Make exported word document editable without loosing my layout?

Hey i have a huge problem and i have had this problem for more then a year now, i have asked for help all over the place even on these forums but everything runs to a dead end.
My problem is simple, I want to export my crystal report to Microsoft Word but i want the resulting word document to be editable (NO frames around fields).
I have tried exporting to EditableRTF but then my report header jumps under my Page header which means my first page displays with my Page Header first then comes my Report Header.  And also my page number stays 1 nevermind how many pages there are.
Please pretty please help achieve this. Our clients is furious that we cant get this done.

I have tried almost everything, I have tried this in Crystal Reports Designer with Xml data and exported with Crystal Reports but the results are the same as when i do it programmetically from my .net application.
When installing SP1 and SP2 it does not solve my problem instead i gain a problem, my date fields from my datasource do not map to my Crystal Report. I uninstalled sp2 and my problem with the date fields persisted i then uninstalled SP1 and reinstalled crystal reports from my CD and my date fields problem was gone. In any case Sp2 does not solve my problem.
I would be so greatfull if you could help me with this, any workaround or fix is welcome, all i need is to export my crystal report to a word document and be able to edit it without loosing my layout and fields NOT having frames around them
again i am greatfull for you helping me
thank you so much

  • Make a Word document read only

Is it possible in Dreamweaver 8 to make a word document or
other files read only? I have a site setup and want to display some
work I have done but don't want others to download or save it if
    that is possible.
    Thanks.

It's not a question of what Dreamweaver 8 (or any other
    edition of
Dreamweaver) can and cannot do. This may help:

BTW, in my experience, "Word document" is a terrible format

  • How to make the words show up without me prompting by tapping space bar?

Now that I have gotten all the text on the front page to appearall together and not one line at a time, each line prompted by me hitting the Space bar, how do I get the words to appear all on their own without me tapping the space bar? This will be exported as a video to Youtube so the viewer won't be able to tap the space bar to make the video progress.
Isn't there something called ”automatic”? I want to just click the “Play” button and have the text just appar all on its own.
Mireille, thanks for telling me about that Build feature. It worked nicely. I chose “iris.”

Oh now I see! It was in that hidden drawer, and to see that drawer you had to click Other Options. Ok. So now I set it to Automatic! Merci, Mereille. ~Lorna

  • How do I make a scanned document editable?

Is there an app (or program) already on my Mac that allows me to edit a scanned document, or to scan directly into Pages or Word For Mac?  I don't mind purchasing a program, if necessary, but it seems Mac has lots of functionalities built in... if you know where to find it.

You need OCR (optical character recognition) software.
It's not built in to OS X, so you'll have to search for a solution. There is an abundant selection in the App Store. Here is one and there are many others.
Readiris has been around for a very long time. I used it a while ago, but it's expensive, and there may be better alternatives today.
I have none in particular to recommend, so read the reviews and choose accordingly.

  • Export fla to avi without loosing animations

i have created a movie with intenal movies involved. The internal movies tween along a path in the main movie but animations to the sub movies don't show as they do in the swf - any suggestions.

From my experience.. its better to export as MOV first and then to AVI using software like erightsoft's "Super". AVI export from Flash isnt that great!

  • Is there a word document edits program

I've been trying to find an Office app. that works.  Is there such a thing?

Then the best place to ask would be in the Using iPhone forum - this forum is for Apple's defunct office suite AppleWorks.

  • Can you make one word echo? -Without automation...

    Hello All:
I cant find an answer to this question anywhere. In Sonar you can process small segments of audio within an audio track (called clip effects). This is great for -for instance -making a single drum hit echo. Does LE have the same option. I imagine this can be done with automation -but its actually simpler to just click and apply whatever effects you want -outside of having to draw lines and set up parameters. As a work around I have been copying whole tracks and pulling out tiny sections to apply the effect.
    Please advise

I believe there is a function to apply a plug-in to a specific region only in some DAWs but not Logic, I'm afraid - its quite usual to do what you appear to be doing though, putting the bit you want to effect on another track with the effect inserted on that track.
Using the automation is fairly easy if you automate the Bypass for the plug-in - its just either On above a certain value or Off below it.

  • Convert Adobe Form (with data) to Microsoft Word Document

    Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard
    Windows XP Professional SP2
    Microsoft Word 2003 SP3
I am attempting to convert an Adobe PDF Form (with data included) to a Microsoft Word document.
When I use the menu to attempt this, I get a Word document containing only the form fields.
I want to be able to grab all the text from the document, as these forms were used to fill in information for Job Descriptions, and I want to submit the text to job boards (without having to retype anything).
What are my options for obtaining this information?

