Management Consolidation-Moving PC and PC Group

Hi,
We want to do Managemet Consoliation based on Profit Centers. Would like to understand how movement of Profit Center and Profit Center Group is handeld in Managemetn Consolidation? These change are purely management requirement and does not affect legal ownership.
Kindly advise.
Best Regards,
UR

The biggest challenge is reconciling PCs with LEs.
I agree that this is challenge. But if the management where UR works would be interested in automatic reconciliation they would consider the matrix consolidation - the manual reconciliation would go away.
Otherwise (without a matrix and only PC CU) such consolidation will worth nothing just taking into account how much manual work it will take to really reconcile the data.

I had all my applications functioning well with a grsecurity/PaX hardened kernel until several days ago when I reset my paxf lags. I restored the pax flags for the binaries but one frequently used application is experiencing problems.
When I launch mplayer I receive the following output in dmesg:

Does this mean I need to add my user to the tpe-trusted group in order to run mplayer? If so, why aren't other programs experiencing the same problem and would adding the user to the tpe-trusted group compromise system security due to privilege escalation? Thanks for the support.

  • Cisco Prime 4.2, Inventory group management and reports group

    Hi
I have created some groups under Inventory > Group Management > Device.  This works fine.
Then I want to create a monthly report for Reports > Performance > Device > Availability.  Here I guessed I would find my groups created under inventory.
But I can se the groups, one group is duplicated, but all groups are empty.  Under all devices, I can only see 6 og th devices but it should have been 122. Under the different subnet groups, there's no devices.
Should'nt I've seen the groups created under inventory when I want to make a report? Under the device list for quick report.
    Br
    Geir

Hm.... strange  I've been looking around under Report, and looked at Inventory and Performance reports.
Inventory > Detailed Device shows all the devices and my groups.
Performance > Device > Availability show just 6 out of my 122 devices.
Under Inventory > Group Managment > Device I have a group called Datasenter.
Under Performance > Device > Availability I can see 2 of these groups, but their both empty.
When i delete this group, one of them dissapeer from Under performance.  WHen I create it again, it comes back but empty.
    Something must be corrupt.

  • How to export "Managed by" field of Distribution and Security groups and import with new values? (Exchange 2010, AD 2003)

My Active Directory environment is 2003 functional level and we have Exchange 2010.
I am trying to find out the best way to do a mass edit for the "Managed by" values of our security and distribution groups.
I know we can export the "managed by" field by csvde but I am not sure this is the correct way to do it. Also in the case that there are multiple users assigned to be managing a distribution group it only shows one value. Also powershell from Exchange
2010 can be used with "get-distribution" but as our AD environment is 2003 is this correct also?
Finally once the data is exported to csv can it be edited to then reimport and udpate the existing group managed by fields with new values?
Not really sure that the best way to go about this is.
Summary - We have 2003 AD with Exchange 2010 and I am trying to export a list of all our Distribution/Security groups showing the group name and managedby values so we can edit and update the
existing managedby values with new ones. In some cases we have multiple users as the owners.
Appreciate any advice on how this can be best achieved. Thank you.

    Hi,
We can use the following command in Exchange 2010 to export "Managed by" field of Distribution and Security groups:
    Get-DistributionGroup | Select-object Name,@{label="ManagedBy";expression={[string]::join(“;”,$_.managedby)}},Primarysmtpaddress | Export-Csv
    C:\export.csv
After you changed the Managed by field in export.csv and saved it as a new file named import.csv, we can run the following command to set with new value:
    Import-Csv C:\import.csv | Foreach-Object{ Set-DistributionGroup –Identity $_.Name –ManagedBy $_.ManagedBy}
    Hope it works.

  • Difference Between Legal Consolidation and Management Consolidation

    Dear Experts,
    Kindly help me to know
    1) To Differenciate between Legal Consolidation and Management Consolidation Theoritically?
    2) To Differenciate between Legal Consolidation and Management Consolidation Technically in BPC?
    3) What is impact on /Difference on Business Process Flow in BPC in case of Legal Consolidation or Management Consolidation? (What should be done in Management COnsolidation and Legal COnsolidation in BPF in BPC)
    Thanks in Advance
    Ritesh

