Make Select for another table in HTML Client

Hi,
I need to make a Select first row from another table in html client and then, put value in one field of my screen. How can do it ?
I have table Orders with field Order ID, CustomerID, Telephone , but telephone is not in CusomerTable .
I Have a Query on table Telefonos named telefonos de cliente, and then linked in Screen this query with CustomerID .
I need to select from this table, or directly from the telefonos table, the first value.
Thanks!

Thanx, but while compiling it says:

  • How to populate a table based on a row selection from another table.

    Hi, i just started to use ADF BC and Faces. Could some one help me or point me a solution on the following scenario .
    By using a search component , a table is being displayed as a search result. If i select any row in the resulted table , i need to populate an another table at the bottom of the same page from another view. These two tables are related by primary key . May i know how to populate a table based on a row selection from another table. Thanks
    ganesh

    I understand your requirement and the tutorial doesn't talk about Association between the views so that you can create a Master-Detail or in DB parlance, a Parent-Child relationship.
    I will assume that we are dealing with two entities here: Department and Employees where a particular Department has many Employees and hence a Parent-Child relationship.
    Firstly, you need to create an Association between the two Entities - Department and Employees. You can do that by right clicking on the model's entity and then associating the two entities with the appropriate key say, DepartmentId.
    Once you have done that, you need to link the two entities in the View section with this Association that you created. Then go to AppModule and make sure that in the Available View Objects: 'EmployeesView' appears under 'DepartmentView' as "EmployeesView via <link you created>". Shuttle the 'DepartmentView' to the right, Data Model and then shuttle
    "EmployeesView via <link you created>" to the right, Data Model under 'DepartmentView'.
    This will then be reflected in your Data Controls. After that, you simply would have to drag this View into your page as a Master-Detail form...and then when you run this page, any row selected in the Master table, would display the data in the Detail table.
    Also, refer to this link: [Master-Detail|http://baigsorcl.blogspot.com/2010/03/creating-master-detail-form-in-adf.html]
    Hope this helps.

  • How to dynamically display the data from a table base on row selection of another table in ADF

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement in ADF. I need to change the data of a table  based on row selection of another Table . Both the table have a Parent Child relationship between them. They have a common attribute say department_id.
                                                                                         For this I created bind variable in view object of employees table and wrote a where clause in the sql query using that bind variable. Then I created method for selection listener of department Table in java bean.
    My method is following
        public void onrowselection(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
            RichTable richTable = (RichTable)selectionEvent.getSource();
                            CollectionModel tableModel = (CollectionModel)richTable.getValue();
                            JUCtrlHierBinding adfTableBinding = (JUCtrlHierBinding)tableModel.getWrappedData();
                            Object selectedRowData = richTable.getSelectedRowData();
                            JUCtrlHierNodeBinding nodeBinding = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)selectedRowData;
                    oracle.jbo.domain.Number newVal = (oracle.jbo.domain.Number) nodeBinding.getAttribute("DepartmentId");
                    Number pallet = newVal.bigDecimalValue();
                    System.out.println("Selected values " + pallet);
            BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
                          BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
                          DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
                  DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("EmployeesView1Iterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
                          ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
                          vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DepartmentId", pallet);//enter your value
                          vo.executeQuery();
    It is printing the selected value of department id from department table in the log. But it is not able to pass the value to employees view. It is showing the following error in the log
    "Definition DepartmentId of type Variable is not found in EmployeesView1."
    I will be very thankful if someone helps me to solve this errror or is there any other way to achieve the same requirement.
    Thanks
    Nilesh

