Marquee zoom

Is it possible to execute short cuts using JS? or event call the marquee zoom by click on the custom button created with JS (app.addToolButton({...})?
It would be nice, that all buttons/functions which I need  are collected on one place using JS.
Thanks and regards,
Alex

I printed all the menu items and found out, that marquee zoom has a value "Zoom":
[cName:ZoomSubMenu, oChildren:[[cName:ZoomTo],[cName:Zoom],[cName:ZoomDrag] ....
Unfortunately app.execMenuItem("Zoom") doesn't execute this item and no error is shown. ZoomTo and ZoomDrag are executed.
What problem it might be here? I have the XIth version of Acrobat Pro.
var zoom = app.trustedFunction(function () {
    app.beginPriv();
    app.execMenuItem("Zoom");
    app.endPriv();
    console.println("Zoom!");

  • In Adobe X, where did the "marquee zoom" and "single page scrolling" buttons go?

    There are many other buttons that were available in earlier versions that are no longer there.
    For single page with scrolling, apparently you now have to go View\Page Display\single page and then View\Page Display\Enable Scrolling, where before I had it on my toolbar, one-click and done.
    Same for marquee zoom, I had a button, one-click and grab part of a page and you instantly had a close up.  Now it's go find the menu, View\Zoom\Marquee Zoom, THEN go grab your page.
    When going to a new version, if the feature is still there, don't REDUCE the ways in which to turn it on, or make it so when you open a document it automatically turns off the feature you were just using in a previous document.
    Let the users move the Quick Tools toolbars around, combine on one line, use the previous interface etc.  People who use software like this daily in their jobs (like me!) don't like having changes forced on them when their company chooses to update versions.  It's great when new useful features are added, but not at the cost of removing the stuff we already use all the time.

    Go to View - Show/Hide - Rulers & Guides, and un-tick the Snap to Grid
    option.

  • Hyperlinking Overriding Marquee Zoom?

    Hello all - I'm a new member to this forum and have what is (I hope) a simple question...  I've got a series of PDF documents that have hyperlinks embedded in them from another application (ArcGIS).  The hyperlinks work great with Adobe Reader 8 (they do exactly what they are supposed to do) so that end of things is good.  What I'm finding though is that when I try and use the marquee zoom tool in AR8, it only lets me use it outside the area where the hyperlinks are (basically just the white space around the map).  As soon as I hover the marquee zoom tool over the map, it gives me the finger (not literally) to click on the hyperlink it is over top of and marquee zoom is not available unless I again go out over the white space around the map.  It works fine starting in the white space and ending within the map but not at all from just inside the map area (again, just get the finger to select a hyperlinked feature).
    The puzzler for me is that this issue is occurring on some new laptops we have just purchased but on older laptops we have (again with Adobe Reader 8), it does not occur at all - marquee zoom works from anywhere on the page and the hyperlinks work properly as well.  I've looked through all the options and menus in Adobe Reader but can't see anything that would override this behaviour...does anyone out there know of how to resolve this issue?
    Regards!

  • Make marquee zoom default on startup

    Whenever I start Acrobat XI or open a new pdf, the default tool is set to the Select Tool. I would like the default to be the Marquee Zoom. Is there a way to change that?

    Hi Rhinny2012,
    I am not sure what you mean by default, but if you mean to make it available in the toolbar along side the plus and minus buttons in Acrobat, follow View>Show/Hide>Toolbar Items>Select & Zoom to add Marquee Zoom.

  • Marquee Zoom breakes MouseMoveListener?

