Making the file copy.

I try to copy Template PDF to Working copy but getting
error after following code on the Folder Level:
var md1 = app.openDoc({ cPath:"/c/PDF/1_Origin/Template.pdf",bHidden: true}) ;
var mp1 = app.getPath("/c/PDF/2_Work_to_do/Access_Copy.pdf") ;
md1.saveAs(mp1) ;
md1.closeDoc(true) ;
NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
I think it relate to "saveAs" method.
Is Somebody can tell me how to reset the method on the local PC?
Thanks.

> md1.saveAs(mp1)
You'll want to read the JS API Reference regarding the SaveAs call. Not entirely sure what you're doing, but that is definitely not how you call the saveAs method. There is also no Doc.getPath method, unless this is a custom document-level method you have defined elsewhere.

  • Increasing the File Copy Throughput

    How do I increase the file copy throughput (within and between the Azure VMs)?
    I have read the article about increasing the number of ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit  but couldn't find how/where I can make this change.
    http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/applisec/2012/01/04/windows-azure-benchmarks-part-1-blobs-read-throughput/
    Currently, when I make copy the file between the VMs or Drives within a VM, the transfer speed is only 10-20 MB/s and I think it should be much higher than this especially when I am copying between the drives in a VM.

    HI;
    Please create a new VM  from a different storage account in a different geographic location and cross check.
    in case if the issue still persists we will need to further investigate it and you would have to open up a Technical Ticket with our Windows Azure Technical Support team.

  • Copying files to my MBA Early 2011, 10.6.7 changes their 'date modified' to the current date. It happens only to some of the files copied. Any idea what my be causing it. Never had this problem before, on othe macs I have owned.

    Copying files to my new MBA (early 2011) running 10.6.7 results in their 'modification date' to change to the current date. Any idea what may be causing it. It happens only to some of the files (there is no pattern to it.). I have not seen it previously in many other macs I have owned.

    Hi all
    I am bumping this thread again because I can't believe that I am the only one experiencing this issue. At times it is costing me hours repeatedly copying files until eventually the date doesn't show as modified.
    I thought I had cracked it earlier by changing the Sharing & Permissions settings, and applying to enclosed items the ability for Everyone, Me and Staff fo have Read & Write permissions - but that doesn't seemed to have changed much.
    Copying in smaller batches helps sometimes, but then other times it makes no odds, and the Date Modified date shows as the original date for a few seconds, only to change to today's date. Driving me nuts because there is no pattern to it.
    Files which I have copied and show their original modified date, when moved to a subfolder, then have their date changed to today!!! Copying other files into the folder results in files that were previously OK having their Date Modified changed!
    Am I on the only one?

  • Why is the file copied onto my external bigger?

    Hope someone has an answer for this because its kind of bugging the crap out of me. I recently took my G5 Quad in for a repair and of course backed everything up and removed all personal info from the G5(call me paranoid). I noticed something odd, I had 305.75gb of photos that I copied onto my external but it shows up as 306.96gb. Like I said Im paranoid so I wrote down the number of files in that folder and the the desktop and external both note the same number of files.
    Anyone else bugged by this or is it just me. <Edited by Moderator> ...any information would be great its just really bugging me.

    Files take up more space on a larger drive because the drive space is divided into blocks, and if even a byte of a block is used, the block as a whole is considered used. Larger drives have larger blocks.

    And in any case, in any version of Windows that I've looked at, the file copy animation is an AVI, not a GIF.

  • File Copy times

    My newsreader is acting funny and dropping posted messages, so I
    apologize if this shows up twice.
    My comments on the file speed are that the times posted by other just go
    to show how difficult it sometimes is to make good timing measurements.
    I suspect that the wide variations being posted are in large part to
    disk caching. To measure this, you should either flush the caches each
    time or run them multiple times to make sure that the cache affects them
    more equally.
    Here is what I'd expect. The LV file I/O is a thin layer built upon the
    OS file I/O. Any program using file I/O will see that smaller writes
    have somewhat more overhead than a few large writes. However, at some
    size, either LV or the OS will break the larger writes into smaller
    ones. The file I/O functions in general will be slower to read and
    write contents than making a file copy using the copy node or move node.
    Sorry if I can't be more specific, but if you have a task that
    seems way to slow, please send it to technical support and report a
    performance problem. If we can find a better implementation, we will
    try to integrate it.

