as parents you have to have a good way to manage children..
I found one... I came across it when a guy offered to help me
out with learning/playing with some flex..
first he had an issue with filling up arrays with data.. and
making coppies and housing the data..
that caused the memory to get eaten.. Sorry but even the
mighty PC runs out of food for the hungry programmer :)
I fixed this by getting new data.. dumping the data in my
array.. and feeding it the new stuff...
Not sure how everyone does it. but i simply...
for ( ; arraystuff.pop() ; );
if i add data to ...
variable = event.result.....;
<process to new data>
for ( ; variable.pop() ; );
that resolved the memory leak...
In C/C++ there is a free(); function..... anyone know of
something == in ActionScript?
After I had corrected all this.. I found small bits of data
getting eaten very very slowly...
I noticed my friend was calling states and not removing the
child..
I even got some very very strange behavior... not sure if it
is normal code/pratice.. but..
he had a function that was basically...

Whenever I turn on my Apple TV, it get an error message that says Go to itunes store on your computer and get your password.

I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section. If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
In my iTune I have this, and I believe it is the default.

I click "Visit your website" and get a SORRY page

When at my website pages on my desktop (the working pages), I click onto VISIT (your website) and I get that SORRY we couldn't find it page. The URL that shows in the address field is:

In fact, my website URL is: http://web.mac.com/lorna6
I don't know why the rest of it (Websiteof_LornaAlexander/Welcome.html) got appended to it.
When I delete that extra part and then click on the part that is the true URL, I still get that SORRY page.
As well, there are certain pages in the website that do not open--- they yield a SORRY message as well.
I just today updated my previous iWeb '06 to the new version, iWeb '08. I am doing this all on my new Intel iMac.
If you can help I would be happy.

Question: Where do I find Keychain Access and how will I be able to know/make sure that Leopard didn't change anything? It wasn't an upgrade, either. It was a clean install on this brand new Intel iMac, 24“ monitor.

What do you use to manage your clients and push software?

Going around from machine to machine is getting tiring. We have been evaluating different software distribution applications and have yet to find one that has done the job well. What product(s) do you use to manage your clients as far as drivers, applications,
settings, configs, etc? All of our machines are running windows 7 (possibly Windows 8 by the end of next year).
The one's I've tried are: Dell Kace and ManageEngine Desktop Central 8.

Can anyone tell me if the apple ID area of the site is having issues? I have tried most of the day to change my apple ID in "manage your account" and it will not accept or allow me to change it. This is irritating since it now requires an email address

Can anyone advise if apple is having issues with the APPLE ID portion of their site? I have been trying all afternnon to update my apple id from "Manage your account". It will not allow a revision with the instructions given. THis is most irritating since with the new update your apple ID must now be your email address which is incredibly old and I would certainly like to change it to my current email address!
You have the option to do that but THAT OPTION is also not working at this time.

I am having the same problems. Firstly found out that I had a duplicate email address on two apple ids so I fixed that but now it wont let me verify the email address. When I click on "verify email address" nothing happens. So frustrating cos cant set up Facetime or iMessage on my iPad.

It is a common issue for registration. It is really hard to find where is wrong. What I can suggest you is first double check the credit card information which is valid and correct. Check your LiveID with correct and enough data to meet any related
information during registration. Of course, make sure the country of the credit card is available in the list of Windows Azure. Also as the message says you can consult the financial institution for the payment method. You can try these channels for help:

How do you "clean up" your computer and get rid of programs?

I want to get rid of things I don't use. But how do you do that without deleting something important by accident? How do you do that when you don't recognize certain programs? Open each one at a time and decide if I want to keep it or not?
I'm referring mainly to things I may have downloaded but some of them on there make no sense and having a hard time reading the names. Is there a faster way to approach this without destroying something that doesn't need to be? Thanks.

How to open a popup and get some data from a model class

mi problem is the next.
I am opening a popup from a view that is controlled by a controller named identificador.do, the controller class is z_identity_cl.
the window that is opened is other view controlled by nocupentes.do, with a controller class, z_nocupantes_cl.
In the do_init event of the z_nocupantes class i have added the next code:

Hi Eduardo,
you should be calling the Controller in the URL not the View. after calling the controlles in the URL create the view in the DO_REQUEST of the Controller. This should resolve the issue.
In the the DO_INIT define the Parent class of the Controller.

Getting someone to fix your line and getting feedb...

hi had a fault since since sun18th November reported it Monday since then had to complain as Bt missing supposed deadlines. I know it has been busy with the gales floods etc and have had deadline pushed back but new one also expired yesterday. Only received one SMS saying they will contact me today to let me know of progress ? After they intended to fix it? Seems a little odd to me. Is anyone else fed up of having to use their mobile running up bills and having to visit library and friends to do internet email etc. Am I alone in being fed up to the back teeth with the lack of service. I have complained twice via email for all the good it has done me. Then just to add insult to injury a BT Openreach went to one of my neighbours on tuesday but did not even visit my property.

the Openreach engineer that visited to your neighbour would not have known of your fault there fault may have been older than yours as you have posted Openreach are currently very busy following the recent bad weather and repairs are being delayed and rescheduled daily

HT4913 I got a new computer and have an old iPod that I need to add to "manage my device" and cant seem to get it added. When I originally plugged in my iPod to my new computer, it ended up erasing all of my playlists.Help

I have an old iPod that has all of my music and use my personal computer to keep iTunes on and store all of my music. Recently my old computer died and had to get a new computer. I got my iTunes restores on my new computer and see all of my music, but when I tried to sync up my old iPod (love it!), I ended up erasing all of my playlist. In my "manage my device" I see my iPhone, my iPad, but I do not see my iPod. How can I add my iPod to "my manage my Devices" and get it synced up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW - Somehow I was able to restore my iPod back to Factory Settings.

