Matching cameras in cs6 prem pro.

Canon hfg10, 60d, hfm56, i belive in fcp you can click a button and it matches all camera colours, can this be done in cs6 prem pro.

There's no such button in Premiere Pro, but there is a shot matching tool in Speedgrade CC:
http://helpx.adobe.com/speedgrade/using/whats-new.html
It's not a hardware-referenced correction so it doesn't actually match 'cameras' - instead it looks at the spectra of each shot and tries to work out the differences between tints on shadows/midtones/highlights. You can't feed it a GoPro sweeping landscape and an Alexa interior headshot, but if the two frames depict roughly the same content it does quite a good job. You can then save the correction data for each camera as a 'look', and back in Premiere Pro CC that look can be applied to all the other bits of footage via the Lumetri effect.
If you want an absolute 'reset' of each clip back to a reference standard, again you'll need to use Speedgrade; this time with the aid of a Macbeth chart. That workflow is a lot more complicated as it was only designed to work with cinema hardware. There is a hacky workaround using Lightroom and the X-Rite plugin:
Export a still frame showing a Colorchecker card,
Import to Lightroom as a DNG file,
Use Lightroom & X-Rite to make a DNG calibration profile,
'Develop' the still frame so the chips are now accurate (and set your expoure and luma end points),
At this point you could save the develop preset and apply it to other video files in Lightroom's Library module but you'd have to transcode your footage and Lr's video export options are limited to say the least.
If you want to use the 'calibration' back in Premiere, it gets fun:
Send the developed DNG to Photoshop and export as a TARGA file,
Import the TARGA to Speedgrade CC, then shot-match your video of the Colorchecker to this still frame (here's where you lose a lot of accuracy as the shot matcher isn't comparing each color chip, only the RGB curves),
Save the correction data as a .look,
Apply back in Premiere with the Lumetri effect.

  • M2T missing audio in CS6 prem pro

Hi can any one help: I use a data video DN60 on a Canon XLh1a, the bins are coped on to the hard drive and imported in to prem pro using the media browser, some of the clips have audio missing some times all of the audio or just part of it, also some times some of the video is missing with prem pro giving a MPG decode error massage, I have searched the forum and most of the comments seem to refer  to CS 5.5. this is the first time I have used the data video DN60, most of the time a have captured via tape, with no problems with sound but have had the MPG decode error massage. All the files play back using windows player with no problems.

Hi All just got an answer back from Holden the UK dealer for Datavideo see below:
    Hello Malcolm,
Datavideo R&D USA say they believe there may be an issue with Adobe CS5 and CS6 versions of software handling PCM audio in SD MXF files and encoded audio in HDV M2T files. This is something which should be discussed with Adobe support as we believe it is the NLE software not the DN-60 at issue here. We know Grass Valley EDIUS and FCP both handle these DN-60 files correctly. Your tests with Windows Media Player and VLS player appear to support this too.
    So it’s up to Adobe
Thanks for the help and advice will now get onto Adobe for their response.
Do’s anyone know how to contact Adobe, there seems to be no E-mail address?

  • Warp Stabilizer wobble cs6 prem pro

Any one tell me how to use the dam thing as everytime i use it, it creates a huge wobble wave effect??? steve

As Ann says, knowing what the source material is would make answering a lot easier.
What you describe sounds like the results from a source video shot with rocks/cliffs etc which you want to be static with moving sea in the shot?  If so, you will find that the jelly effect is very hard to avoid.  The problem is even worse if the shot was taken from a boat.
The new Premiere Warp Stabiliser does a better job on this kind of shot than any of the half dozen other stabilisers I have used in the past.

  • Using DNxHD via prem pro Cs6

How do I download, import, edit with DNxHD via Prem pro CS6 or Media encoder. Just talked with Avid who deny DNxHD can be used with Adobe which I know is not the case?

When you encode to DNxHD out of Adobe Suite, choose 'RGB Level' while encidong to DNxHD 4:2:2
and '709' while encoding to DNxHD 4:4:4
Do not interfere with the Depth settings in the Export Settings dialog box.
P.S. If you don't see options for Avid codecs within QuickTime Format after installing Avid QT package on Windows, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents folder, copy all .qtx files and paste them into C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem folder - now QuickTime will be able to find them.

  • I have a Sony NEX-VG10, edit with Prem Pro and am having serious capturing issues.

