Mapping to the same table through multiple references

Hello,
I'm trying to map aggregate fields (from my target) to mutlitple tables (back on my source), but am hung up because I need multiple references to the same table (basically a lookup values table) in my target. I believe that the problem lies in not being able to reference (in the mapping workbench at least) the same table more than once (such as through an alias, or otherwise defining multiple references) in the multi-tables tab. Is there a way around this, or some other approach to mapping it that I can take?
Thank you,
John

Not exactly sure what you are trying to do, perhaps listing the object model and data model would help.
If you are having trouble mapping the aggregate in the Mapping Workbench you may be able to workaround the problem through using a descriptor or project amendment method and defining the mapping through the code API.

  • How do I sum across the same table in multiple sheets?

    So I'm trying to figure out an annoying problem.
    I have a largish (100's) amount of data with each collection being a table in a sheet, one sheet per data collection. This means I have 100's of sheets, each with the same table name and layout. Each sheet has several hundred data points in it.
    How do I do a sum across all of the same table in all the sheets?
    For example I want to do Sum('Data Sheet Number *'::'Table 1'::A1) to get a sum of everything in all the A1 cells of all the sheets named 'Data Sheet Number ' followed by anything (I'm using the star in the same way one would do it in a shell...)
    Thanks!

  • LookUp to the same table with multiple conditions

    Hi,
    I nead to do a lookup to the same table in the flow but with diffrent quieres, each query contains it's own 'where'.
    Can I do it somehow in one look up or do I have to use a few ?
    select a from table where a=1
    select b from table where c=3
    Thanks

    Hi,
      Using multiple lookups will be a cleaner approach. If you are using multiple lookups on the same table consider using Cache transform. Refer the below link for details on Cache transform
    Lookup and Cache Transforms in SQL Server Integration Services
    Alternatively if you want to go ahead with single look up , you may have to modify the SQL statement in the Lookup accordingly to return the proper value. In you case it may be
    select a,b from table where a=1 or c=3
    Note : Consider the above as a pseudo code. This needs to be tested and applied based on your requirement.

  • SLT Replication for the same table from Multiple Source Systems

    Hello,
    With HANA 1.0 SP03, it is now possible to connect multiple source systems to the same SLT Replication server and from there on to the same schema in SAP HANA - does this mean same table as well? Or will it be different tables?
    My doubt:
    Consider i am replicating the information from KNA1 from 2 Source Systems - say SourceA and SourceB.
    If I have different records in SourceA.KNA1 and SourceB.KNA1, i believe the records will be added during the replication and as a result, the final table has 2 different records.
    Now, if the same record appears in the KNA1 tables from both the sources, the final table should hold only 1 record.
    Also, if the same Customer's record is posted in both the systems with different values, it should add the records.
    How does HANA have a check in this situation?
    Please throw some light on this.

    Hi Vishal,
    i suggest you to take a look to SAP HANA SPS03 Master Guide. There is a comparison table for the three replication technologies available (see page 25).
    For Multi-System Support, there are these values:
    - Trigger-Based Replication (SLT Replication): Multiple source systems to multiple SAP  HANA instances (one  source system can be connected to one SAP HANA schema only)
    So i think that in your case you should consider BO Data Services (losing real-time analytics capabilities of course).

  • Web Analysis : populate the same table with multiple data sources

    Hi folks,
    I would like to know if it is possible to populate a table with multiple data sources.
    For instance, I'd like to create a table with 3 columns : Entity, Customer and AvgCostPerCust.
    Entity and Customer come from one Essbase, AvgCostPerCust comes from HFM.
    The objective is to get a calculated member which is Customer * AvgCostPerCust.
    Any ideas ?
    Once again, thanks for your help.

    I would like to have the following output:
    File 1 - Store 2 - Query A + Store 2 - Query B
    File 2 - Store 4 - Query A + Store 4 - Query B
    File 3 - Store 5 - Query A + Store 5 - Query B
    the bursting level should be give at
    File 1 - Store 2 - Query A + Store 2 - Query B
    so the tag in the xml has to be split by common to these three rows.
    since the data is coming from the diff query, and the data is not going to be under single tag.
    you cannot burst it using concatenated data source.
    But you can do it, using the datatemplate, and link the query and get the data for each file under a single query,
    select distinct store_name from all-stores
    select * from query1 where store name = :store_name === 1st query
    select * from query2 where store name = :store_name === 2nd query
    define the datastructure the way you wanted,
    the xml will contain something like this
    <stores>
    <store> </store> - for store 2
    <store> </store> - for store 3
    <store> </store> - for store 4
    <store> </store> - for store 5
    <stores>
    now you can burst it at store level.