    Note quite sure why you simply wont create a viewlink for the viewobject the tables are based on..
    The viewlink attribute will be based on the departmentId and it's a simple master detail relationship which automatically uses ppr.
    However, if both tables are on the same page; using your hack about;
    On the underlying viewobject, define a viewcriteria e.g. "listById" and set your bind variable here.
    I would bind table two to a RichTable component:
    RichTable t2;
    public void onrowselection(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
            RichTable richTable = (RichTable)selectionEvent.getSource();
                            CollectionModel tableModel = (CollectionModel)richTable.getValue();
                            JUCtrlHierBinding adfTableBinding = (JUCtrlHierBinding)tableModel.getWrappedData();
                            Object selectedRowData = richTable.getSelectedRowData();
                            JUCtrlHierNodeBinding nodeBinding = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)selectedRowData;
                    oracle.jbo.domain.Number newVal = (oracle.jbo.domain.Number) nodeBinding.getAttribute("DepartmentId");
                    Number pallet = newVal.bigDecimalValue();
                    System.out.println("Selected values " + pallet);
                   refreshTable2(pallet);
            BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
                          BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
                          DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
                  DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("EmployeesView1Iterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
                          ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
                          vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DepartmentId", pallet);//enter your value
                          vo.executeQuery();
    private void refreshTable2(Number pallet){
    RichTable x=getT2();
    CollectionModel cm=(CollectionModel)x.getValue();
    JUCtrlHierBinding jcb=(JUCtrlHierBinding)cm.getWrappedData();
    BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding(jcb.getName()+"Iterator");
    ViewObject vo =dciter.getViewObject();
    ViewCriteriaManager vcm=vo.getViewCriteriaManager();
    ViewCriteria vc=vcm.getViewCriteria("listById");
    vo.applyViewCriteria(vc);
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DepartmentId",pallet);
    vo.executeQuery();
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getT2());

  • Make select for each row - another solution?

    For example I have a function with day before selection:
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    function ABS return boolean is
    ret number(10,2);
    begin
    for sab in (select saldod from ndv_ccli, nd_clientes where

    ndv_ccli.cod_cli = cod_cli) and
    ndv_ccli.cod_cli = cod_cli order by dtdoc desc,cddb )
    loop
         ret := sab.saldod;
    end loop;
    return (ret);
    end;

    In report I use the value of this function(a) in another function(b) to sum with few values.
    Output of function(b) has a lot of rows and for each row it makes select in function(a) to find the value, but actualy it is the same. Is it possible to do this select only one time and then put in function(b) only it's value? Because it makes report too slow...

  • ODBC 10.2 client makes SELECT FOR UPDATE run slower

    Hi all,
    I'm facing a strange problem with Oracle OBDC: I got an application which needs to connect to an Oracle DB via odbc.
    Server is a 10.2.0.1; if I connect using ODBC driver installed by Oracle 8 client everything is ok but if I use ODBC driver installed by Oracle 10 client or Oracle XE client SELECT FOR UPDATE statements become really slower.
    My application always does the same statement:
    SELECT list_of_fields
    FROM table
    WHERE primary_key =
    AND ...
    FOR UPDATE;
    If I use the Oracle 8 ODBC, this select is almost immediate; but if I use Oracle 10 ODBC it tooks ~4 seconds.
    The statement is identical, so the access plan must be the same.
    The ODBC configuration is identical too; tnsnames.ora entries are the same.
    So, why the 10x clients are slower?
    thanks for every answer

    Which cursor library are you using? The ODBC Driver Manager's cursor library strips off the FOR UPDATE silently (see Appendix F of the ODBC Programmer's Reference). Depending on what version of the "Oracle 8 client" you were using, there may not have been an ODBC driver cursor library, so you may have been forced to use the driver manager's. Potentially, the slowdown is that you're now actually locking the rows now and may be running some contention issues.
    It would be worthwhile to trace the sessions and see what the difference in waits is.

  • Select for partitioned table, will this work with sign?

    Hi,
    I have partitioned table and select for it like :
    PARTITION BY RANGE  ( "INDATE"  )
      (   PARTITION "PRT_20091201" VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE(' 2009-12-02 00:00:00', 'SYYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS', 'NLS_CALENDAR=GREGORIAN')...
       SELECT COLUMN_LIST FROM TABLE1   WHERE
               ( indate >= to_date(t_indate || t_timefrom, 'mm/dd/yyyy HH24:MI:SS'))                       AND
               ( indate <= to_date(t_indate || t_timeto,   'mm/dd/yyyy HH24:MI:SS'))                        AND... so selecting all info for the given date withing specifiied time period, and I'm using >= condition on partitioned column, do you think it will work correctly getting directly to the single partition, or Oralce requires me put strictly = sign for that column, and then additioanly I can probably select time period, something like:
    SELECT COLUMN_LIST FROM TABLE1   WHERE
              ( indate = to_date(t_indate , 'mm/dd/yyyy'))                        AND
                   ( trim_to_time(indate) >= to_char(t_timefrom, ' HH24:MI:SS'))              AND
                   ( trim_to_time(indate) <= to_char( t_timeto,   ' HH24:MI:SS'))              AND... Tx all

    TrI agree with David that the first example looked okay, but you should test to make sure. You can check individual partition contents by executing a query using the PARTITION option to specifiy a specific partition to check the values there.

