Master-Detail on multiple applets

Any help would be greatly appreciated....What I'm trying to do is to create 2 seperate applets with a master detal relationship. For example say in applet1 I have the scott.dept table and applet2 the scott.emp table. How can i link these 2 applets so that navigation in applet 1 affects the result in applet 2.
Thanks

I'm not sure how to do this with two separate applets, but you can do it with two separate panels (which may be displayed in separate frames).
Refer to the thread "Share sessionInfo?" for more info.

    I finally have gotten a chance to try this and it seemed to be working pretty well. Problem is when the xml file is large 14,246 KB, I get an error box with the following after about 2 minutes.
    ConfFile: C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config\xdoconfig.xml
    Font Dir: C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts

    RTFProcessor setLocale: en-us
    FOProcessor setData: I:\Application_Express\reports\stu_schedule_print_hampton.xml
    FOProcessor setLocale: en-us
    Under my processes there is a javaw.exe process eating up all my cpu, then after about 11 minutes the report will display.
    I see there is the data template version, but we are calling the report from APEX using apex_util.download_print_document and I do not know how to implement the data template in APEX.Hi,
    were you able to resolve this error? (Not the master detai report-multiple quesries, but the error you quoted in this post)
    My xml file is of *30,613KB* size.
    Even I am getting the same error when I try the preview the report through Template Builder
    and also, My original report is giving me a blank report. I have a standalone Bi Publisher environment which gathers data through SQL statement.
    How did you handle this?

  • Master/detail applet

    I've created a master/detail infobus applet with jdeveloper2.
    In the detail panel, I want to see multiple rows and therefore I used the gridcontrol component. However, this way I can't manipulate the columns (e.g. change one column into a combo box).
    Is there another way to create a multiple row detail block/frame (besides the grid control) that does allow me to manipulate the columns??
    Another question: does anyone know if there is documentation available somewhere on jdeveloper2 besides the help docs?

    Can u let me know, if u have found any solution to this.I am trying to do tha same.Master and detail in different pages..

  • Master-detail list - how to spread over multiple columns

    I am using the master-detail functionality to create a image viewer.
    I have a long list of master thumbnails, and rather than having them go down the page in one column, I would like to make them spread over 2 or 3 columns before the detail column.
    (example of format I am trying to achieve - http://www.franbainbridgephotography.com.au/gallery.html (I dont mind whether master thumbnails are on right or left of detail photo))
    You can see my problem on http://www.wcwra.com/webpages/images.php
    Is this possible with the master-detail functionality?
    Thank you!

    The brilliant David Powers has fixed this for me on the main forum (vw2ureg was v close).  David's answer is :
    There is no way of making a single dataset repeat in multiple columns, because it's simply one element being repeated over and over.
    However, with a little out of the box thinking, you can do it quite easily with thumbnails. Instead of putting the master column repeat region in a block level element, use an inline element, <span>. Images are treated by browsers as inline elements, so this should work just fine. Change the following code from this:
    <div spry:region="dsPhotos" class="MasterContainer">
        <div class="MasterColumn" spry:repeat="dsPhotos" spry:setrow="dsPhotos"
        spry:hover="MasterColumnHover" spry:select="MasterColumnSelected">{Caption}</div>
    </div>
    to this:
    <div spry:region="dsPhotos" class="MasterContainer">
        <span class="MasterColumn" spry:repeat="dsPhotos" spry:setrow="dsPhotos"
        spry:hover="MasterColumnHover" spry:select="MasterColumnSelected">{Caption}</span>
    </div>
    In your CSS, set the width of the MasterColumn class to the width of your thumbnails, and the width of MasterContainer so that it's wide enough to accommodate two or more thumbnails. The thumbnails will flow into the column two or three abreast.

  • How can I upload multiple files in a master detail relationship?

