Major Safari Problems that need dire solutions

II have been having this problem since I got the phone, which was back in December 2010. When I use Safari, often when I load or refresh pages, the browser automatically takes me to the bottom of the page. The browser is also very sluggish when typing with the Apple wireless keyboard, loading and reloading pages, and viewing pages. Clearing the cash, history and cookies doesn't help, neither does the reset. I am not running Wi-fi but strictly 3G. I wish Apple would also come out with an Apple Support Communities app so that I wouldn't have to use Safari with this. Anyone have any solutions?

If you are using 10.0.3 or above Apple added a backups folder that for a little extra protection in cases like this. If you quite FCPX go to your Final Cut Pro Projects folder. Find the folder that has the project in question. If it has a backups folder there should be a file with a date stamp and .fcpproject extention, that is your back-up. Just move the back-up from that folder one folder up to the place where you deleted CurrentVersion.fcpproject from. When I have had to do this I haven't renamed the backup but some people to recomend that you rename it to CurrentVersion.fcpproject and it seems to work both ways. Ofcourse it wont work if there is already a CurrenVersion file there you will need to delete that one first.
If you don't have the backups folder or there is nothing in it I am not sure if there is anything that can be done.

If you are on Lion or newer, follow directions here:
Reset the user password in OS X Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks
Reset 10.5 Leopard & 10.6 Snow Leopard password
1. Power on or restart your Mac.
2. At the chime (or grey screen if your chime is turned off), hold down Command+S on your keyboard to enter single-user mode.
3. This step is optional, but it’s a good idea because it checks the consistency of the hard disk before moving on. At the prompt, type fsck -fy and press Enter/Return. Wait for the checks to complete before going to the next step.
4. Type mount -uw / and press Enter.
5. Type launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plistand press Enter.
6. Type ls /Users and press Enter. This lists all of the usernames on the computer – helpful if you don’t know or remember what these are.
7. Type dscl . -passwd /Users/username password and replace “username” with one of the users displayed in the previous step. Replace “password” with a new password of your choice. Press Enter.
8. Type reboot and press Enter.

N70 problems that need to be fixed in next FW

Since there's been a time since Nokia released a new FW for the N70, maybe they need to know what need to be fixed, and ASAP, since these are severe problems.
1. The Music Player: It starts slow, very slow. In the v2 and v3 FW it used to open in a second, now it takes almost a minute. It displays the "Opening" sequence, and then "Processing" sequence, and only after that you enter the Music Menu. Also, veru important issue: If you go to All Songs -> select a song, and then hold a button from the joystick, the Music Player crashes. But the opening is the MOST IMPORTANT. Make it quicker.
2. The Gallery has to be faster. We have to wait a lot of time for the Gallery to open, then we select Pictures & Videos. Here we find a "Opening" sequence of about a minute, and then we wait a lot until the pictures are loaded (if they're newly added).
3. Speaking of pictures, when N70 owners make a picture/video, they don't really have time to view the picture/video, since the viewing time is very limited (about 3 seconds). How about making a BACK button, so that we'll go back to the viewfinder when we're done viewing newly captured moments?
4. When in Messaging -> Delivery reports, you can't use the C button to delete delivery reports.
5. No information about Radio in Active Standby, when Radio is on and playing.
These are only a few of the problems that the N70 continues to have. Please, other N70 users, post your issues/bugs here, so that Nokia will try (hopefully) to improve the N70. I know the N70 is not an important product anymore, but it does not mean it has to have serious issues.

1. It's video capture problem - microphone sensitivity is too high (only on mp4 and only on 5.xx firmware). Also refresh rate during videocapture is very slow. It's not possible to make nice mp4 video capture! Interesting is that 3gp capture is nice, fast with clear sound, only mp4 capture have a problem...
2. I don't know why it's not possible to make clean reboot now. (e.g. on FExplorer, reboot). N70 with last firmware during reboot freezes (white screen)
3. Should be possible to turn off the Nokia sound during N70 starting? I have little childrens and every morning when I turn on my N70 they all awake...
NOKIA, please, is it possible to prepare new fw?

Major Safari Problems...Need Help ASAP

I am not able to quite Safari and it kept freezing on me today and it has been really slow lately...what's up with that and what can I do? I want to upgrade my software but I can't because I need to quite Safari to update my computer in order to restart it and it won't quite.

