Making jpg or png images in Java...

Hello everyone,
Can anyone please post a simple class that simply does the following:
//Create some sort of image
Graphics g = image.getGraphics();
g.fillRect(...);
//Export the image to a jpg file: e.g. a.jpg/a.png
Thank you

  • Export PDF, JPG or PNG images from the mapviewer

    hi,
    I need to export PDF, JPG or PNG images from the mapviewer (Oracle Map client).
    How Can I do it?
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks.

    What I do with xml after calling getMapAsXML function
    Any example?There is a request page in the mapviever configuration webpages, there you can send it to the server and get the image in return.
    or you can write your own programm to send it to the mapviewer servlet using post and progress the response by yourself. Have a look at the mapviewer documentation pdf, there are some examples on the different possible different xml requests.

  • How to convert JPEG - PNG images using java?

    Hi,
    Has anyone done this before?
    Can you provide me with a sample code or point me to the direction on how this can be done?
    Are there any existing Java technology that supports this?
    Most grateful. Thanks.

    It's should be easy using Java Advanced Imaging (JAI). Try this.
    import javax.media.jai.JAI;
    import javax.media.jai.RenderedOp;
    public class convert {
      static public void main(String[] args) {
        String inName = args[0];
        String outName = args[1];
        RenderedOp source = JAI.create("fileload", inName);
        JAI.create("filestore", source, outName, "PNG", null);
        System.exit(0);
    }

  • Can I set a static frame (jpg or png) image as a poster image when embedding flash video into a dreamweaver page?

    hello everybody - my subject line pretty much says it all...
    i'm looking to have my users see a single static frame (a
    poster image) that they can then click on to start playing a video.
    how do i set this in either flash or dreamweaver?
    anybody have any info?
    much appreciated!

    Will the video appear in place of the image clicked on? Or
    will it be in a
    separate window?

  • How to convert postscript file to jpg or png

    Hi,
    I have to convert the postscript file into jpg or png image and need to display it in GUI.
    Can anyone suggest me how to do it or is there any third party jar available in java so that i can make use of it.
    Thanks & Regards

    i'm not sure what you're trying to do but:
    1.  if you have flash pro, you can open the fla and publish bitmaps of any display object
    2. rename the fla extension to zip and unzip it to utilize its bitmaps.

  • How to convert pdf , psd files to jpg or png

    Hi All,
    how to  convert PDF, Ai, EPS, CDR, PSD,BMP, GIF, TIF, TIFF to jpg or png image format

    Acrobat or any otehr tool does not have any automatic translation. You will have to convert your PDF to an editable formatz like a Word document and translate and clean it up there, then export it back as a PDF.

  • How to output 3D Surface Graph as image file (bmp or jpg or png)

    I'd like to output a graph from the 3D surface.vi module as a regular
    image (like a JPG or BMP).  At this time, I'm going through an
    awkward process of taking a screen cap, then isolating the image with
    photoshop (painful and time consuming).
    Any idea or input would be appreciated.

    RIght-click on the graph and "create...invoke node". On the diagram, select method "get image".
    Save the output of "image data" as JPG, BMP, or PNG using the tools from the "Graphics Formats" palette.
    (The code shows would get a 24bit PNG image)
    See how far you get. Good luck!

  • Using imageio to convert .gif to .jpg gives bad image

    Hi,
    I'm looking at the 1.4 javax.imageio API, and wrote a naive
    program to convert images from one format to another.
    It will read .gif, .jpg or .png and correctly write .gif and .png
    images, but when I try to write a .jpg from a .gif or .png
    the result is very black-looking - actually most of the colour
    is there but changed to a very dark level and red switched to blue
    for example. Presumably there is a reason that this doesn't work,
    or is it a bug? I would've though an exception would be thrown
    if the image types selected were incompatible.
    Also, how does one specify the JPEG quality setting?
    Thanks for any clues,
    Ed

    File f2 = new File(argv[1]);

    extn = extn.substring(extn.lastIndexOf('.')+1);
    ImageIO.write(bi, extn, f2);

    Interesting, the program works correctly on Windows 2000

  • Files with .png images create huge .pdf's

    I use .png images in PowerPoint presentations and these seem to create huge .pdf files. (...don't have this problem using .jpg images) For example, I have a 48 slide presentation that has a small .png image in the "slide master" so it will show up on every page. The PowerPoint file is 2.3MB, however the .pdf of it is 33.3MB, making it WAY too big to email, which was my objective.
    Any ideas on how to reduce the size of .pdf's which contain .png images?
    ...note that I "compressed" the .png images inside of PowerPoint prior to creating the .pdf, but this made no impact.
    Thanks,
    pm

    >I have a 48 slide presentation that has a small .png image in the "slide
    >master" so it will show up on every page.
    PowerPoint only has to store one instance of the image even thought it is
    displayed on multiple slides. But Acrobat can't do the same, the image has
    to be stored for every page that it appears on, so that would explain the
    larger file size.
    Acrobat is supposed to be able to optimize the storage of common background
    images (at least that's the message I see when I do a "Save as..."), but I
    have yet to see it to work. Maybe it depends on the application the orginal
    file is created in and the PDF conversion method used.
    Adding the image into a PDF file later as a watermark instead may be a way
    to keep the size down (then it really only does store the object once),
    though I believe that watermark images will appear in front of everything
    else on the page (not sure if that's a problem for you, it depends on
    whether any text or objects in the presentation ever appear in front of the
    image).
    What are the dimensions and resolution of the image in PowerPoint? You may
    be able to go as low as 75 dpi and not notice a difference, it depends on
    whether the image contains any areas of high contrast or text.

