Making a LINUX Standalone Flash!

Hi All,
I can create executables for Windows and Mac. How do I create
a standalone projector for Linux? Is it that I need an emulator? Or
is there some way I can run an .exe or .app in Linux?
Thanks in advance. Im in deep probs with Linux executables.

When you say it is a diagonal road you mean like this:
/|
where the vanishing point is in one corner of the screen?
Or do you want a road that curves as the movie loops?
Rather than use ActionScript you would best refer to drawing techniques in Flash and making the start frame and endframe of the loop coincide with each other.
To make the dashed lines you would simply motion-tween or classic-tween some narrow trapezoid shapes that are Movie Clips and go from there.  The border shapes would get curved based on the way you drew them on your stage and you could tween the dashed lines in accord with those curved lines.

  • Why do I get Flicker on screen with Linux Standalone Flash Player ?

    Hello,
    I have a problem with the standalone Linux Flash player. The thing is that when I have a video playing in background and over it I make some tweens, it flickers all the time and it is an annoying flicker. It happens only on Linux Flash Player (it works on Windows Flash Player). The flicker appears when I have a video on background, only when the tween is made and on the portion of the screen where the tween is made. I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed and the latest version of standalone Flash Player (from 2/24/09). I've tried this on several LCD and on all it does the same. My video card has the Intel G31 Express Chipset (the drivers for the video card are the one from Ubuntu). I have generated the swf file from Flash CS3. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • 10.1 linux standalone player

    I was wondering if a standalone version of Flash Player 10.1 for linux will be released?
    I know the Emmy Huang acknowledged (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/525703) standalone 10.1 will be made available with the tools, but the Flash IDE is not made for linux.
    If indeed it will be released will it be available at the same time as the standalone versions for Windows and Mac OSX?

    Linux standalone Flash Player 10.1 was released on 06/10/2010 and can be  found at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html.

  • Old standalone flash player linux

    I have some games that don't work with versions of flash
    above v7
    I know they work with v6
    I'm trying to find the standalone flash player 6
    (I think it was named GFlashPlayer)
    so far all I've been able to find is the mozilla plugin
    I've just spent 4 hours of my day off trying to find it, but
    no luck.
    anyone have ideas of where to find it?

    here's the release notes, but i still can't find the file

  • Licensing Standalone Flash Player.

    I've searched the forum to see if this question is already
    addressed. I found one or two that are close, but do not directly
    apply to my question. I've read the standard distribution license
    agreement for the Standalone Flash Player, but I can't interpret
    "legalese" and I just want to be sure.
    I want to distribute the standalone Flash Player on CD to
    prospective clients to play a .swf presentation highlighting the
    benefits of using my services as a real estate agent. Before you
    suggest that I simply package the presentation as a Projector file,
    I can't do that. The presentation will reside on the Internet. The
    standalone Flash Player on the CD will play the presentation from
    the Internet. That's why I can't distribute it as a Projector file.
    Additionally, running the presentation in a browser window
    using the Flash plug-in is not a workable solution either. So
    before making an alternative solution, I've already been down those
    roads. My question is very specific. The FAQ seems to say that the
    standard distribution license agreement allows me to distribute the
    standalone Flash Player on CD to anyone. Is that, in fact, the
    case? Can I copy the standalone Flash Player to CDs to distribute
    to anyone? And if so, does the standard distribution license
    agreement cover it? Thanks to all.
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
    If your SWF file is on the Internet/Web Server then call the
    SWF file from a
    Projector file.
    i.e
    loadMovie("
    http://www.flashjester.com/download/examples/test.swf",1);
    That way you don't need to worry about the licensing.

  • Too small window size in standalone flash player in FLEX

    Hello,
    I have unchecked the option "generate html wrapper file" so I
    don't have to bother about closing the browser tab each time I make
    a small change to the code and rerun the application.
    This works fine as the standalone flash player closes when I
    terminate the application from Flex. However, the standalone flash
    player always starts in a fixed window size smaller than my
    application size so that I cannot see the whole application. So I
    have to enlarge the window size of the standalone flash player each
    time which is annoying!
    Is there a better solution?
    Maybe get Flex to close the browser tab after I terminate the
    application. I still prefer to use the standalone flash player
    during development as my application doesn't depend on the browser
    though.

  • Downloading .swf files-standalone Flash player

    I have the most recent Adobe Reader X, and I have no problem playing .swf files on a browser.  However, I am trying to download a .swf file onto my computer and play it with Adobe Reader X.
    The people on the site that has the .swf file say that I need a standalone Flash player.  What I need is a link to this standalone Flash player so I can open the .swf file without the use of my browser.
    A little more info: When I try to open the .swf file, it says:
    "Adobe Reader could not open 'FileName.swf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
    I have tried to do this on Chrome and Firefox using Windows 7 and tried it on a Mac with Safari and Camino; I get the same result each time.
    Many thanks for any info, and especially the standalone Flash player, that you can give me.   If I should move this thread to the Flash Player section, just let me know.

    The standalone Flash Player (Projector) can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you'll need to make the file association manually.