True accounting/legal consolidations encompasses the three following elements:
    1.  the general ledgers of the entities
    2. elimination entries between entities (inter entity transactions such as sales/cost of sales, a/r and a/p etc.)
    3. adjustments for partially owned entities
Using the legal app, rate and ownership apps, and the proper configuration, outlooksoft achieves a legal/accounting  consolidation.  Accounting consolidations also link to a legal hierarchy of entities.
Any consolidation that is referred to as management or financial consolidation etc. can have differing connotations.   In Outooksoft  software,  management consolidations does not include item 3.
However, when the terms are used by the client they can have different meanings.  They could mean either :
A true legal consolidation BUT tied to the  Management hierarchy of entities (as  opposed to a legal hierarchy) OR An aggregation without item 3 above and tied to the Management hierarchy of entities.
9 times out of 10, clients usually want the first  rather than the second alternative.  Financial statements
rolled up using legal consol should equal that using management consol.
However, when clients do planning, they may have their entities plan as if they were fully owned. They could also have their entities provide actals for less than 100% in the case of partially owned entities.   In these cases, you have to adjust appropriately.
From an Outlooksoft config point of view, you need the legal, rate and ownership app and the related configuration for a legal consolidation.  Management consol depends on client definition and client practice in the data that they collect from the entities.
In the area of BPFs, the key difference between legal and management COULD be the steps (1-3) and the maintenance of the different hierarchies and ownership values.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Re: BPC; Legal and Management Consolidation

    Hello,
Would it be possible to have both legal and management consolidation with one Appset and two different Applications? One Application for legal consolidation and another for Management consolidation?
    Please share your inputs.
    Kind regards,
    RJ

    Hi Niranjan,
Can we have both legal and management consolidation in one application ? If there are 2 applications, the processes and reports need to be maintained in 2 different applications.
Is there a way to maintain in one application knowing the complexity involved in intercompany eliminations.
    Thank you,
    Mohan

  • Legal and management consolidation

    Hi experts,
Anybody can specify what are all the differences between legal and management consolidation?
What are the tasks that differentiate each one from the other?
    Regards.

    Hi,
Technically, you can do both in same application. However, it would be advisable to have separate applications. You will need to do lot of intercompany bookings, eliminations. This may increase the amount of data in a single application.
    Hope this helps.

  • ITunes Fix for Manually Moving Music and other Media

    Intro
Any iTunes 7.x user who manages their own music library outside of the "iTunes Music" folder might be able to tell you that iTunes DOES NOT respond well after manually moving tracks from one place to another on their computer systems. In fact, any file you move becomes immediately unplayable in iTunes. And, if you're anything like I am, losing several years worth of song rating metadata and playlists is not a good incentive for change. However, one thing others might not be able to tell you is that there's an easy workaround for the problem and you get to keep your playlists, ratings and other info. Read on to learn about the workaround.
    About the Workaround
The workaround is a simple hack I devised after recently transferring a good portion of my music library between hard disks and running into problems with iTunes. The fix steps provided below are intended to circumvent the problems with iTunes and give users the freedom to move songs and other media files on their computers while maintaining the integrity of both the ratings and the playlists. Meaning you won't need to manually update the song locations in iTunes one-at-a-time, which, at version 7.02 is the only way to accomplish this task using the program.
Please be aware that not all information is retained using this workaround. What will be lost are the following: the "Recently Added", "Recently Played" and "Top 25 Most Played" iTunes Smart Playlists; any media file play counts; last played information; and possibly some other data used only internally by iTunes.
So, if you're comfortable parting with some metadata while keeping your cherished song ratings and playlists intact during file relocation, read on to learn how to use the workaround.
    Workaround Steps
The following instructions walk step-by-step through the process of this workaround.
Note: All backslashes used in file paths have been converted to forward slashes so that they will adhere with MySpace XSS security validation checks. These altered paths can still be copy/paste into Windows Vista's Explorer program once the Username is changed to the User Account where the iTunes files reside.
    Preparing for the Move
Before you move your files, do the following:
    1. Close iTunes.
    2. Create a backup copy of the following files:
iTunes Library XML (iTunes Music Library.xml)
Note: Vista users can find the Library XML at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
    iTunes Music Database (iTunes Library.itl)
Note: Vista users can find the Music Database at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
    Moving Your Files
This part should be self explanatory, but while you do it make sure to note the following two things:
    1. The path where the files were previously stored (e.g. D:/Music).
    2. The path where the files will end up (e.g. E:/Music).
    Execute the Fix
After your files are moved, complete the following steps to implement the fix.
Note: Do not open iTunes during this process.
    Hack the iTunes Library XML
Once the files are moved the Library XML file locations will be out of sync. Follow the steps below to update them so that they now reference the correct file locations.
    1. Open the iTunes Library XML with a Text Editor with a Find/Replace function.
Note: Vista users can find the Library XML at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
Tip: Do not try to do this with Dreamweaver if your Library XML is greater than 10MB.
    2. Perform a Find/Replace using the following inputs:
Find: Path from Step 1 of Moving Your Files
Replace: Path from Step 2 of Moving Your Files
    3. Confirm your results, and then save and close the Library XML.
    Delete the iTunes Music Database
Hacking the iTunes Library isn't enough to fool iTunes. Like the Library XML, the Music Database also holds the file locations of all of the media stored within the program. And it's smart enough to wipe out the Library XML hack if iTunes is opened before completing this step.
Ensure you have backed up the iTunes Music Database (iTunes Library.itl) and delete the file.
Note: Vista users can find the Music Database at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
    Back in iTunes
Once the fix is in place you can now open iTunes again. You will notice that all of your playlists, music and other items have vanished. In order to recover them all (with the exception of the Smart Playlists mentioned in the About the Workaround section above) we'll need to import the hacked Library XML file back into iTunes.
    1. Open iTunes and press CtrlShiftO or go to File > Import…
    2. Navigate to and Open your modified Library XML (as pictured below).
    3. iTunes will then begin importing the contents of the XML file (as pictured below).
Note: This process may take a while, depending on the size if your library.
    Wrapping Up
Once the import process is complete iTunes will look almost exactly the way you left it, with the exception that some playlists have been duplicated and the number of songs may be a hair off. To fix this problem delete any duplicate playlists in the "Library" panel in iTunes. You can now test out the changes by selecting an item moved earlier and testing it out. All that's left from there is to let iTunes perform any automated analysis it needs to do and rock on.
      Other OS