    I would like to be able to upload several files for one record (a one to many relationship). I tried using a master detail form, but the tabular form does not support file browse. I've searched the forum and found several examples asking how to upload multiple files at once. That is not what I'm trying to do. I simply want the user to browse, select a file, provide a file name and description. Then select the next file. When they are done selecting files (it may be one file or many files) I want them to hit the submit button and I'll run a procedure that saves the files to the database.
    How can I do this? Thanks, you guys are the best. Elizabeth

    Elizabeth,
    I had this situation come up once and here's what I did, thought it may not be exactly what you're looking for.
    I created a collection to store the ID's of the files that had been uploaded, along with the key and other information. The file browse input will upload your files into the wwv_flow_files table on submit. I was storing the documents in another application table.
    The after submit process grabs the id from wwv_flow_files where the name is = to your file input.
    After you add that ID and your associated master key in the collection, your final submit process fetches the files from wwv_flow_files and inserts them into your own table.
    I can put an example on apex.oracle.com if that would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Issue with multiple level master details

    Hi All,
    I just came around with following scenario and found it is not working as expected.
    GFVO ( Primary Key Attribute -> GFID )
    | ---- ViewLink between GFVO and ParentVO on attribute GFID
    Parent VO (PrimaryKey PID )
    | -- ViewLink between Parent VO and Child VO on attribute ATTR1
    ChildVO (PrimaryKey CID )
    Data ->
    GF VO has record -
    1 , xyz
    2 , abc
    Parent VO
    PID Name PGFID ATTR1
    1 ppp 1 1
    2 ttt 1 2
    3 lll 2 1
    4 kkk 2 2
    Child VO
    CID Name ATTR1
    1 cc1 1
    2 cc2 1
    3 cc3 2
    4 cc4 2
    Requirement is I want to show the name attribute of Parent in Child VO. I have used parent accessor exposed in child to display the name of the parent. When I use this multiple hierarchy in AM and run it I find the wierd result.
    Say I select Row (2 , abc) in GF VO.
    I should see below two rows in Parent Row.
    PID Name PGFID ATTR1
    3 lll 2 1
    4 kkk 2 2
    Now I select Row ( 3 lll 2 1 ) in Parent VO , it shows the following Child ROw I get this result -
    CID Name ATTR1 ParentName( accessed throug ViewAccessor)
    1 cc1 1 ppp
    2 cc2 1 ppp
    Gotcha ..... Parent Name ? I am assuming that when we try to access the parent through accessor it will give the parent row from the already filtered VO based on first Viewlink. Rather it requires and gives the first parent as if I m having a single join.
    Thanks,
    Rajdeep

    Hi,
    for a master-detail between tables you create a tree binding each. Assuming the data model you defined contains the three view objects in a hierarchy, you simple drag the parent, then the first child and then the second child as a table to teh view. You then configure the PartialTriggers property of child2 table to point to child1 and parent table. The child 1 table partial triggers property will point to the parent table. This should make the m/d work. If on the server you want to use accessors in the code to get to the details of a child (on the client I would use the iterator binding in the PageDef file), make sure you access the correct instance of the ViewOject

  • About having multiple blank  rows on master detail form

    Can I have multiple blank rows on detail form when I create master detail form?

  • Insert multiple row of BLOB using Master Detail Form

    Hi,
    I try to insert multiple photos in a master detail form (just like we upload attachments when sending email), but it seems that the Tabular Form doesn't support adding a row with BLOB. I have searched the User's Guide and API Reference, but no answer on this issue.
    Anyone can help?
    regards,
    Wei

    Many thanks,
    I find another way. I released the FK of these two tables and used the code:
    Insert into PRODUCT_INFO (TITLE) values(:P1_TITLE);
    IF ( :P1_PHOTO1 is not null ) THEN
    INSERT INTO PRODUCT_IMG(PHOTO, MIMETYPE, PROPERTY_ID)
    SELECT blob_content,mime_type, "PRODUCT_INFO_SEQ".currval
    FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE name = :P1_PHOTO1;
    DELETE from APEX_APPLICATION_FILES WHERE name = :P1_PHOTO1;
    END IF;
    IF ( :P1_PHOTO2 is not null ) THEN
    INSERT INTO PRODUCT_IMG(PHOTO, MIMETYPE, PROPERTY_ID)
    SELECT blob_content,mime_type, "PRODUCT_INFO_SEQ".currval
    FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE name = :P1_PHOTO2;
    DELETE from APEX_APPLICATION_FILES WHERE name = :P1_PHOTO2;
    END IF;
    The disadvantage is that I have to set a certain number of items for inserting photos; the max numbers of uploaded photos cannot decided by users.
    Regards.

