Mapping measures of cube with data using awm

hi i am new in using analytic workspace manager i have already created dimension of a cube and mapped data into that.the i created cube now i want to map dimension into cube and aggregating values into measures.but i am unable to load data into cube and calculate the aggregate values.
that pls help me if any one knows this as this is part of my project so its very necessary to understand for me.

  • Problem while adding a new dimension in a existing cube with data in BW3.5

    Hi,
We are trying to create a new dimension with new characteristics in a existing cube. But while activating we are getting error that "InfoCube contains data; intentional changes not permitted". Can we add a new dimension in a existing cube with data in BW3.5? If it is not possible then we can take the backup and delete the data from cube and then change the cube. But my question is that, when we will transport the cube with changes to quality then will it transport successfully or same procedure needs to be done there as well.
    Regards,
    Saikat

    hi,
Adding new infoobject /dimension to the cube containing data in 3.5 is not possible.
easier solution is create a new cube similar to old and add the new dimension and proceed.
else you have to drop data and transport.

  • How to Create an Input Schedule Comparison with Data Using EVDRE

    Hello,
I try implement the scenario described in "How to Create an Input Schedule Comparison with Data Using EVDRE".
Once I am using the "Insert Function" from the panel and selecting the EVTIM function Excel crashes (see page 8 How to paper).
    Systems:
    BPC 7.0 NW SP02
    Office 2007
BPCADminClient and BPCOfficeClient up to date
    Have anyone a solution?
    Thanks
    Oktay

    Hi Oktay -
This function works in my BPC70NW SP02 system. Your issue might be that you are trying to access a TIME member that does not exist. Please make sure the offset value is a valid dimension member.
I can confirm that EVTIM does allow the offset for base members (such as 2009.MAY) as well as parent nodes (such as 2009.Q1 or 2008.TOTAL)... BUT...the offset result of the EVTIM function needs to be a valid dimension member!

  • How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

    Hi,
How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats.  I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
    ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file.  Is this possible?  I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
is there a way to do this through these packages?
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.data
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.definition
Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?
Thank you in advance for any insights.

Then I get an error (which is not unexpected)
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportDefControllerException: The field was not found.---- Error code:-2147213283 Error code name:invalidFieldObject
How do I add one of the table.SetDataFields()  to my report to be displayed?

  • Adding new infoobject to cube with data

    Hi experts
Our cube contains data and is fully compressed (E-table), there is are no requests in F-table.
We need to add 2 key figures and 2 characteristics.
The characteristics get a new dimension table.
We don't use the remodel technique. We add these new infoobjects.
There is no need for a reload of historical data for these new objects.
We only need data starting from the first load date after the changes occured.
Are there any errors in this approach?
    Thanks

    Thomas,
When you are adding a new dimension to your cube - you are adding a primary key to your E and F Fact tables - therefore when your transport goes it - it will reorganize your cube tables.
For this - assuming that you are collecting the changes in the normal way and not changing any settings ....
    1. Check the UNDO table space in target system , the UNDO table space should have enought free space available that will be greater than the size of your E and F Fact table sizes - because , the way the transport moves is that a copy of the table is taken in the undo table space in the database and then the tables are adjusted - if your undo table space is insufficient - the transport will fail after some time
    2. If this is a big cube - then the transport will take time to go in - if BASIS imports transport requests in sequence - then this transport will hold the queue and might delay others whi have smaller transports.... make sure that your transport goes in last if there are others waiting for you to complete
    3. Also inform BASIS that the transport is going to take time - sometimes long running transports can get the BASIS team excited :-)
These are not technical but some bases that can be covered in advance...
    Hope this helps.,...

  • Populating BW datasource with data using Webservice without PI (=XI)

    Hi all,
I have got BW datasource and I want to be able to use external Webservice's method to populate my data source with data.
I have created client proxy in BW ( se80 --> Enterprise Services --> Client Proxy ) for my wsdl and logical port in SOAMANGER for my proxy.
    I have also created datasource.
Now I need to use one of the methods of the Webservice (proxy ) to populate my datasource with data. This is the bit I am struggling with.
I had a look here on SND but I could not find anything useful. Can you please advice ? Any examples ?
Please let me know whatever you know and maybe helpful.
Feel free to ask questions if I am not detailed enough in my description of the problem.
    Regards

I have now been able to call a method of the Webservice by writing the simple code:
    DATA:
Reference variables for proxy and exception class
      lo_clientproxy     TYPE REF TO ZCO_ICAMPAIGN_MASTER_SERVICE,
      lo_sys_exception   TYPE REF TO cx_ai_system_fault,
Structures to set and get message content
       ls_request         TYPE ZICAMPAIGN_MASTER_SERVICE_GE25,
       ls_response        TYPE ZICAMPAIGN_MASTER_SERVICE_GE24.
Populate the Request of the SOAP Object
    ls_request-CAMPAIGN_ID = '74500'.
****Create the Proxy and Call it.
    CREATE OBJECT lo_clientproxy.
    TRY.
        CALL METHOD lo_clientproxy->GET_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_SUMMARY
          EXPORTING
            input  = ls_request
          IMPORTING
            output = ls_response.
      CATCH cx_ai_system_fault INTO lo_sys_exception.
      Error handling
    ENDTRY.
    COMMIT WORK.

