"mapping null reg" compiler error LV2009

Opens fine in LV 8.6, but gives "Compiler error. mapping null reg" error in LV 2009.
If you get rid of the 2D transpose, the code compiles fine.

Compiler error out of regs, reg 1239

I've installed LV2009 and trying to open version 8.6 vi.
I am getting a pop-up message "Compiler error. REport this problrm to Nationa Instruments Tech Support. out of regs - no spill candidate found, reg 1239!"
32-bit Labview client on Win 7 64 bit and Win server 2008 64 bit give same error.

After converting and testing the problematic VI in LV 2009 sp1, I found that the code that worked for me since LV 8.2 and 8.6 is bugged now.
I am using an array of waveforms. I apply "Split 1D Array", followed by "Decimate 1D Array" library functions. The resulted array is stripped of the waveform information in LV2009.
I isolated the bugged piece in the attached VI.
Is it a bug?

No compiler error when assigning null to a primitive with ? :

In 5.0, the statement
int a = true ? null : 0;
does not produce a compiler error. In 1.4 it produced an error stating "Incompatible conditional operand types int and null". I understand that auto-boxing complicates the compiler's job here, but isn't it still possible for the compiler to error on this statement?

That's perfectly legit in 1.5 because of autoboxing.
The compiler looks at the expression
true?null:0and needs to determine the type produced by it. 0 can be autoboxed to an Integer and null is a valid Integer value, so that expression produces an Integer.
Then, it tries to auto-unbox the Integer to assign it to the primitive int. And the same thing happens as always happens when you try to auto-unbox null: you get a NullPointerException. :)

Compile error import java.util.map$entry

Hi,
I am trying to compile code which imports the following package
import java.util.Map$Entry.
The error thrown up is : cant resolve symbol Map$Entry. Why is there a $ in the package import path and is there some configuration required to compile the file.
I am not allowed to change the code. Does anyone have an idea on how this problem can be solved.

Changing the import should probably help compile the code, but without changing the import .. need to check. This is just from what i remember now. Lets see if anyone else comments on this.

Compile errors importing Map$Entry

Hi,
I trying to compile code written by my client which uses the following syntax
import java.util.Map$Entry.
This throws a compilation error :
cant resolve symbol class Map$Entry
package : java.util
The same compile at the client side works. Am i missing some configuration. Also why is the path defined as Map$Entry instead of Map.Entry.
any help would be greatly appreciated

What you're client is trying to do is import a nested class. To do this you use the syntax:
import A.Enclosing.Nested;Now you can refer to the nested class without refering to the enclosing class (i.e Nested n = new Nested();)
However - Some compilers don't like this, and I don't like it. You shouldn't import nested classes directly like this.

FPGA Compile Error due to error in mapping process

Received the following error while trying to compile a FPGA VI on a PC. (Refer to attachment for details). My PC has a fresh installation of English Windows 2000 with sp4. No other software is installed except LabVIEW 8.2 & FPGA Module 8.2 & NI-RIO.
I have checked this KB and confirmed that regional settings are English. But the error still exists. I tried compiling the same VI on my laptop with Windows 2000 sp4 and it was successful. Can someone help me? Thank you very much!

Hello,
The key will of course be to isolate differences between your machines.
I wonder if the following more specific language setting could be the lingering problem. LabVIEW is a non-unicode program, and there is a language setting in Windows (at least XP) specifically for non-unicode programs. Try the following (or it's Win2K equivalent) if you haven't already:
0. Open "Control Panel"
1. Open the "Regional and Language Options"
2. On the Advanced tab, choose English (United States) from the drop-down menu under the top section "Language for non-Unicode Programs"
- This language setting is different from the setting on the "Regional Options" tab.
Any other differences you can isolate would be potentially insightful - if you have the same software versions installed in the same order on both machines, we may be looking for something a bit subtle, such as the suspected language setting.

