Making a static FTP send port behave like dynamic

Hi,
we are on BizTalk 2013.
we have a static send port FTP. an server ip and a folder is set for this static FTP port. however we want to change the target folder dynamically. so we have a custom send pipeline that promotes the below properties:
            pInMsg.Context.Promote(
"IsDynamicSend",
"http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/system-properties",
true);
            pInMsg.Context.Promote(
"OutboundTransportType",
"http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/system-properties",
"FTP");
            pInMsg.Context.Promote(
"OutboundTransportLocation",
"http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/system-properties",
FTPPath+ReceivedFileName);
what is wrong with this approach? Because it always takes the static configuration and not the dynamic as set above.
Please help.
Thanks

Best option would be to suspend a normal message and check it's promoted properties having URI, later in pipeline component just modify/ overwrite those properties.
You don't need to touch "OutboundTransportType" property as it will be already set to FTP.
Also "IsDynamicSend" doesn't needs to be set to True, because at adapter level it doesn't matter whether the port was dynamic or not, it only cares about the promoted context properties.
Thanks,
Prashant

  • Proxy settings for dynamic ftp send port

    Does anyone have an idea how to configure the proxy settings when using a dynamic send port to connect to an ftp server?
    When using the FTP send port there is the property 'Server' to specify the proxy settings, but how would this be done with a dynamic send port?
    I can't find anything about this. And there doesn't seem to be a property
    FTP.Server according to intellisence in my orchestration.

    It seems like most or all of the FTP properties are exposed in the Global Property Schemas assembly.  The FTP properties are under the "FTP" namespace (see FTP property schema below).
    One thing you might try is to get it working (simple messaging) using a static FTP send port.  Once it is working, turn on send port tracking of message properties (before and after port processing).  Inspect the tracked message for the FTP
    related properties set during static transmission and try setting these within your orchestration.

  • Save a copy of file sent through FTP Send Port

    How can we save a copy of the file sent through an FTP Send Port?
    Here are the details of the scenario:
    1. I have an Orchestration which after processing, creates a Flat File
    2. Orchestration has a Static One Way Send Port with specify later
    3. FTP Send Port is bind to the orchestration
    Problem is, I don't want to create an extra file send port in the orchestration.
    Requirement is:
    When orchestration send the flat file to FTP, I want a copy of the file in a local file location.
    BizTalk Specialist

    Create a Send Port Group with the two ports in question and bind your orchestration to the Group.
    Alternatively you can leverage the BizTalk Archiving Pipeline component from codeplex at
    http://biztalkarchiving.codeplex.com/ and use this pipeline on your existing send port.

  • WCF static send port, use of custom behavior to change the endpoint location?

    The send port is outbound to various web service endpoints, all of which is the same WSDL just different location. Prefer to use the static port for features like ordered delivery. Is it possible to change the Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Address dynamically
    by a custom behavior?
    https://ninithepug.wordpress.com/

    Hi,
    You can make static send ports partially dynamic, this can be achieved in a custom pipeline component in the send pipeline.
    You should refer to the below mentioned articles:

  • Notify a user after the message is been delivered to the FTP location by the send port

    I have a scenario where I need to send an alert to the user after the file is been delivered to the FTP location.
    If for any reason if the send port fails and the file is not delivered then the alert should not be sent. If the first attempt fails there will be a retry and the alert should not be sent on every retry. Only after successful delivery of message.
    I have a limitation, Just need to implement using the send ports, No Orchestration or no custom artifacts.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks Mallesh Bonla BizTalk Architect

    Hi Mallesh,
    If you don't want to use any custom artifacts like custom pipeline, then you can consider this option.
    Create FTP Receive port/Location (Yes Its Receive) and let it poll for any new files to the FTP location where your send port with FTP has configured for.
    In the FTP adapter property (of the above Receive location) set  "Delete After Download" -No, "Enable
    Timestamp Comparison"-Yes.
    Create a send port with file for the above Receive port name. Configure this send port to send email/alert.
    This configuration would send an email immediately when the FTP folder receives a file. i.e. As per your requirement, whenever file has been delivered
    to the FTP folder/server, the above new receive location would trigger for the newly received file. Since you have enabled "Delete After Download" -No, file would not be deleted from the FTP folder and since you have "Enable Timestamp Comparison"
    to Yes, adapter would not retrigger another transfer. In this case the new Receive location would only act as receiving trigger message whenever FTP folder receive a file.
    This is the only way you can achieve your requirement without any custom artifacts just with the standard out-of-box components.
    Otherwise use
    la Cour option of promoting AckRequired to the context to enable delivery notification in messaging only way. If you use Orchestration, you know you can do this
    with Delivery notification feature.

