Many dynamic series in BusinessGraphics

Hi all:
I got a List form RFC. I want to show in a pie chart.
I can't sure the List size.
My idea is dynamic add attribute, and create element.
But it does't work.
my code is like this
List list = wdContext.currentZmtk_Hr_Demo_InputElement().modelObject().getOutput().getIt_Depart();
int a = list.size();
IWDNodeInfo rootNodeInfo = wdContext.getNodeInfo();
IWDNodeInfo categoryNodeInfo = rootNodeInfo.getChild("category");
for (int i = 0; i < list.size(); i++) {
     categoryNodeInfo.addAttribute("seriesValue"+(i+1), "ddic:com.sap.dictionary.double");
     Zmtk_Hr_01 z = (Zmtk_Hr_01) list.get(i);
     String category = z.getDepart();
     short number = z.getNumber();
     ICategoryElement ele = wdContext.createCategoryElement();
     wdContext.nodeCategory().addElement(ele);
     ele.setCategorytext(category);
     ele.setAttributeValue("seriesValue"+(i+1),(double) number+"");
     //ele.setSeriesValue((double) number);
I know this is wrong.
Could anyone show me what to do?

Hi Allen,
1. Have you executed RFC as follows:
wdContext.currentZmtk_Hr_Demo_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
wdContext.nodeOutput().invalidate();
Because only after execute you will get output in to your modal node.
2. I have not worked in dynamic programming much but i believe that code
categoryNodeInfo.addAttribute("seriesValue", "ddic:com.sap.dictionary.double");
must be before for loop. And for setting data into this attribute inside for loop code will be
ele.setAttributeValue("seriesValue",(double) number+"");
Regards,
Gopal

  • Dynamic series in flash chart & color specified for each series

    Example of data:
    Date     Series 1     Series 2     Series 3     Series 4     Series 5     Series 6     Series 7     Series 8
    A     12     22     23     22     22     10     10     10
    B     10     9     55     8     8     20     20     20
    C     55     2     5     88     5     15     15     15
    In excel, I can get a stacked horizontal bar chart with the numbers of different series stacked and it is easy to specify the color for each series (it works with Dephi aslo).
    I use a PL/SQL to generate the dynamic series for the chart. And in my application, I need to show some serires with the same color (group of series, each has a specified color). One of the solution I am trying is to input a fixed color sequence and loop it many times in the custom color theme and then insert dummy series into the SQLS. But this could be a disaster while the number of group goes up.
    Anyone has better idea on this? Or is this a limiation of apex?
    Thanks.

    As I tried, apex can support 300 series at most. Dynamic series here is not a good solution still.

  • Dynamic Series creation for Plot Chart

    Hi,
    I am using a plot chart which takes data from an external XML file.
    Based on certain fields in the data, I create 3 different plot series.
    I use a Combo box to show different plot series based on the selected value from it.
    I am placing another Combo box
    How can do the below task:
    I need to create some dynamic series based on some node elements in the series for which the chart is currently shown.
    I create another Combo box to show the above generated plot series based on the selected value from it.

  • Start NetWeaver 7.10 with many dynamic WP fails

    Hello,
    we have upgraded a system to Netweaver 7.10 and are now testing the possibilities of dynamic Workprocesses, since they are very interesting to us. According to the SAP, a max. number of 600 dynamic Workprocesses is possible.
    We can configure up to 240 Workprocesses (rdisp/wp_max_no=240) and start the application server without any problems.
    If we configure over 240 dynamic Workprocesses (e.g. rdisp/wp_max_no=241 or more), the dispatcher fails with the following error message:

    No matter which trace we turn on, there is no more information than this.

