Manufacturing quality of my newly received mba 13"

finally receive my mba13" after days delay, but sad to find the manufacturing quality is not as good as my mbp 15" bought 1.5 yrs ago. look at the gap on the 45w power adapter, how can they make this kind of Apple product???!!! compare to the old mbp, that's really significant quality going-down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what's the problem? Does the adapter not work? Does the connector not stay in place? If so, take it to an Apple Store. If it's all working fine, then the gap is strictly cosmetic and not a problem.
Such a gap is present on most of the AC adapters I have dating back to the old iBook G3 days, by the way.
Regards.

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!  I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, thankfully I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply.  Please help.  Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-
    http://www.ecu.edu/cs-itcs/mac/Apple-Mail-Out-of-Office-Replies.cfm
I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails. Thank you

    You can set it easily...
To access this feature in Apple's Mail app, right click on any sub-folder (like your exchange inbox on the left) and choose "Get Account Info." A window will pop up that looks like the one below. Make sure to select your Exchange account from the Account dropdown. Then click on the Out Of Office tab. If you have ever put in an Out of Office message in the past it will be displayed here. You can adjust and set your Out of Office from Apple Mail from within this tab.

  • Quality of service in Receiver file/ftp adapter (SAP PI 7.1)?

    Hi,
We are building an IDoc to File scenario in SAP PI 7.1, where a single incoming idoc will create three different output files. Also files must be created in target server in a specific order.
Our first idea to ensure that files would be created following a specific order was that Message mapping (in Java) build target payload with all three files following expected sequence.
In addition, receiver file/ftp adapter is setup with a dynamic variable to create each file with a different filename adding also timestamp.
Testing the scenario, we see that three files are created in target server but when we sort them by creation date, it seems they don't follow always same sequence.
Sometimes adapter creates File1, File2, File3; next time it created File2, File1, File3 and so on.
Our problem is that files must be created always with a specific order and we cannot use BPM. Does anyone know if a receiver file/ftp adapter can be setup to create files following specific sequence (EOIO)?
I know that sender file/ftp adapter can be setup with a quality of service, but I didn't find anything similar for Receiver file/ftp adapter.
        Suggestions will be welcome.
    Kind Regards,
    Aitor

    Hi,
First, thanks all of you for your quick answers. They were helpful because we learnt a new configuration setting.
We tried your suggestions but they didn't really fix our problem.
Finally interface has been re-designed and we will not have to apply this logic, so no issue from our side.
However, let me continue with this topic in case that somebody else will have the same issue, then it will be able to review this thread.
When adapter created the files in the target directory (windows server), files had the expected timestamp in each filename. However, if we sorted windows directory contents by "Date Creation", files were sorted different that timestamp shows in the filename.
For example, adapter created following files:
    File1_20090325-115117-169
    File2_20090325-115117-174
    File3_20090325-115117-180
But when we sorted windows folder contents, files were sorted as follows:
    File2_20090325-115117-174
    File1_20090325-115117-169
    File3_20090325-115117-180
It seems that timestamp was pre-assigned by the adapter, but when adapter created the files, it did it with a temporary name and finally assigns the filename. If a file size was bigger than other, maybe it takes more time and windows creation date is higher.
If so, it means that adapter is not following same instructions as itu2019s indicated in "maintain order at runtime" checkbox.
Do you know if there is any way where we can push also the order in the adapter as we did in interface determination?

    Aitor

  • Changing Quality of Service in Receiver Adapter

    Hi,
We have a scenario where hundreds of messages for the same interface is sent to XI and written to one file on the receiver side.  We do not want to change the QOS (Quality of Service) to EOIO (Exactly Once in Order) on the sender side nor do we want to use BPM due to performance issues.
Is there any way to change the QOS to EOIO after the mapping is complete?
I tried changing the QOS (DeliverySemantics) using a adapter module on the receiver adapter.  In the audit log, I can see that the QOS has been changed to EOIO and assigned to the correct ConversationId, but the messages does not follow the EOIO process.
    Any help is great appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Duke

Here is more detail on the scenario.
Hundreds of messages come into XI from R/3.  One message is split into multiple messages by using the Extended Interface Determination.  These messages are written to a file (each message has its own file).  The file adapter is set to append.
The issue we are facing is that when hundreds of messages are processed simultaneously, it triggers an error when attempting to write to the file (locking issues).  It then has to wait and retry, which adds to total processing time.  Due to the time sensitivity of these interfaces and the errors that are raised, we would like to change the QOS to EOIO on the receiver side (when it writes to the file) so that it does not have to wait and retry.
The Maintain Order at Runtime is checked in the Interface Determination.  Once it gets to the adapter framework to write to the file, it has a QOS of Exactly Once, which is carried over from the sender.
We do not want to change the QOS on the sender side, but only on the receiver side.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Duke

  • Is the Aperture "Preview Book" option quality what you will receive as a book?

