MAPVIEWER-06009 and MAPVIEWER-00002

Hello,
Making a zoom in a FOI layer is generating almost all the time this error:

Increasing the number of mappers (from 3 to 32) has solved this issue for the moment.
Seems the mapper is trapped in this point:

  • Status of transfer (shipment costs header data)

    Kindly explain it to me in general language,
    Status of transfer (shipment costs header data)
    This status describes the stage of forwarding for a shipment cost document.
    Use
    The status is determined by the system and cannot be changed manually. To determine the status, the system cumulates the item statuses. The following rules apply:
    Item     | Status
      000001 | _ | A | B | C | B | C | C | C
      000002 | _ | _ | _ | _ | A | A | B | C
    Header   | _ | A | B | C | B | B | B | C
    You can select shipment costs that have reached a certain forwarding status.

    Dear Pradeep,
    the matrix describes how the header status gets calculated when the cost document has two items.
    The header status is a cumulation of the item status. This is valid for the calculation, accounting and
    transfer status!
    Example:
    If item 00001 has status 'C' and item 00002 'A', the header status will be 'B'.
    Item | Status
    000001 | _ | A | B | C | B | C | C | C
    000002 | _ | _ | _  | _ | A | A | B | C
    Header | _ | A | B | C | B | B | B | C

  • Select from another table within a select

    Hello all,
    Here is my problem. I am working with thousands of records in each of the tables I am accessing. In the following code it takes about 1min-2min to process this select statement. I get the results I want but the query time is unacceptable. With all of my queries combined it would take over 10 days to complete this code. I would like to cut this time down as much as possible and feel this is the only way to achieve this. I have also tried temp tables to store the rows from the second select statement, no luck. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    select count(*)
         from first_table
         where id='1'
                   and contract_year='2006'
                   and site_code='00007'
                   and district='00002'
                   and std_id in (select std_id from second_table where attempt = 'Y' and scale ='Y');

    A few thoughts. First, you could try this...
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    FROM   first_table a,
           second_table b
    WHERE  a.id='1'
    AND    a.contract_year='2006'
    AND    a.site_code='00007'
    AND    a.district='00002'
    AND    a.std_id = b.std_id
    AND    b.attempt = 'F'
    AND    b.scale = 'Y';If you have no indexes, you could try the PARALLEL hint to improve the query. You could CACHE one or both tables to improve performance. Of course, indexes are always a preferred option!. As a final thought, if this is really going to take 10 days, perhaps the procedure(s) you are executing are inherently inefficient. You might want start there first.

    Hi Rema,
    You will be better off posting this query on the dedicated MapViewer forum:
    MapViewer
    Then you should look at providing more useful information in your question:
    - What version of MapViewer?
    - What version of Oracle?
    - Explain more background as to what you are trying to do
    - Turn the logging level in mapViewerConfig.xml up to FINEST as this will print the full SQL to the log file. Looking at this should help solve your problem - if not, then post the relevant bits of the log.
    You are getting error "ORA-13030:Invalid dimension for the SDO_GEOMETRY object"
    The standard explanation for this is:
    "There is a mismatch between the dimension in the SDO_GTYPE and dimension in the SDO_GEOM_METADATA for the SDO_GEOMETRY object."
    So if your data is 2D, make sure the SDOGEOM_METADATA says that too.
    (you should change your handle from 917206 to Rema)

  • Mapviewer legend and note overlap

    I am using Mapviewer 11ea and wish to place a legend above a note in the SOUTH EAST corner of my map. The note is defined in the config file and the legend is provided in the map request. The legend itself seems to create a box larger than required and overlaps the note text below. See the image at http://www.geocities.com/ozspatial/legend-note-overlap.jpg showing the overlap and the large amount of white space at the bottom of the legend.
    The legend component of the request is from the default mapviewer request and looks like:
    <legend bgstyle="fill:#ffffff;stroke:#ff0000" profile="MEDIUM" position="SOUTH_EAST">
              <column>
                <entry text="Map Legend" is_title="true" />
                <entry style="M.STAR" text="center point" />
                <entry style="M.CITY HALL 3" text="cities" />
                <entry style="M.CITY HALL 4" text="big cities" />
                <entry is_separator="true" />
                <entry style="C.ROSY BROWN STROKE" text="state boundary" />
                <entry style="L.PH" text="interstate highway" />
                <entry text="County population:" />
                <entry style="V.COUNTY_POP_DENSITY" tab="1" />
              </column>
      </legend>Does anyone know how to reduce the white space in the legend or some other way to avoid the overlap? (whilst still placing both note and legend in the SOUTH EAST corner)
    thanks,
    Ross.

