Make Firefox 29.0.1 by default invoke shortcut for Adobe Flash player plug-in with CPU affinity parameters

Opening Youtube videos shoots FlashPlayerPlugin CPU utilization to over 50% verified through Windows task manager. By default FlashPlayerPlugin is running with CPU affinity of all processors(4 cores), when the CPU affinity is set to just any single core the CPU utilization of FlashPlayerPlugin reduces to below 20%.
Created a shortcut for FlashPlayerPlugin which should invoke FlashPlayerPlugin with CPU affinity, which works when verified from Command Prompt.
But Firefox by default is opening the actual FirefoxPlayerPlugin instead of the shortcut created, how to make Firefox by default invoke shortcut for FlashPlayerPlugin I have created with CPU affinity values.

Teleguy appreciate your suggestion :
1. When there is a Wwindows OS command which does the same job it doesn't make much sense to install a utility/tool.
2. Checked Easytoolz webpage seems like it was last upadated in early 2010, no recent updates
3. There are many utilities to change CPU affinity with simple to advanced options but the main intention of using CPU affinity was to reduce CPU load these utilities will consume some CPU & memory if not much.

  • Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 ~ How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control

Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux) and Firefox 3.6.3  ~  How to uninstall the Adobe  Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control
In general Adobe needs to offer Ubuntu (Linux) support.  I don't use Windows anymore and will go with whatever company provides me the Plug In's I need to function.  In this case at the current time, I can't use Adobe flash Player to view You Tube video's.  I followed the link that helps a user fix the problem:
Solve a Problem: The video won't play:
    http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=56115
I then saw that you suggested that I first needed to uninstall any older versions of the Flash Player and then install the latest version of the Flash player.  I clicked on the link find out how to uninstall it here:

They didn't offer any help with Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux).  Please offer the instructions and automatic (non-terminal) uninstaller.  Also, I want an automatic installer for Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 that is easy like like you have for Windows and like Sun's Java has for Linux.

You should go to this site to see what versions of Flash Player and Shockwave Player you have installed.
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
The versions you are listing (10.0 r12, 10.0 r2) appear to be Shockwave Plauer versions, not Flash Player.
If you want to uninstall Flash Player, there should be an uninstaller in the install directory.  I do not know where that is on Linux.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 works with Firefox but not with IE8???

Hi Gang: I need help, I have downloaded adobe flash player 10, enable my javascript in IE8, but when I attempt to run youtube videos, I get the error message, javascript need to be enable or you need to download a newer version of adobe flash player. I then opened Firefox instead then run the same youtube videos and everything is perfectly fine. Why can't I run youtube videos in IE8 with the adobe flash player 10? What is the fix?
    Thanks

What's (likely) happening is that the HTML wrapper around the .swf isn't behaving... which causes Flash Player version detection to fail. Hit this test page at youtube - you should see an embedded movie with Flash Player version information.
    http://www.youtube.com/swf_test.html
You may find success by following the instructions in this tech-note for a complete uninstall... then re-install the latest FP.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Flash Player 11 work with Firefox 7

Firefox 7.0.1 does not recognize that Adobe Flash 11 is installed. it works with Safari, not Firefox

    Matt,
You have to run Firefox in 32-bit mode in order for it to run Adobe Flash Player 11 on Firefox 7.0.1 on Snow Leopard.
Mac: Get Info (Command+I) on Firefox icon and click box run in 32-bit mode. I think its shoddy Mozzilla support and really lame that they didn't post this.

  • Firefox does not recongnize some downloadable file (e.g., Adobe Flash Player); instead it opens a new tab with nothing in it.

Firefox cannot download the files I want to download sometimes. For example installing Flash Player. It opens a new tab with URL "http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US_i386.pkg.zip" and title "adberdr.pkg.zip (application/zip object)" on it. It happens when I have to download some dmg or compressed files.

-> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Zoom -> click "Reset" -> Page Style -> select "Basic Page Style"
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

  • When I try to update firefox to the latest version, it comes up with a corrupt file error and won't install. Same for adobe flash player.

It seems that as of yesterday 05/10/13, anything that is downloaded will not install. Tried updating to the latest version of firefox, but that give the error of corrupt files.

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is otherwise interfering with downloading files.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
    See:
    *browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • I've down loaded adobe flash player but when I try to veiw video on firefox I'm still told that I need adobe flash player. How do I get firefox to see the flash player download?

