Material propose in PO
Hi All,
If I purchase a certain material (xyz), I always need to purchase product ABC also.
Is this possible? How to setup?
Can anybody please tell me or you can do this within purchasing?

I observed this in Sales.
Example: Sales order for Cell phone, which include changer, battery etc.
But in procurement so far i never come across this.I think it is not possible with standard configuration.With Technical development, use of userexist may be possible.YOu have maintain some z-table for requirement of material ABC when you procure xyz.Userexist should pass ABC to PO by referring the z-table.

Hello!
Our client requests the functionality on Sales Order, when entering a product number, the system to suggest the alternative item. Something like a window pop-up with proposal of the other item, matched somewhere in the table as the substitute.
Product Proposal and Material exclusion lists are useless in this case. Variant configuration requires material tyle KMAT which is out of consideration.
Do you know any other way to do it? Preferably standard....

BeaI think you can use Material Determination for this purpose.
You create a material determination record using T Code VB11. Material entered - Material determined - Substitution reaosn 0001.
If you need any other specific tables / access sequences you can use the condition technique for the material determination.
In the Substitution reasons definition ( T Code OVRQ) , for 0001 , in the column "Strategy" select A.
Now you can try processing an order and you will get the popup with selections

Valuation Type for material proposed in PR
Hello,
For a material with valuation category for split valuation, and purchase requisitions created from MRP through reorder point, I have niticed that when there is a source list with a fixed vendor, and an info record with this vendor, that contains a valuation type, this valuation type is not transferred to the relevant field in the PR (Purch Requisition), when PR is generated from MRP. Also , the info record info is not filled in the MRP-created PR, but only the fixed vendor.
So, is it so that the valuation type is not coming from the info record, in this case? Is it manually, the only way to fill up the valuation type in the Purch requisition?
Obviously, valuation type is later maintained in the PO phase, but I was wondering which are the possibilities in the PR.

Your answer is correct. Val type does not come from info record to MRP created PRs, even there is a fixed vendor in the PR, coming from source list.
But, this happens in the PO, that val type is an obligatory field, for a split valuated material.
In PR, it can only be maintained manually, I guess. -
Inquiry and Quotation and Sales Order creation

1. I like to confirm that Alternative Products in a Quotation means Material proposal configured and not sub-items ?
2. Please help to confirm (as I have no access to SAP system):
a. when creating a Quotation with reference to an Inquiry, its Not possible to select via selection list , to copy only the sub-items (like Free Goods item / BOM sub-items / subitems inserted manually that reference the main item using the sub-item numbering) into the quotation or sales order. Or can the main item only be selected for copy or Must both be selected?
b. An order can Not reference a quotation that has a valid to-date in the past because the validity has legal implications.

I read the note provided.
It is referring to BOM structure and copy controls and a bug related to not allowing to copy the sub items of a Bom and only the main is copied.
So, is it true that Alternative items includes both manual selection list of materials from material determination, auto material substitiution as well as sub-items of a BOM material?
So, when there is no Bug, can i conclude that
copy control allows copying of both the alternative items as well as the main items? Everything can be copied.

In consistency during Batch Derivation in Process Order

During Batch Derivation in process order, multiple old batches of sender material proposing even though actually only single Batch of sender material determined, and transferring the characteristic values from old batches to the Receiver material which is in-correct. (I am working with SAP ECC 6.0)

Mostly the problem is caused by default value 99 here. You can check and
change the value in transaction DVR2.

Free good item proposal by considering material group
Hi,
I have some requirement to set up free goods by material group.
For example:
Material 1 - Drink 1 1500 ml.
Material 2 - Drink 2 1500 ml.
Material 3 - Drink 3 1500 ml.
If customer buy either Material 1 or Material 2 or Material 3 10 Each, they will received free goods 1 Each. How can I do this?
As I have maintain customized key combination for free good condition record material group wise i.e. in "NA00" and maintained condition record for free goods master by material group but in sales order entry, system will consider free goods by Material Code not Material Group.
Like the above scenario, is it possible that a sales order of
Material A1 - 3 pieces
Material A2- 5 pieces
Material A3- 2 pieces
will propose me a free goods item for 1 piece since the qty sums up to 10.
Can the above requirement be configured in SAP??
Please help with your valuable inputs and suggestions in std SAP.

Multiple Line item proposal in SAP based on return reason for Material Serv
Hi,
I have a requirement in which the customer returns the faulty material for repair, the company does the inspection of the material and sends the faulty material to the External vendors for Repairing.
External Vendor after repairing sends the material back to the company, which is then returned back to the customer.
I want to understand , is it possible in SAP to have a sales document created with different line items (One for the material returned from the customer, one for the Material to be send to the external vendor for repairing , and one for the material to be returned back to customer after repairing)
Is it possible to have this proposal automatically based on return reason in SAP ?

