Maintaining Products

Hi members
II'm having a problem in maintaining products in CRM.
If i create a material(say laptop) and i want to give service to that saying monthly service and I also want to give warranty for 1 yr.
then should i create-
1)a product type MATERIAL(laptop)
2)product type SERVICE(monthly service)
3)product type WARRANTY(1 yr warranty)
and then assign these service and warranty products in the relationships tab of the material(laptop).
Is this the way of creating products in CRM?

I've a  question- If I try to create a material with category MAT_FERT, then why does it let me enter few more category IDs in the GENERAL tab and Product Categories field.
I've 1 last stupid question guys- Correct me if I'm wrong---In the Sales Order, if I put in the Sold-to-Party as some XYZ with Sales org 3000, Distr Ch 01, then I tried to assign a product in the sales order but it gave me an error. I think the product I want to put in the sales order should be having the same Sales Area data of the Sold-to-Party XYZ in the Sales and Distribution tab(Path is Master data->Products->Maintain Products) .

  • Error in Maintain products page

    Hi,
    I used the following menu path to open maintain products page
    SAP Menu->Master data->Products->maintain products
    and got the following error:
    Execute the upgrade report "COM_SETTYPE_ATTRIBUTE_40"
    Can anyone pl tell me how to execute this report?

    Are you using CRM 4.0? If yes then have a look at the note 629018. It gives a "Z" report Z_DELETE_INCON_ENTRIES to solve this problem.

  • Can't find  Set type when maintain Product Category in Local Scenarios

    hi, expert
    We use SRM7.0 in Local Scenarios. Just create local material.
    Our developer made a 'Product Categories mass inport programme' , but for some unexpected reasons, we cann't check or edit original prodcuct categories. so I have to create new product category manually.
      When i create prodcut ,  i get a error message ' Data cannot be maintained for set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT . '  So i wanna add set types 'COMM_PR_SHTEXT' to this product category. but i cann't find this set type in the list whiche ever exist !
      which i can find in the list show below:
          CALL_FWD_TD
          COMM_PR_GTIN
          COM_COMMERCIAL
          COM_TA_R3_ID
          CRMM_PR_TAX
          GSM_PHONE_TD
          ISPS_MARA
      what should i to do, make  the set type 'COMM_PR_UNIT' , ' COMM_PR_SHTEXT ' and some 'Z_xx_settype'... can be used.

  • Maintaining Product relationships in accessories section in product master

    Hi all,
    We have a requirement  to add the maintenance product in the u201CAccessories section in the Relationships tabu201D of the CRM product master data.
    Kindly let me know the standard FM/BAPIu2019s or programs can be used to add the relationship between two products.
    Please note we need the FM/BAPI only to do this.

    Hi Addy,
    These releationships can be maintained directly in Web UI too. If you have tabs like Accessories under Relationships in Products, then in Web UI too u will see an Assignment Block by name Accessories. If you dont, then pick it from personalisation. If its not in Personalisation then you will have to pick it from Page Configuration.
    But those relationships can be maintained directly in Web UI too but u wont see any Relationships AB in products in Web UI.
    Let me know in case you still have doubts.

    Hi,
    There is no standard field which is available to enter the production start date but you can use the field GUARANTEE in the header of the sales order for your reference but this is at header level or you can use in item level text if this is only for your reference.

  • How to maintain production version for material and how it will work

                          i  have created alternative bom for a material , My FG is having two  RM1 and RM2. like below,

                    FG---->RM2
    i created alternative BOM. how it will fetch raw materils from BOM while doing production confimation.  what is meant by production  version and how to configure that. how it will work

    Dear Raja karthik,
    1.Production version is a combination of BOM & Routing in Discrete scenario & in REM scenario its a
    combination of BOM & Rate routing/Routing.The same can also be created only containing the BOM incase if it is going to be
    used for a sub-contracting purchase info record.
    2.Production version is a method or technique which's is used to produce a material.
    3.A Material may be having one or more than one production version.
    4.Production version can be differentiated by using either the validity date or Lot size range.
    5.Say For Eg: Prod.Version1 --> Alt BOM1 & Routing1
    Prod.Version2---> Alt BOM2 & Routing 1.
    6.It has the status Locked and unlock.We can lock it when it is to blocked for any usage purpose.
    6.Generally its created using T code MM02,by selecting MRP4 view and clicking on Production version key.
    7.It's a master data in REM scenario.
    8.Production versions can also be created using T code C223 for more than one material.
    9.Planned independent requirements can be created production version specific in MD61.

  • Query in Maintain Products!!!!

    Hi all,
              Can  anyone please tell me as to how to delete a category which has been assigned to a Product .
    When I open the category and try to delete the category I get a message that 'Category has been assigned to Products . Deletion not possible !!!!'.
    When I try to delete the category by opening the product , there is no delete Option.
    Also, when I try to delete the product itself , it is not allowing.
    Any pointers as to how to delete a Category which has been assigned to a Product would be of great help!!!

    If a product has been already created under the category that you are trying to delete, then the deletion of the category is not possible with out deleting the product first.
    To delete the product you first have to archive the product first  and then delete the product.Once you have done that the category under the hierarchy can be deleted.
    Procedure to archive and delete the product is as following:
    1. Product created should be marked for deletion
    2. Product created should not be involved in any open transaction.
    Archiving can be done through the Tc : SARA
    Steps to be followed are:
    1. Select "write" and then select the object for deletion.
    2. Create a variant
    3. Select the start date.
    4. Select the Spool parameter, under that select output device as LP01.
    5. Then execute (F8)
    ( For the Archived file to be create select the production mode)
    After Archiving the product then, come back to Tc: SARA
    1. Select "Delete"
    2. Under Archive Selection select the archived product
    3. Select the start date.
    4. Select the Spool parameter, under that select output device as LP01.
    5. Then execute (F8)
    The product you created will be deleted. Now delete the category.