    Hi Ross,
    I don't think you will be able to reduce the white space at the bottom, but there are some parameters on the legend that you can use.
    1) In overlap situations you can set the transparency of the legend:
    <legend bgstyle="fill:#ffffff;fill-opacity:128;stroke:#ff0000" profile="MEDIUM" position="SOUTH_EAST">
    2) For the profile value there is an internal size defined. In your figure I can note that the advanced style items are also overlapping, which means that the internal size MEDIUM seems not appropriate for this legend. You can assign a height for a legend entry:
    <entry style="V.CA INCOME 2" tab="1" height="150"/>
    3) With version 11 there are two new parameters (location_x and location_y) for the legend that can be used to put the legend in any position. In this case the position attribute is ignored if defined.
    <legend bgstyle="fill:#ffffff;fill-opacity:128;stroke:#ff0000" profile="MEDIUM" location_x="20" location_y="50">

  • Confused about Mapviewer and SQL in OBIEE 11g.

    I read in another post that you cant use mapviewer unless you have an oracle database.
    Here is my confusion. The mapviewer product comes with OBIEE 11g, Correct?
    If I use Google Maps, and load the map information into an SQL data base, why wouldnt I be able to get it to work?
    I cant believe that Oracle, who makes a big deal about how OBIEE can work with "Any data source", would provide a key function
    that would only work with an Oracle data base, thereby purposely excluding many of their customers from using that key function.
    Someone please clear this up for me because we need to use maps and we use SQL Server 2008  for our data warehouse.

    Hi katherine,
    FILTER(count(distinct("customer info dimesion"."customerID")) USING ("TradeType Dimesion"."TradeType" = '001'))I think your formula there is mistake like many braces...instead type this in your f(x)
    =>Filter(count(distinct customer_id) USING trade type='001')
    This filter function is same like a case statement,if you filter still gives error write a case statement
    CASE WHEN TradeType Dimesion.TradeType='001' THEN count(distinct customer info dimesion.customerID) ELSE 0 END

  • How to install apex (and mapviewer) company wide ?

    Hi,
    Until now I've developed some applications on a laptop.
    I want to bring them to my company - in this stage as a "pilot" with a limited number of employees having access.
    What do I need: a database, apex installed and - now is coming what I want to know - application server or http-server ?
    For your information: I'm using also oracle spatial and mapviewer to present data on the map of the netherlands. Therefore I want to install spatial, and mapviewer. An pre-installed oc4j is included in that installation.
    How to combine these issues ?
    Thanks in advance for any reaction.
    Leo

    Hello Leo,
    I'm not sure these issues should be combined. You are talking about 3 different Oracle products, each with its own pre-installation requirements. Regarding oracle spatial and MapViewer, you'll need to ask your DBA (or someone with the proper experience in this forum can help you).
    As for ApEx, you'll need a db version 9.2.0.3 or higher, and you'll need the OHS (Oracle HTTP Server) which is part of the db companion CD, or can be downloaded from OTN.
    As far as I know, Oracle MapViewer is part of the Oracle Application server, just like OC4J and OHS. In this case, you can install all the needed modules of the Application Server, and then installed ApEx. The ApEx installation guide includes information on how to configure the HTTP server, as part of the Application Server.
    Hope this helps,
    Arie.

    Hello,
    I am new to Oracle MapViewer.
    Does Oracle MapViewer 12.1.3 supports WFS-T (Transaction) Service similar to ArcGIS Server 10.2?

      10.3 Setting Up the Client for Spatial Web Services
      Before anyone can use Spatial and Graph web services, you, as an administrator with the DBA role, must ensure that:
      •The $ORACLE_HOME/md/jlib/sdows.ear file is deployed into an OC4J instance.
      •The necessary database connections are defined (if you accepted the default location for the sdows.ear file deployment) in the <j2ee_home>/home/applications/sdows/META-INF/data-sources.xml file. This file defines database connections available for use with all web services, including OpenLS and WFS.
      You should then examine and modify the <j2ee_home>/home/applications/sdows/sdows/WEB-INF/conf/WSConfig.xml file, which controls web services behavior. Example 10-1 shows the Oracle-supplied WSConfig.xml file, which you should modify as needed for your system environment. For more information about how to modify this and other files, see the Readme.txt file for the wsclient.jar demo file (described in Section 10.4, "Demo Files for Sample Java Client").
    What do I need to install? How do I deploy OC4J? How I deploy this in Weblogic or Glassfish? How do I deploy the .ear file in OC4J?