  • Load Data from a table on one server's database, to the same table structure in multiple server databases

    Hi,
    I have a situation where i have to load data from one server/database table to multiple servers/databases.
    Example:
    I need to load data from dbo.TABLE_A  (on Server: Server_A & Database: Database_A)  to the same table on the list of server databases like
    Server: Server_B , Database: Database_B
    Server: Server_C , Database: Database_C
    Server: Server_D , Database: Database_D
    Server: Server_E , Database: Database_E
    Server: Server_F , Database: Database_F
    Server: Server_G , Database: Database_G
    Server: Server_H , Database: Database_H
    so on and so forth on 250 such server database combinations.
    The table structure is the same on all the servers.
    If i make the source or destination dynamic, it throws an error while mapping ?
    I cannot get Linked server permissions and SQL Server Config thing doesn't work as well.
    Please suggest on how to load data from one source to multiple server/databases.
    Thank you.

    I just need to transfer one table's data. its like i have to use a query to pick data for
    the most recent data. So i use something like, select A, B, C, D from dbo.table where ETL_TIMESTAMP > (the max(etltimestamp) in the destination on different server). There are no foreign key relationships and the data should not be truncated. it just had
    to append the new records.

  • Multiple and conditions in the same table

    Ok I am going to kick myself for this, but I can't figure it out. I am trying to figure out how to find employees which match multiple criteria in the same table.
    create table emp
    (empno number,
    name  varchar2(10))
    create table skills
    (skill_id   number,
    skill_code varchar2(20))
    create table emp_skills
    (empno    number,
    skill_id number,
    rating   number)
    insert into emp values(1, 'SMITH');
    insert into emp values(2, 'JONES');
    insert into skills values (1, 'SQL');
    insert into skills values (2, 'PLSQL');
    insert into skills values (3, 'JAVA');
    insert into emp_skills values(1,1, 8);
    insert into emp_skills values(1,2, 9);
    insert into emp_skills values(1,3, 10);
    insert into emp_skills values(2,1,9);
    insert into emp_skills values(2,2,2);
    insert into emp_skills values(2,3,7);Now I need to come up with a query finding all employees who match all 3 of the following criteria:
    1) Have at least a 5 rating in SQL
    2) Have at least a 6 rating in PLSQL
    3) Have at least a 7 rating in JAVA
    So using this I would expect to return only SMITH since his/her skills meet all 3 criteria. I dont want to use OR in my query since I want all 3 to match not just one of them.
    I have a feeling I will need to self join the table - but this is going to be part of a dynamic query for APEX where the users can choose the skills and ratings they want employees to adhere to, so I dont know the number of criteria or the exact criteria in advance. But I figure if I can get a proof of concept SQL I can make it work dynamically.
    Any ideas are appreciated - sorry for the long post but I figure more detail is better

    Hi mdavidh,
    This error occurs because the record  'PARENT_TASK_ID' was referenced by 'FK_PARENT_TASK_REF'.
    Please refer below codes:
    CREATE TABLE MyTable (
    ID INT, primary key(ID), -- primary key
    ID_Parent INT foreign key(ID_Parent) references MyTable(ID), -- foreign key reference the same table

  • Several FKs to the same table

    Hello,

         FTABLE  f6
    Where      m.lcode1 = f1.code  and
         m.lcode2 = f1.code and
         m.lcode6 = f6.codeIs this the correct and optimal way of doing it?
    Thanks for the help,
    Arie.