I was trying to view a video I uploaded to facebook using firefox. The system told me to down load adobe flash player. I did but still get the message that I need to down load flash player. How do I get firefox to see the down loaded adobe flash player?

by installing from within Firefox, Internet Explorer has its own version (Active-X).
Make sure you are starting in the correct place for Flash
    * http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If you want to read PDF files in you browser, you might also want
    * http://get.adobe.com/reader/
    After the download,
#bring up the download manager ("Ctrl+J") and start your installs. As soon as the install comes up,
#close Firefox with '''File > Exit''' or "Firefox" button > Exit. Give Firefox some time to close.
#If install does not proceed, '''terminate "firefox.exe"''' and '''"plugin-container.exe"''' from the "Processes" tab in the Windows Task Manager.
#* Windows 7 shortcut to the WTM is "Ctrl+Shift+Esc"
#* or on any Windows system from "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" then choose Windows Task Manager.
#*Make sure that "firefox.exe" is no longer running -- if it is still running then terminate it by selecting the use "End Process" button or from context menu, and do the same for "plugin-container.exe" if it is found there.
    #proceed with the install.
'''Warning''': this is the Adobe site and they have chosen to to provide crapware along with their own product. Only install the product you were planning to install. Do not install additional products: including -- "Free! McAfee Security Scan Plus" or "Google Chrome". Installing Google Chrome on your own and installing it because it is offered on the Adobe site are two different things.
Find updates for your installed plugins at http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/ mozilla.com/plugincheck
-- best to use Adobe's site to really see if their plug-ins are up to date.
Please fix your caps lock or read what you type, do you think anybody could read my answer if I typed in all caps.
If the above fails to correct the problem, I would try uninstalling Adobe Flash from your system entirely first, from the control panel then "Programs and Features".

  • Cannot install Flash Player plug-in on Windows Vista through Mozilla Firefox

I own a Windows Vista basic version laptop and am currently browsing with Mozilla Firefox. Everytime I try to install the missing plug-in for Adobe Flash Player (the lego image) on the Flash Player homepage it pops up as Flash Player 10.0.45.2 and I agree to the terms of use and click "Install" but then I am asked what I want to open the file with and I don't know what file it is associated with on my computer (My computer often has this problem with .exe files though) . If I close the "Open With" box the installation says failed and gives me an option to "manual install, but when I go to the Adobe Flash Player site (with all other browser windows closed of course), and click "agree and download" a small box with a loading green bar pops up titled "Installing Adobe Download Manager" and stays there for about 2 minutes but nothing ever happens when I am redirected to the "Thank You" page afterwards, no dialog box w/ run or save ever pops up. I have added "get.adobe.com" to my allowed installation add-ons and pop-ups are also allowed on this page but nothing happens. I appreciate any input for my problem...Thanks

Hi, thanks for the update of info. In that case I would download this Flash Player Installer for Internet Explorer to your
    Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe  When this window opens, SAVE it to your Desktop.
Before Running, Close all browsers, disable any applications that use Flash(check system tray-area of clock), make sure
in Internet Explorer>Internet Options that Security is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.
Now your Anti=Virus/Firewall can block the Install of the Flash Player ActiveX Control that must be installed. You may want to Disable those also. Windows Firewall is ok, no need to Disable it.
After Installing, make sure to Reboot(restart) your computer. Then go to this test site:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Then using IE, go to Tools>Manage Add ons and check All add ons for Shockwave Flash Object...ActiveX Control..Flash10e.ocx(version 10.0.45.2) and make sure it is listed and Enabled.
If you have any questions or comments prior to beginning, just post back.
    Thanks,

  • Why doesn't the Adobe Flash Player plugin show in Firefox's "Plugins" window under Mavericks 10.9.3?

    My specs are:
    Mavericks 10.9.4
    Firefox 30.0
    Flash Player Plugin 14.0.0.125
The plugin is visually verified to be properly installed in the "Internet Plug-Ins" folder in the main library, and not the user library.

    Hello all,
My doubt was correct. It was all due to the blank device list. After lot of struggle I found this solution worked for me:
    1. As soon as the plug-in tries to access webcam, it will show you "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    2. Click Deny then Close to close it
    3. Now press tab key on keyboard. It will highlight (in yellow) and show list of devices in video device dropdown control (This could be little bit tricky and you need to put little bit more efforts to see the list). You can now select your webcam as device here.
    4. Press Tab key again to go audio dropdown and select audio device.
    5. Then right click and bring up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" again.
    6. Under Microphone and Camera tabs, make sure we select same devices we selected in 3 & 4 above
    7. Come back to privacy tab and this time chose "Allow" and then close "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    8. You should now see the camera images in the plug-in
Conclusion: This is a workaround worked for me. Plug-in is quite unstable and there is definitely something here Adobe Flash Player plug-in developers need to do about.
Hope this workaround helps many other users.
    Thanks,
    Struggler

  • Why Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 not working appropriately in Firefox 13.0?

    Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bits Pt-Br
    Firefox 13.0  (Adobe Flash Player Plug-in) 11.3 r300
    IE9 (Adobe Flash Player Active-x) 11.3 r300
In time: In both browsers (Firerox and IE9) Adobe Flash Player is slower than normal and in Firerox sometimes it crash.
    My System:

I too have an 8GB RAM and quad core processor on my desktop and my laptop it is an Intel Quad i7 core, 8GB RAM. When there was any sluggishness, it was not Flash, but something else causing the heavy CPU useage because it was fighting with Flash.
On my computer, I went into FireFox Add-ons, then checked the extensions and plugins. The one problem I had was with a Real Player plugin. It allowed the recording and download of any video, with an App style button that appears above the the video itself when the cursor is placed there. For me that was disabled by FireFox because of conflicts, but even in the disabled state, it caused Flash issues. When I uninstalled the extension or plugin, Flash worked fine.
It may be the same, or another plugin or extension that is causing the issue. FireFox sites say to disable, but that proved useless to do because disabling for the RealPlayer plugin made no difference, it had to be removed completely to see the difference.
If no greyed out ones, then uninstall all the plugins and test FireFox. If all works great, reinstall one by one and each time test FireFox with Flash. You will likely find which one it is and know what to do from there.
I know it is a bit of a hassle, but from the experience I had so far, Flash was not the issue, it was from another plugin.
If it is Real Player, then disable the plugin by:
Close Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer if either is running.
Click "Start," click "All Programs," click "Real" and click "RealPlayer." (Or click the RealPlayer shortcut to open it)
Click the "RealPlayer" menu button at the top-left corner of the RealPlayer window and click "Preferences."
Click "Downloading and Recording" category near the bottom of the list of categories at the left side of the preferences window.
Uncheck the "Enable Web Downloading and Recording" checkbox by clicking it.
    Click "OK."
Re-open Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Worst comes to worst, uninstall real player completely or if there is another program that installed a problem plugin to FireFox, install that.
Let us know how this worked out.

I have the latest version of Adobe flash player,It works with IE,it will not work with Firefox. It will not download flash player, because it is already installed,How do I get to work with Firefox?Thank you for your time.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
*only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page
*page will detect only installed, '''''enabled''''' Plugins
    '''<u>Install or update Adobe Flash</u>'''<br />
#'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#To update/install the ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''', repeat the process, '''<u>but use IE to go to the above website</u>'''.

  • Trying to instal adobe flash player & firefox says theres missing plugins but when I try to install them it says no suitable plugins found so I can't install AFP

I've been having problems with my internet timing out when I try to access pages & firefox says I may have an old version of adobe flash player which is unstable so I've been trying to install a new version. Firefox then says theres missing plugins but when I click on the install missing plugins button it says no suitable plugins were found so I don't know how to get it to install AFP
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== everytime I try to install Adobe Flash Player

Try this simple fix... I just got it to work...
First visit [http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html] download and run the flash player uninstaller.
After that I simply ran the standalone flash player installer to be found here... [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe]
This fix doesn't solve the auto-update issue in Firefox, but at least your Flash will hopefully work again in Firefox until a more permanent fix is made available from Mozilla...

I've just downloaded Adobe Flash Player 13, but .flv files and .f4v files are not played by Adobe Flash Player. I've tried to make it default player but i didn't release which file .exe to browse for (by right-clicking and choosing Open with > Choose default program...).

There's a Flash Player Projector (standalone) in the Flash Professional CS6/Players folder, but it's usually outdated.
When browsing to an app to use from the Properties window, go there, but... download this one: Windows Flash Player 13 Projector  and replace the Flash Player that's in that folder.
If you're looking to test Flash files you've authored, then you'll need the Projector, but if you're just looking for a good player for FLV and F4V, then you should use VLC Media Player. http://www.videolan.org/

  • How do I solve this problem:Photo's no longer displayed (Adobe Flash player 13,0,0,214) in online photo album maker (Webprint.nl) after update to Firefox 29.0.1

After I (automatically) updated to Mozilla Firefox version 29.0.1, the online photo album crreator of Webprint.nl no longer displayes the photo's that I uploaded.
The photo's are displayed again when I use an older Firefox browser (version 28.*) from an another computer. This is my old (WIndows Vista) computer that I use when my new Windows 7 computer has problems.
It looks like the new Firefox has a problem with Adobe Flash player 13,0,0,214; which is the newest version according to Adobe.
    Please help!
Kid regards, Rob from Gouda, NL.