I understand how frustrating it can be when an application becomes unresponsive. You can force quit any application that becomes unresponsive either by using the shortcut Command-Option-Escape or by selecting the Apple logo in the top left corner of the Menu bar.

IPod problem that has no solution

The problem seems to have no solution anyway, so I hope someone here might have some advice. I have a 5th generation iPod with video for Windows that is a little over a year old. It's always worked fine until recently.
I had to send my computer in for repair so I backed up all my files onto my iPod. When I got the computer back they did a complete restore so the files on my iPod are the only available copies. I've reinstalled iTunes but neither the computer or iTunes seems to recognize the iPod anymore.
I tried all of the 5 r's except the restore option because I don't want to lose these files that have already been lost on my computer. Not to mention that I can't restore it without the computer or iTunes recognizing it. I also can't update the software for this same reason.
The other problem is that since the computer won't recognize the iPod I can't charge it.
I can't seem to figure out any solution. It's like a catch 22. It needs to be fully charged to fix the problem of the computer not recognizing it but since the computer doesn't recognize it I can't charge it. It's not dead, but it will be if I don't solve this soon.
Since it worked fine before I sent the computer out I feel like its probably not a problem with the iPod. But on that note, I know its not the USB ports because they work with other peripherals.
Also, I just ordered a MacBook and I am planning on moving my files over to it when it arrives, but I can't do that with a nonfunctioning iPod.
Any ideas? Please help if you can. I would really appreciate it.

You can use the USB Power Adapter accessory to charge your iPod without connecting it to your computer. Just plug it into a power outlet directly. I think it charges faster this way too. That should solve your power problem.
As for the files remaining on your iPod. You might consider switching your iPod to Disk Mode:

This may help your computer recognize it as a regular USB drive. If that works, you can then copy all of your files to the computer using Windows Explorer. After that, you can consider restoring your iPod now that the files have been transferred back to your computer.

Unique Problem That Needs Time Machine

The title of this post may very well be misleading, but nevertheless i am in a predicament. I recently installed the 10.5.3 update, but some errors occurred. Since these errors are not the problem, i won't go into it.
Suffice it to say, i used my brothers recently bought MacBook's install CD to try and revert back using my external HDD with Time Machine. My original Leopard install CD is in storage 2000 miles away (college student home for summer). My MacBook was purchased in August of '06 and I installed Leopard on it in Jan '08. My brother's MacBook was bought only a couple weeks ago, if that long.
Looking back now, i would assume the newer Install CD isn't compatible with the older Mac. I get the error message "Mac OSX cannot be installed on this computer." and given the options "OK" and "Restart".
I was hoping that i could use this newer CD to tap into the Time Machine "archives" on my external HDD and restore my Mac to the way it was.
Please help me...

You can call any Apple number if you don't have AppleCare. Tell them what you need and give them your serial number. If you registered your 10.5 install disc when you installed it, they can pull it up and verify.
I just went through this a few weeks ago when I thought I lost my install disc. As soon as I received the replacement and went to put it away, I found the original.
EDIT: I made a point to ask them if this service had anything to do with my having AppleCare and they said it did not)

I was charging my bb 9800 with my laptop then i disconnected the charging after a while i saw that i phone was off not able to come on then i tried charging again it keep rebooting then becomes hot and stops and switched off as battery low,tried charginng with charger same experience then i use a desktop multipurpose phone battery charger,thge barttery charges fo a while then i put it into the phone the phone comes on but gets too hot,the batttery level keeps dropping so fast after a while the phone goes off the battery is dead again,please what is the problem and i need solutiion...

Safe mode is as instructed in that KB...please read it and give it a try. You may have to make several attempts to find just the precise key press combination that works for your specific device. It is possible that one of your add-on apps is causal here, and running in Safe Mode for a while might help you determine that.
Otherwise, you'd have to try a clean OS reload, but leave off your add-on apps. If the behavior does not present, then you could start slowly adding your apps -- perhaps leaving a week between? -- so as to determine which one is causal.
Failing that, you need to investigate if there is a newer OS for your device that might perhaps cure this problem:

Major iTunes problem! Need Help!!!