    Bill:
Thank you for all of your help. I do not have the program in front of me, so I don't have a means of independently verifying this, until I go see the user tomorrow when he returns to the office ...
Just to confirm, a fillable PDF is different from a standard PDF, as it stores the form fields in a special way, likewise, the data is stored in a special way. This is actually a quite useful feature, for compiling data, if you use the form multiple times.
A standard export of a fillable PDF exports only the fields.
To get the data, I would have to choose to save form data.
To get the fields and the data, I have to print it using a PDF printer to create a new PDF document. Once I create this new PDF document, I can then export to Word as desired.
If I want ONLY form fields: (one-step process)
    Export > Microsoft Word > %filename%.DOC
If I want ONLY form data:(one-step process)
File > Save FORM DATA > FDF file format > %filename%.FDF
If I want both the form and the data: (two-step process)
File > Print to PDF > Save as %filename%.PDF
    Open %filename%.PDF > Export > Word Document
Is this the process? Pardon my confusion, but I am a newbie, and I do not have the program to test with.
Thanks for your help, kind sir.

  • Why can I no longer Save As a Word document?

I work in Pages, but whenever I need to send a document to someone I convert it to Word since most people seem to use MS Word. It's never been a problem, until today. I go to Save As... under the File menu and try to save a document titled "XYZ" as a Word document. But it is giving me this error: "The document “XYZ” could not be exported as “XYZ.doc." That's it. No explanantion, no reason why it can't do something it's always done. I also tried the export route. But, while I don't get an error, the supposedly exported Word document never appears where it should. Did some recent update cause this snafu? Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Whit

    Here are my two cents.
The resources defining the file formats which Pages may import or export are stored in the file :
    Macintosh HD:Applications:iWork '09:Pages.app:Contents:Info.plist
Assuming that you didn't installed the Developer tools, go to my iDisk (address below)
    Download :
    Pref Setter.app.zip
    Unpack the archive.
Open the file "Info.plist" with Pref Setter.
Open the entry entitled :  CFBundleDocumentsTypes
    Open the items 9, 10, 11, 12
    The normal contents is :
Double check the parameters available for items 9 & 10.
What you get may be linked to some oddity in these resources.

  • Can't export Word docs to network drive

I can't export Word documents to a network drive. I can save the document in .pages format, but if I try to export, the software goes through the motions, but the Word document is never created. If I "Save As" and check "Save Copy as Word Document," I receive an error message "The document ... could not be exported as ....doc." At least I get an error message, which is better than thinking a document exported when it didn't. I can't find any way to report this bug to Apple.

I'm not really surprised by this behaviour.
I think that good practice is to save / export on a 'normal' device then move the document from the 'normal' device to the network.

  • How can I send a word document as the body of email

I have documents that are based on Word Templates that I wish to send to clients. The documents require a reply with input in a table that needs completed by the client.
I understand there is a way to make the Word document in effect become the email and sent through TB.
Can someone explain what I need to do i.e. settings in Word and TB.
I don't want to send the documents either as pdf or attachment.

  • Whats size should a word document be to fit the ipad screen perfectly

I am looking at creating a word document i can then save as a pdf to use on an ipad, but whatize should i make the word document so that when i veiw it on an ipad it looks the same as it did on my screen in word?

I use documents to go for my files. I do not have to save them at any specific size. On my iPad, I can pinch to zoom in or out to any size I want. So, I do not see any need to save my files on my computer in a special size to be able to view them on my iPad.

  • Browsing ms-word document directly from portal content window.

    Hi,
I must make ms-word document directly browsing from portal content window.
Is there a blog mention about it?
    Thanks.

First, thanks for your reply. It's greatly appreciated. However, the level of your response fails to address the scope of the original question. Your first supposition is incorrect, that most MS Word docs copy uneventfully into the body of Gmail emails. This only applies to the most basic of MS Word docs (i.e., those utilizing minimal formatting, such as basic letters, etc.) and otherwise runs contrary to dozens of online complaints posted by users such as myself (though not on the Firefox website). Second, everyone knows you can add an attachment to Gmail emails. In this case, the recipient will not accept attachments of any kind, and has therefore asked that the content be copied directly into the email body. This is not uncommon in these cases. Third, the very nature of Notepad makes it unable to translate/interpret any documents beyond the most basic, hence its name: Notepad. Fourth, apparently this problem is rare or virtually non existent with other browsers, as all the complaints online appear to be Firefox related. Again, however, I appreciate you taking a stab at this.

  • Problems Trying to Save as a Word Document.

The primary reason I purchased Pages was for it's proclaimed ability to open Word documents, edit them, and resave them as Word documents.
I've managed to open my Word document and edit it, but the only option I have is "Save Version" when trying to save it.
I used the help feature and here's a screen shot of the instructions and me trying to follow them:
As you can see the only option is "Save a Version".

Time spent looking through the Menus and Inspectors will be well rewarded.
iWork's are probably the most logical of any program, working from the overall document down to details, from left to right and believe it or not the titles on both the Menus and Inspectors mean what they say.

  • IMovie trailer - how to make a copy to edit

I have an iMovie trailer I've created and I want to now make a copy, new name, etc., that I can change up a bit and publish separately.  I do not want to lose the current version either though.  Is there an easy way to make a copy to edit without starting from scratch?
    Thanks

    Hello NCGator82,
You can duplicate trailers in iMovie, allowing you a new instance of the trailer that can be edited to your heart's content without affecting the original.