    Hi,
    I've got panel on my website which constantly shows mouse pointer lon and lat location over the map using MouseMove listener and then mapview.getMouseLocation();

  • Problems with Marquee Zoom

    So it appears that in Acrobat 8, Adobe has changed or done away with a function that I use at least 40 gazillion times a day.
    When I'm using any tool and want to zoom in on a specific area on the page without having to first manually select the magnifying glass tool, I am used to holding down the Command key + space bar, which changes the active tool into a magnifying glass, which I can then use to draw a border around the area I want to zoom in on. (This is called a marquee zoom.) Release keys and mouse, and presto, I'm zoomed in on that area. But I didn't have to manually select the marquee zoom tool first, and I don't have to manually go back and reselect whatever tool I was working with before the zoom.
    I've been using this Command key + space bar zoom function in Adobe products for ages -- I dunno, I think this goes way back to the early days of Illustrator. And it still works in CS3 versions of both Illustrator and InDesign.
    So why doesn't it work in Acrobat 8? Did Adobe disable this function? Why in the world would they disable it in one product but not others?
    So maybe they didn't disable it, but it doesn't work on my computer. Anybody have any info about this?
    Thanks,
    Laurie

    Russell -- thanks! Y'know, I hadn't even thought about trying this. My brain is on autopilot after all these years and I'm going to have to retrain it to specifically think about pressing space first.
    What's interesting is that sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. So I think it's just buggy. I don't have to specifically think about pressing either key first in Illustrator or InDesign -- it works fine both ways in CS3.
    Again, thanks for your idea. I don't know if I'd have ever thought of this on my own yet in hindsight it seems obvious. Duh.

  • How to access the magnifier/marquee zoom tool in Reader XI?

    The subject says it all, really.
    Richard

    The keyboard shortcut is the same as in most applications (Windows):
    Ctrl + [zoom in]
    Ctrl - [zoom out]
    use the + / - on the numeric keypad.
    If you don't have the Zoom tool on your Toolbar, you can add it using View | Show/Hide | Toolbar Items | Select & Zoom.

  • Find and marquee zoom at the same time

    I have seen in Adobe Acrobat Pro, that you can search for a test and once it is found maruee zoom square is created around the text, where you click on the box and the text is zoomed in. I am not sure how to set this in my document, please help.

  • Disable Hand toss in CS4 & annoying zoom design

    Hi there,
    Is there a way to disable the ever so annoying hand toss feature (that makes the canvas glide as you pan it)? Actually refering to it as a feature kind of makes me cringe as there's no practical benefit of it what so ever.
    I also find the movement of the new GPU-accelerated marquee zoom kind of jerky. Instead of moving straight in, it seems to use some kind of compound movement that feels rather unsmooth. Am I the only one annoyed by this behaviour?

    >Reimund Trost:Is there a way to disable the ever so annoying hand toss feature (that makes the canvas glide as you pan it)?
    Edit->Preferences->General Uncheck "Enable Flick Panning"
    And I use it all the time when I'm zoomed into an image. Makes navigating to a different area very easy. To stop the pan just left click.

  • Randomly changing zoom method in Illustrator CC

    Does anyone know how to change the zoom method from 'marquee zoom' (zooms to box drawn on screen) to the newer 'scrubby zoom' (click and hold while moving mouse zooms drawing in and out) and back again...mine seems to be changing at random or I am hitting a key combo that I cant find listed...it even uses a different zoom method between documents in same instance of illustrator CC...on screenshots of older versions I have seen zoom options in preferences that I cant find in CC...pretty annoying...
    Windows 8.1

    Ok, I just found that it probably isn't random but it uses 'Marquee Zoom' if you start a document with a 'Print' profile and uses 'Scrub Zoom' in the other profiles...is there any way to change this without starting a new document? Not sure why zoom method would be tied to your intended output, isn't it more of a personal preference thing?

  • Zooming in with Mac Acrobat

    Hello,
    I've just gotten my Mac here at work, after being a PC user for 20 years. I love it. But, I'm flummoxed by some "shortcuts" I was used to on the PC. Specifically, I need to be able to zoom in on PDF pages. I know I can zoom with command + +. But, I need to zoom in, into a specific area of the page. The regular zoom just enlarges everything and I have to scroll to get to what I wanted to look at closely. On the PC I'd press Control + spaceband. In fact, that worked for zooming in for all Adobe apps. Does anyone know the trick for this?
    Thanks,
    Peter
    P.S. I just discovered the "marquee zoom" tool in the toolbar. That's what I want. I've put it in my toolbar at the top. I'd just like to know if there's a keyboard shortcut for it. Thanks.

