Making sure text is in the same spot on each layer?

I want to create a button out of a shape layer, place text on it and use it as a template by duplicating the layer, and on the other layers for the other buttons, make sure that the text is always in the same spot. When I copy the text layer and type over it, the location moves based on the number of characters I type. What is the best way to do this?

Hello, I'm hoping someone could give me a hand!
On this home page: www.largemouthfrog.net I am running a WebApp called 'Testimonials' which produces a string of words/phrases based on checkbox selected items. They come into the page as: <li>...<div class="testimonial-comments1">brilliant! ,excellent! ,really good </div>...</li>
For each <li> there is a distinct set of words/phrases separated by a comma.
I want to remove the comma and replace with <br>
I have the following JQuery (see below) which replaces the comma with <br> BUT it takes the first <li> instance of
<div class="testimonial-comments1"> and repeats it again and again for all the other <li>'s. In other words:
"brilliant! ,excellent! ,really good" is duplicated repeatedly.
I've tried putting the JQuery inside the List layout of the WebApp but this does the same thing.

Your code is a bit too simplistic and it fails because it doesn't really
loop over all of the web app items and instead it grabs the content of the
first one and sets the rest of them with that content. I have created some
code which will get you started. Here it is:

My class is simply called "tags" and my list layout looks like this:
<h3 class="name">{tag_name}</h3>
<div class="tags">{tag_tags}</div>
Basically, that code will create an array of strings for each iteration.
All you have to do now is iterate over the array and add "
" to each
item, join the items into a string and then set $(this).text() to that new
value.
That said, I'd recommend you to construct a UL form those options in this
case. It's a bit more semantic I think.

Making new text appear in the same space as old

I thought there must be a simple way of doing this, but I can't find how in Help, or in this Forum.
I want text on a slide to disappear and new text to appear, in exactly the same place.
Ah ha, I thought, this is just the thing for Smart Build - but this seems to be restricted to graphics, not text.
I hope this description is clear enough, and sorry if the problem and solution are well known, and I've just somehow missed it.

First, create the text you want to disappear. Then select it and assign it a Build-Out effect (I suggest a Dissolve of about 2 seconds, but the choice is yours). This can be triggered either by a Click or automatically at your option.
Next create the new text and place it directly on top of the first text. Assign it a Build-In effect (with the same type and duration as the Build-Out you have created).
In the "More Options" Builds List, assign the Build-In (new text) to occur Automatically With the Build-Out (old text).

How can I plott data from a text file in the same way as a media player using the pointer slide to go back and fort in my file?

I would like to plott data from a text file in the same way as a media player does from a video file. I’m not sure how to create the pointer slide function. The vi could look something like the attached jpg.

i am not realy sure what you want!?!?
i think you want to display only a part of the values you read from XYZ
so what you can do:
write all the values in an array.
the size of the array is the max. value of the slide bar
now you can select a part of the array (e.g. values from 100 to 200) and display this with a graph
the other option is to use the history function of the graphes

How to place two text fields on the same line in adobe

I am trying to create a form on adobe and I would like to have two unique text fields on the same line. Is this posible?

If you are using FormsCentral it is, the fields can be placed "side by side" in a row. There is a "+" sign on the right side of the field that brings up a toolbar to add a field adjacent. You can also right click on a field and select "Insert beside", or you can "drag and drop" fields next to one another or to a new row.

PS - One note, if you are using the "desktop" application of FormsCentral that comes with Acroat Pro XI make sure the application is up to date by either using the "Help" - "Check for updates" menu item or by signing into the application so that you have the latest features including the side by side layout.

Remember - if you bought any apps with another ID you cannot update them with a different ID.
Try changing the ID in the App Store. Tap on Featured - swipe to the bottom of the screen - tap on the ID in the bottom left corner - and see if you can change it that way.
If that doesn't work, sign out of your account altogether, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
I guess I should ask - what ID is it coming up with and why is it coming up with that ID?

Is it possible to have multiple text boxes on the same form line? I'm trying to replicate a form I've created usng Acrobat X Pro but can't seem to figure how to do it with FormsCentral?

My iPad 2 picks up very weak wifi signal, but my iPod touch 5 in the same spot picks up super strong signal. What can I do to change this?

I have an iPad 2 and am iPod touch 5. Yesterday, my iPad all of the sudden did not want to pick up ANY signal at all in my house. It's like it completely give up on wifi, while my iPod and my laptop works just fine in the same spot. (I have an upstairs bedroom, while the router is downstairs in the kitchen).
So I have been trying yesterday to get it to work so what I have done is completely wipe the memory clean after I backed it up on iTunes. After resetting it, I restored it. Still nothing. So I tried to take my iPad down nearer to the wifi router, and OMG it picked up the wifi signal! WHUT?!? It didn't yesterday though...
But now whenever I am up in my bedroom, my iPad would not pick up the wifi at all, or if it did, the wifi would be super duper weak! But two days ago, it was PERFECTLY okay! My iPod and laptop that is sitting right next to the iPad up in my bedroom pick up the signal completely fine.
Can someone help me? What should I do? Is it problems with my iPad or would it be my router that is the problem?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

How can I get rec'd text messages from the same subscriber not be appended

Hi,
Is there a way to configure the Apple iphone so that text messages from the same subscriber are displayed separately rather than appended to each other? In this way accidentally deleting one message wouldn't delete the entire history of messages from this subscriber.
When I launch the SMS service by pressing the green SMS button I am met by a screen that says Text Messages. On the left of this there is a button that says Edit and on the right there is one that is for writing a new message. Down the page are my messages all grouped by the originator of each messages. If I choose one I see that all messages from this source are present appended one after the other. There is also the option now to Clear on the top right hand corner. It is this Clear option I am worried about. If I choose Clear I am asked for a confirmation and then lo and behold as expected all my messages from this subscriber are deleted.
This is a work phone for support purposes and most of the texts will be from the telephone operator (i.e. the one same number) saying we have an email waiting to be read with a subject title giving a little description. I want to be in a position so that I don't accidentally delete the entire history of messages, say some evening when I'm tired or Monday morning if I 'm a bit asleep. Ideally I would prefer that each text message would stand alone in the Text Messages window irrespective of the originator and not be appended in a group fashion. Is there a way to do this?

There is no way to do that on the iPhone. Messages will always be grouped into a 'conversation' based on the sender/recipient. Only Apple can change that behavior.