I recently purchased the Sony NEX-VG10 and am really excited about it.  I have run into some serious problems capturing the footage, though.  I have a 2010 iMac, am running OSX 10.8.2  Mountain Lion and use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to edit.  I've discovered that the files on the camera are .MTS, a file format with which I am unfamiliar (not surprising, I'm not exactly a newb, but the past few months is the first time I've started editing seriously - I am more a writer/director/producer and could do basic stuff with FC7 and Prem Pro - now I own my own production company and am getting down to the nitty gritty).
    But I have found that
    1. I can't capture using bridge, it doesn't recognize the file format.
    2. When I plug the camera into the computer and go straight to the files, I don't even get individual files.  All the information is contained in what looks like a Quicktime movie, but isn't recognized by Quicktime or any other program as anything.
    3.  When I go into the camera files using the import function in Premiere Pro, I find the individual .MTS files - which say they are Unix Executable files (no idea what that means), I can import them into PP, but the quality is atrocious.  Grainy and pixely.  Even when viewing them in full res playback mode.
    4. I bought Bigasoft Total Video converter (wicked cool program).  I import the files using PP, then go find them in this program, and convert them into .mov files - the quality is still atrocious (not surprised, as the .mts files look cruddy, what could I expect when I converted them - but was worth a try).
I need to capture these files in full quality (oh - the file information says they are in 1920 x 1080 (1.0), so it's not like I filmed in a low res.
The software that came with the camera is for PCs, I've searched for answers to these problems, and although I've found similar, I can't find anything that actually helps me.  Can anyone out there tell me exactly what to do?!?  I would be most appreciative.  My new company's success depends on it!

If you'll type mts into the search field for these communities, you will see a plethora of threads on the subject - I was going to link to one, but there are so many, it'd be best for you to read through several. In any case, of note is the fact that you might be able to import into iMovie directly as long as you do not shoot in 50/60 fps - in order to be able to read it, it has to be either 30fps for NTSC or 24 for PAL.
Not sure if the frames per second problem has anything to do with your lousy quality problem, but it might. The other concern is that Sony has not and does not really play nice with anything Apple - that was one of the reasons I chose a Canon.

  • How to mask out unwanted objects in locked-off shots in Prem Pro CS5.5

    hello,
I have Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection.
I am editing a short film on Prem Pro and on some of the locked-off shots where the camera doesn't move there are objects in shot, such as boom mic, that I want to get rid of by painting over them with what would be in the background (either by taking similar background from background nearby or by taking the background before/after the object moves into shot).
I have no idea how to go about this or what software to use. Should/could I do it all in just Prem Pro or would it need to be done in After Effects and or Photoshop or a combination of some or all of these.
If someone could point me in the right direction or recommend an article/articles or book to read to learn how to achieve this then that would be great.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have attached JPGs from 3 clips.
Clip one had the mic visible to the left at the bottom of the shot and also at time the woman's leg goes behind it (example b)
Clip two has a computer monitor just visible through the door at the bottom left corner of the shot.
Clip three, set in park, has a crew member's coat-tie flapping in and out of shot. Example A without it in shot and example B with it in shot.
Help on how to deal with these or advice on books to read to help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • HELP! Prem Pro Upload Driver Issues

Running the 1month trial of Prem Pro CS6 - and still not able to launch.
    The exact error message reads:
"Adobe Prem Pro could not find an capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers, and start again."
I run ATI mobility Radeon premium graphics and according to my Samsung Chronos 7 laptop all drivers are up to date.
Any help / advices gratefully recieved. Thank you!!

Unfortunately, many laptop mfgrs. rewrite the video drivers, and when they do, the nVidia, or ATI/AMD drivers will not install. Toshiba commonly does this, as do many others. I do not know Samsung, but it appears that they use a proprietary version of the ATI/AMD driver, so you are at their mercy, to issue new drivers. I hope that they are better than Toshiba was, as they seldom issued video driver updates. For about 5 years, I had to use a Web site, to customize the nVidia drivers, to fool the laptop into thinking that it was from Toshiba: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers With that Toshiba Satellite, I was able to update my nVidia drivers, about every month. Do not know if it will work with Samsung, and ATI/AMD drivers though.
    Good luck,

  • How to output back to Prem pro

Help, I am new to SG and can't seem to get an output file that works. Not helped by the fact I have  not got my head  round the pro/cons of different file formats. (hey I only got this prog about a week ago ..) I have benn asked by a client to produce a 30 sec advert, which he then wants to put on an Android tablet and give to customers.
I have created the advert, edited it in PP and output it to SG where I have made all the colour corrections. V happy so far, but when it comes to output, I seem to end up with a huge dpx file (30secs =7GB) and this file wont re open in Prem pro. i get the error message:" this file has no video/audio streams." Can anyone suggest where i am going wrong, or is it possible to output a file  from SG that will play on an Android tablet directly? : seems to be very little on web about this. FYI my client flies to brazil in 4 days , so pressure here is mounting ! Thanks in advance,
    simon

    Hi Dennis,
Still got a problem. I have imported my vid into SG and it plays OK (with sound). I add my vignette etc, and go to SG output.
When i render using the preset panel : AVI> full frame(uncompressed> frame rate 24. I get an output file of 4G  size , which looks good but has no audio.
When i output using preset panel: Quicktime > animation> uncompressed>  I get an output file that looks awful: colours washed out, low contrast etc. but does have audio.
    Other presets I tried were:
Quicktime >png 25fps, gives choppy playback and takes ages to render out.
and Quicktime >H.264, 2 passes, gives ok image but no audio
and Native MOV> (apple uncompressed) gives ok image but no audio.
Finally tried a Quicktime> MPEG4 video> 25FPS setting and that DOES give sound, but the picture is all washed out again!!!
Really getting frustrated here; can you give me a clue as to why these .mov files  wont play with sound?
    Fast machine, 16 g Ram, CS6, windows 7.
    Thanks
    Simon
FYI if i create a MPeg 4 file from Prem Pro, it plays fine and looks ok, just doesnt have the vignette that i need.

