Make VPN 1) reconnect to resume 2) reconnect on new connection
Currently the VPN connection get's disconnected if the phone is in idle state for a while. I assume it has to do with networking getting into idle state to preserve the battery life. However, when I resume working on iPhone the VPN connection should reconnect automatically. Right now I have to go through the menu every time to reconnect. That's a major security problem. If I don't reconnect it manually I am basically using the device without VPN. I am breaching security policy of our company and if data get's lost I will be on line for it. Back in those old Nokia days I could make the VPN encrypted connection mandatory and keep it permanently on.
Same happense in case when the connection (Wifi) get's lost and I reconnect again (same or different network). Same here, VPN would be disconnected and I have to manually reconnect. I can have the best secured connection SSL or L2DP/IPSec on the server side but what gives if the VPN on iPhone has the major bug above and poorly implemented. This has been persistant problem for many months and still not resolved.
Not sure if this helps, just an idea: in the iOS config profiles, when setting up the cisco VPN, if you use it in cert based mode, you can specify domains, which always invoke the VPN connection, even if was disconnected a while ago. I think this is a system wide settings, so if a third party app tries to connect to that domain, it starts the VPN too. We did not use or test this (only the mode which involves an RSA token and frequent reconnections ), but I am avare the possibility.

I try to set a "idle timeout" for the VPN configuration.
We use PIX515 8.0.3 and CISCO ACS 4.2 for the VPN's connection and authentication,and the user use cisco vpn client for the connection.
I have tried many methods,but all failured.
First,I configed "vpn-idel-timeout 5" on PIX.It can not worked.
so,I add Radius(CISCO VPN 3000/ASA/PIX 7.0+) attribute "[026/3076/050] Authenticated-User-Idle-Timeout" on CISCO ACS,It still not worked.
And I also add IETF RADIUS Attributes "[028] Idle-Timeout" on group setting on ACS,it always not worked.
i found in vpn client's statistics,it always has some byte sended or received, i thought it maybe IPsec keepalive message or Radius message.
This maybe the reason because the PIX or ACS think the vpn user is keep working.
Can someone tell me how to make a "idle time out"?

How to make VPN TCP session stateful?
I found if I set up interface rules for VPN, even from higer security level interface to lower security level interface, the TCP session is not stateful. I have to open relative ports on both interface. Is there anyway can make VPN connection TCP session stateful, just like using normal interfaces (like with out VPN?) ? Thanks!

Bug? Reconnect is possible without having stored the connection's password
I'm using SQLDeveloper Production release and created a connection to a database without the Save Password option checked.
After having connected, doing some work, disconnecting from the database I wanted to connect to the same database with a different account so I chose Connect..., expecting SQLD to come up with a logon screen since I did not store the connection's password. It didn't. It logged on with the credentials from my previous session....

RenéAre you sure? My testing indicates that this is only a problem in the session where you create the connection. Subsequent sessions always prompt for a username and password.
e.g
1 Create a connection to DB1 as USER1. Don't save password.
2 Disconnect.
3 Reconnect - Reconnects as USER1.
4 Quit SQLDeveloper
5 Restart SQLDeveloper
6 Reconnect - prompts for username and password. Connect as USER1
7 Disconnect
8 Reconnect - prompts for username and password. Connect as USER2
etc...
I agree it is should be treated as a bug, but it is relatively easily worked around. -
Found 0 results for When I open Firefox I get a "Well this is embarrassing" message. Makes no difference if I click on "Start a new session" or "Restore", it crashes. Hi Everyone, been struggling all day to restore my settings on my ipod, as my little brother has put a restriction password in place and made me not able to get into Safari, iTunes, Camera which I really need. I have tried everything, resetting my proxy settings, turning off the firewall, changing my network location, ran diagnostics. Everything seems fine on that, I post below my results. I also tried restoring from the device, but with the restrictions code in place I can not do so. And everytime I am dowloading the software update before the restore it comes up with 'Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later'. I have been using google for ages and am not sure what I have missed.

I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.

That's what I've got so far. I had assumed that adding a new connection would automatically display the properties window to the user (right?). However, in my tests, what actually happens is that it creates the new source with a random GUID for a name and no
other properties set up, and puts it in the connections pane, and that's it. Not real useful.
Obviously, something else is required to make the properties window appear, but I can't find what it is. There's no ShowUI() member on any of the classes I have, and I haven't been able to find out the name of the UI class that's used by the flat file source.
Does anyone know how this is done? I know it can be done, because such a button exists in the normal Flat File Source UI.Yes, you need to drive the UI creation.