  • Custom Measure - Unable to Submit Data Using Input Schedule

We have an application that requires storage of data on a job-to-date basis.  To accommodate this, the application was changed to a YTD application and 3 custom measures were added:
    JTD (base data)
YTD_JOBS (offsets current period against last month of prior period)
PERIODIC_JOBS (offsets current period against prior period)
Everything is working and the measures resolve to the correct values.  The system also completes logic (advanced and dimension) properly.  Data may also be submitted through an Import process.
However, we are unable to submit data using an input schedule.  We consistently get a "no data to refresh" error message.  When the same schedule is used in the older, periodic version of the application, the submission works as expected.
I suspect the problem is the naming of the custom measures is the root cause.  I have been unable to find documentation (BPC 5.1M) related to custom measures for 5.1.  Any help resolving this issue and/or tracking down custom measures documentation for v5.1 is much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Joost,
I believe what you are describing is the root of the issue.  The application is set to YTD as the data input type both in the web admin section and in the database table.  The problem is that JTD is the input member for this application -- we are loading job-to-date values instead of year-to-date.
It seems that BPC does not understand JTD as a "base level" measure fort the input method.  I have not been able to find a table in the database that defines PERIODIC and YTD.  My hope was to add JTD to the settings.
Unless someone else has made something like this work, I suspect that I'll have to use YTD as the ID of the base member and restructure the custom measures.  We did not start this way since the user community thinks in terms of JTD data.

  • Deleting requests from Cube with code using infopackage with two targets

    hi experts,
    Working on BW 3.5.
I am creating a process chain to load from a table in a source system to two Infocubes.
In the start routines of the update rules depending on the date of load, if it is not the last day of month InfoCube A will be loaded with data and InfoCube B will have Datapackage deleted but a request will still load but will contain no data.
And vice versa if it is the last day of month.
In InfoCube A I only want to retain a rolling 15 days of data and have entered a "Delete Overlapping Request from Cube" step.
    In the "Deletion-selections" of this step I have added a "Request Selection through Routine" and put in the following code;
      del_date = sy-datum - 15.
      loop at l_t_request_to_delete.
        if l_t_request_to_delete-timestamp+0(8) GT del_date.
          delete l_t_request_to_delete.
        endif.
      endloop.
My question is, how can I ensure this delete code will only work for InfoCube A, as I only want the rollings 15 days of data in here, in Infocube B I want to store all the requests that are loaded here for the end of month.

  • Time frames are not accurate with data used?

Why does the time frame of Data used  not correctly  reflect the same on my bill?

Hi Critch! Thats a great question. The difference in times may be reflective of difference in time zone or usage not reported while on an extended network. Are the times off by a few minutes or several hours? Does this happen with voice and messaging usage as well?

  • Loading data with dates using SQL*Loader

    Dear everyone
I am currently trying to load some data containing dates using SQL*Loader.
For termination of fields I have been using ^ because I have some book titles which contain " and ' as part of their title. I found that the TO_DATE function did not seem to work using ^ instead of ". Would I be correct? I think the Oracle manual says that " must be used.
After some Web research I eventually amended my control file to as follows:
    load data
    infile 'h:\insert_statements\22_insert_into_SCAN_FILE_INFO.txt'
    REPLACE
    into table SCAN_FILE_INFO
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '^'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
    (scan_id, scan_filename
    file_format_id
    orig_scanning_resolution_dpi
    scanner_id, scanner_operator_id
    scanning_date "TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')"
    original_map_publication_id
    reprint_publication_id)
A simple line of data is as follow:
    280001, ^1910 - London^, 270001, 400, 250001, 260001, "TO_DATE('2007-06-06', 'YYYY-MM-DD')", 200019,
    The final column being null.
However when I attempt that I get the following error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO, column SCANNING_DATE.
ORA-01841: (full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0
If I change the scanning_date part to:
    scanning_date "EXPRESSION TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
    or
    scanning_date "CONSTANT TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
    I get the error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO, column SCANNING_DATE.
    ORA-00917: missing comma
As soon as I do the following:
    scanning_date "EXPRESSION, TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
    or
    scanning_date "CONSTANT, TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
I get too many values error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO.
    ORA-00913: too many values
I also tested out scanning_date DATE "YYYY-MM-DD", but that just gave the same ORA-01841 error message as above.
I must be doing something very simple which is wrong but I cannot figure it out.
    Kind regards
    Tim