  • Upgrade Prem Pro 6 to Prem elements... which one???

    Hello everyone.
I have been working on Prem Pro (version 6.0 or 6.5) for years now but I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and I know that this software is too old the run on Windows 7. I was wondering if anyone knows what is the closest Prem Elements software to Prem pro 6.0/ 6.5 that will work on Windows 7?
    Many thanks!!!

You do have the "full version" of what was completely rewritten at Pr 7.0/PrPro 1.0. There is still some confusion, as to what Pr 70/PrPro 1.0 was. It seems that the program was released as Pr (no PRO) 7.0 for OEM installations, and the commercial product took the new name Premiere Pro, and was 1.0. To make these matters worse, there was a small release of a program named Premiere Pro 7.0, and I have seen pictures of the box and CD case with that name on it, though almost no one at Adobe knows any details of that. I assume that Pr 7.0, PrPro 7.0 and PrPro 1.0, are all pretty much the same program, and was a total rewrite of the code from Pr 6.5.
Now, PrElements went from PrE 4.0 to PrE 7.0, with no 5.0, or 6.0, to get the version numbers up to match the often companion program, Photoshop Elements, which had jumped ahead of PrE by a couple of numbers.
To your question, the long gone PrE 3.0 was probably the closest in look and feel to your Pr 6.0. With PrE 4.0, the interface introduced a radical change to a "cleaner and sleeker" look, but one that I found difficult to grasp, as I was used to PrPro, up to 2.0. After several years, I still have to hunt around PrE to find things, that come so naturally in PrPro.
You will be looking at PrE 9.0, as has been stated, and it has added power, over previous versions. However, the interface is much more streamlined, than Pr/PrPro's. This will take some getting used to. Also, functions, like Export, have been moved about and some of the terms/names have changed. Though one might be an "old hand" at Adobe NLE work, I would strongly suggest picking up a copy of Steve Grisetti's book on PrE 9. That will flatten the learning curve greatly. Most of the general operations remain, but now look quite different, and some of the familiar operations have been moved and often renamed.
If you like Pr 6.0, do not plan on doing HD work, especially with material from a DSLR, or AVCHD, then John T. has a suggestion that should get Pr 6.0 working on your new OS. Two other options are to upgrade to PrPro CS5 (think that it's US$299 from the Adobe Store, upgrading from Pr 6.0), or PrE 9, the current version. Between you and me, I'd opt for CS5, even at more than 2x the price, but that is just me, as I really like the interface and additional power of PrPro.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Prem Pro is reading different clips all as the same one!?!

Since a recent update to Prem Pro CC, a project I was working on (doing some multicam editing) has gone very wrong. I opened it, after the update, to find that Prem Pro is reading the clips on the timeline incorrectly. It is showing all the clips in a row as the same clip.
So to explain that a bit clearer, I imported clips from the Canon camcorder we recorded a show on to, dragged them to the timeline. There were multiple clips from a recording of a show that had the camera continuously recording for approx an hour and a half, creating lots of files the same length and size. Then I imported the second cameras clips on to another video track and synced them with the first, then the final third set of clips from the third camera. Synced everything up, then started multicamera editing. Everything was going fine.
But, after the update, for some unknown reason the clips were all displaying as the same clip. So it starts the show fine, then as soon as the second clip starts playing its reading the file as though its looking at the first clip. It then reads the third, fourth, fifth clip all the same, and so on. It does this for each camera, so camera ones clips, all 20 clips for exmaple all read as though they are clip one from that camera. Camera two's clips do the same thing respectively and the same for camera three.
So all my editing is currently wasted and I'm stuck, as I can't seem to get Prem Pro to read the files correctly. I've tried loading the project up in 3 other computers. two of those had the update and also didn't work, the third computer hadn't had the update and it read the files fine. Unfortunately that third computer is someone elses and they can not lend it to me to finish the project off unfortunately.
Any help? Or ideas on how to solve this and not waste the editing I've already done?
    Cheers,
    Phil

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Just to confirm with you, I wasn't using a workaround before the update, I simply imported the clips the same way I've always done and never encountered any problems before (hence why I continued to use the same method). So before the update, there was no issues and no workaround needed. I was simply multicam editing as I normally would. The, after the update, I loaded the porject and the files were being read incorrectly.
If it's reading clips correctly now, what do I need to do to get Prem Pro to see the clips on the timeline correctly and and not have to do all my multicam editing again?
I have seen the link you sent to a similar post, and I am considering rolling back to 7.0.1 just to solve it!!
    Thanks in advance.
