Materials replication and R3PRODSTYP product subtype - SYSFAIL in inbound q

Hi,
We are using SRM 7.0 and we have a problem in materials replication. In inbound queues we have the status sysfail and the following error:
R3A* Error in Mapping (Details: transaction SMW01)
In SW01 the error messages are: u201CDownload inicial material: Table not supported by functionu201D and u201CCategory for material type MAT_Z001 does not existu201D
We did the initial download of DNL_CUST_PROD1 and the materialu2019s group corresponding to R3MATCLASS were replicated successfully. However the product subtype, corresponding to R3PRODSTYP, was not correctly replicated. Thus, the materials are not being replicated.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
AN

Hi AN,
Do you mind verifying your setup with this blog? : /people/marcin.gajewski/blog/2007/02/05/how-to-replicate-material-master-from-r3-to-srm
Also in ECC system, what are your entries in the table : CRMPRLS?

We already did the initial download of DNL_CUST_PROD0, DNL_CUST_PROD1, MATERIAL...
The problem is that there are two material types that at this time donu2019t exist in R/3 and when we do the material download those material types are trying to be replicated...
    Any help?

  • Distribution of raw materials price diff. between FG and CO-products

    Dear All,
We do have production of Finished goods. Production scenario is process industry.
So process orders are defined as CO objects.
Goods receipt and co products receipt occurs as well.
We want to valuate CO-products by actual costs.
We have defined cost apportionment to CO-products in mm02 at the Costing with equivalence numbers.
The issue is that this structure mentioned above works only for distribution costs allocated from process order.
But raw materials, issued for process order, price difference are not distributed to CO-product. They distribute only to Finished good.
Could anyone advise us please, what badi or exit could be used for distribution raw materials price differences to CO-products?
    With best regards,
    Kamila.

    Hi
Only way is , after changing the raw material price, do the Costing Run for all dependent FG & SFG. and go to the below reports for your expected result.

  • Products Need for Replication and/or RAC

    Hy everybody,
my company plans to integrate a windowsbased databasereplication (hot standby) and in future a RAC.
    Here are my questions:
    - do we need enterprise-versions of Windows Server 2003 ?
    - do we need enterprise-versions of oracle 10g ?
Like this article http://www.oracle.com/database/product_editions.html are both (replication and rac) available in standardedition, but it's about
Oracle 11g and not Oracle 10g.
    Thanks in advance,
    Markus.

    Hy,
    it's much easier.
In first step, we want to build a database replication with 2 oracle databases (i just read in articles that there are 2 ways to do it - as an cold standby and an hot standby, we will use the hot-standby way).
In second step we will build an RAC.
I know, that dataguard is only available in enterprise-version, but (if i'm right) we do not need dataguard to build a replication or a RAC.
The only (maybe too easy) question is, if we need an enterprise version of oracle (i don't think so) and if we need an enterprise version of Windows 2003 server (i also think no, but i'm quite not shure).
    Thanks,
    Markus

  • Using Moving Average Materials with MF42N (Repetitive Production)

    Version: ECC 6.0
I have a "Is this possible" question.  I know this isn't a best business practice, but thought I'd anyway.  Here goes ...
A material that uses Moving Average (referenced as Material123 below) has the following two materials in its BOM:  (1) Moving Average (Material456), and (2) Non-valuated material, material type = LEER (Material789).
The 1st material in the BOM (Material456) is Liquid Oxygen.  This product is purchased from a vendor and received into inventory via movement type 101.
The 2nd material in the BOM is an empty cylinder (Material789)
The parent material (Material123) being produced is gaseous Oxygen (Oxygen in gas form).
Basic production process:  Liquid Oxygen is the raw material, it is pressurized and stored in a cylinder in gaseous form (for clarity, you've probably seen cylinders before, the two obvious examples of cylinders are propane cylinders used on barbeques and helium cylinders used to blow-up balloons).
Assumptions:  (1) We do not want to do a cost roll, (2) We want to report production (TCode=MF42N) to consume the Bulk Oxygen (Material456) and the cylinder (Material789), and create the finished good (Material123), and (3) We do not want to burden the cost of the parent material (Material123) with direct costs, we only want the material costs.
If you read through the assumptions you can see that this is not proper accounting for a production process (i.e. the direct costs in the production process are not capitalized -- labor, power, etc.), if you can get beyond that I was wondering if anyone has ever set anything like this up?  I tried to set this up and report production in my test environment, I got the materials created, the BOM created, but when I tried to report production it gave me an error, it needs a production version and/or a cost collector.
If anyone has done anything like this I'd be interested in knowing if it is possible to report production with a setup like this.  Thanks.

Using CO production orders may solve your problem. They dont need PP or product costing to be implemented. Costs can be flexibly posted and there are not many demanding requirements for this.

