Yes. In System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > move the cursor size slider more to the right. The graphics aren't very good the larger the size but a slight increase really helps.

How do you make the "mouse down event" achnolage the area of an image

Hi
I am trying to program a simple game.
In this game I would like to insert
giff images, that when "clicked on"
by the mouse, will finallly return some kind of action.
In the book that I am reading, I have learnt how to
use the basics of the "mousedown event".
This I found out would be no use to me for what I am trying to achieve
at this moment,
because it only alows me to choose one coordinate at a time.
Is there any class that will able me to click anywhere on the "area" of the giff image instead of only one coordinate?
I hope I am clear enough..

Huurah for Apple, most of the time....But in soime matters I miss my old PC. This business of having to hover the mouse over a text is something I just cannot master. Is there a better way??

I can only guess at what you are asking.
If you want to rename a file without selecting it, there isn't a way.
You can just hit Return to get into the Rename mode, but you have to do something to select the file, first.

I am brand new to captivate and incredibly frustrated. I'm

Captivate doesn't exactly work in this manner. Basically here
is how the process works. You open an application. You open
Captivate and configure it to record the application. There are
different ways to record. You elected Demonstration. When recording
in Demonstration mode, the following happens.
Where you click or type, Captivate captures the screen. The
screen capture becomes the background image for the slide. The
mouse coordinates are tracked. In other words, where it started and
where it stopped. So each slide has a single mouse movement. On the
first slide where mouse movement was recorded, you may adjust the
start and end spots. But each slide afterwards only offers you the
ability to adjust the mouse ending spot. The starting spot is
determined by where it STOPPED on the slide before.
You may wish to investigate using Full Motion Recording
(FMR). But if you choose to go that route, you need to be aware of
some factors. Captivate was never designed to be a Full Motion
product. It's better than it used to be, but far from perfect. If
you do record in full motion, keep it very brief. Just a few
minutes worth. If you find this method of recording and playback
are what you feel are best, you will find yourself constantly
frustrated with Captivate. In that case, you should investigate a
different product that was designed with full motion in mind.
Camtasia Studio, Fraps or one of the others.

Does anyone know how to make the mouse motion just NORMAL?

Hi folks. Alright I am a new but I love my Mac. The one thing I just can't get past is the feel of the way the mouse works. It is tooooo smooth. I feel like when i go slow with the motion, it covers less ground as I move, then when I speed up my motion, it feels more in time with the motion. I realize this is pretty hard to explain but does anyone know what i am talking about? Sure it is more precise but I really hate it. Help?

I have been looking for a solution to this for quite some time, and I want to personally thank you for using a little humility to recognize that no, Macs don't behave the same way as other (not just Windows) graphical user interfaces when it comes to the mouse pointer.
I downloaded and purchased (well worth the funds for me) "USB Overdrive" and now I have a pointer that moves around the screen like I'm moving my hands around the screen. So natural this way. So thank you very much for mentioning those haxies or preference applets or whatever you want to call them.
Now my Mac is 10 times better!!!
As an old Amiga user, and then Windows user, it has been so disorienting to work around the desktop with Mac OS's non-customizable motion preferences. It often had left me asking myself just what part of the OS is "more friendly?" Sure, it's a rock solid OS, but friendly? C'mon.....Sheesh...You mean after I find a THIRD PARTY HAXIE to make it that way?
Well, now I have nothing to complain about.
By the way, my Speed setting is at 160 dpi, and the Accelertaion is set at 90%, in USB Overdrive. And this feels just right for me.
Now if only I could make my pointer WHITE instead of BLACK, (yes I guess I'm racist...) and make it about four times bigger without making it look like a lego...

Can I hide the mouse cursor/arrow/pointer

I am running Opera in Kiosk Mode, and I was wondering if the mouse could be set so that when it wasn't moved for a short period of time, the arrow would disappear. If you would go over and touch the mouse, the arrow would show up. Kind of like when you watch a movie on your computer full-screen, the arrow fades away. Thanks.

That is exactly what I do now, I bury it in the lower left hand corner. It can still be seen, and I can live with it, but I want to schedule the machines to turn on and off. When they do that, the default position where the mouse arrow appears is in the upper right hand corner, about 20 pixels in from the side edge, and 20 pixels from the top edge.

How do make the mouse wheel scroll in my Flex app/component instead of the browser?

Let's say I have a DataGrid or Tree or List component which
has hundreds of rows. When I place my mouse over the component and
scroll the mouse wheel, I notice that [most of the time] it scrolls
the component a little, then starts scrolling the browser window. I
want it to only scroll the component until it reaches the end of
the rows. Any thoughts?

"Ease of Access - Make the Mouse Easier to Use" will not turn off Auto-maximize

I have a dual monitor setup and any window that I drag over to the right hand monitor gets auto-maximized. A red border appears around that monitor when I position a window (any window) in it. The left hand monitor works normally. I can make the window smaller,
but if I try to move it from the top of the monitor or from the left side then it auto-maximizes.
This problem does not occur if I log onto my wife's user account, so it must be something in the settings for my account.
I see many people asking how to turn off the snap feature, and I have checked the "Prevent Windows from being automatically arranged..." box in the "Ease of Access" item in the control panel" - but this does not fix the problem.
My tale of woe seems a bit different than what I have seen described in various forums.
Has anyone seen this problem and solved it?

Here's the way to disable auto-maximize via the registry:
1.Run Registry Editor (RegEdit).
2.Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowArrangementActive
3.In the right-pane, double click (or right click and select Modify) on WindowArrangementActive, and set its REG_SZ value to 0 to disable ; 1 to enable.
4.Close Registry Editor.
5.Log off and log on again, or restart computer for the change to take effect.

I want to make the green download arrow to remain grey

i use sanitisminau and selectivecookiedelete to get rid of junk with 2 clicks(i remember, when i googled back then to see if i could actually merge these buttons together..at that time i was slightly disappointed, that i didnt find what i was looking for)
and now, while im happy with the new compact download arrow, in the long run its so annoying with its green color and the color doesnt go back to default after clearing download history via sanitisminau button, which means i need 2 additional clicks - 1 on the green arrow and 1 random click to close the download menu again
so in summary, here i have this browser, that is advertised as "open source" and yet people give me an impression, that some things are not changeable(another example of this was, when i asked people, how i could get rid of 1 newer part of firefox'

Mouse cursor moving mask over another image.

Hi, Is it possible to have where the Mouse cursor is on the page moving mask over another image. Imagine a black screen with a star cut out of the middle(where the cursor is) and u can see the image behind.
Any examples on how to do this?
Can it be done in html instead?

Create the mask and the background as movieclips and then assign the mask as the mask property of the bacground movieclip... as in background.mask = msk (where msk is the instance name of the mask).
Then assign a MOUSE_MOVE event listener to the mask and in the event handler for that listener have its x and y properties assigned to be the mouseX and mouseY properties

It's gimmicky and people would probably find it a nuisance.

Moving image with the mouse?

I have several Images which I paint directly on a panel. If the mouse pointer is over an image and the user holds the mouse button pressed he shall be able to move the image.
How would you solve that? I mean there is no contains() method in a Image class so that I would be able to check if the mouse location is over a image or not (and over which in particular).
Any ideas?