Hey guys, so I've been working for several weeks on a book in Pages (exported as PDF to Aperture) and I have to say that the quality of the "Preview Book" option is horrible. I understand that exporting PDFs from Pages into Aperture isn't the best, but regardless the discrepancy between the preview book at 100% zoom and the original PDF is appalling. The main culprit seems to be text in general, and in my case it is Helvetica Neue Light. I'm assuming that very light and thin text just doesn't work well when printed. Everything else seems to be "OK", and a few pages that were done in Photoshop look the best. But is this what I can expect? That thin text will just look bad when printed?
Here are the examples so you can see:
    Preview Book
Original PDF in Aperture at 100%
Now, has anybody else run into this issue? I can't be the only person who has designed a book in other software and imported it to Aperture and run into this issue. Is the Preview Book option WYSIWYG? Is this how I can expect the book to be printed? I would greatly appreciate your help on the matter.

K so I tried the 600 DPI one and it was a little overkill! Regardless I've found that it's best to just do the thing originally at 300 DPI, in this case with Pages it's tricking it by working with that huge canvas. I tried create Adobe PDF with High Quality Print setting, and although it was the best quality of all, for some odd reason it didn't render certain things, and at random! Really weird. I also tried my own create PDF @ 300 DPI and I checked both that file (which came out to around 35MB) and the one that Pages exports and they were about 99% identical.
The funny thing is that in Finder under Inspector both files show as 3900 x 3000 pixels, yet when imported into Aperture it's showing as a 50+ mega pixel file. Anyway off to bed, I'll finish the rest tomorrow. Thanks again for your help, hopefully now the book will come out as planned. =)

  • Manufacturing Quality Control

    Hi Experts
I have a customer who manufactures food products. They produces food for airlines and hospitals etc. One of the requirements is that they need to record the cooking & chilling temperature during the production process, so it can be tracked. I'm aware that we can create an unplanned inspection plan against a production order "In Process". I'm just a little unsure whether this would work?
    Thanks in advance

  • Will we see a decrease in manufacturing quality and workmanship in the new

he new i phone is way cheaper then the old one so will the quality of the product be compromised, it happened with the iphone nano when the new iodised ones came.

Please read the many threads below (and news). It is cheaper because the new one is going to be subsidized by AT&T. They are eatting the cost to get more users and Apple is not profit sharing with this one anymore.
This is also partly the reason for no Go Phone Plans for the new iPhone.
The cheaper cost to you doesn't mean lower quality. In fact, the data plan rate is a bit more for the new iPhone to offset the fact AT&T is subsidizing thus in the end, you will be paying more for the new 16GB than you would the old 16GB after 2 years.

  • Quality problem printing in Windows 8.1 with CP1215

Recently purchased new laptop with Windows 8.1 Pro.  I have had my printer for years, CP1215, via USB, without having any problems printing to it with Windows 7 Pro. I first noticed that the quality of print I receive out of my printer on the new laptop is darker.  The darkness comes from black lines going diagonally across the page.  I would estimate at approximately a 2 degree angle.  I would also estimate that the lines appear every 4th pixel row.  I have attached 2 images, printed on 2 different printers.  The one on the top is the one off of my CP1215, the one on the bottom is a color copier in my office.  I have zoomed in incredibly on the prints to show the lines.  Just never had problems with this printer in pre Windows 8.1 days.  Tried installing ljcP1215-HB-pnp-win64-en.  Tried uninstalling printer, rebooting, then installing, still same problem.  I also have another problem with printing, but suspect it is more of a Microsoft problem.  My laptop thinks a network printer goes offline, stopping and restarting the print spooler service seems to fix that.  I had to make a .bat file on my desktop to do it, it happens at least 2 times in an 8 hr work day.

Hi paulie99, Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! I understand the printer isn't printing properly from Windows 8.I will be happy to help you. Check your printer driver settings. 1. On the File menu in the software program, click Print.2. Select the driver, and then click Properties or Preferences.3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.4. In the Type is or Size is list box, select the correct media type or size. Set the quality to ImageREt 2400. I have provided a document to install the Windows print driver to see if that makes a difference.Installing the Printer Software in Windows 8.1 for a USB or Network Connection. For the network printer I would setup a static IP address. Please let me know the results if you are still having issues. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.Have a great weekend!