    Maybe this is because of the write buffer?
    Try mounting the media using the -o sync option to have data written immediately.

  • Is it possible to have media files copied to a new location as you import them into a project?

    I have roughly 800gb of footage i've taken over the past 2 years of traveling, and I am making a single video montage... The files are located on an external drive, making them slower to work with. I have a 1tb ssd but not enough free space to copy all the files to it for sorting. What i want to do is have the files copy over to the SSD as i add them to the project, so that only the footage i'm going to use gets copied over to the SSD. The only way i can determine if i am going to use the footage or not is to scrub through and mark Ins and Outs in premiere...
    So i guess my question, in the simplest terms i can ask is, Is there a setting in Premiere, like the project manager tool which allows you to consolidate used media files to one destination, but one that will consolidate files as you add them to the project? or could i do this manually by repeatedly using the project manager tool to consolidate files periodically?
    Hope that makes sense...
    Oh, and yes, i have considered other methods to my madness, like reviewing the footage outside of premiere before deciding if i will use it or not, frankly, i have over 4000 pieces of footage and it's just much faster to scrub through them in premiere than to open each one in vlc to review. It's also much more convenient to mark my ins and outs as i review the footage, so premiere is my only option.
    Thanks!

    You can easily (and better, IMHO) do what you want in Adobe Prelude.  It's part of the CC subscription, and may have been included with CS6.
    Open the Ingest panel, navigate to the external drive where you have your source clips, make the thumbnails in the Ingest panel comfortably large, click a video clip to enable scrubbing, and use the J-K-L keys to navigate playback through the clips.  Put a check mark on the clips you want and be sure to select and set up the Transfer option on the right side of the panel before ingesting.  Don't select the Transcode option.

  • File Copy with resume enable

    I am thinking of making a file copy program like the download managers, which provides resume enables, so that users can continue at later times.
    Suppose, i have a 10 GB file, and i want to transfer it over to my external, then instead of non breakable file copying, user get the option to stop, and resume laters from that point only.
    I am not sure if its feasible in java, but if its, please tell me how to achieve that.
    I am not asking you to give me the code, rather a bit about how to proceed in that direction.
    Thank you.

    user7761515 wrote:
    I am thinking of making a file copy program like the download managers, which provides resume enables, so that users can continue at later times.Well, I suspect you're going to have to come up with some sort of protocol that allows your copy job to complete its task (eg, a separate file containing the number of bytes written to the "partial" so that it knows where to resume from). I'd also suggest that you use some sort of name extension to distinguish your partial from a completed file, and only rename it when you know the job is finished.
    Alternatively, you could create "chunks" for each portion copied between a start/resume and the next pause (maybe with numbered extensions) and then concatenate them together as a final step (possibly simpler, but likely less efficient in space and time).
    Another thing to think about is changes: What if someone changes the file you want to copy between the time you pause and the time you resume? I suspect it should invalidate the whole job, but you'll probably want to check modification times (or alternatively, use a checksum) before you resume.
    If this is just an exercise, great; otherwise I suspect you may be re-inventing the wheel.

    It also occurs to me that you might want to investigate FTP. I'm pretty sure it has hooks for pausing and resuming, but you'll probably have to check if the Java library you choose allows that capability.

  • Multiple file copies just randomly miss a few of the files

    This is something that has happened to me on all networks I've used. My home network (gigabit LAN or 802.11n), work network, and any client network I've ever been on while supporting.
    I can select say 10 files on my MBP in finder. And either copy/paste or just drag to copy onto an SMB share (windows 2003 at home for my windows home server, also 2008 and 2008 R2 servers at work and clients). And the file copy goes fine. I see the progress window, it goes and I see the files populating the network share as it progresses. It runs the normal amount of time I'd expect for the speed of the network, and when it's done I get my sound. Then anywhere from three to nine of the files just disappear off the network share as the copy finishes. So it takes the time to copy them but does not complete.
    And it's not an every time thing. And it ONLY happens with multiple files, i NEVER have a problem doing files singularly. The same files that fail in a batch go fine when I copy them one by one in the same session after it failed doing them all at once.
    No errors on the windows side of things in the logs, disks are fine. Never happens with my MBP when I do it from windows either via VMware or booting directly into boot camp.
    No errors on the mac side, for all intents and purposes it completed successfully. Yet almost every time I do group copies, only a couple actually are on that network share when all is said and done.
    No AV or firewall on the server at the moment so it happens whether I have them enabled or uninstalled. No AV on the MBP.
    And no disconnects, etc. I'm watching things in an RDP session while the copy is happening and I never lose the network, it never drops. Downloads that I sometimes have going on are working just fine, everything is just perfect in every respect as far as networking goes, except for those copying of multiple files.
    Saw someone else had disabled write caching on the windows machine to overcome an actual error they had, and i had tried that in this instance long ago to no avail.
    This has happened since I first bought the laptop in July of '09 and it was running leopard, and has continued through every single version update since. Wired or wireless...
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    hey JDThree, i'm having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM!!! i've tried restarting both my server and my MBP, and it does the job a bit, but it's so random. even doing a single file copy doesn't seem to work. i tried copying over one file, then when it finished and was on the server, i copied the next file, and it removed the first file. so strange. anybody have any ideas?