I think you are trying to amalgamate 3 processes which is quite ambitious by all means :). However in my past experience we have been able to track these articles but playing around using the standards. Customer return was a process through which an article was brought in a seperate storage location for repair and was sent out for repair using sub contracting process, after repair it was again sent out to the customer with the sales process. Of course there were quite a few physical processes that were needed to support this. We started to think but than refrained ourselves from using batches and serial numbers for this.

I have created a dynamic product proposal using the customer material information record CMIR as the source. During sales order entry the product proposal sorts by material number and due to the number of materials in the CMIR the business would like to be able to sort by material description to streamline material selection. Is this possible? Is it possible to sort any of the product proposal types for a sales order by anything other than the product (material) code?

Item Proposal is automatically proposed by the system while creating a sales order for a specific customer.
This setting is maintained in the Sales Area of customer master under Sales tab.
It can be stored as master records. When you create a sales order, you can refer to an item proposal, look over the proposed items, and copy all or just selected items into the order. If a customer routinely orders the same goods, you can create a proposal and enter it in the customer master record. During sales order processing, the system automatically proposes items from this proposal.
Item Proposal is created using VA51.
Material Listing lists which materials a customer can buy. With material listing or exclusion you can control which materials can be sold to each customer.
A material listing is created for a customer. The customer can only buy the materials contained in the list. The system does not allow any materials to be entered if they are not contained in the material listing.
If no records exist for material listing, the sold-to party, for example, can in principle buy the same materials as the payer. However, if there is a material listing record specific to the sold-to party, the sold-to party can only buy the materials permitted in the list. These materials do not have to be identical to those which the payer can buy.
Material listing and material exclusion are controlled using the condition technique.

Item proposal and product proposal are the same.
Item proposal is the list of materials and order quantities that can be copied into the sales order from the customer master data.
We use VA51 to create the item proposal. Here we get a number.This number is then linked to the customer master data in the sales view. This is very commonly used.
Material determination is very closely related to item proposal /product proposal and is used to swap one material for another in the sales order using the condition technique. I have not seen Material determination procedures used in the projects I have worked.
Item Proposal or Product proposal:
Item proposal is same as product proposal & SAP uses the two terms interchangeably.
An item proposal is a list of materials and order quantities that can be copied into the sales order. Items can also be selected from a list and copied into a sales order.
1) Use transaction [VOV8] to configure the document type ("MS" for product proposal).
2) Use transaction [VA51] to create a proposal.
3) Enter the item proposal on the sales area data (sales tab) of the customer master record.
4) In [VA01] to create a sales order, Select Edit & propose items."
Material determination:
"Material determination uses the condition technique to swap one material for another when certain conditions apply. Material
determination is triggered by the material entered in the line item of the sales order.
Use transaction [VB11] to create a material determination condition record. And [OV12] for configuration of material determination.
Material determination is useful when old product is becoming obsolete or a new product is released by the company at specific date."

For determining the dates, you have to put the availability checking group in the Salesorg/plant view of material master.
After that you have to put the number of days(planned delivery time,GR processing time) in the MRP2 view
of material master and if the stock is not availble then the system will determine dates based on these number of days.
You can also select the default delivery date by putting the number of days in the configuration of sales document type VOV8.

Automatic TO creation and confirmation for a Material document

i am new to MM andWM.
I have to customization for auto transfer orders and confirmations for material documents what ever created with 101 movement type in Inventory Management. I have down configuration like below.
SPRO->Logistics Execution->Warehouse Management->Activities->Transfers-> Set Up Autom. TO Creation for TRs / Posting Change Notices
Double click on control data tab
Hear for my warehouse I given input like Auto TO = 1,
AddId = select check box.
And in Assign control tab for 101 movement type I have given input like below.
Automatic TO = 1.
TO item can be confirmed immed. = tick checkbox
Propose Confirmation = tick checkbox.
Foreground/Backgrnd = D.
After creating of Material document I am executing report RLAUTA10 in SE38.When I execute this report system showing message like TO processing finished: TR total: 17, TO created: 0, Errors: 17.
If I check header details of transfer requirements in LB03, i am not seeing Tick Mark in Auto TO Creation field.
Can any one tell me what the mistake i have down or if i need to do any further configuration. Please help me regarding this concern?

Free goods assigment have been done for a material with respect to customer/sales or/dist channel.During ordinary sales order creation va01,for the line item b-7000 free goods trigger for qty of 10.But when a item proposal is created & called in the order.Free goods doesn't trigger(even the qty is same 10).
