Marking Field Mandatory Based on a particular Product Selection

Hi All,
I have a different requirement, when I select a particular product names from the product picklist I have to make another field as mandatory. I dont have dynamic layouts to do this option.
Is there anyway where I can make a field as mandatory based on a value selection from another picklist field?

Hi, If the product ID = 1,2 or 3 and if the mandatory field is not filled set an internal field value to 1 using default field value and write a validation rule on that internal field forcing the user to fill in mandatory field. Extend the same using workflow using update field operation. Hope it helps

recently, i spent considerable amount of time wracking my brain on a similar problem. the nearest i came to a solution was when i used a forms personalisation. mind you, forms personalisation will not work directly on the DFF window, so it has to be approached in a roundabout sort of way.
i got this information from an Oracle Support personnel - MOS Note 1078348.1.
i would start with the flexfield segment as "not required", and then using Forms Personalization, i would make it "required". i would try to figure out how to establish a condition where the previous 'required' flexfield segment's value is checked to see if this 'not required' segment needs to be made 'required'. in theory, this should solve the issue. i gave up on it because the forms personalisation would need to cover WHEN-VALIDATE trigger event, and we had close to 100 validations going on through other preexisting forms personalisations, which rendered it near impossible to employ this method.

Making a field mandatory based on values in a drop down

Hi,
I am new to Javascripting on the Adobe Designer and we have a requirement to make a text field mandatory based on one of the values selected in a drop down list on the same form.
When I say mandatory I mean we need to prevent the form from being Saved if this text field is not filled - specifically when a value (say "Promotion") is selected on a drop down.
Please help me with the events under which the script needs to be placed and the scripting commands.

You can put PPR event on EMAIL field. Catch that event in PFR and put your logic there like:
if EMAIL is not null then make FORMAT field mandatory (for that u can catch that in PR)

Make a field mandatory based on a segment in distribution account

Hi there,
I have a requirement to make a flexfield segment mandatory to enter extra information when the user selects a particular account when entering the distribution lines of a Purchase Order. Only when segment 2 lies within a particular range of values, should this field become mandatory.
Has anyone done anything similar before? Please let me know how to get about it.

Hi,
You can do this by creating Context Sensitive DFF.
While defining a Context in the DFF, put :<BLOCK_NAME>.<FIELD_NAME> in the Reference field.
FIELD_NAME should be the field, on the basis of which you want the DFF to be mandatory. Check "Synchronize with Reference Field" check boc in the DFF window.
The Contexts need to be defined exactly with the same name as the values, which might come in the refernce field.

Setting fields mandatory based on other fields

Hi,
In my adobe form there are 4 input fields(F1,F2,F3 and F4) and one field(F5) which is input optional. But if any field (F1, F2,F3 or F4) gets changed, the fifth field F5 has to be mandatory. I guess some java scrip is required but I dont have any idea on the same.

we have a similar situation where a field must be filled in if a value is chosen in our dropdown box.
you can throw a popup message stating that the field must be filled...

Or what we did is just checked all the values after the SUBMIT and issued error messages in a message area letting the user know what they missed.

How to make some fields mandatory based on radio button selected

As per requirement i have two radio buttons in my screen.
1.update
2.Display.
When the user clicks update then certain fields of selection screen should be made mandatory.
And if the user cliks the Display Radio Button then certain fields should be made mandatory.

Make field in Material master mandatory based on the material group

Hello all,
I need to make the field "post to inspection flag" mandatory based on the material group while creating the Material master.
I found options for making the field mandatory based on Material type,Industry sector and plant NOT based on the material group.
Could anyone please provide suggestions on setting up the field as mandatory based on material group while creating material master

You can make Material Group field as Mandatory while Creating Material Master.
SPRO>Log General>Material Master>Field Selection>Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens
Select Screen # 48
In the Field selection (Field Ref.) of (MARA - MAKTL) screen , Change the settings from Optional to Required Entry for T Codes MM01, MM02 or you can select the Material Type ;
Please note this by choosing this selection the fields of Profit Center and Division will also become Mandatory.

We want to make a field 'Account Assignment Group (MVKE-KTGRM)' (field is in Sales: Sales org - 2 view) mandatory for finished products only.
The field 'Item category Grp' in the same view is already mandatory.
We do not want to make any other additional field mandatory.

You can make the field mandatory based on the only below points:
1. Transaction
2. Material type
3. Industry sector
4. Plant
5. Procurement type
6. Sap delivery
Now as per above field reference, you can't do only based on the finished production...
So, think abt it and then choose the field reference key as per your req. and then only it is possible to make it mandatory...
As per my view you can make it possible via material type, plant ..

Go to SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Scheduling Agreements > Define Screen Layout at Document Level.
Choose your transaction. (me32) If you need this for me32l and if this transaction is not shown, copy me32 and rename it has me32l. This will create a new entry.
Go into the particular transaction and go to "GR/IR Control". Here change the tick to "Required Entry" in the feild "GR based IV".
This should make the field mandatory.

Hi Friends,
Please refer to the below screen shot - we are posting the final billing to customer in SAP (post outbound delivery).
Here we use the available fields under Foreign Trade/Customs tab - to mention details of shipping line & vessel name (it is fetched on output form).
My question is can these fields be marked as mandatory, as many times users tend to miss filling these fields.
The fields we want to mark as mandatory are "Transport-Departure" under Handling tab;
"Office of Exit" & "Export customs off." under Geography tab;
"Description" under Comments tab;

Goto SHD0.
ennter t-code co01 there. goto tab page screen varients and anter varient name Zco01. Write program and screen name there.( you can get this names from F1 help on the field in the co01. in the field press F1 and goto technical information. Pick the program and screen from there.)
Then create a varient with this information, you will goto co01 tcode, enter there and you will get a pop up asking for different values. You can make the filed you require as mandatory.

Could you please share why you want to make tax Classification field mandatory in sales order.
Maintain Tax classification field for customer in Customer Master Data = (Sales Area Data - Billing document Tab page)
Tax Classification field for Material in Material Master Data = Sales Org. 1 View.
While creating sales order and enter customer and material system automatically fetch the tax classification related data into sales order.
Tax is calculated based on the ship to party.

How to make some fields mandatory for a custom screen we have added

Hi All,
Please let me know how can I make some fields mandatory through coding in PBO for only some fields of a screen.
Say if I have 4 fields in my screen(module pool not selection screen) i want to make mandatory 2 fields based on some conditions how to do this? I tried using screen-group but this will make mandatory all the fields of that screen mandatory.
I want only specific fields based on condition in run time.

         Try this ..
Assign the same group to those fields , say GRP
       in PAI
         IF <CONDITION>
            Loop at screen.
               if screen-group1 = 'GRP'.
                  screen-required = '1'.
                  modify screen.
               endif.
             endloop.
          ENDIF.
