This is probably a newbie question but this looks like the place to ask it. I couldn't find an answer in the manual or a wiki.
Is it possible to make pacman default to No?

IIf you see the plug into iTunes message on the iPad, unfortunately, your iPad has gone into recovery mode and has to be restored using iTunes on a computer, there is no other way to unlock your iPad now.
SInce you are stuck anyway right now, try a reset of the device. I don't think it is going to fix things, but in the extremely unlikely event that what you are seeing in the iPad screen is a system software fluke, a reset could fix it.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. I honesty don't hold out much hope that it will work, but it won't hurt and you are stuck anyway,
You can restore your iPad on any computer that is running iTunes, but you are going to lose everything on the device now and since you have no backup, you have to start all over again. If you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment and ask them to restore the iPad for you.

If you only have one user account, create a second one and log in on that account and see if you can launch the program. Sometimes problems occur with an individual account. You can narrow down whether or not the account is the problem by logging in on another account and seeing if things behave the same way. Go to System Preferences and click on accounts. Just create a new account and sign in under the account. See if iTunes will launch.

Did not make Nokia PC Suite default after updating...

One check your phone is offered free maps both by model and firmware
Two install new maps software .
Three delete old maps its the cities folder .
Four download the new maps via map loader . He map loader normally deletes the old maps before installing the new maps .

[SOLVED] Pacman not working after updating.

While I'm trying to resolve issue "package-query: requires pacman<3.6", I did wrong that entering "pacman-key --init" right after upgrading pacman. Now it neither upgrade nor install programs.

Pacman slowdown after update

Hey there. I wasn't totally sure where this should be posted, but I thought here might make sense. I noticed several days ago that pacman was downloading quite slowly, as in an average of 20 k/s as opposed to the usual average of about 600 k/s. After some fiddling around and then reinstalling (from 2008.06, by the way) after a stupid whim to try FreeBSD (which failed horribly), I noticed that, before the very first pacman -Syu, I was getting the 600 figures, after updating pacman I still had 600, and then after another pacman -Syu and then a reboot, that was when things started going slow again. Also, the regular connection was fine; I could still download at full speed using Transmission, or through Firefox. I was hoping somebody out there might have some idea what's wrong here and how to fix it, or at least if somebody has the same problem as I do? Thanks either way.

I actually did try that, down to using every mirror in the US, and even taking mirrors from other countries (one from Brazil, one from Germany) didn't seem to make any difference. That was the first thing I suspected it might be, but unfortunately that wasn't it... Thanks for the idea though.
Also, I just wanted to mention that I read about someone else having unrelated networking troubles, and one answer was to disable TCP windowing and IPv6. I tried both of these (out of desperation) and neither did any good.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I have been using Iphoto and Aperture a few years.Both programs has been improoved several times during last years,but after update on 4 of april 2013 something changes in surch a negative way that fustration comes too surface too often. When I am out photographing,I will have too look through my pictures.When you have f.instance 200 pictures to view and program take pauses all the time,you get fed-up and dont get the job done.I hope Apple can improove program soon,My camera is a Nikon D800...Tom

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Might be corrupted preferences.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.screensaver.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.screensaver.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac then reset your screen saver.

My google changed default language after updating safari

I recently updated the safari software on my macbook. As I live in New Zealand I use google.co.nz however after updating safari, the default country has changed to the Netherlands (I'm guessing as it's hard to tell as everything is written in another language). Any time that I go on a google related page or service such as blogger, or using the google toolbar in safari it automatically uses the Netherlands version now, which is really annoying as I have no idea what it is saying, and I really need to go back to using english. Is there any way that I can change this? I tried looking up help on the google help page but it doesn't display those pages in english either which isn't very helpful.

I setup my Mac in English and I only have the languages English and German selected in System Preferences - Language & Text - Language (I am on OS X Mountain Lion).
Within Safari 6.0 the reset dialog sligthly changed and mine looks now like:
Safari's help states that:
Remove all website data:
Removes cookies, tracking information, and other data that websites stored on your computer.
So that's why I did not select 'Remove all website data' (although I would love to).
But nevertheless all that did not help and my Google search within Safari still defaults to 'French' :-(