  • Maintain penalty costs in product master data via macro

    Hi all,
    I am trying to use the function MATLOC_SET to maintain the penalty cost (field Non. Del. Penalty) on SNP1 tab, but it didn't work.
    Is it possible to use this function to update this field or I need to use an other function to do this?
    I tried :
    1) MATLOC_SET( 'NDPEN' ; 123 ; ACT_PRODUCT ; ACT_LOCATION ; ACT_VERSION )

    Yes, it's possible to maintain product master data via macro by functions. In my case, I'm using MATLOC_SET and it's work fine... except for the penalty costs fields.

    I can't use the MASSD to do this because the costs are calculated in the macro based on sku/location forecast. But call a custom program in the macro is a good idea. I only have a doubt... Is it possible to transfer the calculated values in the macro to the custom program? If it's possible, how can I do to call the custom program transferring these values?

    The function MATLOC_SET works fine for other fields, only doesn't work to penalty costs fields...  
    I saw that the structures are different, but the help that provides by SAP not mention any restriction. So, I think there is some other specific function to update the costs and i tried the MATLOC_EXTRA_SET, but it updates only extra fields...  
    May be having another function to do this...

  • Unable to display the pricing conditions for a product.

        I have created a product with help of function modules.The problem is that i am able to populate the pricing conditions data into internal table,but the pricing conditions  is not being displayed in the Masterdata->Products-> Maintain Products screen. Can anyone suggest me in this regards.Is there any function module to be used? or any other procedure to be followed for the pricing conditions to be dispalyed?     Hi,
    The pricing in SD and MM is a separate module like thing and is maintained for different products based on the Condition records.
    The basic Pricing Procedure consists of Condition  Types, Condition Records, Accesss Sequences and condition tables.
    Generally with respect to all sales and purchase documents the pricing is maintained in KONV  and KONP tables based on the different condition types.

  • Config for Production client

    Dear all,
    I'm a new basis and now I'm working in big project ERP. I have a disturbed about config for Production client.
    In scc4 we must set client role is Production and No change allowed for Objects. But in production some time we need do Open and Close Period, or change following business requirement, ... This is not allowed to do in Production client.
    How do we config for Production client to cover this requirements ?
    Do we need a config client for maintain Production client ? Example: Production client is 500, Config client is 100. When we need Open or Close Period or change anything, we do in 100 and transfer request to 500.

    You can customize transaction to be executable although the setting in SCC4 is "productive", this is accomplished by using transaction SOBJ:
    Note 1497640 - Open and close periods in productive client
    You can theoretically put every customizing view there and make it "executable" in a production system.

  • Product allocation is not working after setting all required config!

    Hello SD gurus,  Would you please help me to resolve this issue?
    I followed and configured all the required steps for product allocation  in ECC 6.0 Version still  the product allocation is not working as expected.
    Here are the steps performed
    1. Created procedure through OV1Z
    Maintained Product allocation procedureT.code OV1Z
    2.  Maintain product allocation object Transaction code: OV2Z
    3.   Create required info structure as per requirement T.code MC21
    4. Specify Hierarchy and Define the “Product allocation planning structure”
    Transaction code: OV3Z
    5.Define Consumption periods
    6. Control product allocation
    T. code: OV4Z
    Selected the product allocation procedure and given the required criteria and assigned to Info. Structure S991. Activated ‘Requirement category’ for product allocation
    8. T.code OVZ0
    Activate schedule line category for product allocation
    S991 Info structure Planning parameters updated
    Mc7F
    Create update
    T.code MC24
    Activate the update
    T.code OMO1
    Create planning Hierarchy
    T.code: MC61/62
    Maintain planning type
    . T.Code: MC8A/B
    Created the product allocation plan for required quantity  through MC94 IN spite of reserving stock as shown against the product allocation material specific and customer specific product allocation is not  worked and the regular Atp check allocated stock to some other customer when created  SO.

    Actually to say availability check is working but not product allocation.
    I checked the settings in Material master MRP 3 view for strategy group  and it is 40.
    Availability check is 02 assigned. OVZ9 settings are assigned correctly 02-A- SD Order.
    Not knowing what is preventing to reserve the stock against product allocation!
    Do you or any one know where to see the product allocation stock?

    <b>The CRM product master is a collection or arrangement of various settypes which contain specific data.</b>
    Pre-defined settypes are delivered (e.g. basic product data; conversion of unit of measure)
    Enhancement of the product master with own settypes is possible
    Settypes correspond to database tables
    Attributes correspond to your product characteristics.
    <b>Attributes can be summarized with the help of set types</b>
    In the system there are standard set types which are always available. However, you can also create and implement user-defined set types, to depict marketing data, for example.
    The usage of set types can be restricted (e.g. certain set types only allowed for products of type product) Distribution chain-dependent set types can be created.
    A set type is only permissable for a product when the set type is assigned to the category to which you then assign the product. To assign a set type to a category, use the function Edit categories and hierarchies.
    You can assign a set type to several product categories within a category hierarchy. However, each set type can only be assigned within one hierarchy. In doing so, a multiple assignment of a set type to one and the same product (over contrasting categories) is prevented.
    A product can be assigned to several categories, as long as these are within different category hierarchies. A product can also be assigned to only one category per hierarchy.
    The assignment to the base hierarchy R3PRODSTYP is vital, so that basic data set types are available, for example.
    R3PRODSTYP depicts the product types present in the R/3 system.
    Customer product numbers can be assigned. This Customer product ID is stored in the relationships
