Now I need to build a page showing a master/detail/detail relationship ? How do i do this ?
Thanks for your help,

  • Create Master Detail on a single page

    I have a create page with both the master(header) as well as (lines) on the same page.
    Here is the page flow:
    User navigates to the search screen on which the create button is displayed along with Search/Results regions.
    User clicks on create button which takes them to Create Order Page.
    The Create Order Page is a master-detail page. I have the create part for the header (which was tested independently before
    the details table region is added) working fine which fetches and assigns the headerId from a sequence.
    However, when I add the details table region and include the create Row method for the details Row as well , without explicitly
    setting the headerId myself and render the page, I get the following exception. This exception is raised as soon as the control reaches the createRow
    method of the detail.
    This is probably due to the HeaderId being not yet available. How do I get around this issue.
    I was initially thinking of setting the attribute myself but the documentation says that when an Composition association
    exists between the Entity Objects, OA automatically does it for you.
    I included the detailVO in the AM via the view link.

  • How to create a master detail form on same page in apex 4.2.1

    Hi All,
    i need to design a master detail form on same page i am not finding an option in wizard from where i can do that.
    will appreciate your suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hi James,
    I think that Mike is suggesting that you create a SQL View over the table and join together the individual primary key values into a single, unique, pseudo primary key. You can still include the individual columns in the SQL but you can then use this new column as the primary key on a form. However, you would also need to create INSTEAD OF triggers to handle inserts/updates/deletes as SQL will not allow you to update tables through a view. (See: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/create_trigger.htm#i2064426] for the Oracle details on this or Re: How to update view resp. table for an example within Apex).
    Ideally, though, you should only really need one key column - is there any need for four?

  • Master Detail on the same page PHP - MySQL

    Hi,
    Is it possible to create a page using spry master region and call MySQL data into a Spry detail region, like you do with xml data?
    Basically, is there a way to have master detail regions on the same page without using frames?
    Thanks
    Bert

    Thanks for that, very useful indeed.
    But isn't it going to be slow, first transferring the MySQL data to XML then reading XML to display the records.
    What is the advantage other then displaying master detail on the same page?
    Thanks

  • How to print multiple identical-copies in one single page?

    Hi all,
    I need to print several copies of the same image in one single page. I've tried the following:
    - selecting the layout 4-pages in one.
    - printing 4 copies.
    However, this produce 4 physical pages, with the miniaturized image.
    No way to get 4 copies of the same image in the same page.
    Very thanks in advance,
    Jonatan

    jonatanc, welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Is the "image" you wish to print a picture image like a .jpg?
    I do this many times when I want to print 4 images on letter size photo paper. I use Photoshop Elements, but you could probably use most any graphic application.
    I do a Select All & Copy of the image. Then open a new file with a letter size. I then paste the image on the page 4 times & move the image towards the 4 corners of the page. Then print.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Snapshot/master site implementation in one single system

    I know what u said(that is understood)?
    To get some practice on replication scenerio can i do it in single system by create two databases. one database as master site and the other as snapshot site. Is it possible on a single system.i'm able to create snapshot and master site in two databases but when i am trying to

  • One single page, two SUBMIT buttons.

    At first I had only one region on this page, and there is a submit button for this region (or page?). There is already a PROCESS corresponding to this submit button. Later I added another region, and I also want to add a submit button for this new region. But how can I add a new process for the new region? Based on my understanding, one single page can only have one SUBMIT PROCESS, right?

    I mean, I cannot invoke the procedure here directly, right?
    For example, I have a stored procedure in DB, which starts with:
    1 CREATE or REPLACE PROCEDURE procedure1
    2 (arg1 IN VARCHAR2)
    3 IS
    4 declaration1;
    5 BEGIN
    6 stmt1;
    7 END;When I want to use it here in the page process, I have to remove the first 3 lines, am I right?