    Hi André,
    how many WP will really use is not sure yet. Right now we are just testing the usage of those dynamic WP, since our main system is not upgraded yet.
    On our productive system we have 9 application server with about 600 Users on each server. Additionally we have quite a lot of RFC-load coming in from outside, with tendency rising.
    I try to explain a bit of our "problem":
    We are a bank, therefore specially days like the first day of a new quarter or a new year is tricky. On those days the nightly processing might run into the morning and the rfc load is very high. On those days it would be very helpful to be able to have more WP available.
    I am sure you - as a customer of a bank - would not be very happy if you wouldn't be able to use your online banking on those days, which could happen if not enough WP are available at peak time.
    In addition to that, we think about reducing the number of our application servers to not only reduce administration overhead but also to get a better spreading of load on our DB2-Members and Host-Lpars. This is only possible if we are able to configure more than 100 WP per server.
    I hope this gave you a little insight.
    Greetings,
    Silke

  • Error When Dismissing Many Dynamic Tabs

    Hi All,
    In the name of expanding knowledge, I bring another question.  We're using JDev/JHS 11.1.1.4 and our project is a migration from JHS 11.1.1.3.  This question relates to how JHeadStart deals with the open and close events associated with dynamic tabs.
    Our use case is that there are many top-level groups listed in a menu that can open as their own dynamic tab.  We support having multiple tabs open at once.  We're running into an issue where after closing multiple tabs quickly, we receive an error like the following:
    <LifecycleImpl> <_handleException> ADF_FACES-60098:Faces lifecycle receives unhandled exceptions in phase APPLY_REQUEST_VALUES 2
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: fromIndex(0) > toIndex(-1)

    Based on what I've seen, the number of active tabs gets decremented before the tab is actually closed.  This sometimes requires closing a tab more than once (which decrements the number of active tabs to less than 0).  Then, when trying to open a new tab, the number of active tabs is passed as an argument to the subList mentioned in the above stack.  If the number is less than 0, the above exception occurs.
    The following is a variation on the above, the only difference is if you dismiss all but one tab, then attempt to open a new one, the following error is thrown.

    There's not much info on this out there and it seems to pertain to internal libraries so I thought I'd ask for guidance here.  My first thought was to override the method that passes the number of active tabs to catch if the value is less than zero, but that doesn't account for the second instance.  Has anyone run into this before?
    Many thanks,

    Hi Steven,
    I can only take credit for your suspicion :)
    Your concern was raised on our end as well.  The tab unique identifier is cleared in the base class from which our override stems...
        tab.setTaskflowId(getEmptyTaskFlowId());
        tab.setParameters(null);
        tab.setUniqueIdentifier(null);
        tab.setTitle("");
        tab.setActive(false);
        tab.setActivated(false);
    From my observations, it seemed that the Tab Unique Identifier inherited its value from the group name if one was not present (which is why I felt the fix worked).  Is this not so?  In either case, we saw that the error was preceded by null tabs being passed into the method, which would decrement numActive but leave the same tabs open in the UI.  Hence when finally closing all the tabs, index would be an undesirable value like -1, -2, etc..
    Thanks,

  • Buckets dynamic- series

    Hello all,
    I am using Oracle 11g release 2.
    I want to generate he buckets dynamically in chart.
    For instance, sales figure is between 1 to 30. I want the number of buckets to be always be 5. If I need to be between 10-30 out of 1-30, I want evenly distributed in 5 intervals. That is 10,15,20,25,30.
    If my series is 20-30 and number of buckets is 5 then 22,24,26,28,30.
    Can it be done in single query.
    Basically I am trying to identify the buckets in charts. it will always be 5 buckets, but based on the lower and upper limit the buckets has to be obtained. Please let me know how to attain this.
    Thanks in advance,
    jaggyam

  • ADF Line Graph with dynamic series - can do ?

    I want to implement a drill-down from a high level line graph into a lower level line graph. The master graph may have 4 series in it, and each of these 4 series may have 6 - 8 different sub-series that need to be shown in the lower level graph (so up to 30 in all sub-series). Rather than create 4 of the lower level graphs, what I'd like to be able to do is create the lower level graph once using a VO which reads the master graph context. The definition of a graph model however in the ADF at first glance doesn't appear to cater for this. Have others done this ?
    Thinking that if I could:
    a) define the detail VO so that it used generic columns for the series amounts
    b) was able to override the series attribute name/label used for the legend etc. by way of code (backing bean?) for each series again based on context
    c) was able to optionally hide a series that was not needed (as defined by the generic detail VO) for a given master context
    ... then maybe I'd have a chance. But b) and c) don't look catered for.
    Anyone?
    Using 11.1.