  • Hardware Sizing for Oracle Application Server and MapViewer

    Hi all,
    I need to develop an application using Oracle Application Server 10g and MapViewer. The applicaction will, basically, do thematic maps based on a search criteria. The estimative is that we will have 25 users simultaneously using it.
    I´d like to have an idea about the hardware to support it.
    Do you know where I can get this information?
    Any documentation can help.
    Regards,
    Luis Augusto

    Hi Luis,
    It may depend on your database size, but I think at least you need to meet the minimum requirements for the Application Server. You can find additional documentation for the AS at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/index.html.
    However I would suggest some extra memory, and if possible the better CPU that you can get. MapViewer will render the spatial features on the server side, and depending on your database size and number of features returned from the queries, this extra memory will help.

    Thank for the quick reply. I was just doing a basic test to determine if Map Viewer would satisfy our target architecture and rich web client functional requirements. Everything checks out except for my lack of understanding on how to determine the best performance settings. I expect the development environment to be slower than production. Our actual production environment is many load balanced map and database servers.
    Sorry about the lack of details.

  • OBIEE and MapViewer problem

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to use mapviewer to get some reports on OBIEE 11g, after getting the tile and configure the Mapviewer with te data source and everything, i get the following error while trying to create a report, after associate data to the area.
    the Associated Subject Areas on the Background map Tab, on Manage Map Data is empty, and the data is associated in the Layers Tab.
    Then when i try to create a report using the associated data, then the following error gets to me.
    "A basemap is required to render a map. Please ensure that atleast one basemap is defined in the spatial meta-data"
    Then, searching on the documentation, i've done the following,
    On the mapViewerConfig.xml file
    <proxy_enabled_hosts>
    http://"hos"t:9704/mapviewer
    </proxy_enabled_hosts>
    on the instanceconfig.xml
    <ServerInstance>
    <SpatialMaps>
    <ColocatedOracleMapViewerContextPath>/mapviewer</ColocatedOracleMapViewerContextPath>
    <RemoteOracleMapViewerAbsoluteURL>http://"host":9704/mapviewer</RemoteOracleMapViewerAbsoluteURL>
    <LayerDataLayout>
    <MaxRecords>600</MaxRecords>
    </LayerDataLayout>
    </SpatialMaps>
    </ServerInstance>
    but still got the same problem, something i saw on the weblogic console was the following
    <Cannot read USER_SDO_TILE_ADMIN_TASKS view from database
    after saving and restarting the mapviewer.
    Any idea??
    Regards
    Cesar

    Hi,
    May be this will help you for this you need to create a data source in map viewer which will help you to get the base map present and then you can go on creating the report using map.
    After creating the data-source you will find the list of map available for u to use then bring them online and then go on using.
    Thanks.

  • Scale in MapViewer and MapBuilder

    </zoom_levels>
    on zoomlevel 18 I'm "closest" to the ground, on 1 I can see the whole world (no data there in my theme but theoretically...) - all fine (except black borders between tiles - other problem).
    Now I want to improve image quality by choosing pyramid-levels for the zoom-level and tried to figure out a way to set up basemaps in mapbuilder using ratio.
    That's where I noticed, that MapBuilder seems to use a different way of calculating scale in comparison to MapViewer. E.g. in my case scale 262144 is zoom-level 18 in MapViewer, but viewing the picture in MapBuilder I have to chose scale 1024 to get the same picture (which is zoom-level 10 in MapViewer).
    Did I get anything wrong about this? Or is there anything I can do to sync the scales in order to make working with mapbuilder and mapviewer combined easier?
    Also is there a way to see which pyramid-level of the georaster-file is used to calculate a maptile in MapViewer?
    Thanks,
    NilsO

    Hi NilsO,
    first about the pyramid level of GeoRaster used. MapViewer/MapBuilder calculates the closest pyramid level for the current map scale (based on map and device windows). You can find this information in the log when the GeoRaster theme images are being generated (you may need to set the logging to finest).
    About the tile layer definition, in XML tile layer definition the values of min_scale and max_scale are interpreted differently from MapViewer base map definition. So I think in your case the min_scale should be 1.0 and the max_scale should be 262144 in XML, and the zoom levels would be in reverse order that you have.
    How did you generate this tile layer definition?
    The visualization scales in MapBuilder/MapViewer and Oracle maps in general should be consistent, although rendering in MapBuilder does not use the zoom levels of Oracle Maps (can be any scale). Please try changing the tile layer definition as mentioned above, to see if you still get the scale differences.