    Holy Smokes:
I appreciate your detailed workaround post. My question is this: I use iTunes to keep everything organized (though I'm well aware of the shortcomings...) and can use the simple solution that Chris from CA posted, but I don't have room to consolidate everything. My read on consolidating is that you copy from wherever you have your music located (and right now my music is outside of the MyMusic/iTunes folder, as that backs up to my work server) and so you have to have enough room for all of your music to be copied (and then you delete it from its prior location). That's how Apple describes it in, e.g., http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748. I ain't go that kind of room. Is there any way to make the move to a completely different PC by following the simple option? From the posting I just linked it sounds like you MUST consolidate whether you use you iPod to move things or use an external drive.
Of course, I can use your workaround, but I thought I'd ask first. Many thanks.

  • Legal Consolidation VS Management Consolidation

    Hi Gurus,
    In the reporting application types
" Financial type allows to perform Management consolidation function and in Consolidation type allows to perform Legal consolidation function. "
What is the difference between Management consolidation and legal consolidation ?
I am bit confused can some one explain me what exactly it mean with an example??

    Hi,
For the consolidation purpose, the data record contains at least the following fields:
    company
    company-partner
    Profit Centre
    Profit Centre-partner.
For legal consolidation, only company-related data matters. Because Profit centre data will be taken from the other source. For management consolidation, only Profit centre-related data matters.
There will be 2 initial data sets,  should be created as Consolidation Areas to meet the business requirements , for example ASML -Legal Consolidation,ASMM-Management Consolidation. This is as according to the best in practice approach to have different sets of data for legal and management reporting.  Management is focused on per segment, per product reporting and statutory focused on the legal entity view.
Each consolidation area will only hold the relevant consolidation unit.  That is, the statutory consolidation area will only hold company codes and will not post/process to profit centres at all.  The management view will hold Company codes/profit centres (sub assignment object) and the users will post only to the relevant company codes/profit centres