  • Flat file connection: The file name "\server\share\path\file.txt" specified in the connection was not valid

    I'm trying to execute a SSIS package via SQL agent with a flat file source - however it fails with Code: 0xC001401E The file name "\server\share\path\file.txt" specified in the connection was not valid.
    It appears that the problem is with the rights of the user that's running the package (it's a proxy account). If I use a higher-privelege account (domain admin) to run the package it completes successfully. But this is not a long-term solution, and I can't
    see a reason why the user doesn't have rights to the file. The effective permissions of the file and parent folder both give the user full control. The user has full control over the share as well. The user can access the file (copy, etc) outside the SSIS
    package.
    Running the package manually via DTExec gives me the same error - I've tried 32 and 64bit versions with the same result. But running as a domain admin works correctly every time.
    I feel like I've been beating my head against a brick wall on this one... Is there some sort of magic permissions, file or otherwise, that are required to use a flat file target in an SSIS package?

    Hi Rossco150,
    I have tried to reproduce the issue in my test environment (Windows Server 2012 R2 + SQL Server 2008 R2), however, everything goes well with the permission settings as you mentioned. In my test, the permissions of the folders are set as follows:
    \\ServerName\Temp  --- Read
    \\ServerName\Temp\Source  --- No access
    \\ServerName\Temp\Source\Flat Files --- Full control
    I suspect that your permission settings on the folders are not absolutely as you said above. Could you double check the permission settings on each level of the folder hierarchy? In addition, check the “Execute as user” information from job history to make
    sure the job was running in the proxy security context indeed. Which version of SSIS are you using? If possible, I suggest that you install the latest Service Pack for you SQL Server or even install the latest CU patch.

  • Files copied (backed up) on an external hard drive can NOT be opened

    MacBook Pro (2.5GHz, intel Core i5)
    OS X Yosemite, 10.10.2
    I was running low on storage space on my Mac Pro. I copied all items on Desktop to my external hard drive. After all files were copied from MacBook Pro to the external hard drive, "get info" suggested that the amount of space taken entirely was the same between when all items were on the Desktop and when they were on the external hard drive. The number of items copied over were also identical. I should have been more careful, but I then deleted all items from the Desktop. It was until a few days later (today) that I noticed majority of the files copied over onto the external disk can NOT be opened now. The error message was "The alias “<filename>” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found.".
    I really don't want to lose these files, but where are they? They got their file sizes correct but just can not be opened. I tried copying these files back to Desktop on my MacBook Pro, that's not helpful. I tried accessing the files on a PC, still can't open the files. I tried repairing disk of the external hard drive (under Disk Utility), still can't open the files. I tried repairing disk permissions of my MacBook Pro hard drive, still can't open the files.
    One last thing I tried in terminal (I am not terminal savvy at all, just googled the "The alias..." error message and copied the instruction):  /usr/bin/SetFile -a a /Volumes/MAC This did not solve the problem, either.
    Thank you for your help in advance!

    Hi, eddie from pataskala ohio.
    We love pro-active thinking here at the Apple Discussions and you're off to a great start.
    Even though upgrading iTunes shouldn't affect your Library, one of the funny things about computers is that sometime, somehow, somewhere when you least expect it , they can do some not so funny things, like losing data that they're not supposed to. Which is why it's a good idea to have a back up copy of any data (such as your music) that you value in reserve ... just in case.
    The most straightforward way, is to go to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > General sub-tab and make sure your iTunes Music folder is assigned to its default location: C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes .
    Next make sure all your music is stored in that folder by using the iTunes Advanced menu > Consolidate Library option.
    Now you can copy the entire iTunes folder - the iTunes Music folder and the iTunes library files in particular - to your external drive.
    If anything does go wrong with the upgrade, you'll be all set to recreate your Library.