    For the record, I gave this a go, and was able to get it working satisfactorily. There was no way as far as I could tell to set the visibility of a series. So essentially, what I've been able to do is set the series label to blank, set the line width to 1 (min, doesn't seem to honor 0), and the color to white to match the background of the chart ... for those series that are superfluous in a given chart render. It works fine except for the fact that if you've used the highlight rollover series effect, if you move the mouse over the legend area where the "hiding" series are, you get a bit of flashing on the legend entries that are displayed.
    Ideally, we'd have a way of actually taking these out entirely. If there's a way to do it, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
    Thanks.

  • Reports with many Dynamic Parameter

    Hi
    I created a report with 5 dynamic parameter in CR XI. There are total 6 SQL command . First one is used for the report purpose and rest is for parameter of the report. There SQL commands are not linked to each other. Performnce of the report is very slow. Data is coming fine on the report. The Command one is returning around 50000 records.
    Paramter are used in record selction to further filter the records
    Please help how i can increase the performance .

  • ALternation hierachy for Period ROll DYnamic time series.

    Hi
    What is custom dynamic time series in period dimensions.
    How it is to be build ?any insights that would help me to build in the planning application to build custom dynamic series capability.
    Please guide me how can this be achieved.
    Thanks

    Thanks Mehmet that was really helpful.!!
    Not sure if you can call it better, but I have developed the following alternate hierarchy at a client and it worked with no issues:
    YTD(Jan): Jan (Shared Member)
    YTD(Feb): YTD(Jan)+Feb (Both shared members)
    YTD(Dec): YTD(Nov)+Dec
    We didn't have a QTD hieararchy, but you can use the same logic.
    Cheers,
    Mehmet
    YTD(JAN)+Feb (both are shared members) can you explain this.
    SHared member is like a pointer to primary instance of member.that would be great if you can explain this what does both are share members mean?
    and alos do these members needed to be set to dynamic ?

  • Can we catch the dynamic item value in Apex?

    Hi All,
    In my application i am using SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY_XL Function. The select list will be populated based on some product group id.
    Some times the list will be 2 or 5 based on prgr id. Now how to catch the dynamic list item name. Is it possible?
    Thanks,
    Anoo..

    Not directly. You can have two items and then dynamically switch between those two items. This can lead to other issues of cause. For example if the item value should be stored in the database, you have to decide which item to store and how to do that.
    The field type itself should not be changed. There are a lot of other things that depend on that. Possible ? Yes. Advisable? No. Check the page source text to see the difference between a select item and a normal text field. Then think if you want to set all this dynamically.
    Maybe a popup list would be better suited?
    One more point: In my experience adding too many dynamic stuff onto a page will not improve the user experience, but will decrease it. So you should carefully consider if this is something. Dynamic actions are great, but they are not always the best tool for the job.

  • Dynamic value objects in flex and coldfusion 9

    I'm writing a program for a company that does registrations for conventions and trade-shows.  The problem I'm having is that each different client wants to store different data for each show.  Most of the data is the same (attendee's name, address, etc...), but each show has some customizations that it wants to have...  So each database for each show is going to be different...
    Right now, the only way I know how to transfer data from Flex to ColdFusion is via a Value Object.  (Well, the only good way to do it, that is.)  My problem comes when a client wants a particular database customized.  I have MANY questions about this...
    1) How do I tell my Value Object what fields we've added to or changed in the database without re-writing the entire VO (in both the .AS and .CFC files) and re-compiling my program?  In other words, I need a dynamic VO that changes automatcially with the database.
    2) If there is a way to dynamically create a VO in Flex (and from a few blog posts I've seen, it seems there is a way), how do I tell CF9 what the structure of that dynamically-created VO is?  Without re-writing a bunch of .CFC files every time I add or change a field in the database, that is...
    3) How do I reference the dynamically-created fields in my Flex program?  Right now, for example, I can define a variable called attendeeInfo as type attendeeInfoVO, and then reference things like attendeeInfo.first_name, attendeeInfo.last_name, etc...  How do I reference a field programmatcially when I don't know what it's going to be called beforehand?
    4) How do I make my program display/modify those dynamically-created fields?  Right now, using the attendeeInfo example above, I can create a TextInput with an id="firstNameInput" and just say firstNameInput.text = "{attendeeInfo.first_name}".  That won't work when I have no clue how many dynamically-created fields there are, or even what kind of data they're going to store...  How do I deal with this?
    5) Is there something other than VOs that would fit this situation better?  Am I limiting myself by using VOs in the first place?  Is it just plain impossible to do this with VOs?  And if so, what are my alternatives?  I need a structured object that can be passed around with a single reference -- I absolutely DO NOT want to pass a bunch of references to a bunch of different variables -- that's why I used VOs from the very beginning.
    6) Can I simply PAY someone at Adobe for one-on-one help here?  Do they have experts that you can "buy" for a few hours?  What's the charge for that, if such a thing is available?  Or, is this problem well-explained somewhere on the Web, and I just haven't found it yet?
    I'm very confused here, and it seems like I might have to re-write a ton of code, which I'm not looking forward to...  Ugh...  I appreciate any help you can give me...
    Thanks,