  • How to implement line selectability for a table control using table Wizard?

    Hello SDN Community,
    I have created a table control using the Table Wizard.  I found my exact question in this forum, but unfortunately it had not been andsered.  While I cannot paste a screen-print into this plane-text area, here are the steps I followed...
    1) SE51
    2) Create new screen 0100
    3) Click Layout button
    4) Clidk Table Control (with Wizard) and draw box on canvas.
    5) Step is "Start" - click Continue
    6) Step is "Name of Table Control" - provided name
    7) Step is "Table Name" - provided name of dictionary table (AUFK)
    8) Step is "Definition of Columns" - selected order numver and order text
    9) Step is "Table Control Attributes" - Line Selectability is in display mode - cannot set it.
    I would like to have a selectability column for my table.  Would appreciate any insight into how to do this.
    Thank you,
    Dean Atteberry.

    This is a puzzling...
    For the table control wizard, in the Table Control Attributes step, I was able to get line selectability to open up by declaring a char01 data element at the beginning of my type.
    The puzzling is in regards to the "Selection col. fld" entry field.
    If I leave it blank and try to go to the next step, I get message "Enter the name of the selection column if you are using a program table"
    So it looked like it wanted to know the name of my selection column.  So I type in "CHAR1".  and got the message "The field "CHAR1" for the selection column is already contained in the table."
    Hmmmmm.... don't understand............

  • HOw to improve insert/update/select  for nested table.

  • Select * for multiple tables in cfquery does not work anymore as it used to with CF5

    I am migrating from CF5. the following code used to work:
    SELECT *
    FROM tablea a, tableb b
    where a.id =b.id
    now I get an error when getting the value of ID (error:
    queryname.ID undefined). I suspect the * is the problem and is not
    permitted in that format with CF 7.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

    cfdump is, for the most part, a debugging tool which allows
    you to look at varialbes and their values at various points of the
    template. Rarely would you want to let real users see that sort of
    output.
    I'd be suspicious if adding cfdump, and nothing else solved
    the problem. I also wouldn't rely on it as a permanent solution.
    Using select * for a query against more than one table is still
    "sloppy" code and cold fusion tends be less forgiving of sloppy
    code with each upgrade.
    In case you were wondering, it's "sloppy" because it brings
    back more data than you need. You will never need the joining
    fields twice.

  • No 'order by' selection for cluster tables generates run-time

    Hi together,
    Basically I want to use a "select...order by" statement with table mhnd.
    Since mhnd is a cluster table you can not use "...order by".
    So, I use a select ... into table. I then sort this table and finally read it (index = 1)
    Unfortunatly this approach generates huge run-time.
    What can be done to minimize run-time?
    Thanks for any help

    Hi Gerd,
    Which cluster table you are using and what`s data you wanted? Maybe there are some FM to extract data from it.

  • Select into another table

    Hello -
    I'm running Oracle 8.1.7.4. Is there a way to run a query and automatically load the results into a newly created table? For example, my secondary table currently does not exist. I want to run a query, and at the same time, create and load the secondary table with the query results.
    Thanks.

    as select * from tabela1 nologging

  • Select from another table within a select

    Hello all,
    Here is my problem. I am working with thousands of records in each of the tables I am accessing. In the following code it takes about 1min-2min to process this select statement. I get the results I want but the query time is unacceptable. With all of my queries combined it would take over 10 days to complete this code. I would like to cut this time down as much as possible and feel this is the only way to achieve this. I have also tried temp tables to store the rows from the second select statement, no luck. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    select count(*)
         from first_table
         where id='1'
                   and contract_year='2006'
                   and site_code='00007'
                   and district='00002'
                   and std_id in (select std_id from second_table where attempt = 'Y' and scale ='Y');

    A few thoughts. First, you could try this...