  • Use of Self Correlating direct bind in Orchestration send port

    Hi All,
        I have seen examples for self correlating direct bind in receive side of orchestration which will be passed as parameter in Start orchestration shape to
    get back the response. Could you tell me some scenario's where the self correlating will be used in send port of Orchestration.
    Is there any other use of self correlation other than in start orchestration shape.
    Thanks,
    ChampBoss

    If you want your called orchestration to behave like an API call i.e.; support a Request-Response pattern while NOT using a TWO-WAY orchestration port then you would need the self-correlation. How else would you respond to the same thread that called you?

  • Delete datagridview row using right click context menu does not behave like the delete key

    I have a datagridview with editing enabled. If I click the row header and press the delete key, the row is removed no questions asked. I don't recall doing any coding to make this happen but I couldn't do copy and paste using keys so I created a context
    menu with copy, paste, & delete.  The delete option calls
    dgvVX130.Rows.RemoveAt(dgvVX130.SelectedRows[0].Index);
    The row is removed but the problem is this fires other events like RowValidating which fails.  I presume because the row is no longer there.
    The delete keypress is definitely a lot cleaner so my question is 3fold.
    1) Why doesn't Rows.RemoveAt behave like the delete key?
    2) Is it possible to issue a delete keypress to do the same thing?
    3)  Is it possible to suppress the RowValidating event or other events when Rows.RemoveAt is fired?

    Interesting.  My delete key does not fire the row validating event.  When I use the delete key I click on the row header which does fire the row validating event and then I press the delete key.  Row is deleted and no event fires.  Works
    just the way I want it to.  I wish my context menu delete worked that way.  I wouldn't know what chunk of code I can provide to show the Row Validating NOT firing when delete key is pressed but here is the context menu code that does fire Row Validating.

  • Dynamically assign a send pipeline to a dynamic send port in orchestration

    Hi
    I have an orchestration that is using a dynamic send port. I need to somehow assign the send pipeline to the dynamic send port programmatically.
    for example, I will have a decide shape in the orchestration. Based on the condition in the decide shape I need to assign the corresponding send pipeline for that condition. let's say in Branch A, I want to select xml assembler , in Branch B I will want
    to select a flat file assembler...
    how can this be achieved. I have seen some links recommending using the ESB tool kit, but I do not want to go down that route.
    any help is appreciated
    Regards, Mazin - MCTS BizTalk Server 2006

    Ashwin
    Thanks again for your reply.
    If I do it using role links I will loose the flexibility I have "having a dynamic file name" lots of our partners would like to receive their files with specific file naming convention based on the content of the file.
    If I use a decide shape / another dynamic send port, this means that everytime I have a new custom pipeline I would need to modify the orchestration and add another decide branch with another dynamic send port.
    both of the above suggestions will break the flexibility of the solution since we now can configure new partners in seconds in the configuration database without the need to modify the orchestration or add any new send ports
    Regards, Mazin - MCTS BizTalk Server 2006
    So in your requirement, the “dynamic” nature you want from send port are
     following:
    To set the send file names dynamically depends on the message received.
    To send the message to different send locations depending on the message received. You want to retrieve this destination URL location from database.
    And send ports may have different pipeline component like flat-file and XML ones.
    As I have commented in my earlier reply, Role-Link could fit your bill perfectly and this can be achieved by using following:
    1) Receive a message into an Orchestration.
    2) In Orchestration set the file name dynamically based on the received file and following code shall help you to set the name of the file to dynamic.
    msgToBeSend(FILE.ReceivedFileName)="YourDynamicFileNameUWantToAssign";
    Use the above while constructing the outgoing message.
    3) Create a “Provider” Role-Link with send port type following the wizard.
    4) In Orchestration’s expression shape may be before sending the message out,
    performs the party resolution using a code similar to the following:
    YourRoleLinkName(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.DestinationParty) = new Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Party(msgToBeSend.YourDistingushedPropertyToIdentifyParty, "OrganizationName");
    5) In the above sample code “YourDistingushedPropertyToIdentifyParty” refer for the code which could identify the partyname where the send port is configured.
    6) Create Parties representing different type of message to be send like flat-file or XML messages.
    7) Create a static send port and populate the outbound URL dynamically by using a custom pipeline component. In the custom pipeline component URL can be dynamically bound by calling the database as per your reqirement i.e based on the received message by
    accessing its content in custom pipeline access the database, find the destination URL and assign the “OutboundTransportLocation” context property of the outbound message something like this
    msgToBeSend.Context.Promote("OutboundTransportLocation", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/system-properties", YourOutboundURLFromDatabase);
    Refer this article on this topic:
    http://www.codit.eu/blog/2013/03/06/adding-dynamic-behavior-to-static-send-ports-a-caveat/
    8) In the Parties you have created assign the send ports.
    9) GoTo your “Role-Links” folder within the deployed BizTalk application and enlist the parties.
    These steps enable you to achieve the dynamic requirement you want to implement with the mentioned Role-Link.

