Master/sub form using JSP

HI :
i am working in an JSP project as my first real start
i have an master form and there is an related form (the same concept as in oracle).
and i need to make update to any filed weather it where in master form or sub form i can do that by insert update button , but the problem is that i need to make on each (master / sub form) an update button and this is not effictive way.
so can i make just one update button which can make any update to any field weather it where in master or sub form .

You can insert, delete, and update rows.

How to execute the second data block in master child form using lov

Hi All,
i am developed a new custom master child form using stacked canvas.Here i am taking two frames with diffrent data blocks.my point is i am enter the value from the lov in first frame automatically execute the second frame data block without button.
example:
fisrtdatablock:dept no(dept table).
second datablock:employee information(emp table).
select the dept value from lov automatically execute the second data block emp information.
can help me any one.

Your forms mode isn't clear. Is it in enter-query mode or insert mode.
what can you do ?
use a timer in post-change or when-validate-item trigger at deptno item at first data block. because go_block isn't supported by p-c or w-v-t trigger.
and at when timer expire, write your code to go second block and insert/query the associate date from emp table.

Auto Query in Master Detail Form using dynamic page doesn't work

I created a Master-Detail form, and implement AutoQuery using a dynamic page

It works fine when we access the first time to the page, but if i press the
save button after inserting or updating a detail record, the header record is

Which type of page (blank , form , ....) should i select in order to create a master - detail form (dept - emp tables on SCOTT schema) in one and just one page (no tabs)...????
And also . . . is it possible the above form to be used for both inserts , updates and deletes...????

Here is some code that creates xml for any SQL that returns a ResultSet. Note this uses my default out-of-the-box XML template, but you can quickly create and use your own templates to generate xml to look anyway you desire.

Insert new row to master - detail form using bindingsource

I have a form to analyse price of product, the form include master (textbox:slip ID,datetimepicker : date) and detail(datagridview:slipID,productID,price..)
When I insert new row as below code, all inserted to DB but not show on form, I must close and reopen the form the new row will show, how i must to do to fix it

Hello,
The base idea here is if the record is added successfully you would then get the new primary key then manually add the record to the underlying data source. Does not matter if we are talking a single table or a master-detail setup.

All of the above is done without using a DataSet yet the same thing needs to happen with a DataSet, simply focus on the one table.

How to create an online examination form using JSP

I want to create an online examination form where user get 20 objective type question:
Problems :
1. Whenever a user login he/she will get randomly 20 questions from a bank of 100 questions with options.
2. When he submit the answers we will check for correct answers and find out the score say like if each question carry 5 marks and if he has 10 correct answer then his score is 50.

Do you mean a form connected to a MasterData Object with multiple childs?
If so:
1. Create a new ScreenPainter form;
2. Add a Folder item for each of the childs;
3. Add a new matrix to each of the childs and change their PaneLevel to from 1 to N (N = number of childs you have);
If your code you then need to catch item pressed event for the Folder Items and change the form's Pane Level accordingly.

Master Detail Form - Problem using built in wizard

We are working on Application express 2.2.
We are facing problems for a master detail form using Wizard. The
details are as follows : >>
1) Master table : TS_ENTRY_TXN
trans_id P.K.
2) Detail table : TS_ENTRY_TXN_DETAIL
a)trans_id
b)sub_trans_id Composite P.K.(trans_id,sub_trans_id) & these are
based on sequences.
If i try to build a master detail form using the Wizard, the options
for providing P.K. for master & detail are listed which we used.
As it is a master detail form, we want to carry trans_id to the detail
for updations/insertions which doesn't happen.
The MRU fails with oracle error :

If I'm reading this correctly, then one of the columns in your detail tables' primary key is also the foreign key pointing to your master table? If that's the case, then that's not supported by the wizard. For the wizard generated master-detail form to work properly, you'll have to have a foreign key column in your detail table which is not part of your detail table's primary key.

i have create Master detail form using datacontrol drag as ADF Master Form Detail Table.
Now when i create a new row in Detail table using CreateInsert button a blank new row created on the top of detail table.
and other row show that data of previous record based on master.
problem is that i want when i click on createInsert button all row of detail table should be blank and when user fill two or three row then commit.

Hi,
if a detail table has data, then createInsert adds to these. If you want to hide existing rows, create a new View Object instance and set its "Retrieve from the Database" option to "No Rows". The use an af:switcher to change the table shown when the user clicks the createInsert button. There is a bit of coding required to have this use case in ADF, but its mostly declarative. Bottom line is that there is no automated option other than creating new rows in a separate page or dialog if you are bothered by existing rows

How to create a form with jsp

I want to create an HTML form using jsp.
It has a couple of selection boxes. The options for the selection box needs to be read from a file.
As I understand it can create the form in HTML. And somhow uses jsp to read a file on the server get, the data and create selection box. I can have a class on the server side that does the actual read - forexample
SelData.class.
Would appreciate it if some one can outline how this is done.

Bind variable in Master Detail form

Is there any way to go to a specific master record (bind variable) and it's associated detail information in a master detail form using a link from another report?

I suspect that he may have the same question I do. Namely, if I have four tables (employees, projects, tasks, and project_assignments) how do I create a master detail form where I can specify the project and the employee via LOVs? The project_assignments table contains foreign keys for employee, project, and task, as well as additional fields relating to the task status.
Currently, I have it set up so that the employee name can be selected and the project is hard coded to the current project.
Is there an easy way to populate the detail records based on two LOVs in the master form?

Can't get Sub-forms to Display in Right order

Hello there
I have a strange issue with the positioning of a series of sub-forms using Designer 8.2.1.3144.
I have the following (schematic) structure
(Top Level Sub-form)
Sub-form 1
Label 1.1
Label 1.2
Sub-form 2
Sub-form 2.1
Test 2.1.1
Label 2.1.2
Sub-form 2.2
Fragment 2.2.1
Fragment 2.2.2
The fragments themselves have the following structure:
(Top Level Fragment, e.g. Fragment 2.2.1)
Text F1
Floating Field F1.1
Floating Field F1.2
Label F1
Sub-form F1
(Lots of fields and sub-forms)
The fragments themselves are quite long, typically more than a page. Whatever I do, Sub-form 1 (and its labels 1.1 and labels 1.2) are always shown at the top of the final page in print preview, typically breaking up a fragment. Try as I might, I cannot get them to be placed at the very top of the first page (as per the order in the design). I have tried a variety of ways to address the issue, including changing the positioning (flowed \ positioned etc.), and have played around with the keep with next and Allow page break within context settings, all to no effect.
Any ideas much appreciated.

Rather strangley, I made some obstensibly unrelated changes to these fragments and the issue seems to have gone away.
Never really got to the root of the problem, but am not going to worry about it unless it reappears.