There are lots of ideas floating on the web for this particular issue - all of which I tried. I had the same problem and it turned out to be my USB cable. I thought the cable was fine as it would charge my phone and play but the data transfer pin was bent. I replaced the cable and it fixed the problem. Worth a shot as it is an easy fix!

We have SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 with MDT 2013.
I have checked the OSD reports in SCCM and everyone is emty, where do SCCM get data to the what to activate?
(I thinking of "Task Sequence - Deployment Status" reports)
I am not sure people read report manually or lock at the MDT monitor view. So best I think that generate an email or incident in Service Manager when an TS fails.
We do have SCOM, SCSM, SCO.
Is there anyone that can point what way or what option I have?

Specifically you could use this Status Message Query syntax to monitor your Task Sequences for errors:

Just replace DOJ200A1 with the Deployment ID of your Task Sequence and DOJ with your SiteCode.
If you want to generate an alert if the TS fails then you could run a script that calls a utility (or similar) which sends a pre-configured email to a specified address (as an alternative to Torten's response). This could be placed in the built in error
logging section of the SCCM integrated MDT Task Sequence when it fails which I assume you are using (right at the bottom, called Gather Logs and StateStore on failure).
There are heaps of ways of generating an email from a TS and controlling error logging just do a search - as you have Service Manager you could even use your instance of Orchestrator and call a run book in your TS which does the email?

I am configuring a new 17" MBP. I have a ton of questions mostly because I stopped updating the OS at Tiger 10.4.11. Due to being accepted into a grad.school of architecture, panning, and preservation earlier than I thought, I will not be able to do what I was planning. that was learning Leopard on a friend's computer while taking what I thought was my last upper division course and having the basics of that OS, and having SL on the new 17" MPB for school. which I am now starting 4 months before I thought.
I stopped at the Tiger version because Macs were real hard for me to learn and I am still probably way behind what most kids can do. (Oh, just out of the blue, what does it mean when Apple uses OS X a lot? (Are all of the Operating Systems OS X or how does that work?)
Any feeling on skipping over Leopard and getting a Mac with SL installed, if indeed that is what they are now doing.
I could go of on some more technical questions but I am going to not make this too long and ask m last question about the iPods. When they fist came out, I tried one and I broke it. it told me to install this software on the Pod but it already had it installed on it and I could not get it to work after that. The second time, I was exercising with it and I guess the jogging on the treadmill was too hard on the hard drive and it was out flat and cold as ice.
So, I just switched t my old FM Sony and used that but I would like to get an iPod with the new Mac and hopefully use it with iTunes to download the thousands of songs I have purchased o iTunes onto the iPod. Any suggestions on how to learn using it? I am sure it is simple for most of you and you guys are laughing at me, but am serious, there has got to be another person out there, who did not grasp how to use it like the rest of the world.
Also, I have never understood why Apple does not come with a practical Owner's Manual? Every time I look up something it is not there or has such little written about that are, it does me no good. I have heard about the Missing manuals and that they have one coming out for th iPods.
any recommendation on an iPod for a beginner? Not something too large but comfortable, holds up to a clumsy big person, like I hope my MacBook Pro will. I'll sneak one last one in here, are the Macs with 2 graphics architecture really something that is needed, or maybe I do not understand how the 2 that are used-NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT discrete graphics processors used all the time when needed (which is determined by the software like games, architecture apps, etc.? I know in my are I will need this for sure but I just do not understand it like I should. I will read up on it but if anybody has any "bits and pieces" that could help me understand why the average "Joe" would get a notebook with this intense graphic ability, I just do not understand.
I also understand that you can turn them on and off or use one or two, but is this something the user can do or the notebook does? I was also wondering if these intense graphic cards draw from their own dedicated power or what? Is this e of the reasons why the new MBP give one the ability to put up to 8 GB of pretty intense RAM in this machine.
the 13 MBP does not have both graphic cards, right? But it will take up to 8 GB of RAM. I am not getting something or my technology skills need to be worked on.
The mini display port which seems like most notebooks are installing now, allows for pure digital connection to external displays. Can somebody give me a few examples of what this would be? Are they talking about larger displays that work off of the notebook but sit o your desk or can be used to watch a movie? I am not familiar with the term "pure digital.

One of them found this site and ...well, long story but I am trying to deal with it like my family deals with problems like this--not the typical way most families will deal with this, but I know it will stop now.

You can't edit a post after anyone else has responded to it, and you can't ever completely delete it — but during the short time it's available for editing (30 minutes or so, if no one has responded), you can delete all the text from it.
Maybe you could try prioritizing your questions, so folks here will know which ones are most important to you and focus on those first?

Macbook Pro won't boot and getting gray screen, help!

I have a Macbook Pro 15" from mid2011. The warranty just expired one week ago.
I was normally using it without any problem, when suddenly the screen started to freeze and get some horizontal line. I had to force shut down with the power button couple times. The next day, my MBP wasn't booting during the startup.
When I turn on, I can hear the chime, the Apple logo show up and the little wheel turns, but after those things the screen remaing gray without any thing happens.
I have tried some steps that I found on discussion, forums, and websites like:
- PRAM
- cmd-s (to verify and clean the HD)
- hold option and restore using a flash drive with Mountain Lion (after I choose the drive, I get a "blue" screen)
- Remove the RAM and put back
All those things weren't successful.
What do you guys think I should do now?
What are the main causes of gray screen or blue screen?
Should I replace my RAM or HD?
I'm avoiding to take to a technichian or a geek, because I have a lot of confidential work inside. Luckly, I have a backup of everything.