And why do you have scanning date as "TO_DATE('2007-06-06', 'YYYY-MM-DD')" in your infile? All you need is 2007-06-06. If you can not change infile generation code, use:
    load data
    infile 'h:\insert_statements\22_insert_into_SCAN_FILE_INFO.txt'
    REPLACE
    into table SCAN_FILE_INFO
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '^'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
    (scan_id, scan_filename
    file_format_id
    orig_scanning_resolution_dpi
    scanner_id, scanner_operator_id
    scanning_date "TO_DATE(REPLACE(REPLACE(:scanning_date,'TO_DATE('),'''YYYY-MM-DD'')'), 'YYYY-MM-DD')"
    original_map_publication_id
    reprint_publication_id)SY.

Each time I try to run the page... the report gives me the following error:
    failed to parse SQL query:
    ORA-00904: "OCT": invalid identifier
It looks like a date format issue, but I have tried several things to resolve it and it still does not work... What can I do?

I think you have a problem with format masks.
Check the format masks that are used in P1_STARTDATE and P2_STARTDATE

  • Adding new characteristics to cube with data

    Hi Gurus,
i need to add some characteristics to a cube already in production, this cube is customized version of material stocks/movements cube (0ic_c03).
i am looking for a way to add the new characteristics without having to do reinitialisation (opening stock,...), i am thinking about a loopback process but how do i manage to get the new characteristics populated for the historical data?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
If you want to load historial data, you must take ECC down time and re-intialization is required.Becasue you are adding new object in Cube and for that you need to change the Update rules, then need to load historical data, so without down time and reinitialization it is not possible.
    Check like below.
You have data in PSA, so try to delete data from Cube and then load from PSA. Because you may write code in Update rules on;y I think. So in that case, it may work.
    Thanks
    Reddy

  • Fill a pdf form with data using Java code

    Hi,
Modern formats of Acrobat ".pdf" files allows to define form fields.
    I have a datasource, let's say in a database.
I want to fill my ".pdf" with my database-stored data automatically, and want to write Java code for that.
    1. What is the best way to achieve this ?
    2. Is it necessary to install Acrobat Distiller server and if so what web services should I invoke ? Where is the doc ?
    3. Are there efficient Java libraries to do so ?
Thank you for helping... As ever, this is kind of an emergency case
    Have a good day.
    Phil

Take a look at the FDF Toolkit for Java:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/fdftoolkit.html
That will allow you to, through Java, construct an FDF that contains all your form data.  You then add a reference to your "template" PDF file in the FDF as well and send the FDF to the client.  Acrobat will open the FDF, see the reference to the PDF, open the PDF and then merge any data contained in the FDF with the PDF.

  • Process chain for updating a cube with last month's data everyday.

    Hi everybody,
I need a suggestion on designing the process chain. I have the cube Zxx_xx. I will explain my requirement with an example. Suppose I uploaded the cube with data up to 201103. Each night in May, I want to upload the cube with April's data. So each night the previous request should be deleted. When May finishes, this time, each night I need to upload the cube with May's data. I handled everything except deleting the data from PSA. I need the data loaded in the cube stay at PSA. In this case the request including data till 201103,  the request loaded for April, and finally in June, I need to see the request loaded for May. In the last step of the process chain I added the process for deleting PSA data choosing my infosource, but I have no option for deleting the requests where I have uploaded from same infopackage with same selections. Please help handling this situation.
    thanks in advance.
    Yasemin.

    hi,
You can achieve this by loading the cube through two different DTP's.
DTP1 to have in the routine to pick data for month-2 i.e. in june it picks up April data.
DTP2 to restrict the month in routine to month-1 i.e. in june it picks up May data.
Now the design of process chain will be as follows:
process chain to have an step "Decision Between Multiple Alternatives "
in this decision step you can write formula to check if sy-datum is 01, first of every month.
    if step: formula
    ( RIGHT( 2, Current Date ) = '01' )
On first of every month load for month-2 as well as month-1 and delete overlapping request for month-1. Variant described below.  DTP1, DTP2 and then Delete overlapping request step
Else part of Decision Between Multiple Alternatives will be executed for all other days
load only month-1 and delete overlapping request from cube. DTP2 and then Delete overlapping request step.
in the pc there is variant "Delete overlapping request"
in that choose variant type DTP, give the technical name of DTP2 and save it.
this way the whole data loading will be automated and you need not intervene to delete data manually,
    regards,
    Arvind.