  • Disappointed with the apparently decline of quality...

I posted a similar message elsewhere, but I'm really getting irritated with the quality I'm seeing from RIM as problems persist. To summarize, I am the BlackBerry administrator for a large organization. Originally we had the 7250 and 7130e devices on Verizon. We made the switch to AT&T and picked up the 8300 and eventually the 8310. Since we've gone to the 8xxx model BlackBerry devices, we have experienced nothing but problems. I never thought I'd say it, but to be blunt about it, the Curve really is a piece of junk. It was extraordinarily rare to see any problems with the old phones we had through Verizon.
Time and time again we see device failures and problems. When we get replacements, these replacements often have more problems. For example, things we've seen very recently:
Several Curves have randomly died. The screen goes black, but the LED continues to blink red. Attempts to wipe or restore the device are not successful.
The paint on the backplate wears off very easily.
One of the first Curves we received had an "r" key that was stuck and didn't function.
Just last week, yet another replacement we received (for one of the BB's that went blank with the blinking LED) arrived with an "L" key that sticks. The user has to apply significantly greater pressure to this key in order for it to work.
A Curve arrived out of the box with a trackball that didn't work.
One device arrived with a bad battery.
The USB ports on several of the Curves have stopped working.
Two Curves even showed up fresh out of the box with light scratches on their screens.
Up until last month, we were a paying Tx support subscriber. We have since opted to not renew our subscription because at this point, we're not entirely sure if BlackBerry is a worthwhile solution anymore (and even the quality of support we received from this subscription degraded over time). I used to be a die-hard BlackBerry fan, don't get me wrong, but something's changed. I suspect it might be that RIM has become overly comfortable with their position in the market. That's a mistake, because times have changed. BlackBerry solutions are very easily replaceable now -- RIM, you aren't the only working solution anymore. I've already been directed by management to look into the other solutions out there to see which would be best. I don't necessarily like the idea of switching, but if this is the direction RIM is going in, Apple or Nokia might be better options.
Not that anyone from RIM probably cares, but if someone from RIM actually reads this... please, square yourselves away. Address whatever the issues are over there and let's see the quality I've come to expect from you. I'd really prefer to stick with the solution we have in place already, but all of these issues are not making that any easier. This whole mess has made me look bad to my superiors because I am the guy who gets stuck with having to tell the chairman of the board that we have to replace his BlackBerry yet again.

How many BB devices, do you support, a couple dozen or so?

  • "New Message" opens instead of the message received.

    Hi,
Hope you guys are doing alright!
When I receive a new text message and try to open it, I get redirected to the "New Message" box. Hence, I have to press "Cancel" before being able to read the newly received text. How come? And how to I get rid of this feature?
    Cheers,
    Nick

First close the Messages app. Then double tap the home button, find the Messages app and swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app, just above the icon. Then try a quick reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. See if it works correctly then.

  • Table for 'Yes/No' to Vendor Quality Certificate?

    Dear all,
While doing GR against Purchase Order, there is a field under 'Purchase Order Data' which asks "Cert. enclosed?'. Is it standard field or customized one?
In front of "Cert. enclosed?' field a drop down is provided with two options-Yes and No.
Are these YES/NO get stored in any standard table?
When I saw Technical information of this particular field, I got Field Name: ANSWER & TABLE: QCERT_MIGO.
Edited by: Sagar Irabatti on Oct 20, 2011 9:27 AM

    Hi Sagar,
That field is purely std one..
f you activated QM in procurement and certificate receipt is a must in Define Control Keys and Define Keys for Certificate Processing, then system will propose a field to enter whether you received the certificate or not.
If the certificate is not received and you entered No during GR, then the inspection will be updated with "certificate not received" and you cannot proceed further.
Once you receive the certificate you can up date the status in QC52, which will update the status in quality inspection that certificate received so that it will allow further process.
    Please check following :
SPRO >> QM >> QM In logistics >> QM in procurement >> define key for certificate processing >>
select certificate type you assigned and see its details >> there will be tab for No certif. confirmation at GR , you remove the tick from this tab, system will show certificate confirmation tabs at MIGO.
    i hope you are clear
I will check and update the table and field
Just check JEST table its updating or not
    Regards
    Siva