  • ADF: multiple master/details on one page

    Hi forum,
    A colleague of mine has a BC4J object that needs to display a tree-like structure on a JSP. The tree is only two tuples deep, but there can be multiple children for each main node, ie something like this:
    xxx this is a 'master'
    xyyy this is a detail
    xyyy this is a detail
    zzz this is a 'master'
    zyyy this is a detail
    zyyy this is a detail
    Is there an easy way to do this by dragging/dropping the view object control unto the JSP canvas? The only thing they can seem to make work is one master with several details, not multiple masters each with several details.
    JDev 9.0.5.16.27 (can't be helped)
    tnx in advance

    PPR to the rescue!
    Try changing the singleSelection element to include your additional field in it's targets list. eg:
    <singleSelection
      model="${bindings.OtherView1Iterator}"
      text="Select and ">
      <primaryClientAction>
        <firePartialAction
             targets="_uixState MyOtherFantasticField"
             source="OtherView112"
             event="select"/>
      </primaryClientAction>
    </singleSelection>And you'll need to add an id to your field such as:
    <messageTextInput
      model="${bindings.blah}"
      id="MyOtherFantasticField"/>Hope this helps.

  • Can there be multiple Master Detail Views, if yes then how? Please suggest

    Dear All,
    In first master-detail view, I have a button, which when clicked will trigger the second detail view.
    I tried invoking second master detail view but was not able to see the second master view. Could you please guide as to how to go about this.
    Thanks.

    Do a Google search. Here's one link.

    Quantity
    Rate
    Interest_Percent
    Service_Charge
    Vat_Tax_Percent
    The Relation is like
    Between BILL_HEAD and BILL_TAIL is Master Details Relation
    Between BILL_TAIL and BILL_TAIL_DET is one to one relation
    In single form i am not able to insert record.
    If i build Master details between BILL_HEAD and BILL_TAIL, BILL_TAIL and BILL_TAIL_DET, when i run the for to insert data.
    I will put the data for BILL_HEAD data
    For this parent record there will be child record in BILL_TAIL block.
    For this BILL_TAIL parent record there may be a child record in BILL_TAIL_DET or may not. Suppose i put a child in BILL_TAIL_DET.
    Then i wanted put one more child record in BILL_TAIL block, if i say next record, it is asking me to "save the record first".
    Please help me in this regards

  • Parsing XML document with nested elements into multiple db tables(master-detail)

    Can you help me with storing xml document into master-detail tables?
    I have two tables:
    1) customers (customerid number primary key, firstname varchar2(30),lastname varchar2(30))
    2) cust_addresses (customerid number references customers, street varchar2(30),city varchar2(30),state varchar2(10),zip varchar2(10))
    I have XML document:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <ROWSET>
    <ROW num="1">
    <CUSTOMERID>1044</CUSTOMERID>
    <FIRSTNAME>Paul</FIRSTNAME>
    <LASTNAME>Astoria</LASTNAME>
    <HOMEADDRESS>
    <STREET>123 Cherry Lane</STREET>
    <CITY>SF</CITY>
    <STATE>CA</STATE>
    <ZIP>94132</ZIP>
    </HOMEADDRESS>
    <HOMEADDRESS>
    <STREET>N.Fryda 4</STREET>
    <CITY>CB</CITY>
    <STATE>CZ</STATE>
    <ZIP>37005</ZIP>
    </HOMEADDRESS>
    </ROW>
    </ROWSET>
    I know that I must use DBSM_XMLSave package, create view and instead of trigger but I did found no example in documentation.
    Thanx.