I have completely cleaned out my iTunes library and all music files on my iPod, but it still says I am using half of my iPod storage. (8.79 out of 19 GIGs) I have uninstalled, re-installed, rebooted, shut down and still every time I plug in my iPod, it reads half full. Can anyone tell me how to get my meter back to zero?

Just run the iPod updater. One of the choices is to restore it back to factory defaults. That should wipe the drive. Then you can run the updater again and install the latest version of software for your particular iPod.
I had the same problem once before, and that took care of it, lickity split!

Quicktime 7.6.4 problem that might not have really been addressed yet

Other than the export controller problem that has been mentioned before, in which the export controller stops working, I am having another problem with 7.6.4 that needs a solution. Well, to me, it looks like it has something to do with QuickTime 7.6.4...after explorer.exe stopped working and then restarted, I looked at the event viewer on my computer, which runs Windows Vista, and saw the following in the entry for the error:

This has happened several times since 7.6.4 was installed with the iTunes 9.0 upgrade I did. Today, I installed iTunes 9.0.2.25, which had QuickTime 7.6.4 with it also. I know iTunes won't run without QuickTime, and I need iTunes because I have an iPhone 3G. Most of the time when the incident with explorer.exe happens, it's while I am accessing the My Computer folder, which has an iPhone icon in it along with the drive letter icons and so on. Occasionally, it happens when I access any other random folder on my computer. It's annoying, and I'd like to know something: other than going back to a previous version of Quicktime, is there some other way to stop the QTCF.dll_unloaded problem? I am thankful to anyone who can help.

sfc worked that time. After the scan, it told me that there was a corrupt file that it couldn't repair, and it told me to look at CBS.log for details. All the CBS.log file said for the time of that scan was something about the settings.ini file for Windows Vista's sidebar being corrupt and unable to be repaired. Here's some of what it said:

By the way, I just tried opening up My Computer again, and a few seconds after it opened, I got another error, with being the faulting module. It's actually a minor problem, because other than that, everything else works fine.

I find now that because I can not to sign into the Adobe application manager I can not use Muse. I have turned the firewall off both
Windows and Kaspersky (Windows firewall is always off) Not being able to use Muse has only started today. I last used it on Wednesday.
Buggered if I can work out why I can not log into ADOBE application manager.
The issue has gone from being an inconvenience to problem that needs to be fixed.
Uninstalling and reinstalling AAM would that solve the problem. I can;t be the only one to have a problem. Others I know finding it
slow to login AAM. (That does not work either)

I don't think that a software update from Apple will solve the issues that you are having. You have a rogue installation. After you posted I have just done the following:
Disk Utility can verify my partitioned Volume (including my boot disk) AND REPAIR the non-boot disks on the same Volume without a glitch. It repairs the non-boot disks containing data smoothly.
I have used Mail to send some mails from some Yahoo and Hotmail accounts to my Thunderbird client containing GMail accounts - absolutely normal.
I have iLife '09 but my iMovie '09 and iPhoto '09 open in a jiffy and I see no issues here. I have 6GB RAM (Maximum) on an early 2008 Macbook Pro with a 750GB hard drive partitioned with 120GB reserved for the Boot Drive.
I am sorry that I cannot help further but I am sure there must be a way to reinstall the software without having to revert to restoring your ML backup. I have two clones and if you have such I would attempt to do that through that rather than through Time Machine - that is of course if you have a cloned drive.

After the iOS 7.0.2 update words with friends is not working for me either. When I attempt to open the app it just closes itself after a few seconds of being open. This happens every time I attempt to open it.

Cryptic solution offered to problem - translation needed!

I recently started a thread concerning a serious problem that I'm having with my Photoshopped alpha textures displaying white borders in Unity. I recieved a cryptic response that sounded promising, but the poster has ignored repeated posts and PMs from me asking him to elaborate. I'm posting his comment here in the hope that some kind soul can explain his solution to me in simple terms - I am a long-time Photoshop user but I'm not particularly technical so the majority of this sentence went right over my head:
'You need to dilate the RGB info and treat the Alpha as unmulttiplied thereafter. This can be done by using the Minimum/ Maximum filter for instance.'
Specifically:
I don't understand the process involved in 'dilating'.
I don't understand what is meant by 'unmultiplied' with regard to alphas.
I have no idea what or where the Minimum/Maximum filter is.
