Make LR filters case insensitive?

Is there any way to make LR Text filters case insensitive? I can't imagine why anyone would want a filter to be case sensitive. Thanks.

When I tried filtering on keywords the filter is case sensitive. For example, if I define a text filter for "Fall Color" the images are found but if I change the filter to "fall color" no images are found. I would like the filter to return the same images for either string? Is there a way to configure LR to do this?

I am using oracle 10g EE as my back end database and front end is in C# .NET. I want to make my oracle database to perform any comparison case insensitively. I searched on the net and found several ways to achieve that
1. using upper function in procedures - can't afford
2. function index - can't afford
3. setting the session parameters
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP=ANSI;
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT=BINARY_CI;
The 3rd looks promising and can save lot of time. I have several question
1. Is there any way I can set these parameters from .NET?
2. Is there any way I can set once and will make only my database case insensitive?

Thanks,It would make sense to issue "ALTER SESSION" statements during logon process from the .NET code instead of changing the entire database - which might affect other users. Judging by the way you have written this, I feel you are referring to a schema rather than database.
.NET surely has the capability to run "ALTER SESSION" statements.

Case-Insensitive File Name Search on Unix

Hello,
I have a program which runs on a Unix OS and it looks for some files like file.csv, and then reads these files. Basically I know the file name and I look for that file name in a particular directory.
Now, I want to make my program case-insensitive so that if the file name is file.csv or File.csv or FILE.csv, it should still locate that file and read it.
Any advice....

Use of wildcard and case insensitive searches

Used the "Create form from a table" option. Have a customized form for this table to query, insert, update, and delete rows. My question is how can I allow a user to 1) search using a wildcard (%) from this form and 2) how can I make the search case insensitive for my users.

Why not create a report to find the records and link to the form from the report.
You can then set the where clause to be whatever you wish:
where tablename.columnname like :parameter
or even:
where UPPER(tablename.columnname) like UPPER(:parameter)

Making ADF Search case insensitive without using Execute with Params??

I have a ADF search page baed on VO. I'm not Execute with Params form, instead i'm using normal ADF search page. Is it possible to make the search case insensitive?? if yes, how to do that?

Ok, i'll try to find out the SRDemo application using ADF BC.
And In Execute with params form,i'm already using UPPER on both the sides of where clause.
Say my VO query is like
select <table name>,...
from fnd_tables t,fnd_applications a

Then i created the ADF paramaters form by dragging and dropping the Execute with param from data control pallette.. when i run this page and do the search, it throws the error given in my second update...Any clue why that error is coming?

No case insensitive search in RAPID applications

Hey experts,
we have created a rapid application with non-key field "description". The rapid application is generating a search criteria "description", so far so good.
Now the issue is that only case sensitive search is possible for this field.

Hello Wladimir.
Almost all of case insensitive searches in SAP CRM are done using dedicated "search" field (we're talking about classical DBs and not HANA and its capabilities). Which represents the desired field in uppercase in the same database table. Compare BUT000-NAME_LAST and BUT000-MC_NAME1, ADR6-SMTP_ADDR and ADR6-SMTP_SRCH fields pairs for example. So your description field should be programmatically converted to upper case and stored in another field. On which you should do the search.
Otherewise you should do a complete scan of database entries and compare pairs converted to the same case.

Password Case inSensitivity

Is there a way to make user password case insensitive in OID?
If not is there a way to convert the password to lower/upper case before it stores in OID and then during authentication, convert the user entered pwd to same case before comparing ?

This might be possible using the password policies, check the OID manual section on password policy.
If it is not you can customize it using plugins. You would need a add and modify plugin to make the password lowercase before storing it, and a compare and a bind plugin to convert it when the user is loging on.

How do I make Merge operation into the target table case insensitive?

We have a target table that has a varchar 2 column called nat_key and a map that copies over data from a source table into the target table.
Based on wheteher the values in the nat_key column matches between the source and the target, an update or an insert has to be done into the target table.
Let us say target table T has the following row
nat_key
EQUIPMENT
Now, my source table has the same in a different case
nat_key
equipment
I want these rows to be merged .
In the OWB map, I have given the property of nat_key column in the target table as 'Match while updating' = 'Yes'. Is there a built in feature in OWB, using which I can make this match as case insensitive?
Basically, I want to make OWB generate my mapping code as
if UPPER(target. nat_key)=upper(source.nat_key) then update...else insert.
Note: There is a workaround with 'Alter Session set nls_sort=binary_ci and nls_comp=linguistic', but this involves calling a pre-mapping operator to set these session parameters.

Hi,
use an expression operator to get nat_key in upper case. Then use this value for the MERGE. Then nat_key will only be stored in upper case in your target table.
If you have historic data in the target table you have to update nat_key to upper case. This has to be done only once and is not necessary if you start with an empty target table.

How to make MySQL JDBC Driver case-insensitive

I'm porting a jdbc application from oracle to mysql. One of the problem is that oracle's column names are case insensitive, whereas CODE in mySql is different from code (see example posted below).
I know that I can change the source code to use always the same case. But is there a way to make the mysql jdbc driver case-insensitive ?

One of the problem is that oracle's column names are
case insensitive, whereas CODE in mySql is different from code (see example posted below).I doubt that.
SQL standards are rather specific that columns names are case insensitive unless quoted identifiers are used. And presumably you are doing that.
What you are seeing is a difference in drivers not databases.
I would guess that the only way to change the behaviour is to modify your code. If you uppercase everything it should work. Or you could use positional rather than named column extraction.

[SOLVED] Case-insensitive filesystem issue

Dear fellas,
I am trying to compile an AOSP rom using the following configuration:
- Arch Linux x64
- Latest Kernel 3.12.8-1-ARCH
- BTRFS filesystem
I got the following error:

So far, I was compiling with no issue. It just starts a couple days ago. I suspect that maybe is due to some kernel change.
Anyone already face this issue?

How do I move my large iTunes collection from a case-sensitive hard drive to a case-insensitive hard drive?

I currently keep my iTunes media on an external hard drive because it takes up too much space on my machine. I recently discovered that it was formatted as case-sensitive when I bought it, and now months later I'm having issues. When attempting to back up my files on a case-insensitive hard drive, the operation failed due to conflicting file/folder names (Artist and artist are now considered the same file name and one would have to overwrite the other). I now have a large iTunes file collection that is stuck on the case-sensitive hard drive, and I want to save a backup on a case-insensitive drive.
Is there a way to identify all cases where multiple files/folders have the same title/album/artist but different spelling so there will be no conflicts? The folder/file names would have to be crossed referenced to highlight any cases where File/fiLe/file would cause a problem.
I imagine there is a way to do this using iTunes script or Automator or a command in terminal or something rather than going through and checking/fixing all the information for thousands of songs by hand. I'm at the limits of my minimal development skills, so any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to use either "Carbon Copy Cloner" or "SuperDuper" (free for this purpose) to copy your case-sensitive volume to an empty case-insensitive one. Make at least two such copies on different drives. One is not enough to be safe.
If there are any name conflicts—that is, files in the same folder with names that differ only in case, such as "File" and "file"—then you will either get an error or one of the files won't be copied. You must ensure either that no such conflicts exist, or that the consequences are not important. How you do that is up to you. Unless you went out of your way to create conflicts, they probably don't exist.
Then erase the source volume in Disk Utility as case-insensitive. This action will remove all data from the volume.
Restore from one of your backups using the same application you used to create it, or use the "Restore" feature of Disk Utility, which will be faster. Search its built-in help for the term "duplicate" if you need instructions.