  • Master-Detail in One Page, on CREATE master, details show wrong rows

    Hi all,
    (ADF Faces + BC, 10.1.3 su5)
    I am creating a master-detail add/edit page in ONE page.
    Master : ADF Form, with Create, Submit, Commit, Rollback operation/button
    Detail : ADF Editable Table, with Create, Submit, Delete operation / button
    When first called, the page display the existing master-details in the collection.
    When I press Create on master, I expect the detail table to be refreshed to BLANK, but it keeps on displaying the existing rows.
    Detail table only becomes BLANK after I Submit the newly created master first.
    So the question is :
    How to make the detail table BLANK after I press Create on master ?
    Thank you ,
    xtanto

  • Master-detail UI  on single table

    Hi,
    Iam trying to build a master-detail UI for a denormalized flat interface table. the primary key is a combination of 2 attributes - external reference and reference id that are to be displayed in the master and 1 that is to be displayed in detail - line number. I've ruled out the option of using 2 EOs and 2 VOs because the PK cant be split across 2 tables. i am now considering a solution using a single EO and 2 VOs. Each VO can contain all attributes in the PK apart from those that are displayed in the master/detail table. Furthur a view link on external reference and reference id will acheive the master detail on the UI. However if in the physical table there are 2 records having different line numbers for a system reference and reference id pair then there is the problem of seeing duplicates in the master table of the UI. both the tables on the UI must be editable. Is there a way we could have a master detail UI on a flat table as in this case?
    Thanks,
    Sushmitha

  • Master/Detail report on same page.

    Hi, I am trying to put together a report (10g HTML DB) and can't seem to put together a master/detail report.
    I would like to have a header, something like
    Project Title -- Project Status etc... for each project. Then below this section
    Project Detail 1
    Project Detail 2
    Project Detail 3
    Loop through the projects
    It's just two tables. projects and details. Details has a fk project.id.
    I tried to do a Form -> Master Detail but it puts them on seperate pages and also allows the data to be edited. I don't need that, this is simply for display.
    This is something I can put together just creating an html table in an anonymous PLSQL block but if ability is there in HTML DB I should probably try it that way.

    Hi,
    This can be achieved by doing something like the following:
    Have a single SQL statement that joins the two tables together. eg,
    select p.project_title,
    d.project_detail1,
    d.project_detail2,
    etc
    from projects p
    inner join details d on d.project_id = p.project_id
    This will provide a flat table with the project title in the first column for all records.
    Then, in the Report Attributes, you need to switch on Column Breaks:
    In the Break Formatting section, set Breaks to "First Column"
    In the When displaying a break column use this format, enter #project_title#
    In the Identify how you would like your breaks to be displayed, select "Repeat headings on break"
    Finally, clear the "Show" tick for the project_title column
    There's probably something you could do to improve formatting etc, but this should give you a start.
    Regards
    Andy

  • Problem with Master -Details forms in seperate pages

    Hi ,
    Below is the scenario:
    I have Institution and a department tables where there is a foreign key relation between the tables. So now i have two entity objects for the 2 tables and 2 view objects(DepartmentView,InstitutionView) from the entity objects.
    I also have a view link between them.I made a master-detail relation between them in the datamodel using the view link.So my appmodule now has getters for the department view,institution view and viewlink.
    I now have a jsp page "createInstitution.jsp" which contains a form for the institution , i have a "next" button on the same jsp which calls a method in my appmodule class .This methods just inserts the record into the Institution view. In this method i am able to see what the user entered in the form by getting the viewrow record like the below code :
    InstitutionViewRowImpl newInstitutionRow=(InstitutionViewRowImpl) getInstitutionView().first();
    The next button navigates to the next page "listDepartments.jsp" which contains the list of departments that are added. This page has a button "Add Department" which takes to to the "addDepartment.jsp" page which shows a form for adding a department. This page also has a button which calls a method in app module class. The method just inserts the record into the view(DepartmentView)
    Here when i say
    DepartmentViewRowImpl newDepartmentRow=(DepartmentViewRowImpl ) getDepartmentView().first();
    the newDepartmentRow is null.
    Also on the addDepartment.jsp form , i had used a output field to see what the parent id was and interestingly the parent id is 75 which is first institution in the database. It should have been "-10" , a temporary id assigned.
    Can someone please tell me what is the problem with my approach?

    I don't understand why you are using a method on your button to insert the record into the table - An Oracle ADF Form will do the insert for you by default without any coding.
    See the create pages in these tutorials:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/cuecards/adf_set_21/ccset21_ALL.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/dev_ui/developuserinterface.html#t2s5
    The method that you are calling just returns the first record in the rowset - I don't see how it has anything to do with actually inserting the data into the table.

