looked into the manpages and '--allsource' switch for makepkg along with 'makeworld' could be leveraged to accomplish what i'm trying to do. they only thing i'm worried about is if the combination of these commands can be used to perform incremental syncs monthly to maintain fresh copy of archlinux source code,
any help and guidance is appreciated, thanks

jasonwryan wrote:Have you looked at asp?
looks like a pretty neat tool over abs, but it doesn't seem to interpret PKGBUILD files to fetch the needed tarballs etc like makepkg would do.
for now i copied /var/abs to ~/ and i cd into {core,extra,..} and use this:
for d in *; do cd $d; makepkg --allsource --verifysource -f; cd ..; done

    Dear Anubha,
I hope these windows illustrate what I am facing.
The above window shows the prompt that the software requires activation.
    The version is 8.1.0.
This next window is the point where I select activation by phone.
This final window shows that the "response code" is not returned.  I get an
    "Activation Number" instead.

  • Can we maintain diff tax codes for one tax condition type in creating CRs

    Hi Gurus,
Can we maintain diff tax codes for one tax condition type during maintaining of Condition Records. (Taxes)
For example in VK11 screen for different combination of tax classification for customer and tax classification for material and
tax codes like P0, P1, P2 etc. If so which tax code will be picked during creation of sales order? Pls help me........
    Regards.......Divakaran

    Hi Karan,
    Yes we can.
For example you have three tax code
    P0 -- 0% (Fully exempt)
    P1-- 5% (Half tax)
    P2 -- 10% (Full tax)
Now when you create the condition record then you have to create the three condition record for one condition type
    MWST
Country -- tax classification of customer -- tax classification of material -- Tax % -- Tax code

  • Example code for java compiler with a simple GUI

There is no question here (though discussion of the code is welcome).
    /* Update 1 */
Now available as a stand alone or webstart app.! The STBC (see the web page*) has its own web page and has been improved to allow the user to browse to a tools.jar if one is not found on the runtime classpath, or in the JRE running the code.
    * See [http://pscode.org/stbc/].
    /* End: Update 1 */
This simple example of using the JavaCompiler made available in Java 1.6 might be of use to check that your SSCCE is actually what it claims to be!
If an SSCCE claims to display a runtime problem, it should compile cleanly when pasted into the text area above the Compile button. For a compilation problem, the code should show the same output errors seen in your own editor (at least until the last line of the output in the text area).

Good idea, and since the line count is only a handful of lines of code to implement, I took that option. See the [line count|http://pscode.org/stbc/help.html#linecount] section of the (new) [STBC Help|http://pscode.org/stbc/help.html] page for more details. (Insert plaintiff whining about the arbitrary limits set - here).
I considered adding line length checking, but the [Text Width Checker|http://pscode.org/twc/] ('sold separately') already has that covered, and I would prefer to keep this tool more specific to compilation, which leads me to..
kevjava wrote: 1. A button to run the code, to see that it demonstrates the problem that you wish for the forum to solve...
Interesting idea, but I think that is better suited to a more full blown (but still relatively simple) GUId compiler. I am not fully decided that running a class is unsuited to STBC, but I am more likely to implement a clickable list of compilation errors, than a 'run' button.
On the other hand I am thinking the clickable error list is also better suited to an altogether more abled compiler, so don't hold your breath to see either in the STBC.
You might note I have not bothered to update the screenshots to show the line count label. That is because I am still considering error lists and running code, and open to further suggestion (not because I am just slack!). If the screenshots update to include the line count but nothing else, take that as a sign. ;-)
Thanks for your ideas. The line count alone is worth a few Dukes.

Ex. Change the alternative screen to 2009 for variable key 10 - this screen includes COUNC.

    Hi,
You don't have to worry about compliation. XI will automatically comple it when you create the udf, activate it and test your mapping. In case of any error it will give compliation error there itself.
Regarding all the mandatory jar files which are required for compilation is already available in XI server.
If you are using any third party libraries(jar files) you just need to add the jar file in your external definition and need to import the necessary packages in User Define Function. I hope it answers all your questions.
    Thanks

    Hi scg,
I took a look at your file and researched a little bit about your issue, I have not been so lucky with the research since most of the doceuments are related to previous versions of the software, nevertheless it is also what makes me think that the file might be corrupted or some issue related to it so and I have found some tests that you could try:
    1. Create a new FPGA file with your code on it and compile it again.
    2. Turn off the firewall and compile again
    3. Restart the compiler Services
Hope you might find this information helpful!

  • What are the compiler generated codes for objective-c?

After the compilation, the code for c/c++ is known as "object code" i.e. ".obj" file, and the binary executable file is ".exe" .
Similarly for java the compiled code is known as ".class" file.
In case of Objective-c what is the output of Compiler and what is the Executable file?

Strictly speaking, .obj and .exe refer only to the output of the compiler and linker for a Windows system (or cross compiler).  For *nix compliant systems the output of the compiler is usually given a .o suffix and the executable produced after linking is named whatever you choose; but usually with no suffix at all.
Also, technically speaking, Java .class fiels don't fit neatly into this paradigm.  The output of a Java compiler isn't object code, per se; it's optimized byte-code that can be run by the JRE.

       Now what should i do?

    Hello Pavan,
When you create a material master record, the control record must exist for the company code so without maintaining period in OMSY you will not be able to create the material master record.
To Allow backposting or Disallow backposting you need to maintain indicators in this transaction.
You can use, MMPV/MMPI if you missed out this setting.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need to compile C code for Solaris 5.4 target

    Hi,
I'm current on a project where the target platform is Solaris 5.4. I believe the SunOS version is 2.4. Unfortunately, there is no way I can get the customer to upgrade their server or OS.
In my search so far I've been unsuccessful in finding a compiler for that platform. The oldest gcc I can find is for SunOS 2.5.
What other options do I have?
Will code compiled with the C compiler in the Sun Studio 12 be able to run on SunOS 2.4? If so, is there a command line option I need to set while compiling the code?

No available Sun compiler can be used on, or to generate code for, SunOS 5.4 (Solaris 2.4). Even Sun Workshop 5.0, released in 1998, did not support Solaris 2.4.
If you develop code to be run on Solaris 2.4, you need to compile on Solaris 2.4 (or earlier). Binaries created on a later version of Solaris will not in general run on an earlier version of Solaris. I think that Sun WorkShop 3.0 was the last version that supported Solaris 2.4, but it might have been WorkShop 2.0. Those antiques are not available from Sun.
If I were in this situation, I would tell the customer that the OS and all support software are many years past End Of Service Life. No support is available, the software is no longer available, and I can't help them unless they are willing to upgrade to supported software. (I might also ask the customer if they still use Windows 3.1 on their PCs. The situation is comparable.)
If you don't have that option, your next best hope is that the customer has a C compiler on their system. If so, find a way to use it. If it's a Sun compiler, you will have a problem acquiring a license to run it. You will probably have to run it on their system.
If the customer doesn't have a compiler, I guess you have to keep trolling in newsgroups and forums, looking for a compiler that supports Solaris 2.4. Good luck.