  • Standalone Flash will not open sites

    Hello, I hope someone can help with the installation of standalone flash.
    My browser is Chrome (latest update), and due to problems with CPU at 100% causing game lag and freezing, I decided to try the standalone version.
    However, when I paste an address into the standalone, it does not connect - it does nothing at all. I tried disabling the flash in Chrome but this did nothing. I can resize the standalone window and change the quality setting, but nothing else.
    I deleted the standalone, then downloaded a fresh one but this is exactly the same. Is it possible that it needs Java to run ? I do not have Java on this computer.
    I would be grateful for any suggestions,
    Thanks.

    Can you give me the address for this game?  Based on your other post in the Flash Player forum, it sounds like this is Flash related on not AIR.

  • Preventing standalone Flash projector apps from trying to open Flash assets?

    Is there a way I can exclude apps from the "Open With…" menu?

  • Standalone flash player for linux full screen?

    hi all,
    just wondering (as I couldn't find any option in readme file,
    help, etc).
    If it is possible to launch flashplayer (the standalone linux
    version) from command line straight to full screen,
    so the presentation plays straight away. Any info would be

  • Standalone Flash Player?

    I can't seem to find the link to the standalone (read: not in
    browser) Flash Player anywhere on the site. Someone said to get the
    Flash 9 preview, but they only have that for linux now. I need the
    one for Intel Macs.
    Thanks!

    got to mozilla.com and get firefox. next time you come across
    something that requires flash it will take care of it for
    you.

  • Making a road in Flash

    Hi,
    I want to make a road in flash. You got a road with white stripes on it but it aint moving. I want the stripes to come at you to make it like you are driving the road.... Its not a straigt road but diagonal and dissapearing at the eind of the horizon... Does someone know how I can make this like it is real? It has to loop over and over again...
    Tnx

    When you say it is a diagonal road you mean like this:
    /|

  • Making a Quiz in Flash. Need help with input time

    Hi Flash Community,
    I'm making currently a quiz using Flash Pro CS5. What I want to implent is a time bar which will load once the bar is loaded it will go to the next frame.
    So what I need is first a timer which will start immediately when the user sees the question and I need a time bar which will indicate how far the timing is. So let's say you have 30 seconds to answer the quiz. When the timer is at 15 seconds the bar will be at half.
    Something like this http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://theportablegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/ question.jpg&imgrefurl=http://theportablegamer.com/tag/quizquizquiz/&usg=__xsykgRnehmB9P97 gg3W9tAx2Dfg=&h=320&w=480&sz=57&hl=nl&start=0&sig2=tdKlW2Iv6zHo3THsHwdVpQ&zoom=1&tbnid=ToM bL22o-D7BOM:&tbnh=107&tbnw=160&ei=aiz7TcGONI2gOpic0b4E&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dquiz%2Binterface %26um%3D1%26hl%3Dnl%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1902%26bih%3D909%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur =317&page=1&ndsp=68&ved=1t:429,r:13,s:0&tx=100&ty=47
    Could anyone help me with this? How do I need to do this?
    Thanks!

    Create a movieclip with tween about 30 frames and actions stop() in the first frame
    AS3 code:
    import flash.utils.Timer;
    var timer:Timer=new Timer(1000);
    timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER,fn);
    timer.start();
    function fn(e:TimerEvent):void{
        trace(mc.currentFrame);
        if (mc.currentFrame==30){
            timer.removeEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER,fn);
        mc.gotoAndStop(mc.currentFrame+1);
    AS2 code:
    var n=setInterval(mcfn,1000);
    function mcfn(){
        trace(mc._currentframe);
        if (mc._currentframe==30){
            clearInterval();
        mc.gotoAndStop(mc._currentframe+1);

  • LINUX Adobe Flash Player and MINI-DV CAM

    Hello,
    I Have Mini-DV camcoder Sony DCR-TRV130 connected with my PC

    I have installed Linux Ubuntu Feisty Fawn on my Desktop PC.
    Also i use FireFox version 2.0.0.3.
    I have installed adobe flash player (plugin for FireFox)
    version 9,0,31,0
    My Mini-DV Sony Cam works with some software like Kino and
    others but Adobe flash player don't want to recognise my CAMERA.
    Example here:

    On Windows i use same version of FireFox and adobe plugin
    version 9,0,28,0
    ANY COMMENT ARE WELCOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    PLEASE HELP OR ANY HINT!!
    THANKS!!

    A little late for the original questioner, but here's the
    explanation.
    In Linux Webcams and TV-capture cards use the Video 4 Linux
    API (application programming interface) to detect, configure, and
    use those devices. They appear as devices named /dev/video? - where
    ? is some number. USB webcams use the USB Video Class (UVC) driver,
    or a device-specific driver that handles the USB device and makes
    it available as a V4L device.
    DV camcorders using IEEE-1394 aka Firewire aka i.Link use the
    /dev/video1394 or /dev/raw1394 device interfaces which handle all
    sorts of Firewire devices, not just cameras. So far no one has
    created a generic IEEE1394 <> Video 4 Linux bridge like the
    UVC driver and therefore DV cameras aren't available to
    applications that only look for Video 4 Linux devices. There is a
    hint of this support being at least planned.
    For more information on Linux IEEE-1394 support see:
