how do i make a button have a behavior to stop sound?

for your case you could have the sound attach to whatever
frame you going next.
Set it to loop 0 (zero) and SYNC to STOP. It will stop the
sound once you enter the
frame.
You could as well attach stopAllSounds action but it works
like purge and you might
not be able to play it again unless you reload the movie.
Than there is a movie clip. You can place the sound in movie
clip frame 2
and in frame 3 just like above, loop zero and sync STOP and
have alternate ON OFF sound
clip but going to frame 2 or 3 from button or frame.

Making nav buttons "STOP" ...

Hi. I have a question about a couple of things with AS3. And,
I am really excited about my energy towards wrapping up my first
Flash CS3 site.
First off, is it possible to make nav buttons stop a Flash
video from playing (without pressing stop directly from the
component). I've made numerous attempts, but I have decided to just
start from scratch. If so, how is it done?
All the AS3 I have done has most been on the top layers of
the main timelines. I get a little confused about public and
private and sprite, but I do know how to paste that content into a
.AS class file and test it.
What is a Sprite? Is it difficult to learn and use
comfortably? Can I use it with the actionscript on the top layer of
the timeline. I just made a scrolling thumbnail panel. But, now I
am thinking about turning it into a photo gallery, so I can display
larger images.

I see the flvplayback class in the help files, with all the
methods and properties listed in one spot. I even tested the
example code and got it to work.
So, for me, 1st develop the .swf file with the nav buttons
and be sure to include
" import fl.video.FLVPlayback;
trace(FLVPlayback.VERSION);"
on that page. Right?
2nd- Then, make a page called "PressToPlayVideoPage.swf" and
"ThePageWithTheFlvComponent.swf", and on this page drag the flv
component, set the parameters to a flv named "anything.flv" and
give it an instance name of "MyVideoWhichWillBeStopped".
*Basically, the page that is accessed from the nav bar will
have a button to load the page with the flv component
/"MyVideoWhichWillBeStopped". Okay?
3rd - Do what ??? To make the two "nav buttons" (which are in
a different file) stop the the video from playing, even once
unloaded or on the bottom stack, from that point on.

It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

If you are unable to restore with iTunes I would next put the device into recovery mode, and attempt the restore again:

Stop/Play All Sounds Too

Solution is simple and ok but you don't actually stop the
sound, just mute
it so it continue to play tho you just don't hear it.
You can toggle stop start using simple boolean
buttonName.onPress = function() {
(playing=!playing) ? sound1.stop() : sound1.start(0, 999);
Assuming the sound was attach using something like :
sound1 = new Sound(this);
sound1.attachSound("loopSound");
sound1.start(0, 999);

well i'd seriosly say point a hot hair drier at the speakers as water has entered the phone most commonly via the home button but avoid getting it too hot let it cool every 3 minutes after constant drying. Don't worry I have honestly dont this with my iPhone 4 GSM 16GB. For future reference avoid letting it get wet.

Earphone buttons stopped working on multiple devices

So I recently purchased an iPhone 5 and the store gave me a pair of additional earphones with the deal. All new products. Earphones that came with the phone works fine across multiple devices and so did the extra pair, until earlier today.
When I plugged in the extra pair into my macbook, the volume/pause button suddenly stopped responding. Sound works perfectly fine but the buttons don't. After this happened I tried plugging the earphones back into the iphone and the issue remains. Even tried them with my old 3GS, same problem there. Original earphones still work flawlessly.
Why can this be? The earphones are new and the buttons worked fine until I plugged them into the macbook. Is there anyway I can "reset" these earphones?

had the same problem. Apparently the last segment of the jack controls the remote so it needs to be properly inserted. I realized that I had somehow bent the jack so I just yanked it straight and it works fine. Apparently another possibility is you have lint round the base you need to scrape off. I don't think this is a technical os problem

Hi Kappy Thanks for your answer. I did a reboot on my Macbook as suggested and this operation is going on non stop for 14 hours and on the screen always appears the same message that you can see in the picture in attachment. Any ideas?

