MapViewer add datasource by admin request - problem

Please suggest me.
I try to create datasource by admin request, but receive that error:

What does it mean?

If you are using MApViewer 10g (e.g. 10.1.3) this has to be done from the Admin pages once you've logged in as an oc4jadmin.
To do this programmaticaly see LJ's post elsewhere in this forum on how to do this in Java. That was for clearing the map cache but the same logic applies here.

MapViewer: send admin request using pl/sql

Hello,
i have a reqirement to send mapviewer admin requests to the mapviewer server using pl/sql.
I found a java class in Re: How can I refresh the map cache for Oracle Maps ? , but i'm struggeling to replicate this functionality in pl/sql, without using java.
Are there any examples out htere how to send admin requests to mapviewer using pl/sql?

You may use the UTL_SMTP package to send e-mail via the SMTP protocol. This package has been available in the Oracle database since Oracle 8i Release 2 (8.1.6). For more information, please check its documentation in "Oracle8i Supplied PL/SQL Packages Reference".

I'm getting DataSource.NotFound: OData: Request failed (404) error when open connection

I have a simple OData service running in a server. When I try to call him in a browser all works fine. But in Excel Power Query, after the user authentication step, I get this error in Query editor
DataSource.NotFound: OData: Request failed (404): The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

The service is configured in a server and he his public. The URL (working in browser) http://<URL>:91/GIPJAM/
This may be a port (91) problem? My application runs in port 80. This 91 port is to guarantee that the server is public. For exemple, if I run in my home network, using the name of the machine in the URL (like; http://quiron.blabla.net/GIPJAM/) all works
in browser and in Excel PQ.
I've made every test I can remember but i'm newbie in OData services and server, IIS and network configurations.
Anyone can help me?

I'm using Power Query 2.16 and Excel 2013, with a Odata V4 Service in Web .NET API 2.2

It looks like your service probably supports V3 and V4 or you'd be getting a different error message. What I suspect is happening is that the service doesn't know that it's listening on port 91 and so it's returning URLs embedded in your result -- either
the xml:base on an XML body or the metadata link in a JSON body -- which don't reflect the port number. You can easily verify this by using Fiddler to look at the results. If any of them have an URL that's missing the ":91", that's an indication
that you'll need to fix this on the service side.

Is there a way to programmatically add datasources to multiple instance in a cluster?

Hi,
I am wondering whether it is possible to loop through the instances in a cluster and add the same datasource to each using the setMSSQL function from cfide.adminapi.datasource.cfc.
We are running CF9.01 on Windows Server 2008 r2 (64 Bit).
If you can't do this, what would be the best way to achieve this without having to log in to each administrator and add them manually?

You can't add datasources across a cluster with the Server Administrator? That surprises me.
Honestly, I have never done it, but according to Adobe's feature page, that is one thing it does:

You do need to register each instance as a server, but once that is done, you shouldn't need to worry about it again.

I have been able to successfully connect to our BOE environment and to one of our universes. I keep getting the following error. When editing the query, as I expand and collapse various dimensions / measures, I will see data at one point and
then as I expand/collapse various combinations of data I get this error. I can't figure out the underlying issue that causes this error to appear and disappear. Help!

When I open Power Query in my Excel and connect to the SharePoint site that my list(s) reside in the tool displays the tables but when I select the table to pull the data I receive this error

BTW: all the system created lists (like L MicroFeed) in the SharePoint do work properly. I can open them in Power Query and look at the data

When I connect to the SharePoint site that contains the lists I need to build my query from , Power Query enumerates the list and displays them in the tool. I can click on the system tables and view the records but any table
in the list I created returns this error.
I can connect fine with InfoPath

Hi Andrew. In order for us diagnose this issue, you'll need to capture some network traces using a tool such as Fiddler and share them by sending a Frown.
To capture a trace using Fiddler, start Fiddler, enable the Tools > Fiddler Options > HTTPS > Decrypt HTTPS traffic option, start the capture, reproduce your issue, then stop and save the capture. You can find more information here.
Once you've done that, please send a Frown through the Power Query ribbon and attach the traces.

Go to RSA6 R/3, Select your datasource. Click on the Transport button. Then this asks Transport request, then you can collect.
Or Select your datasource and click on change. In this way also, you can collect into TR

Add DataSource Remembers Last Account and Password

When adding a DataSource, the dialog is prepopulated with the account and password (only asterisks) that I used in my previous DataSource creation, even though that previous DataSource had been deleted. I'm not sure, but perhaps this isn't a good idea from a security standpoint.

BTW, the password in the Add Datasource dialog is only remembered in session. i.e it is not written any where. If the IDE is shutdown and invoked again, these values in the dialog will disappear. It is there for convenience only.