  • Help required in mapping Materials , Quotation and Sales order

    Hi,
We need your help for the following requirement
There is a vehicle model and colours for these models
Company gets sales plan from dealers for vehicle model and later dealer confrms  the PO Qty with model and required colour.
I need to map this in SAP.
I am proposing to create a Quotation for the sales plan from dealers with vehicle model and when company recieves PO , they will create Sales order with reference to Quotation.
The challenge i need to get all the colours ( finished materials ) for that model, currenttly all models and finished materials are managed in product heirarchy.
When i create order with reference to quotation..........the dealer should able to get the list of colours ( materials ) in the system for that model ( i am planning to create material masters for these models as well)....Please help me how to map this in SAP SD
i am just guessing if higher level item category concept can help .......or please suggest feasible solution
When he creates sales order with reference to quotation, instead of model ( mateial ) from the qtn ..........dealer should get the list of end prodcuts ( colours ) for the model in the sales order so that he chooses the required colour and saves SO.
Actually this is a portal driven project and SO creation is also integrated inthe portal for the dealers.
    Regards
    Venkata Rama Reddy

    Hi there,
You said that the sales order process is done through the portal through the dealers?  We are currently looking at a similar requirement from a customer perspective to create an online store sort of feel integrating the S/D module.
Can you share any ideas, things you did for portal integration?  Web Dyn Pro application, Visual Composer, gave portal access to the dealers to S/D transactions?
Thanks for any input you can give!

  • Co products and by products

    Hi,
I have a scenario where in during a production of main Finished Material, two co products will come out. These products undergo further processing and they can be sold and also these two co products are used to produce one more material (by product) which is sold as well used in the production of main Finished material.
processing of co products and production of by product take place separately in other production machines/units.
can someone please suggest how i can map this scenario? and in this situation how the BOM is created??
    Regards,
    Pavan

    Hi Prasobh,
Material "A" is  the main finished material which uses production unit "01" to produce.
During production of "A", materials "B" and "C" will come out as a co products.
Material "B" is further processed in production unit "02"  and material "C" is further processed in production unit "03" to make them as sell able and usable materials.
Again material "B" and "C" are used to produce material "D" which uses production unit "04". Material "D" is also sold and
This material "D" in small quantities used in the production of main material "A".
I can get production requirement for material "A" only.
All production units are located in the same premise.
The scenario is bit complex, above explanation may give some clear picture to you.

  • VFM (Virtual File Manager): End of life and replacement products

In our organization, we are heavy users of VFM (Virtual File Manager) for DFS management and file replication.  Unfortunately VFM is going end of life in Nov 2012 and we have not been able to find suitable product(s) to replace its functionality. We have looked at many alternate products, including Autovirt and ScriptLogic SecureCopy for DFS management and file migration/replication and have not found a suitable replacement so-far.  The products we have seen so-far do not scale well for larger environments and do not provide the ability to import or batch create tasks.  For the DFS management functionality, it looks like Netapp may be able to create a custom tool for us, but we have not found anything suitable from the replication/migration side of things.  Either way, off the shelf products would be preferable to a custom made tool if available. Here is a breakdown of the VFM features that we use and their importance to our teams:Feature UsedFeature TypeFeature DescriptionImportanceAvailability PoliciesAdmin View, Namespace PoliciesDFS Link replicationHigh, used to replicate DFS namespace between serversBackup PoliciesAdmin View, Namespace PoliciesBackup DFS namespaceHigh, used for contingencyClient Recovery PoliciesAdmin View, Business Continuity PolicyAlllows failover of DFS links from PROD to DRHigh, used for BCP / DRCreation PoliciesAdmin View, Namespace PoliciesFiler recovery policies Admin View, Business Continuity PolicyDFS link managementVery, currently used for contingencyMigration PoliciesAdmin View, Data Movement PolicyData copy/ migrationHigh, many migrationsReplication PoliciesAdmin View, Data Movement PolicyServer recovery policiesAdmin View, Business Continuity PolicyDFS link managementVery, currently used for contingencyVFM GUILogical View, add linksDFS link addition / update / deleteVery, used to manage all links
We are looking for suggestions for replacement products for the functionality of VFM.  Has anyone identified a successor for VFM that would still work within larger environments?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can get the same functionality that was provided by this product if you take a slightly different approach by using symlinks or CIFS widelinks.  I've been using a script I wrote which effectively replaced what we were doing in Netapp VFM. I create symlinks in the main share that I consider to be the primary tier of storage. The symlinks are to the folders residing on secondary SATA tiers of storage. This script parses through the secondary tier, then adds said symlink into the main tier. To enable this you basically change the options in your share to allow external shares to be traversed (though, it's on the same storage system itself). Create a hidden clone share for the primary tier and change the option on that share to not follow external links/only allow internal. That share will then show the secondary tier folders as 0 byte files that are the shortcuts, you can literally manage those by deleting those files, or using the remove-nafile command in the PowerShell toolkit. This is 7-mode still, but you could do this approach all the same w/ cifs widelinks. This script itself only parses and creates the symlinks that point to secondary tiers of storage, it isn't doing any data migration. You could very easily integrate it into a data migration workflow where you scanned your main tier for folders that have files that haven't been modified in say a year, then auto move those to the SATA tier, then run this script. You could go one step further and auto move them back to primary if you detect your SATA share were in use again, just delete the symlink shortcut and migrate back to primary by doing a standard copy from the one share to other. In addition, this in my opinion is better than using a DFS shortcut for reach folder on each tier of storage whereever it was (like NetApp/Brocade VFM did). Essentially the client was handling linking the shortcuts. This moves the responsibility to the server building and presenting the share and the client knows no different. On a Mac system, this makes a HUGE difference as it is only seeing one DFS pointer in this approach. You can download it here: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/NetApp-symlink-generator-e1de2185

  • Benefits/ Limitations when we use  SAP HANA Extended and Standard products.