I need your help with a decision to use iPhoto.  I have been a PC user since the mid 1980’s and more recently have used ACDSee to manage my photo images and Photoshop to edit them.  I have used ProShow Gold to create slideshows.  I am comfortable with my own folder and file naming conventions. I currently have over 23,000 images of which around 60% are scans going back 75 years.  Since I keep a copy of the originals, the storage requirements for over 46,000 images is huge.  180GB plus.
I now have a Macbook Pro and will add an iMac when the new models arrive.  For my photos, I want to stay with Photoshop which also gives me the Bridge.  The only obvious reason to use iPhoto is to take advantage of Faces and the link to iMovie to make slideshows.  What am I missing and is using iPhoto worth the effort?
If I choose to use iPhoto, I am not certain whether I need to load the originals and the edited versions. I suspect that just the latter is sufficient.  If I set PhotoShop as my external editor, I presume that iPhoto will keep track of all changes moving forward.  However, over 23,000 images in iPhoto makes me twitchy and they are appear hidden within iPhoto.  In the past, I have experienced syncing problems with, and database errors in, large databases.  If I break up the images into a number of projects, I loose the value of Faces reaching back over time.
Some guidance and insight would be appreciated.  I have a number of Faces questions which I will save for later.

Bridge and Photoshop is a common file-based management system. (Not sure why you'd have used ACDSEE as well as Bridge.) In any event, it's on the way out. You won't be using it in 5 years time.
Up to this the lack of processing power on your computer left no choice but to organise this way. But file based organisation is as sensible as organising a Shoe Warehouse based on the colour of the boxes. It's also ultimately data-destructive.
Modern systems are Database driven. Files are managed, Images imported, virtual versions, lossless processing and unlimited editing are the way forward.
For a Photographer Photoshop is overkill. It's an enormously powerful app, a staple of the Graphic Designers' trade. A Photographer uses maybe 15% to 20% of its capability.
Apps like iPhoto, Lightroom, Aperture are the way forward - for photographers. There's the 20% of Photoshop that shooters actually use, coupled with management and lossless processing. Pop over to the Aperture or Lightroom forums (on the Adobe site) and one comment shows up over and over again... "Since I started using Aperture/ Lightroom I hardly ever use Photoshop any more..." and if there is a job that these apps can do, then the (much) cheaper Elements will do it.
The change is not easy though, especially if you have a long-standing and well thought out filing system of your own. The first thing I would strongly advise is that you experiment before making any decisions. So I would create a Library, import 300 or 400 shots and play. You might as well do this in iPhoto to begin with - though if you’re a serious hobbyist or a Pro then you'll find yourself looking further afield pretty soon. iPhoto is good for the family snapper, taking shots at birthdays and sharing them with friends and family.
Next: If you're going to successfully use these apps you need to make a leap: Your files are not your Photos.
The illustration I use is as follows: In my iTunes Library I have a file called 'Let_it_Be_The_Beatles.mp3'. So what is that, exactly? It's not the song. The Beatles never wrote an mp3. They wrote a tune and lyrics. They recorded it and a copy of that recording is stored in the mp3 file. So the file is just a container for the recording. That container is designed in a specific way attuned to the characteristics and requirements of the data. Hence, mp3.
Similarly, that Jpeg is not your photo, it's a container designed to hold that kind of data. iPhoto is all about the data and not about the container. So, regardless of where you choose to store the file, iPhoto will manage the photo, edit the photo, add metadata to the Photo but never touch the file. If you choose to export - unless you specifically choose to export the original - iPhoto will export the Photo into a new container - a new file containing the photo.
When you process an image in iPhoto the file is never touched, instead your decisions are recorded in the database. When you view the image then the Master is presented with these decisions applied to it. That's why it's lossless. You can also have multiple versions and waste no disk space because they are all just listings in the database.
These apps replace the Finder (File Browser) for managing your Photos. They become the Go-To app for anything to do with your photos. They replace Bridge too as they become a front-end for Photoshop.
So, want to use a photo for something - Export it. Choose the format, size and quality you want and there it is. If you're emailing, uploading to websites then these apps have a "good enough for most things" version called the Preview - this will be missing some metadata.
So it's a big change from a file-based to Photo-based management, from editing files to processing Photos and it's worth thinking it through before you decide.

  • Sales Office and Sales Group Automatic Determination based on the Sold to P

    Hello every one
We need determine sales office and sales group based on sold to party master data in Activity Management in SAP CRM 2007.
I want to know if there is a way to do it when we save the document.
    Any ideas???

hi, the sales org, office, group determination can be configure in Organization Determination.
You can choose Org Determine rule for your CRM document.
And if you feel the rule can't match your requirement,  you can create a new rule, and create customize function module for the rule, you can add your determine logic in the function module to realize your requirement.
