Quicktime 7.6.4 problem that might not have really been addressed yet

Other than the export controller problem that has been mentioned before, in which the export controller stops working, I am having another problem with 7.6.4 that needs a solution. Well, to me, it looks like it has something to do with QuickTime 7.6.4...after explorer.exe stopped working and then restarted, I looked at the event viewer on my computer, which runs Windows Vista, and saw the following in the entry for the error:

This has happened several times since 7.6.4 was installed with the iTunes 9.0 upgrade I did. Today, I installed iTunes 9.0.2.25, which had QuickTime 7.6.4 with it also. I know iTunes won't run without QuickTime, and I need iTunes because I have an iPhone 3G. Most of the time when the incident with explorer.exe happens, it's while I am accessing the My Computer folder, which has an iPhone icon in it along with the drive letter icons and so on. Occasionally, it happens when I access any other random folder on my computer. It's annoying, and I'd like to know something: other than going back to a previous version of Quicktime, is there some other way to stop the QTCF.dll_unloaded problem? I am thankful to anyone who can help.

sfc worked that time. After the scan, it told me that there was a corrupt file that it couldn't repair, and it told me to look at CBS.log for details. All the CBS.log file said for the time of that scan was something about the settings.ini file for Windows Vista's sidebar being corrupt and unable to be repaired. Here's some of what it said:

By the way, I just tried opening up My Computer again, and a few seconds after it opened, I got another error, with being the faulting module. It's actually a minor problem, because other than that, everything else works fine.

I have a program I'm working on, I have to seperate file classes.. I have one that is mainly just the class and its functions, the other I'm triing to get to use the previously mentioned class, but it keeps telling me that my variable might not have been initialized.. I have default constructor built in the first class file, but it doesn't seem to be using it when I try accessing it through the other class...

It is using the default c'tor. But since you didn't implement it, all it does is nothing.
But that's not the (immediate) problem. Somewhere you're using a local variable without setting a value for it. Hint: look at the line the error message hints at. Because I can't, because you don't tell and your posted code is unreadable.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
          Allow Plug-ins
Then click
          Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Bear with me, as I'm not particularly computer literate.
I found the computer listed (Powerbook 6,7, 12 inch screen) and the following note:
"Details: *This model is capable of using Mac OS 9 applications within the Mac OS X "Classic" environment provided with Mac OS X 10.4.11 "Tiger" and lower ("Classic" is not supported starting with Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard"). It cannot boot into Mac OS 9."
Does this mean if I purchase OSX 10.4.11, I can install it and then use software that works in the "Classic" environment?

All ISP-provided equipment is junk. You could get a decent router and connect it to the Verizon router in bridge mode. It should cost about $ 30.

When accessing shared folder - 'You might not have permission to use this network resource" .. A device attached to the system is not functioning

On a Windows 2008 R2 server that had been working fine, all of a sudden some shared folders became inaccessible. Clicking on them returned the following: "<Folder> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource. A device attached to the system is not functioning."
If I create another share with a different name for that same folder, it works fine. If I delete the original share then recreate it with the same name, I get the same error. However, if I right click on the problematic share and select 'map
network drive' that works. So this would not appear to be a permission issue.
I discovered this problem because the path for mapping the home folder as a property of their AD account stopped working.
I have tried most of the common things found on the internet. I've tried accessing via IP, same issue. While I only have a couple 2003 servers, those can access this resource.
At this point, I'm pretty much out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. I also have some reports of potential issues with some printer mappings too which I will have to investigate in the morning.
If anyone has a solution to this I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

Can you access the shard folder locally? Is a specific server cannot access the shared folder? Please try to Boot your server in Clean Mode to check if some third-party software cause the issue.

Variable might not have been initialised?