Compiler error - Error:null

I am attempting to create a process that invokes an external web service. Nothing fancy, just take input to the process assign it, transform it to the format the web service needs, invoke the web service, assign the response, and reply to the calling process.
When I attempt to compile the process I get a compiler error of "Error:null" If I double click the error it shows me the bpel source and highlights the firs line (comment automatically added by JDeveloper).
Any direction or information would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder, if it's because our test site is http and our live
site is https.
Is that why it can't connect to the RDS server?
I don't think http or https matters. The key is to get your
production server configured as an RDS server in Report Builder.
To do so, open Report Builder. Click on the
Edit menu and then on
Configure RDS Servers. Click on the "+" sign or,
alternatively, select the option to
Add RDS Server. Enter the connection details of your
production server. You would of course have modified the settings
on your production server beforehand to accept a connection from
your test server.

I ended up uninstalling every java this and that.. and tomcat.
Then installing only the j2sdk1.4.0_03 SDK.
Then set up JAVA_HOME for all users and modified the path with full path to the bin (c:\j2sdk1.4.0_03\bin)
Lastly I reinstalled tomcat and, voila, everything was working.
It can be quite maddening when you THINK you did everything by the boook and something doesn't work. When you replied and confirmed that I was on the right track.. uninstalling and trying yet again became les frustrating an option.

Error while running ejbc. Fatal error from EJB Compiler ---- Error while pr

Hi!
I was deploying a test application for a session bean with sun 1 studio 5 and I started getting this message while deploying.
I had tested the bean previously and I had no problems.
I found this in the sun app server 7 release notes, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do...
"Deployment of CMP beans fails.
The following error is thrown because there are no <query-params> entries in the container-managed persistence (CMP) bean in sun-ejb-jar.xml file:
Error while running ejbc. Fatal error from EJB Compiler ---- Error while processing CMP beans.
Solution
Even if it isn't necessary for the CMP beans, add the query-params tag for finders in the sun-ejb-jar.xml file with the empty parameters."

JDev 1013 Error: Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal except

I've a class I compiled used in JDev 10.1.2.1.
Now I try to compile it with JDev 10.1.3 but I get an error :

The following produces an error on the last call to getWrap.

Is there anything in the declaration of getWrap to signify that S can be a super class of T?

From what you are saying, in this case, it appears the T extends S adds no value.
Using explicit paratised types is a bit like casting, in this case casting to a super class.
My preference would be for
Wrap<Map> map3 = getWrap((Map) new HashMap());I have noted before that Java does not consider a desired return type. Some languages do, but imagine this is hard to get right. What I imagined was a return type of getWrap(new HashMap()) of something like Wrap<? super HashMap>.
I have seen generic work very well for return types in other places, however the return type was determined by the IDE rather then the compiler.

We are trying to make an project where we can make a person register in our data base & after which he/she can search for other user.
The logged in user can modify his/her own data but can view other ppl's data.
We are in a phase of registering the user & that's where we are stuck. The problem is that after the login screen when we hit register (OK- button) the data are not getting entered in the data base.
Can u please help me??
I am using "jdk1.3' - studnet's edition.

I have wrote a PL/SQL Stored Procedure to read a couple of table values and then output some data to a file, when I create the procedure on the database I get the following compilation error:

Compilation error in PL/SQL

Please find the strange query situation in PLSQL.
If i run the query without PLSQL block (i.e. declar begin end) it runs well and insert data
in table but if put the same query in PLSQL block it gives compilation error.

In some versions of Oracle (certainly all of the 8.x versions and earlier, and possibly some of the earlier 9 versions) the SQL parsers in the SQL engine and in the PL/SQL engine were different. Some features that worked directly in SQL did not work in PL/SQL. Scalar sub-queries were one of those things.
You have three options. You can try to re-write the insert statement to eliminate the PL/SQL unimplemented feature. You can create a view in the database for the SELECT part of the insert statement then use that view in the insert. finally, and least desirable, you can build the whole statment as a string, and use EXECUTE IMMEDIATE to run it in PL/SQL.