    Interested question; one I do not know the answer to at the moment, I am afraid. I would like to know your results.
    To tell others, though, what I have done. I did finally adapt Muench's not-yet-published examples #71 to work with a table. Here the table has as it's value "#{backing_app_EPG_DAYPG.jobDayDriverTable[row.Id1]}"
    This accesses a hash map defined in the backing bean as follows:
    public Map jobDayDriverTable = new HashMap(){
    @Override
    public Object get(Object key) {
    Number jobDayId = (Number)key;
    if (getEpgDayPage().jobDayDrivers(jobDayId) != null) {
    return getEpgDayPage().jobDayDrivers(jobDayId).getAllRowsInRange();
    else return null;
    jobDayDrivers returns RowIterator. From this I call getAllRowsInRange which returns a Row[]. The table consumes this as a value, and lists the values as I want.
    Since the table is using Rows for its rows, I am guessing that it would have access to #{row.rowKeyStr}, or at least #{row.<pk>} which would allow you to programmatically set the current row using code like the following:
    public static boolean setCurrentRow() {
    // BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding =
    // bindings.getOperationBinding("setCurrentRowWithKey");
    (OperationBinding)EL.get("#{bindings.setCurrentRowWithKey}");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
    return false;
    return true;
    You could call this as part of code in a pages backing bean behind a button or link.
    Hope this helps somebody.
    By the way example #71 was to get a detail set of rows from a master row value and display the detail set in the master row of an af:table.
    You can find this and other examples at http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html

  • Synchronizing Iterators for master view with multiple detail - how to ?

    New to JDeveloper (from Forms) and after an introduction a week or so back, one question I have not yet answered with the ADF framework is how to synchronize iterators. Maybe I missed something simple, but if I have master table A with FK relations from detail tables B and C expressed as view objects and view links in the Model tier, when I package these up into the Application Module / Data Controls it seems I have 2 iterators for table A - one for it and it's detail set B, and another for it and it's detail set C.
    So then, if I drag & drop one of the A data controls onto a page (say from the A-B link) as a read-only-table, my PPR actions from this table work on components derived from this same data control hierarchy - ie: on detail B. But to effect a change in the other detail relationship A-C, and components based on C, seems to mean moving this second iterator on A programmatically.
    How is this generally achieved using the ADF ? I've seen content about chaining master-detail-detail, but this is really master-detail(xN). View links only ever specify 2 tables. It seems I need to put some code in somewhere to move associated iterators when another iterator is moved.
    Also, is there an equivalent java code-point for the when-new-record-instance - ie: when an iterator moves to a different record, whether that be new or not. Not being able to find it thus far, I've put code in the executeQuery of the detail VO which fires when I need it, but there must be a better place.
    Thanks for the help.

    You can manipulate your AM Data Model so both details will be under the same master (as long as there are viewLinks from the master to both).
    Then you can drag them to the page and add PPR as described here:

  • Need help joining one master folder to multiple 1:n detail folders

    I'm trying to query a master folder with two detail folders. Both master-detail joins are 1:N.
    Discoverer keeps giving me results with duplicate records when i try to do this, which is a fan trap I think?
    How can I get around this? I need all 3 tables to be joined.

    i need to do left outer joins from the master to both detail tables and combine the results.
    The query I basically tried was:
    select m.summaryText, m.dateFiled, d1.extraComments, d2.location
    from reports m
    left outer join comments d1 on m.id=d1.id
    left outer join extraData d2 on m.id=d2.id
    This still gave me duplicate records in the results. How can you join all three and merge them without duplicates?
    Thanks for trying to help...

  • Having multiple level of master/detail with data tags

    Hi,
    Here is a Database Model for the purpose :
    - An EMPLOYEE is in one and only one DEPT
    - a DEPT has several EMPLOYEEs
    Suppose that:
    - An EMPLOYEE come from one and only one SCHOOL which is in a SCHOOL table
    - a SCHOOL have educated several EMPLOYEEs
    Suppose that:
    - A SCHOOL is part of one and only one SCHOOL_CATEGORY (Engineer school for example)
    - A SCHOOL_CATEGORY concerns several SCHOOL
    I would like to show a JSP page containing :
    Employees for DEpt : 12456
    table headers:
    Employee ID | Employee Name | School Name | School Category Name
    as you can see we have a master/detail between Master view DEPT and Detail view EMPLOYEE and EMPLOYEE is master for School which is detail view for employee and school category is detail view for school which is master for school category ! (do you follow me ? ;-))
    Do you see my concerns ??
    How do we do that whith data tags ??
    Thank's a lot for you help...
    It's urgent...

    Hi,
    I guess you are trying to achieve this using BC4J if so then you can modify your view object for employee so as to have School and category listed when you base your datatags on that view.
    You would need to modify your view object query by using expert mode.
    Thanks