Hi I declare 2 lists at the begining of a method, the is "wrapped" using the Collections.synchronizedList method but when I try to compile the application it gives me the errors variable alltitles might not have been initialised and variable allauthors might not have been initialised: Here is my code

List alltitles = Collections.synchronizedList(new ArrayList(alltitles));//The next statements are inside a loop

Please use code tags (simply select the code and press the code button, this will format the code nicely). You can give variables a value at declaration to keep the compiler happy; you don't actually have to use this value but Java likes to give variables a value.

variable might not have been initializedThis is a useful message from the compiler. It will always say which variable is
the problamatic one, and on which line the compiler was able to determine that
there could be a problem. (Post the full compiler message if you can't figure it out *).
Giving variables a value that you don't intend to use can "smoother" logic errors
that then don't show up until you run the program much later. I would recommend
looking at the variable in question and changing the code so that it is given the
value you intend it to have before it is used.

Hardware changes might not have been detected

Hello,
I am getting the error message "hardware changes might not have been detected" for five days now. Using HP Pavillion g6Notebook PC/Product No. : D8Q59EA#ABF running OS Windows 8 (not wanting to upgrade to 8.1)
After Windows automatic security and KB updates, and HP update, five days ago I started having error messages when trying to watch videos online. Video would start and five seconds in 'black-out' with error message 'unable to play video' imbeded in video itself. I then noticed sound abscence on my laptop and noted that although all sound controls are at proper settings, there is no sound. Device manager is showing NO exclaimation marks or warnings. HP Action center is saying 'no issues' and Control Panel automated fix tools are all coming back as 'unable to fix problem', OR, when running troubleshooter in CP for hardware and devices getting the "hardware changes might not have been detected message". I have tried using a restoration point to before issues began, which temporarily fixes the sound issue but it then goes off again. Same with 'HP recovery' option for 'drivers', temporary fix that does not remain. Tried 'system restore' from a restoration point just done where sound WAS working but even that, once done, quickly lost the sound. Tried Microsoft onliine auto fix tools and they too are unable to fix the problem. Windows updates all up to date, no 'optional updates' available other than Bing Desktop and Microsoft Silverlight, both of which I do not want or need. Drivers all up to date it appears, including with HP Updates. Intuitively it feels as if the drivers are up to date, recognized and functioning, but then 'something' is 'disconnecting' their recognition/functioning, IF it is in fact even a driver issue. I have been reading for several days and narrowed it down to that. Seen a few articles re the EXACT same problem referenced on an OS Windows 7, but not ONE where a solution that fixes the problem exist! Thank you in advance for your help and please advise if further details are required. I have added no new hardware recently, or ever, in fact to my laptop, only Kaspersky Pure MANY months ago and it is working perfectly without conflicts. Thanks again.

Bit of a puzzler of an issue for sure. And you're right, there's very little out there in terms of similar error messages, and how to fix them.
I would consider going to the Windows Update window, and noting which ones went through lately. Then, another place to start first might be to go back to that same restore point again, and this time halting the automatic updates.
Once that is stable again, try updating any browsers you use, and also Adobe flash, as a lot of videos work off of that.
Secondly, before doing any more updates, go ahead and run the system file checker - might be something that it'll catch and fix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
Finally, if all is going alright, create another restore point, and then try the updates again, hopefully this time around they'll work

   MMC is not specific to GUI or MWDS. It is a management tool to start/stop server. It has nothing to do with GUI or NWDS.
1) Login with admin account (windows admin account, say sidadm) and check if MMC loads the tree with nodes for server instances. If so, use that and start server.
2) If required, check with authorizations for the windows account
3) If nothing works, then check these threads.

I am trying to load some items from my database server into my Object array and then pass the Object array into my JTable to be displayed. The problem is when I put the data[0]... within my while loop I get compilation errors starting that the variable might not have been inititialised.
So I then intialise my array but when I do that I get this Error: ERROR java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 1.
Any ideas how I can get it to load my data properly?

Report computers that do not have installed CDROMDrive

Using powershell I am attempting to get a report based on a predefined list of computers that shows which do not have a CDROMDrive.
Here is a sample of how I was attempting to generate the report. The problem is that if a computer does not have a CDROMDrive there is not output.

My current code is working in that it's output shows the CDROMDrives available on each computer.

I'm not including everything.. this should make sense. Impassable is a Point[].
I can't say how big the Impassable list will be until it reads the second line of the map file. However, that happens in the first run-through of the file-reading processes.
Is there a try/catch statement I can use to get past this?