  • Auto Query in Master Detail Form using dynamic page doesn't work

    I created a Master-Detail form, and implement AutoQuery using a dynamic page
    with the following code :
    <HTML>
    <BODY>
    <ORACLE>DECLARE
    nre_ VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    nre_ := emp_nre;
    if nre_ is not null then
    net_portal.Popula_Agregados(nre_);
    net_portal.Popula_Docs_Agregados (nre_);
    htp.p('<iframe id=myFrame name="myFrame" frameborder=0 width="250%"
    height="300"
    src="/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=
    3
    388118140&p_arg_names=_show_header&p_arg_values=NO&p_arg_names=_cad_nre_cond&p_a
    rg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=cad_nre&p_arg_values='||nre_||'">
    </iframe>');
    end if;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    htp.p(SQLERRM);
    END;
    </ORACLE>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    It works fine when we access the first time to the page, but if i press the
    save button after inserting or updating a detail record, the header record is
    lost. How can i avoid this situation ?

    I changed query:
    select
    Replace(
    '<img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#ed-item.gif" border="0" alt="EditMap" usemap="#editmap***id***"></img>
    <map name="editmap***id***">
    <area shape="rect" coords="0,0,16,16" href="http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=&APP_ID.:'
    || decode ( type, 'FOLDER', '33', '22' )
    || ':&APP_SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P'
    || decode ( type, 'FOLDER', '33', '22' )
    || '_ID,P'
    || decode ( type, 'FOLDER', '33', '22' )
    || '_CALLING_PAGE:' || id || ',&APP_PAGE_ID." ></area></map>' ,
    '***id***', id
    ) Edit,
    id,
    type,
    name,
    decode ( type, 'FOLDER', 33, 22 ) target
    from tThe idea is - each img uses its own map.
    It works now.

  • Several reports on joined master-detail tables with single row source

    I have 1 master table (Fixed Assets) and several datail tables (Improvements, Depreciation, ...)
    I need to create several reports based on them all with criteria
    'Select ALL from Master and join details
    /1 total row from details for 1 master row/
    filtered by [on_date <= report_date]'
    How to do it better and not copy same code in every report?
    As mentioned on this forum, ApEx is not able to use RefCursor as row source for ApEx reports
    So I tried this Tom Kyte's example:
    create type apex_user.myRecordType as object
    (seq int,
    a int,
    b varchar2(10),
    c date
    Create Or Replace Type Apex_User.Mytabletype As Table Of Apex_User.Myrecordtype;
    create or replace function Apex_User.my_function return Apex_User.myTableType
    Is
    l_data Apex_User.myTableType;
    Begin
    l_data := Apex_User.myTableType();
    for i in 1..5
    loop
    L_Data.Extend;
    l_data(i) :=Apex_User.myRecordType(i, i, 'row ' || i, sysdate+i);
    end loop;
    Return L_Data;
    End;
    Select *
    from TABLE (cast(Apex_User.my_function() as Apex_User.mytableType))
    Where C > Sysdate+1
    Order By Seq Desc
    SEQ A B C
    5 5 row 5 22.08.2010
    4 4 row 4 21.08.2010
    3 3 row 3 20.08.2010
    2 2 row 2 19.08.2010
    4 Rows Selected
    - and it really works from ApEx reports.
    The questions are:
    1) is this the best solution for my task (one centralized code for several reports with parameter filtering detail tables)?
    2) how to change example properly to have here -
    loop
    L_Data.Extend;
    l_data(i) :=Apex_User.myRecordType(i, i, 'row ' || i, sysdate+i);
    end loop;
    - simple SELECT from my MASTER-DETAILS joined tables?

    Hi,
    if (row != null)
    Row masterRow = row;
    vo.setCurrentRow(masterRow);
    // not needed : getMesReponsesPourTiersVO1().executeQuery();
    You shouldnot execute the child VO after setting current row in master VO.
    When the current row is set in master VO, then the child rows will get refreshed automatically.

  • Three master detail on the same page

    Hi
    I generate master-detail pages (master and detail in the same page) and it works very well, but I can't generate three master detail (master-detail and the detail with other detail, three levels of tables) on the same page. How can I do it?
    Thanks in advance
    Liceth

    Liceth,
    You cannot generate this. You can add the third level post-generation using drag and drop.