    the item nodes
    17. var items : Array = _xml.firstChild.childNodes;
    18. // now we want to iterate over every item in the items
    array
    19. // and parse the nodes as we see fit
    20. for ( var i : Number = 0 ; i < items.length ; i ++ ) {
    21. // here we set the text of the text field ( news_txt )
    22. // the first thing we add to the textfield is the
    headline then a line break
    23. news_txt.htmlText += "<b>" + items
    .childNodes[0].firstChild +"</b><br>";
    24. // next we add the string date followed by the date value
    in the xml file
    25. news_txt.htmlText += "Date: " +
    items.childNodes[1].firstChild + "<br>";
    26. // now we add the message, then two line breaks, only for
    formatting
    27. news_txt.htmlText += " " + items
    .childNodes[2].firstChild + "<br><br>";
    28. }
    29. }
    So far is everything clear to me. But what I want to do now
    is that after a user clicks on title, next happens:
    the current swf unloads
    the flash sends data to asp (ID of an article and ID of an
    author, which movie to load next).
    How do create a title/button?I know how to make a title to
    behave like a link (just add the
    http://... in the headline tag in XML
    document. But this,..... I just don't know how to do that.
    THX for any help

    2m, you are right. I should tell you about my concept. It's
    all on the paper yet, because this is how I work - first I write
    down everything on paper, study it and the next step in trying to
    make it work on computer.
    I have a main swf, I call it system.swf. System.swf receives
    the info about the swfs, it must be loaded from html tag
    <object><param>. The ID of the movies is send from
    flash to asp and then via <object>back to flash. Does that
    make sense? Is there a better way for that?
    So, the system.swf is loaded for the whole time - let's say
    it on level1. On level 2 are then loaded other swfs.It depends
    which content the user wants to see.
    About the article part:
    first the user sees the list of last articles (title, date
    and short description). When he/she clicks on the title, all the
    action happens:
    flash sends the data which article the user wants to read to
    asp, asp searches in data base for the requested article and
    creates xml, where are title, date and the whole content of the
    article.
    At the same time asp also sends via <object>tag in html
    the id of the swf that must be loaded and the id of the author of
    the article, so the swf, where the pictures of the all authors are,
    will know what picute must load (this is the second swf that is
    loaded on the article part - it's created like a gallery; the
    author of the active article is bigger and if the user wants to
    read the last article of other author, he/she just closes the
    picture and then the images are moving in a slider way and when
    he/she clicks on an image, it get larger and the last artcle of
    this author is loaded).
    And I wonder how can I make this all to happen: when the user
    clicks on a title, all the var action happens?
    If you have better idea how to create this, please, advice.
    THX for the help so far

  • AS2 over HTTP Send port question.

    I have an application that builds and  sends flat and EDI files to FTP, FILE, SqlAdapter send ports and now they want AS2 over an HTTP port, I understand the AS2 settings (using party resolution, etc.) what I don't get is how/what exactly is receiving
    the message on the other side... They don't have a web service nor a page, I created a site to test but what do I do? Send an edi file to a url????
    Bico Bielich

    From your question I understand, you have been asked to send message through AS2. Do they also going to receive message through AS2 from their party? Is your question is about how to receive the message through AS2 which you also want to send over AS2?
    You can configure
    BTSHTTPReceive.dll to receive messages over HTTP and configure the Receive location with AS2 EDI pipeline component to receive messages over AS2 into BizTalk which can be subscribed by your send port filter or Orchestration ( if you have any process
    to be applied before sending the message over AS2 send).
    Check the Tutorial-3 part of AS2 which illustrate an example which receives an AS2 message through BTSHTTPReceive.dll.
    Tutorial 3: AS2 Tutorial
    And following references shall help you configure the BTSHTTPReceive.dll:

  • Wcf web service send port retry?