    Arie,
    It sounds like perhaps the best way might be to create your forms/reports based upon a view instead of the underlying tables (especially if you are running 10gR1 or 10gR2).
    I say this because:
    1. With 10g (maybe even back in 9i?), you can create INSTEAD_OF triggers, so instead of manipulating (insert, update or delete) the view, the trigger has the code to perform the action to the underlying base tables instead.
    2. This makes development easier, since all your joins are pre-defined in one place instead of re-creating them in numerous places.
    3. Grants can be issued to the views, instead of the various tables, with just select privs to the lookup tables.
    4. Change your join conditions to use the JOIN syntax, LEFT OUTER JOIN, etc., whatever is appropriate for your query. It's much easier to (eventually) figure out and maintain when you have multiple join conditions (especially against multiple tables), when any or all of them could null.
    For details on the JOIN syntax or the INSTEAD_OF triggers, try the on-line Oracle documentation (I'm at home today and don't have all my reference material handy).
    I'm using the above with great success (so far). I'm swamped with different work projects and different bosses and different priorities, so anything that makes my life easier is worth a couple hours of research, even if I have to do it from home in my off-time (if I can fit it into my schedule). I've been working on an HTMLDB (AppEx) application for over a year now, but I've probably only spent about 40-60 hours actually working on it, so I'm always forgetting most of what I've previously learned and done.

  • Master and Detail records in the same table

    Hi Steve,
    I have master and detail address records in the same table (self-reference). The master addresses are used as templates for detail addresses. Master addresses do not have any masters. Detail addresses have three masters: a master address, a calendar reference and a department. Addresses change from time to time and every department has its own email-account, but they refer to the same master to pre-fill some common values.
    Now I need to edit the master and detail address records on the same web page simultaneously.
    My question is: Can I implement a Master-View and Detail-View which refer to the same Entity-Object? Or should I implement a second Entity-Object? Or can it be done in a single Master-Detail-View?
    Thanks a lot.
    Kai.

    At a high level, wouldn't this be similar to an Emp entity based on the familiar EMP table that has an association from Emp to itself for the Emp.Mgr attribute?
    You can definitely build a view object that references two entity usages of the same entity like this to show, say, an employee's ENAME and at the same time their manager's ENAME.
    If there are multiple details for a given master, you can also do that with separate VO's both based on the same entity, sure. Again, just like a VO that shows a manager, and a view-linked VO of all the employees that report to him/her.

    No. It would be very confusing to do so. Can they not share an
    inheritance hierarchy? You can use flat mapping to do so.

  • Problem with the sames tables in the same report

    Hi friends,
             I have a report with the same table twice. One with the original name (Company) and the second with alias (Company_A). This report wants to show a "tree" of companies. With code I get a Dataset    and I fill the report with it. This Dataset    have two tables the original and the alias table with one and two rows expletively. The data is correct is what we expect that the report will show but this not occurs. He only see the rows of the original table and if you get more than one row in it he try a Cartesian product and we see invalid results. Can I fill the report with the correct rows to show in the report? Is there any other possibility? To help I put an example:
    Fields of table Company as original table in the report: Company.
    Fields of table Company as alias table (Company_A) in the report: Company and OriginCompany.
    There is a relation between Company and Company_A through the field Company (original alias) and OriginCompany (alias table).
    The dataset    is like this:
    Table Company: one row --> Company1.
    Table Company_A: two rows --> Company1a, Company.
                                                   Company2a, Company.
    Then the report only shows the rows of the original table Company but no trace of the alias table Company_A
    If someone can help me thanks and if not also!!!

    Use two connections not one when you are embedding one result set in another.
    If you are embedding one in the other also consider using a join which is faster and requires less code.

  • How can I duplicate the same table in 3 pages?

    hi everybody!
    i have a form with a master page (containing the invoice fields) and 3 body pages that reference the master page.
    in each one of these 3 pages there is a table with one header row, 7 body rows and a footer row.
    the table was copied and pasted from page 1 to page 2 and page 3.
    between the body rows there are two rows that are bound with table data, one for invoice details and one for tax details.
    my problem is that in the 2nd and 3rd page in pdf output invoice and tax details are empty, while the other lines are present.
    it seems like there is a table index that loops once in the first page until it reaches the end of the table, so for page 2 and 3 it is already at the end...
    my question is: how can i get the same complete table in three form pages?
    thanks in advance

    Not sure I follow .....are you asking for Page 2 and 3 to have the same table and values in the table as on Page1 or does each page have unique data?
    Where is the data coming from? Is the user typing it in or is there a separate data source somewhere?