    This blog post is pretty close to what I want:
    http://justinjmoses.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/flex-dynamic-bindable-value-objects/
    So there are the dynamic value objects I was looking for.  But the blog-poster is using LINQ and .Net 3.5.  I'm using ColdFusion9.
    So, how do I get ColdFusion9 to deal with that?  How do you get CF9 to recognize the fact that you've changed the VO, and deal with it appropriately?
    Thanks,
    L.

  • Remove DataGrid Header Separator dynamically

    Hello,
    Scenario: I have a DG with 3 static columns and many dynamic columns added at run time.
    I want to have one and only one header for all the dynamic columns.
    In a way it can be seen as multiple datagridColumns (without headers) in  a single dataGridColumn (with only a header). Now there is a heavy traffic between static columns and the dynamic columns. So I dont think it is possible to have two different DG's.
    My Attempts: I tried to use the HeaderSeparatorSkin to remove the header separators so as to give a feel of one single header. But since the headerseparatorskin is removed at DG level it can be either removed for all columns or for none.
    My Question: I will have to create a custom DG so as to draw separator skin for few columns and remove for others. But I am not sure how can I do that since using "headerSeparatorSkin" removes it for all columns. Can some one show me a path as to how I can accomplish this?
    A very bad way of accomplishing the above is to remove all the header separator skins and then use headerRenderer for the static columns to show a line similar to separator skin. But that is a bad way of coding I guess.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bhargav

    Thank you for the reply Flex harUI.
    If I understood right the renderer will extend a DG and will have columnns  and only one row. But the row color will not match the the row of the main DG.
    Secondly I have using a checkbox renderer to be displayed in the columns created dynamically. The data of this renderer is changing with users interaction. Thus I am not very sure if implementing a renderer inside a renderer should be a good idea.
    But I will try and use your suggestion to see if it can be used for my implementation.
    Thanks again,
    Bhargav

  • Programitically creating column series to flex chart not showing the chart

    I want to create n number of series dynamically when i run my
    application.
    where n can be any value it depends on the data which i
    retrieve from database. below i pasted the example
    ( in this example i have taken n = 4 i.e., CountMax=4 if i
    change the CountMax=6 then it should generate 6series dynamically
    after calculating the values. ). just copy the below code and paste
    it in Flex builder and run the application.
    in this example i am facing problem, chart series are not
    showing. i dont know the reason why its not showing, if anyone got
    the solutions for the problem please let me know. my actual
    requirement is to retrieve data from Salesforce account and want to
    populate the arraylist then display the chart.

  • Dynamic user events freeze user interface

    Hi all,
    I am having problem with dynamic user events.
    Dynamic user event is registered to the event structure, and many dynamic user events come in very fast, about every 30 ms. It freezes up the user interface, no response to mouse and keyboard, even after all user events finish execution.
    Any idea or work around?
    Thanks for any help.
    Anne

    Hi Anne,
    > Dynamic user event is registered to the event structure, and many dynamic user events come in very fast, about every 30 ms.
    The 30ms rate is not unreasonably fast as long as the processing for the event(s) can be completed in less than 30ms.
    What tasks are you doing in the User Event?
    For tasks that may take time to complete (like logging) you could queue up the data and send it to a consumer loop.
    > It freezes up the user interface, no response to mouse and keyboard, even after all user events finish execution.
    My *guess* here is that you got stuck in an event that never completed.