    So if you have the regular selection tool showing on you page in a PDF and you first push and hold the space bar and add the Cmd key (keeping both pushed) you don't get the magnifier with the plus sign in it? If you don't it's likely some OS interference from either Spotlight or Expose.

  • How can i change the zoom mode?

    how can i change the zoom mode? the illustrator cc 2014 default is zoom with drag, like photoshop. i want to change to previous mode

    Just had this myself, you need to either...
    Start document with a 'Print' profile instead of 'Web' or 'TV' and it will use 'Marquee Zoom' instead of 'Scrubby Zoom'
    or
    Goto Edit >  Preferences > Experimental Feature and turn off 'Enable Animated Zoom'

  • Acrobat 9 OCR and "OCR Suspects"

    I downloaded the trial for version 9.
    Took a poorly scanned page and OCR'd it.
    It (expectedly) had a few errors.
    Then I selected "OCR Suspects" from menus.
    What it should have done is found the "low confidence" results, but
    instead, it said no OCR suspects were found.
    This used to work in version 8, but I can't get 'OCR suspects' working in V9 trial.
    Can anyone confirm if this works in the full version of Acrobat 9 Pro or Standard?

    It's strange that while I posted to this Adobe forum, there is a response over at objectmix.com. As contributing to this topic from 2 locations seems confusing, I'll carry on here.
    Amannagpal76 responded, saying in part that ClearScan in 9 Pro replaces Formatted Text & Graphics. Good to know this. ClearScan does, however, continue the mix. If ocr doesn't work on a character graphic, that graphic will continue to be displayed as such, amidst ClearScan's synthesized type 3 font imitation of the original font. This is most obvious when using the marquee zoom tool.
    Aman suggests using the Touchup Text Tool and changing the font to any font installed on one's system. This doesn't work for ClearScan. Selecting a different font in Touchup for a PDF that came via a wordprocessor works fine, but not for a PDF that came via a scan. That, unfortunately, is the only time that ClearScan is used. The error message when I try this states that there's no system font to match the one in ClearScan, and text can't be added or deleted.
    ClearScan is remarkable for the small size file it produces. That size can be reduced considerably even further by converting it to the Adobe 7 file format. ClearScan's synthesized font is also remarkable when enlarging the page on screen. Then you can see its true outlines -- rather chewed up in high magnification, but that's OK. It would be nice to extract the font in question and use it on one's system. One downside to ClearScan is that its ocr fails to retain italics when output to RTF and Word.
    I have never found a suspect in 9 Pro.
    The conclusion from the above is that the hidden text produced by any ocr'ing in 9 Pro can't be corrected.

  • Scripting shortcut for pencil tool in Acrobat 9 Pro?

    Many of the tools in Acrobat 9 Pro have a keyboard shortcut (P=callout box, U=highlight, Z=marquee zoom...) but not the pencil tool. Anyone scripted a shortcut key or be willing to explain the process of writing a script and assigning it to a keystroke?
    Why would Adobe overlook this tool?
    And yes, I know AutoInk sells a plug-in for $69.

  • Creating Forms in Acrobat 9

    Is there any way to make the usual toolbars available when in the new form editing view?
    I find the Hand Tool and the Marquee Zoom indispensable when creating forms, but it appears I only have access to a very limited array of tools when working on a form (i.e., neither of these).
    Also, can I disable the ruler in form editing view? It just eats up unnecessary space.

    I know how to make all of the usual tools available *outside* form editing mode, what I want is to have those tools available when I'm creating fields, etc. I don't want to have to jump back and forth between modes.
    I see that the button tool has been duplicated in the Advanced Editing toolbar, why haven't the others been made available, even as custom buttons?
    So I guess there's no way to do this. It seems like the only "advantage" to form editing mode is a limited array of tools.
    Edit: Also, I know *how* to turn the ruler off in form mode, what I want is the ruler off by default in form editing mode. Since you suggest I should jump back and forth to use the usual tools when working on forms, I'd at least like to have the ruler in form editing mode off by default, but it currently has to be turned off every time form editing mode is entered.
    (Sorry if I'm coming off a bit abrupt, this change is really going to interfere with my workflow.)