  • Displaying the .png image stored in an byte array

    Hi,
    I have to download an .png image from a server and i have to store it in a byte array and i have to display this byte array in another servlet. I have written the code to get the image from the remote server in a java class. The java class returns the byte array of the image and i have to display that in an servlet.
    If anybody has the code or any refrence to refer please help me..
    Thanks & Regards

    I have pasted code for servlet's doGet method which writes image data...
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws
    ServletException, IOException
    HttpSession session = request.getSession(); //taking httpsession
    response.setContentType("image/jpeg");
    ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream(); //taking outputstream of response
    if (rtn.getErrorCode() == 0)
    //this will actually write image file data from where it is being called
    //byte array will contain image data, please load your image into below byte array variable
    byte[] b = new byte[100];
    out.write(b);
    out = null; //making null
    session = null; //making null
    In other servlet, write <img> tag and specify its src attribute to the "name of servlet where u have pasted above code" ..

  • Converting a pdf to jpg or png

    Hi all
    I need to convert pdf file page into an image of either jpg or png format.
    Thought pdf-tools.com is offering some java API to do that (which i have tried with trial version, working fine).
    is there any free API either from ADOBE itself or some other open source projects?
    please do let let me know
    Take care

    Hi,
    I've already used iText to produce nice PDF's via a WEb Application using Java Servlets.
    You can import images (jpg, png) into the Pdf you are creating.
    But I'm doubt that you can convert the PDF files created to image files ?
    I would be interested about the functions to use within iText in order to achieve that.
    Thanks

  • Use SVGAnimator to display a SVG with xlink PNG image

    I tried the M2GDemo and it works without this image part
    SVGAnimator animator =
    SVGAnimator.createAnimator( image );
    // add our custom event listener
    animator.setSVGEventListener(
    new CustomEventListener( image, animator ) );
    // get the Canvas for this player: requires a cast
    Canvas canvas = (Canvas) animator.getTargetComponent();
    I modify the requestResource a bit to get Image from root1.
    public void requestResource(ScalableImage inImage, String inURI)
         int pos = inURI.indexOf(":");
         if (pos >0){
              inURI = inURI.substring(pos);
         inURI = "file:///root1/"+inURI;
    try
    Connector.openInputStream(inURI);
    catch ( IOException ioe )
    ioe.printStackTrace();
    <image x='90.0' y='69.46001' width='222.7' height='152.25' xlink:href='myImage.png'/>
    Now I stuck with the error below.

    Bascially all I need is a viewer to display SVG with xlink to PNG image without the use or tinyline. If I want to get the PNG image from http, what should I do?
    Any response will be greatly appreciated.

    OK, I think I get the idea. Will check the stuff. Thanks.

    Just bad copy paste. Yes.

    I just saw coding in the button.

    OK, that was right on spot. This shows me the Icon! Strike!

    I'll check the documentation on BEE and give it a try.
    Thanks for your answer.
    Thats a starting point for me.

  • How do I batch convert .ai to .jpg or .png in Bridge CC 2014?

    I have found where you could "Export" them out in older versions of Bridge but no "Export" function exist in CC 2014.

    You could do it like this: http://www.santoshgs.com/blog/189/how-to-batch-convert-png-to-jpeg-using-photoshop-cs2/
    But can I be honest? I'd do that with a more efficient and far faster conversion utility like IrfanView. Photoshop is incredibly slow for this type of work. For example, I did a quick test to demonstrate the difference in performance:
    folder with 10 images in jpg format, 5600px by 5600px. Simple jpg to png batch.
    Photoshop: over six minutes.
    IrfanView: one minute and 40 seconds.
    That's a rather big difference - and with large numbers of images I just do not have the time to wait for Photoshop to finish the job. It's too slow.
    Another issue is that during the conversion process Photoshop cannot be used - while with a simple conversion utility you can leave it running in the background, and continue to use PS for other work if required. This matters if you have hundreds of images to convert.
    Btw, Irfanview (windows only) is free to download @ http://www.irfanview.com/
    The batch processing you can find under File-->Batch Conversion <b>
    ImageMagick is also free and open source. It is a command line tool, and easy to use for conversions.Will also work on a mac. But it is much slower than IrfanView, a tad faster than PS.