    We are contacting external wcf web services. We don't control these services and they could be returning an exception for a short while (which is "ok"), so we need to retry for a given period of time, without suspending the orchestration/sendport.
    It used to be simple with web services (.asmx) since the send port would handle the retries as soon as an exception was returned from the web services. With wcf services and the soap fault, it is much more cumbersome.
    I know how to do it from an orchestration, but it does add a lot of clutter (have an extra "initialization" construct block so visual studio shuts up about the uninitialized message coming back from the wcf service, define documentspecnames in
    our case, define xpath expressions for the fault and the expected response, have a loop, a delay, more variables/expressions, scope, exception block, etc. etc.) for such a simple requirement. We need to contact a couple of wcf services in an orchestration
    and the handling of the retries makes it quite large and unfriendly (and this is mostly the retry logic for these wcf services).
    So, is there any way to have the send port adapter handle the retries when receiving an exception from a wcf service like it used to be with regular web services?

    Thanks for you answer, yes I understand that the SOAP fault is just another message and that I need to act accordingly in the orchestration. I'm not refuting that, I'm just looking for a better solution than the one I have now (which seems overly complicated
    to me).
    I have to specify the documentspecname because we use the built-in xmlreceive pipeline and the type of the exception that the wcf services return is standardized in our organisation... so there are many copies of the schema of this exception deployed on
    the servers. I need to specify the schema of the exception coming from my wcf reference in my assembly otherwise I get the "I can't find the right schema blabla" exception.
    Of course, if I can stop using the XMLReceive pipeline, I wouldn't have to specify the documentspecname... I'll have to research in detail what this pipeline is doing and see if I can replicate it's functionality, with the addition of the check for the error
    in the returned message.
    I just want to be sure before proceeding... If I raise an exception in a custom pipeline, the send port retry configuration would apply?

  • File Name in the Send Port with PGP Encryption

    Hello,
    The File Name in the Send Port should be set with the mask like ABC.txt.pgp. Since I have used the PGP Encryption Component it is generating the File name like ABC.pgp.txt.pgp. But what I need is just the ABC.txt.pgp. How can be this be done. Any help is
    greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    What you are seeing is the expected behavior.  If you are referring to this:
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsdesktop/BizTalk-Sample-PGP-ebcbc8b2
    or one of it's derivatives, it will internally modify FILE.ReceivedFileName to append .pgp if that property is set.
    So, if you use just %SourceFileName%, you will likely get the desired result.  Otherwise, you will have to explicitly set FILE.ReceivedFileName to ABC.txt somewhere before the PGP component.
    You can also modify the source code to remove this behavior.

  • FTP sender adapter archives empty files

    Hi.
    I have a strange problem with the ftp sender adapter.
    I receive my file without problems, and the scenario works as it should.
    The problem is with the archiving of my processed file.
    It writes the file fine to the path specified, but it is empty (user has full file permissions)
    The ftp adapter uses content conversion, and I have seen threads in the forum that tells about simular errors. But I have found no solution.
    Hope someone can help here.
    Regards...
    Peter

    File Content Conversion is usually associated with Receiver File/FTP adapters
    and Archiving the source file is an option at the Sender File/FTP Adapter.
    No, content conversion is used both in sender and receiver file/FTP adapters.
    In my case, it is in a sender adapter!
    I'm not sure what you mean when you said "The ftp adapter uses content conversion,..."
    The sender FTP adapter content converts a flat file to XML format!
    Can you let us know the details of your scenario?
    Like who / what is the sender and who/what is the receiver system?
    The scenario looks like this: "FTP -> XI -> RFC", but as mentioned before, the scenario works fine, the problem is in the FTP sender adapter that fails to save the archive file.
    If I try to use the file/FTP sender adapter in "file mode", with the same parameters, the archive file is written just fine!
    Regards...
    Peter

    Hi Yaeli1,
    From the error message above,  please check the permission for file writing , it seems that this issue is related to access permission.