  • Storage Spaces: Virtual Disk taken offline during file copy, marked as "This disk is offline because it is out of capacity", but plenty of free space

    Server 2012 RC. I'm using Storage Spaces, with two virtual disks across 23 underlying physical disks.
    * First virtual disk is fixed provisioning, parity across 23 physical disks: 10,024GB capacity
    * Second virtual disk is fixed provisioning, parity across the remaining space on 6 of the same physical disks: 652GB capacity
    These have been configured as dynamic disks, with an NTFS volume spanned across the two (larger virtual disk first). Total volume size 10,676GB. For more details of the hardware, and why the configuration is like this, see: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserver8gen/thread/c35ff156-01a8-456a-9190-04c7bcfc048e
    I'm copying several TB from a network share to this volume. It is very slow at ~12MB/sec, but works. However, three times so far, several hours in to the file copy and with plenty of free space remaining, the 10,024GB virtual disk is suddenly taken offline.
    This obviously then fails the spanned volume and stops the file copy.
    The second time, I took screenshots, below. The disk (Disk27) is marked offline due to "This disk is offline because it is out of capacity". And the disk in the spanned volume is marked as missing (which is what you would expect when one of its member disks
    is offline).
    I can then mark the disk (Disk27) back online again, and this restores the spanned volume. I can then re-start the file copy from where it failed. There doesn't appear to be any data loss, but it does cause an outage that requires manual attention. As you
    can see, there is plenty of space left on the spanned volume.
    Each time this has happened, there are a few event 150 errors in the System event log: "Disk 27 has reached a logical block provisioning permanent resource exhaustion condition.". Source: Disk.

    This error seems to be related to thin provisioning of disks. I found this:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh848068(v=vs.85).aspx. But both these Virtual Disks are configured as Fixed, not Thin provisioning, so it shouldn't apply.
    My thoughts: the virtual disk should not spuriously go offline during a file copy, even if it was out of space. And in any case, there is plenty of free space remaining. Also, I don't understand the reason for why it is marked as offline ("This disk is offline
    because it is out of capacity"). Why would a disk go offline because it was out of thin capacity, rather than just returning an "out of disk space" error while keeping it online.

    Interesting Thread, I've been having the same issue. I had a failed hardware RAID that was impossible to recover in place, so after being forced to do a 1:1 backup, I find myself with 5 2TB hard drives to play with. Storage Spaces seemed like an interesting
    way to go until I started facing the issues we share.
    So my configuration is A VM Running Windows Server 2012 RC with 5 Virtualized Physical drives using a SCSI interface, 2TB in size that make up my storage pool. A Single Thinly provisioned Disk of 18 TB (using 1 disk for parity)
    Interestly enough, write speed has not been an issue on this machine (30~70MB/s, up from 256k on the beta)
    Of note to me is this error in my event log 13 minutes before the drive disappeared:
    "The shadow copies of volume E: were deleted because the shadow copy storage could not grow in time.Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied."Source: volsnap, Event ID: 25, Level: Error
    followed by:
    "The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId: E:, DeviceName: \Device\HarddiskVolume17.(The physical resources of  this disk have been exhausted.)"Source: Ntfs (Microsoft-Windows-Ntfs), Event ID: 140, Level: Warning
    I figure the amount of space available to me before I start encountering physical limits is in the vicinity of about 7TB. It dropped out for the second time at 184 GB.
    FYI, the number of columns created for me is 5

  • Can't get File.copy(target) to work.

    Hi,
    I'm writing a script where I want to copy a file to another location after the render has finished, but I can't get the File.copy() method to work.
    Here's a snippet of the code:
    app.project.renderQueue.render();
    var renderedFile = app.project.renderQueue.items[1].outputModules[1].file;
    renderedFile.copy("c:\\");
    The render works fine and renderedFile.fullName returns the correct path and name, but the actual copying just doesn't work.
    I have made sure that scripts are allowed to access files and network.
    thanks
    Ludde

    never mind, I solved it.
    It wasn't clear to me that I had to specify both target path AND file name.
    This works just fine now:
    renderedFile.copy("c:\\rendered.mov");
    cheers