    Hi All,

    Hello,
please check Master Guide (page 9 - chapter 1.6 Software Components)
    https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000604552011
There you can find edition comparison and detailed description.
    To extract the short summary:
Platform edition = SAP HANA Database + Studio + Client + Host Agent + Information Composer
Enterprise edition = (Platform edition) + LT Replication Add-on (SLT) + LT Replication Server (SLT) + SAP BO Data Services
Enterprise extended edition = (Enterprise edition) + Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise + Sybase Replication Server + Sybase Replication Server Agent + SAP HANA load controller
It depends on what licenses you already have and how do you intends to use HANA.
Platform edition = ETL via BO Data Services (you already have license for BO Data Services)
Enterprise edition = SLT and/or BO Data Services (including licenses)
Enterprise extended edition = all replication technologies

  • Direct Procurement and Direct Production

    Dear all,
Can you please explain to me what is "Direct Procurement", and "Direct Production" base on the following points:
1 - What is the process about?
2 - How and when business requirement will bump into and using these two processes?
    3 - Example
Please don't copy and paste the SAP help portal explanation as I have read the SAP help-portal and am NOT understand
    thanks very much
    tuffy

    Dear Tuffy,
    Direct Production:
1.The components for which individual production orders are created in a collective order concept are called as directly
    produced component.
2.In my understanding these components are identified with the value 52 set for special procurement key in MRP2 view of the
    material master.
3.Direct production cannot be set for the components that have any one of the indicator set for - by product, co-
product, alternative item with usage probablity 0 or alternative item with strategy 2,discontinued material, follow up material, intra
    material.
4.This concept atleast helps in understanding the cost breakup than the phantom assembly concept.
    5. Example:
You want to produce a pump. The BOM for the pump contains a pressure regulating valve and a spiral casing. You want to
enter these two components in separate production orders, but you do not want them to be posted to stock.
You set the special procurement type to direct production in the material master record for the pressure regulating valve and
the spiral casing, so that production occurs using a collective order.
When you create a production order for the pump, a collective order is automatically created, which contains subordinate
production orders for the pressure regulating valve and the spiral casing.
    Direct Procurement:__
1.Direct Procurement is generally used for non-stock items that is defined with item category N or defined using special
    procurement key for direct procurement.
2.This is widely used in the case of Make ot order or Engineer to Order production where the stock of such materials are not
    inventory managed.

  • Settings for co-product and by-product

    Hi Gurus,
Can you please tell me what are the settings i need to maintained for co-product and by-product.
    Regards
    Rajib

    Hi,
For Co-Products do the following settings.
    1. Select Co-Product indicator in MRP2 view for header material
as well as for co-product materials.
    2. Define the co-products as BOM components.
    3. Give negative quantity in the BOM for co-products
Also select co-product indicator by clicking on BOM item details
and in the Basic Data Tab.
    4. To calculate the production cost of co-products give equivalence
numbers in MRP2 view by clicking Joint Production push button
or  you can give the same in the settlement rule in the
Production order by clicking Header menu - Settlement rule.
    5. You will get the GR qty for co-products while doing MB31, 101
for  the order of the header material
    For By Products
    1. Donot set the co-product indicator any where.
    2. Define the By-Products as BOM components and give negative qty.

  • Online and background product proposal

    Hi All,
Can you please explain the difference between online and backgroung product proposal, I tried searching on forum but could not find an explanatory answer. Please suggest?

    Hi,
Dynamic product proposal can also be proposed based on the
Order history-it means that the materials which are most frequently ordered by the customer are considered as order history. So based on this the system will propose the product proposal,if we specify this order history in the access sequence of the product proposal procedure as a source.
Even system can propose product proposal based on listing&exclusion, item proposal, user specific source etc.but it is based on the source field in the access sequence.
In access sequence we have a function module SD_DPP_HISTORY.this fuction module helps the sysytem to search the database for the product proposal based on the source field.
You can access the data sources either online, in background processing, or using a combination of both. It is also possible to have a combination of both access techniques. If you want to access various different data sources, SAP recommend that you use background processing, in order to keep the system load as low as possible while working online.

  • Difference between Item Proposal and Dynamic Product Proposal

    Dear All,
What is the difference between Item Proposal ( VA51) and Dynamic Product Proposal?
    Thanks and Regards
    Deepak Joshi

    Hi,
In item proposal when u enter the details in the sales document you have to click on propose items to get the list
    the customer regularly purchases.
While in dynamic product proposal once you specify the sold to party and press enter , system automaticall gives you
the list of the materials the customer regularly purchases, it a faster way of entry than item proposal.
please let me know if i am wrong.
    Thanks,