How do i get my flash button to play my sound when i click on

I did get it to work, but only when i set the script to
"_BLANK". When i clicked the button then it played the sound and
opened the url in a new window. I want it to be in the same window
and still play the whole sound.
Now i get just 1 or 2 sec then when im transfered, it stops
playing the sound.

If you are jumping to another URL using the same window you
cannot have a sound start on the press of a button and that sound
to continue on.
Reason
You are removing all trace of the sound and the swf that
contains that sound file.
Work arounds
1.Take a look at "frames". This way you are keeping the
container page and opening another page inside of that page.
2. Div's. again you are importing a page into a particular
area yet keeping the swf, with the sound playing, in the parent
frame.

Satellite A300-211 - illumination button stopped working

How are you people ?
I have an annoying problem with my Toshiba Satellite A300-211.
I had windows vista home premium 32 bits installed on it but then i removed it and started using windows 7 ultimate 64 bits and a result of that one of the touch media buttons that is used to turn the led light on and off changed its function and started turn the sound on and off.
When i installed the value added package because the function key was not working the button stopped working. It does not turn the led light on or off or turn the sound on or off any more.
It is blinking but not working .
Can any one help ?

You can try to install the VAP using the Advanced Option.
During the installation in Advanced Option, you can unchecked the Toshiba Multimedia Button support and could try to install the VAP without this further option.
I read somewhere in this forum that this could help
However, usually the common VAP installation should fix this if it does not fix then I assume that the registry is corrupt as already mentioned by Tonny
So what to say using CCleaner might help, if not. Try to use Toshiba recovery

HP Pavilion dv7 2230ev , quick launch touch buttons stopped working

Hi, i own a HP Pavilion dv7 2230ev for th past month and one day the quick launch touch buttons stopped working(sound volume,wifi,music player). i used them for a month with no problem and suddently -no fall or software change- they stopped working, i even did the HP recovery to factory settings from the backup partition and still no change.99% its a hardware fail but i want to avoid giving it to hp service center,i was told they had a 20day wait,just to look at it...any ideas?

On the left side of the phone above the volume + and - buttons there should be a toggle switch (silence switch) if you see orange/red that means your iPhone is in vibrate mode and will be quiet.
Switch the toggle so it shows no orange/red and that should correct the issue.
If you still get no sound after that you may want to check your bluetooth to make sure its not connected to another device (sound is being sent there) ...
If that doesn't work, stick some headphones into the headphone jack and see if you can hear the sounds from the headphones... the device may also think there is headphones plug'd in which can also be the issue
If the issue persists past that explore the option of restoring the device from the last time it did make sound and if that doesn't work you may need to contact Apple for other options

Last night I plugged my Q10 in and suddenly it starts wailing like a siren.... I look at the phone and see the message 'Charger unplugged/. Tap ok to stop this annoying sound'... Thing is, the charger was NOT unplugged and I have NO IDEA what is making this noise...
SAME thing happened again just now when I plugged it into my work computer...
Is this a virus?? is that even possible? I haven't downloaded any new apps or anything..

That alert is alarming. I had it go off for a severe weather alert and the office started to clear out as it was same sound for the building alert to exit. Didn't know about it and took me a few seconds to tap it out and corral the office mates who were abandoning ship. I thought that alert for the charger was an app designed to alert you if someone tries to pinch your phone while it is on charger and then taken off without your knowledge. Sounds like your phone is malfunctioning for this alert. Dunno the fix other than tapping, maybe someone else will chime in.

It's just the Google homepage tribute to Pacman turning 30 today. A playable game starts up automatically, use the arrow keys to move Pacman. It's fun!
You can get Ms Pacman to appear in that game by clicking the "insert coin" button twice and using the WASD keys to move :)
You can also just change your homepage to something other than google until tomorrow.

After plug to the charger i'phone 5 home button stop working

I have purchased Iphone 5. After the battery went off I try to charge and synchronize with ITune. Problem occurred. The Home button stopped working after first attempt to charge. OS has been replaced and Iphon returned to factory setting. I does no help. Self diagnostic online helped, however when I try plug again to the charger the same story. Home button off?
